It’s crazy how the dismounter is such a middle of the road weapon in PvE, but an absolute beast in PvP. The running attacks have some of the best phantom range in the game.
yeah it's used so much in pvp that I was like, wait that weapon is used all the time, but then I remembered this is a pve video, yeah it's not used often but I did do a run with it using storm blade and it went pretty hard. The double hits are insane
Those skeleton summons are actually really goos since when they lose their health they keep respawning unless killed by Holy or hit while on the ground which isnt that often
Are we playing different games? I gave up on the skeletons after so many enemies killed them with their big, sweeping, ground-scraping attacks when they were trying to regenerate. Their revival gimmick doesn't hold up its end of the bargain.
I feel like I got very unlikely every time I tried using them. The boss would just kill them the purposely hit them while on the ground so they wouldn't respawn lol
I actually did use the Dismounter for a bit on my first run before getting the Knight's Greatsword from a Godrick soldier at some point. It's decent for early game, but Bloodhound's Fang exists, so it has no purpose in most runs.
“All of these are used… except bandit. Who in their right mind would pick that” Me picking bandit my first time playing cause I thought Arcane was the magic stat
My first game was DS3, and I still remember my version of stupid confusion: I didn't realize Estus recovered at bonfires until after the first boss, so I refused to heal even once against him. Which when you consider that the DS3 tutorial boss is the hardest in the franchise... Well, wasn't the most fun part of the game.
I was using the dismounter since it dropped day 1. Not only is it good raw physically but when paired with a Omen curved greatsword the Style Souls is peak *chef kiss*
Something i realised playing elden ring is that weapons dont matter, you can beat the game with any weapon thats been leveld even a bit as long as u can dodge.
@@backslash4141eh not really, unless your entire build is based around an ash of war that’s not really a defining characteristic that determines if a weapon is good or not. Well in pvp at least, in pve there’s a lot more room for ashes to be op but from soft has nerfed most of the big ones so it’s still not really an issue, plus it’s pve and nobody should care what you use
@pointofthestag5369 Yeah, that was basically what I used, eventually changing to the zweihander since it also had innate bleed all the way to then end of the game
Pretty much. But when you think about it, that's a smart development decision on fromsofts part to de-emphasise significance of weapon type and to make sure any and all of them are theoretically viable. Executioner's Greataxe, mathematically, has the highest crit attacks in the game, due to it's very high base damage, the great axe crit multiplier, and it's 115 crit bonus
Incorrect, it's the second best. Misericord still does more damage in most builds thanks to daggers having a much better motion value for them. Executioner's Greataxe DOES out damage it on strength builds though, but it's not by much.

Contrary to reality, I actually do use soap a fair bit in ER - for anyone that hasnt worked out what it does, it just cleans you (shocker, I know) but I've found it's come in handy many times to help me conserve boluses. Sometimes you'll be poisoned or afflicted with rot, for example, and you use a bolus but after if clears the bar the build-up is so significant that you end up needing to use a second bolus because you either get re poisoned or it's so close that you may as well. But if you have soap handy and use it after you exit the suspicious liquid, it halts any further build-up meaning you only ever need at most 1 bolus to clear your affliction. Plus it's so cheap and easy to make, I always make sure I have some on hand.

I've been heavily using Poisoned Stone Clumps when summoned to help out (my character is poison-themed). People stop and stare. Noble's Slender Sword is fine, with a nice look and good reach. Dismounter is reasonably popular: good damage for weight and can be obtained early. Pickaxe is *excellent*.
