I don't know if you get this later but I missed the jump on the chariot at 4:25 and fell into the lava. There's an alcove right there when you fall that has some beast blood you can grab on a dead body right where the ladder is to get back up. I guess you can just take the ladder down and get the loot before jumping onto the chariot but I learned the hard way 😂
For any new players following this guide, Raptors of the Mist ash of war comes in handy here. You can "parry" the chariot when it rolls over you. Love your videos FightinCowboy!
You can make that chariot change from the "short route" by hitting the flame pillar to make it turn back on again. This makes the chariot go all the way down to the end

Trying to make sure I leave at least 1 comment on every vid for the #s. Want to take this time to genuinely thank Cowboy for hundreds of hours of joy in my life - as a lifelong gamer w a huge backlog, I always found excuses to avoid Dark Souls in favor of something I would find more 'fun' - this was years ago and I heard all of the fuss about how hard the game was, how random certain NPC questlines were to be able to complete them, how frustrating the game could be as soon as the 1st 5 minutes when a huge % of gamers never get past the opening rooms to the castle, etc.. Finally Christmas break of '18 I set aside 2 weeks to finally dive in. I looked up 'dark souls walkthrough' on YT, I was lucky enough that the best guide ever was at the top of the results, and every Christmas break since has been a Fightin' Cowboy led SoulsBorne experience. I pre-ordered and received EldenRing day 1 back when it was released, and it sat there for months to keep the tradition alive. I started 12/16 and can't believe I am still chugging along through this monster an entire month later. I'll be seeing Fightin'Cowboy Christmas '23 for some Demon Souls PS5 remake. Already have his guide bookmarked - can't wait!
When you ported to the top of the Hero Tomb because the chariot was griefing the one area you wanted to go to, instead of porting you can run to the other side of that room. There's a window there that will force the chariot back up it's usual path and then you can run across and get to the spot for the last loot. Thanks for the walkthrough!
I like the look of the Crimson Hood and the Cleanrot armor set. Also picked up the Twinbird Kite Sheild off a deathbird in Altus somewhere. Lookin pretty fly!
You know the walkthrough is good when ur able to beat the fallingstar beast 1 handed without a mouse. Thanks FC. Scavenger curved sword and blood blade is awesome
13:30 You don't need to die here and waste your rune arc to obtain stonesword key. Rush up and stay in the corner. Chario won't be able to hit you and you can just warp out (must kill boss first to fast travel). 25:33 After pick up loot, drop down below for Coil shield(Snake shield). It's a fun small poison shield that you will never used but might want it if you want to "catch them all" :)
I have a question; it's been bothering me forever... how the hell did the merchant get that pack mule up there... did he teach it how to climb ladders?
There is an advantage to taking the ladder for the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast. If you don't move forward once you top the ladder, you have time to call up your mimic, take your flask, and prep for the fight. This makes a world of a difference for casters especially. My recommendation is to run a few steps at the beast, side roll dodge its first attack and then give your mimic a few secs to build aggro. As a mage, I find it useful to just cast spells in bunches when my endurance is topped off. This way my mimic maintains aggro throughout the fight without pulling the boss away.
You can literally do the same taking the spirit spring, just hop over to the right, far enough and you can buff up and do all that you said there, way better then taking the stupid ladder, the beast will bum rush you and knock you flying tf off, no advantage at all doing what you said, honestly terrible advice 😂
In that two minute cave there is a ledge to drop down too right after you grab that loot in the right tunnel. Then there is a tunnel there to a couple more shiny's

22:28 alright MR shield pokes do it again Knight immediately does it again I have had so many moments in this game were I know what an enemy is about to do and still end up making a mistake.
You don’t have to hit the beams on the drop by the chariot. Approaching for downhill, walking uphill from the hiding place. Hug the left and jump off. You’ll land on a lip beside the beams. The. Easier to jump to beam then through window.
For anyone struggling in gelmir heroes grave (or with chariot traps in general) try using the "raptor of the mists" ash of war on a weapon. It makes you crouch down and then if you would get hit during the skill it boosts you into the air. This is extremely generous on the timing and can be used to easily i-frame through the chariots. Best part of the skill is that it doesn't use much FP and if you don't get hit when using it, it doesn't use any at all.

Omg so I was following your guide for this crappy dungeon. Where you died at 13:30 from the chariot. I managed to follow it as it went back down and as it came back up I jumped over the blades! ☺️
Good tip on the Fallingstar Beast Jaw! I'm a strength/intelligence build, so it works GREAT for me. I finally killed that nasty Black Knight Tiche npc with it.
Where you try to get the armors near the chariot jumping from to a beam, there's an either way, when you ride the chariot up, there's a spot on the side of the ledge in the next section you can jump down to so you can get there safer
You could always cheese the falling star beast with poison mist .. just land on the edge of the cliff, ride the edge until you get behind him, then go in crouched. You can get pretty close behind him, then go and hit him with the poison mist until he dies. It may take a bit of time, but it works and you never have to physically battle with him! 👍🏻
I was worried after watching you fight the falling star beast that I would be up for a tough battle however with my faith build and the godslayer greatsword +10 it was down in literally a few hits. Used flame grant me strength with it and was wiping its health out catastrophically 😅
@ 6:25 the wall to the left if u hug it and you will walk on2 the leg and than can drop onto the 2nd same ledge n than 3rd that’s different ledge than the 1st two without taking damage
You missed a coil shield (poison) in the short cave. The RH path w/ loot on edge, drop down, kill stuff, cave behind them, kill stuff at the end, 3 loots (shield, 2 other trash) inside.
I’ve been following the series for a long time and I’ve gotta say, the amount of disrespect for the Fully Grown Fallingstar Beast is crazy. It almost kicked your ass.
@12:26 Stone sword key vs Rune Arc - think i'll pass on the key. @28:30 - After 7 tries with all sorts of ashes on my Great Stars - what did the trick was Frenzied Burst - a lot of Frenzied Burst.
I came back here to add one more comment because despite following this entire walkthrough months ago I somehow missed the volcano cave where you get the jar cannon 👀
I'm using Blaiids armor and it takes 3 hits for the chariot to kill me, and that's without the bubble and defense tears. I even have Radagons Soreseal equipped... *Big tip: don't bother with incantations etc for any status effect, use any bow with good range and the Barrage skill. It costs low fp and you rapid fire your bow, including all status effect arrows. You can apply rot, poison, and frost in a matter of seconds, and from a way better range than any spell or incantation. I use the black bow and it kills fast. It also stun locks most smaller enemies, so even without status effects you can just cheese most enemies.
the fallingstar beast is weak against any elemental dmg except, is strong to scarlet rot and posion and imune to frostbite and bleed, just tought id let yall know
if you are going to die fighting the Fallingstar Beast , remember you can always jump down with your horse to the grace using the current of air , that way you can change weapons , maybe change you mix flask
@27:00 after as many times as you have lef me into death traps with no warning, it was fun watching you get curb stomped by something I thought was easy. Greatshield soldiers+rock sling+sacred katana.
Well, should you kill all merchants? or at the least these hard to reach ones (like the one on this ladder) no way i'm doing all this just to buy some bolts later on
So bows are awesome. If you level it up quite high, plus a decent dex-int build, rain of arrows is a life saver. It absolutely decimated dragons and rune bears, trivializing my encounters against those creatures. I relied on my Bow almost as much as my melee weapons. Not much of a spell Caster despite having a heavy investment into int.
Hey cowboy 🤠, love the guide brother ! Been following it religiously man . Quick question, do you know about the rune farm at Mogwyn palace ? 11,000 runes for one shoting a bird in the blood swamp, rinse and repeat . Just thought I would ask . Thanks dude and hello 👋🏻 from Canada 🇨🇦
Cowboy misses the Coiled Shield in the volcano cave. Interesting but not incredible. Ive noticed he misses a few of the smaller shields during this walkthrough, but if anything is gonna slip through the net, a small shield sounds ok to me!
(12:00) If you are at the top of the ramp, you can pass without taking damage by long jumping from the bottom of the wall while approaching you. just try gl
2:00 It should be a middle finger i am supposed BTW i am using Grossmesser+Scarvenger's curved with seppuku , it is awesome, especially with mimic tear you basically give blood loss for every hit
Quick question: I noticed at the start of the fight with the falling star beast that you got knocked off your horse and were able to get up fast. Whenever I get knocked off my horse my character takes forever to get back up even when I spam the roll button. What am I doing wrong
The Purple bull thing on top of cliff..I was laughing..Mimic "think I'll try my knives"...Cowboy "why the hell are u throwing knives"..haha. Crazy how some bosses just suck for casters and some are easy. This boss Lightening spear and black flame shredded it...but more imporantly Sprit Oleg punished it. Dude at +10 bad ass..
You can bait the chariot to take the lower route by going to the beams above the Bloodhound Knight area. Once the chariot turns around and heads downward, you'll have enough time to sprint all the way up for the safe spot at the Stonesword Key.
21:46 I can't imagine there being a more OP summon than mimic. And for that reason, I am totally game to see you run something different (more situational or just fun factor unique). the reason is as follows: I've been following this entire walkthrough step by step and, at this point, Mimic makes the game easy mode. It essentially doubles your DPS and removes almost all risk from getting aggroed. Additionally, I've let it "solo" multiple encounters without engaging and it only takes a fraction of the damage my character does. I mean between this, the +10 Bloodhounds Fang (only 9 for me), and the Twiggy Cracked Tear, a Soulsborne game has never been "easier". Regardless, I love this shit and get off on the power fantasy big time! Bahahahahah! Wouldn't mind changing some things up though, just for the sake of variety.
Agreed. That’s why I refuse to upgrade Bloodhound to +10. Even using that at +3 and regular weapons (flamberge and crescent moon axe) at +6/+7 I pretty much cruise through the game. +10 plus mimic is super easy mode.
As a Sub... I love your content mate... such a good job and so helpful! I have to say that Gelmir is prob my least favorite area so far... the map and terrain is very confusing to me trying to play thru. I recently got the Blasphemous Blade and omg I love it... its almost like a cheat code sometimes! Anyway, just wanted to take a moment to give you props... hope to see a lot of content from you on the DLC!

Yeah I really wish bows would get good scaling . I leveled up multiple just for aesthetics. I love the serpent and black bow.
On my second playthrough I’m going as a mage. Annihilated the fallingstar beast only with rock slings in less than a minute. Magic really is broken.
Well it is weak to all elemental damage so that's probably it
Omg so I was following your guide for this crappy dungeon. Where you died at 13:30 from the chariot. I managed to follow it as it went back down and as it came back up I jumped over the blades! ☺️
For the fallingstar beast: just equip magic grease. He dies pretty quick.
Good tip on the Fallingstar Beast Jaw! I'm a strength/intelligence build, so it works GREAT for me. I finally killed that nasty Black Knight Tiche npc with it.
28:40 I recommend dragon scale katana or the great star weapon dragon has been buff and can poise and great star does amazing against crystal enemies
Missed a secret room with a shield in the monkey cave at 24:30
Where you try to get the armors near the chariot jumping from to a beam, there's an either way, when you ride the chariot up, there's a spot on the side of the ledge in the next section you can jump down to so you can get there safer
11:46 was priceless. i jumped out of the chair!!
The hoarfrost stomp still works well against those invisible scarabs
You could always cheese the falling star beast with poison mist .. just land on the edge of the cliff, ride the edge until you get behind him, then go in crouched. You can get pretty close behind him, then go and hit him with the poison mist until he dies. It may take a bit of time, but it works and you never have to physically battle with him! 👍🏻
17:25 left that wolf alive, loyal dogs on top
I was worried after watching you fight the falling star beast that I would be up for a tough battle however with my faith build and the godslayer greatsword +10 it was down in literally a few hits. Used flame grant me strength with it and was wiping its health out catastrophically 😅
Holy damage works great! Used Inseparable Sword at +9 to great effect
@25:48 drop down to next level and take cave behind to get Coil Shield and miss loot there be three guys in room
One thing that cowboy missed on the right path in the Volcano cave at 24:00 + is the Coil Shield and an Arteria Leaf
Greatshield soldiers+rock sling+sacred katana.
this episode affirms why you are truly the goat of this playthrough shit
I got ahead and did this dungeon and wish I would’ve followed along. It was frustrating at first, couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to go
You can sneak up behind the Fallingstar Beast and cast poison mist. It does take a few minutes but it removes dealing with his BS
You missed a loot to the right. After you get the rune drop down from that spot and turn around, there's another path to get the coil shield.
Bro, I legit lost it when you jumped the Chariot. 🤣
You missed a coil shield and 2 other loot when u grab rune 6 drop to first ledge before bottom is a cave to room with the three loot 26:17
Well, should you kill all merchants? or at the least these hard to reach ones (like the one on this ladder) no way i'm doing all this just to buy some bolts later on
In the volcano cave there is a side room that was missed with the coiled shield and a few crafting materials
17:50 these enemies here can drop smithing stones and very rarely somber stones as well as armor and bolts.
Flames of the redmanes works wonders for the fallingstar beast.
Cowboy misses the Coiled Shield in the volcano cave. Interesting but not incredible. Ive noticed he misses a few of the smaller shields during this walkthrough, but if anything is gonna slip through the net, a small shield sounds ok to me!
(12:00) If you are at the top of the ramp, you can pass without taking damage by long jumping from the bottom of the wall while approaching you. just try gl
Cowboy saying "go go go go", im like "IM TRYYYINGGG 🤣"
18:00 really feel bad for all the soldier who were mourning their fallen comrades 😢
They didn’t have to mourn much longer. 🤷🏽♂️
@@DoctorDoop holy crap
06:20
…as I hop down and run to get these armor sets
"We are fighting through this backward, so nothing can see us coming and it's a lot safer."
*gets blasted by explosive arrow*
I was cracking up. Lol
2:00 It should be a middle finger i am supposed
BTW i am using Grossmesser+Scarvenger's curved with seppuku , it is awesome, especially with mimic tear you basically give blood loss for every hit
Sep-poo-koo
Quick question: I noticed at the start of the fight with the falling star beast that you got knocked off your horse and were able to get up fast. Whenever I get knocked off my horse my character takes forever to get back up even when I spam the roll button. What am I doing wrong
I believe that has to do with how much dex or endurance you have. It’s one of those sub-benefits to each stat category.
Yep it’s Dex, and FCB has massive Dex at this point.
Mine was throwing knives too😂
Missed the "Coil Shield" in Volcano Cave 🌋 its a small shield with a poison unique skill called "viper bite"
17:23 if you approach it slowly from the other side, the dog won’t see you and you don’t need to kill it. Just in case someone cares.
I noticed that. I did the same. Pretty cool for the devs to put code the wolf that way
You can bait the chariot to take the lower route by going to the beams above the Bloodhound Knight area.
I've been using Dung Eater puppet and I think it's slightly better. I have both dung eater and mimic at plus 10.
Black Knife Tiche says hello
@@jesnyc146 Black knife Tiche is good too I've tried all three I still think Dung eater is the best.
Agreed. That’s why I refuse to upgrade Bloodhound to +10. Even using that at +3 and regular weapons (flamberge and crescent moon axe) at +6/+7 I pretty much cruise through the game. +10 plus mimic is super easy mode.
Did decent damage with holy damage for the Falling Star Beast. With 45 Faith and the Moon Scythe
As a Sub... I love your content mate... such a good job and so helpful! I have to say that Gelmir is prob my least favorite area so far... the map and terrain is very confusing to me trying to play thru. I recently got the Blasphemous Blade and omg I love it... its almost like a cheat code sometimes! Anyway, just wanted to take a moment to give you props... hope to see a lot of content from you on the DLC!
what are those ritual looking blood circles on the ground,
