that was the one part that made no sense to me..... this is my first vid on this channel, but hearing the part about loving some cheap guns and then the immediate gun after isnt even a gun, its a $300 chassis that u would have to either already have a 10/22 or purchase a 10/22 to use, at $300 u might as well say thats 2 cheap guns at that point......

The Mossberg Maverick 12 gauge shotgun is a "no brainer" for under $300 ($235). Any of the Taurus G2 or G3 pistols on sale are great guns. The Taurus 605 5-shot .357 snubby ($329 new, $299 used at a pawn shop/gun store) Marlin model 60 .22lr, and the list goes on and on...

My first rifle was a Mosin nagant. It was a surplus rifle that came in a crate with other Mosin Nagants. The rifle was caked some sort of protective grease, cleaned it up with some mineral spirits and it honestly is just a cool rifle. All matching numbers and it’s actually affordable. Paid 160 and the same rifle is worth probably 300 now.

Mozan Nogant 7.62×54R was my first firearms purchase. I discovered this treasure in the Roses store in Corbin, Ky. I was 13 years old, and knew I could not leave the store without the rifle. I remember thinking the $55.00 price tag was high for an old rifle produced way back in 1944. These days this memory always makes me smile. I'd say it's one of the most accurate weapons right out of the box. Except there was no box, it was a surplus rifle in a barrel near the register..
can you imagine a kid leaving a store rifle in hand these days without folks having a hissy fit right there and then on Facebook.

As an Aussie I love seeing what you pay for stuff for example, a decent Mosin here is $1200-$1400au and the Carcano ammo for where I am you can get at around $40au a box of 20 and I got 120rds right now which is a good par level, PPU and Norma do the 6.5x52 round. Turning $300us in au would be about $500au which gets us some good second hand or demo guns like shotguns and 2nd hand Ruger Americans. Enjoy the videos mate keep it up!

On the topic of bullpup configurations. Some time ago I was playing around with the trigger bar in my AUG and realized that it's possible to design a bullpup with adjustable length of pull by making the _trigger group_ the part which can be adjusted. Imagine having a self contained trigger group with the safety and fire selector able to be moved forward or back on a rail located under the receiver. Choosing the right length of pull could be as simple as removing a pin which connects the trigger to the trigger bar and sliding the pistol grip into the desired position.

Back in the olden days, meaning the 1960's, I bought two centerfire rifles and a 12ga shotgun for under $20 each! The shotgun was a single shot, made in Spain, and shot about a foot low at 30 feet, so the barrel needed a little tweaking. My first centerfire was a surplus 98 Mauser in 8mm, but not a single round of surplus ammo that came with it fired, so I took it back and paid a buck or two more for a slightly sporterized 1909 Argentine 98 Mauser in .30-06 for $19 (minimum wage was $1/hr back then, so a lot of money, and at the time I had no clue of the popularity of the .30-06) . For many years I thought it had been rebarreled, but turns out many Argentine Mausers were reamed to .30-06, but used the stock barrel diameter of .311! I used it as a DIY gunsmithing learning experience, and I think the disassembled parts are still around here somewhere.

Target barrel is way to front heavy . It’s also recommended to use the shell deflector if shooting left handed . I’m left eye dominant but right handed . I never had an issue but the warning is there . Problem is having to dismantle if the action needs anything done . But tons of fun .

Desert Tech takes your $359 Ruger 10/22 and changes it into a $659 10/22. My local pawns think old .22lr guns are all made of gold. They cost more than the new ones! Any military surplus is upwards of $500. The Altor pistol needs to come in 500 S&W magnum.

I know your list is cheap and cool, but for cheap and good, I think the 7 best would be: (1) Mossberg Maverick 88 with 28" and 18.5" barrel set (for under $300, this is the most versatile thing you can get at a gun store), (2) Ruger 10/22, (3) Hi-Point 9mm carbine (I put over a 1000 rounds through one without cleaning except once and had zero malfunctions), (4) Ruger Wrangler .22 revolver, (5) Taurus Gx4 9mm compact carry pistol, (6) Taurus TX-22 (best sub-$300 semiauto .22), and (7) Charter Arms Undercover .38 Spl snubnose. As an honorable mention, I'd throw in the Bond Arms Roughneck .38 Spl (solidly built derringer at decent price point of $250).

My break action, 99 dollar .177 pellet gun is probably the most used gun i have. I can't count how many rodents I have dispatched with it. We had an infestation of chipmonks, reds and grays, as well as some huge rats. Now we only see a few a year. My shots are mostly 15 feet or so, under the bird feeders where they congregate like at a bait pile. And this cheap Crossman from wal mart is pretty potent. Supposedly 1200 fps (with alloy pellets) I shoot lead, so around 1000 fps according to the manufacturer. All I know is it does the job. When I sighted it in at 5, 10, 15, and 20 paces, each and every pellet was going clean through the 1 inch particle board I had the target stapled to.

I bought a 22cal break barrel air rifle several years ago try something new for small game hunting and I love that thing. Its all I've used for squirrels the last 3 seasons. What I found is that I could sit in the smaller patches of woods near property fence lines where I wouldn't want to use a 22lr or shotgun and pick off squirrels all day long. Its so quiet they jusy keep coming in. Ive shot them from the same tree before and they didnt realize what was happening. Pellets are relatively cheap and its a great way to hunt and save your other ammo with the bonus of being silent. It's definitely worth having a good quality air rifle in your collection

Its also small enough that it replaced the cut down 870 by my bed, even though i literaly just goy as a range toy. You aren't hitting any corners or, doors or doorframes with it. Also the charging handle can be switched for either hand and the safety is ambi, something none if the reviewers ever mention
There could be more accessories for it.

When you load a round in, push down and back with the palm of your hand, push down on the front of the round once youve got the back a little pass the lips of the magazine, it will go right in.
