i dont have tourettes, but i have a tic that hurts my neck, its a rly violent twitch/jerk and its SO FJCKGKFKFK embarrassing when it happens in public, i feel like ppl think im a nutcase kfkfdk
I've had tics since I can remember, andI'm 37 now. Trying to mentally restrain myself is exhausting. The best things I've found to reduce the frequency of tics are; eat healthy (no sugar, caffeine, etc.), exercise (swimming is the best for me), and keeping a clear conscience. Stimulants & alcohol set off my tics really bad. There's a newer "tic" (I call it a tic for lack of a better word) that is really weird. It has only happened 3 times. It feels almost like an anti-tic. It's a feeling of overwhelming release of negative energy. No, I'm not a hippy. I don't know how else to describe it. It's like something plucks all this built up stress/strain/energy, then demolishes it, and I'm fine. It begins with me squeezing my eyes shut really tight. Have you heard of something similar from anyone else? No, I don't do any psychedelic mushrooms or acid, or any other drugs. I avoid them like the plague.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences my friend! It sounds like you're going through a lot. I hope you can find some tools that work the best for you. 😃
I’m so sorry for what u are going through today I’ve finally realized my son might have stomach ticks.. breaks my heart he’s only 6 years old. Any information would be greatly appreciated 😞
I finally talked with my family doctor about my tics and seems I'm going to start seeing a therapist so I can train it away. It's not very severe, I can control it when I'm around other people but sometimes there is periods where it's harder. It's such a strange phenomenon
Hahaha okay so here's my strategy okay: I have a conversation with my upcoming tics (I feel where I will tic most of the time and I have a motor tic in almost all of my body parts which hurts me a lot) and I try to ask them why? Why the hek? And well that doesn't work and I tic like 10 times worse.
I have a 10-year-old male client who has experienced both motor and vocal tics since he was 8 years old. So, I am just beginning my journey to learning about tics and the treatment for them. I appreciate the way you explain it in your video. It's easily understandable for both lay people and clinicians alike. Thanks, Nathan!
So I have a neck tic, it’s aggressive and kinda hurts sometimes and when it happens I like stop breathing and I aggressively exhale through my nose, is this just a normal tic
Actually a nice video that describes tics! Thanks~ I really liked the example when try to not blink. It basically describes how tics feel, pretty accurate.
Mine have started in October, I still remember when I was making a noise that I couldn’t control in front of my dad, he practically said “what in the hell are you doing!?” And ever since then when I’m around him I just suppress them. I honestly hate it- I tried bringing it up but he pushed it off and said “oh! They’re just muscle spasms!” So now I’m starting to think that they are, but I know deep inside they’re tics- Can someone else relate to this? I don’t wanna feel alone-
Yeah I've had weird tics but they always have like conditions before they happen, like I have a really common when I have to pee. But I just saw a tiktok where they used a filter and wiggled their finger in a way that stuck with me, and now whenever I have downtime in my videogame I wag my finger and then roll my wrist because it just feels uncomfortable
I've had some of my tics since i was about 7-8 ish.. im 33 now. most prominent ones are the Hmm noise, hard blinking, shoulder shrugging, nodding head, and a recent one I've had occur is like I'm trying to look angry with my eyebrows, the first one i had when i was young that thankfully didn't stick around is i would stick my pinky out, like how you imagine posh people would drink tea. but it was all the time and really annoyed my mum lol. never really spoke out about them before to be honest, and im trying to learn more about tics so i can better understand why i do them and possibly how to reduce them maybe. So thank you for this video, its help to describe the feeling i get to people that dont understand.
I've had tics since March and they've only gotten worse, I've got a lot of tics such as: a little sneezing noise, saying/screaming "And Peggy", " Talk Less", "I'm good", and "fuck off", hitting myself in the chest, pulling my shoulders back, jerking my head back, biting my lip, making a little kissy noise, and scrunching up my nose. My mom dosent think anything is wrong but my chest is bruised most of the time, my shoulders hurt, my neck hurts, and I've constantly got headaches from jerking my head so much, I dont really know what to do.
Try and eat less sugar, it really helps. When you feel an urge for a tic, try and relax yourself by breathing or streching. Try playing a sport, lifting some weights, drawing, playing an instrument or something that you enjoy to do and helps you relax. Don't stress about it too much, it will get better when you reach your adulthood.
Last night I had this little "tic attack" where they got extremely bad and I couldnt make a full sentence without ticking and it never happened before. It was funny for the first 3 minutes but it got really stressful which ended up making them worse. I do have tics but I wasnt use to that many in a row
ITS SO EMBARRASSING!! people have pointed it out and mocked me! My neck like does this sort of violent twitch and my face scrunches its so embarrassing. 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。 Its been happening for 2 years and its been slowly getting worse.
I noticed a few very small tics about 2 months ago (at age 22), and recently I started feeling the urge to tic more frequently. I went to my doctor and he said it is a tic disorder, but we really don’t know anything about it yet. He said he would refer me to a neurologist if things got worse, and it definitely did. I developed SEVERAL new tics within 48 hours. I called the doctor back, and I will be seeing a neurologist soon. My mom thinks I could’ve had a slight tic when I was a baby, and there is another thing that I’ve always done since I was a toddler that seems like a tic, but be aren’t sure. Idk why it started going crazy all of a sudden but I have motor and vocal tics. I guess the neurologist might be able to give us more information, but this whole experience is just WILD.
@@kalaiarasan5234 I saw the neurologist. He gave me medication that helps with the tics, but they aren’t gone. I see a psychiatrist and a therapist now to work on ways to manage and deal with them.

I’ve been struggling with breathing tics for my entire life and I’m in my teen years now. I know for a fact that breathing all weird with no apparent explanation can really affect you physically and psychologically. I just realized that I could have Tourette’s recently and while it didn’t stop it, I was able to feel less alone.
My tics started right before my 27th birthday for no reason. I’m now 35 and they have only increased with time. Motor and vocal. Nobody can figure it out.

i don't have tourettes, but i ad had nervous ticks come and go, but i have this one nervous tic, where i wiggle my tungue around my teeth and across my cheeks, and then push my cheek to my teeth and chomp dow, or i keep my hand down and bite chunks of my tongue instead, and if i fight it the urge, my stomach twists and i feel awful until i can finally chew down on my cheek or tongue, i also have a hair pulling nervous tic that has finally started to go away after almost 20 years!
I found out this year that I've been having tics/tourettes since around 7 years. Had no idea it was a thing. Started with blinking, then neck/head twitching/tensing, ears moving, arm+leg tensing, teeth clenching/grinding, making grunting noises, eyebrow/forehead movement, (+some other things like scalp scratching/other repetitive movements) and almost nose flaring but I stopped myself from doing it before it became something. I've always wondered why this was happening to me and was so ashamed abt it, especially when my parents noticed and questioned/ told me to stop (only happened a few times cuz I've found ways to hide it/suppress). I've tried so hard to suppress it all my years that I was able to keep it quite subtle/mild although when I'm alone, it can get uncontrollable. I would try my best to hide it around others and let it out when I think no one would see/hear. Quite tiring... I remember my mom telling me to ask the doctor abt my head twitching when I had an appointment for something else (was embarrassed to bring it up and kinda perform it to him) and he simply said it was stress related... no further details;-; I remember I had one year when my life was at a "good" place meaning I felt pretty happy and healthy (exercising, hydrated, had friends to talk to and have a good time without much to worry abt) but it all came back when things fell apart haha. I also noticed that my breathing is quite shallow at times and i tend to want to take a deep breath in and out to relieve whatever has been built up inside. I believe my anxiety, depression and stress is probably related to it. It peaks when I'm either super excited abt something or super anxious. It's frustrating and I still feel ashamed. In certain activities like playing the piano, baking, doing photography, gardening, etc (activities that are therapeutic to me) I usually don't experience "tics". I just hope I can get rid of them one day or it not being such an interference with my day to day life. Always thought I had a problem, never had i ever categorized myself having some kind of mental disorder(?). Didn't even know abt me having depression+anxiety until later years.
im a little worried- so ive had "stress" twitches since i was like 9. i was never diagnosed with Tourettes. my twitches have progressively gotten worse. like i have some of the ones you've mentioned in this which is: neck twitches, such as jerking my neck to the side, backward, stiffening it, and forwards. another one is twitching/stiffening my legs and stomach and arm, sometimes i have a beat that i cant quite satisfy. another one you mentioned was not satisfying my breath. i have times where i feel like i cant breathe and i try super hard to breath properly and the way i fix it is usually by yawning. i also have eye twitches where i squint my eyes and shake them and roll them back into my head. also sometimes i do a little grunt and clear my throat or make a little squeak (i dont open my mouth during any of these.) also i adjust my jaw a lot, like i open it without opening my mouth and stiffen it and move it around. also, ive seen videos with people with tics and i do get slightly triggered by them. ive had these for 3 years now and my parents say "u should stop." its like really uncomfortable and uncontrollable. my parents havent brought me to anyone to see. should i be worried? theyre not horrible like they arent preventing me from living or anything- its just that ive been told its stress since i got it so i havent really looked into it very much until they got worse like a year ago. SOMEBODY PLEEEEASE RESPOND I REALLY WANT HELP

Im almost 17 and about 8 months back i started to have a tic, where my neck would jerk and i couldnt really controll it, now it still happens but my arm also jerks, and i say random words and noises like " Hello, Love you, Pretty bird, and Wee Woo ". My family thinks im faking it for attention though because they say you have to be born with it
Im so sorry to hear. Perhaps you can see a doctor about it? Also lame your family doesn't believe you, it's not needed to have it right from birth, you get it in your childhood or teenage years normally
Been long 11 years for me. No one believes. " Just stop moving your shoulder. Just dont open your eyes so wide. Just dont move your fingers like that" LIke stf let me do my thing gawd lmao What really bothers me that i cant even chill normaly if im a bit stressed. The tics occur even in bed. Wow i never know that i was diagnosed with motor tics for years until i saw this video. I thought it was something normal and didn't know that it even has a name 😔. I have motor tics in my ankle, neck, blinking eyes, ears and shoulders wtf 😭
Tourettes is caused by TMJ. 9 out of the 12 cranial nerves pass through the TMJ and it is the fifth one (trigeminal nerve) that causes the symptoms of Tourette's and many other neurological disorders. It is a structural issue.
Great video bro, my wife and I noticed tics in our daughter about age 3, where she’d move her jaws and then twitch her neck. Then it just went away after a couple of months, now it’s back again at age 7. So we are just gonna do as we did, ignore it, make her happy and comfortable and see if it goes away again on its own. But she always seemed to have like anger issues where she would clench her fists when she gets upset, but that’s about it, thx bro.
I have tourettes and was diagnosed when I was young. I mostly just have motor tics like jerking my head and twitching my nose. Sometimes I'll honk or growl. I'm working on learning more about it.

Is it unusual for a girl to develop ticks at 14? My daughter just started doing them this week. At first I thought it was just a phase. Then, in her sleep, she was throwing her head back the same way she does when she's awake. I realized it's real.
I've had like very mild tics for a couple of years, but it was never so bad that it bothered me. Now for a while they've been more frequent and interfering with my life, but my dad thinks it's normal so I can't really get a diagnosis for anything. It's really overwhelming because I keep being told to not and I can't.
I always clear my throat and cough and it annoys the hell out of me. I can’t go to the doctor or the neurologist or anything cause it’s too expensive. My parents never took me to one either for some reason even though my tics were clearly visible, in fact they always yell at me to stop clearing my throat and coughing. So I don’t know what to do about it

I don’t know if I have the same thing, but whenever I see a surface or just something random I just think “hit” and as soon as I think that, I AGGRESSIVELY hit it lol
Not sure if you’ll see it, but personally I would watch it. If you also are absolutely not doing it on purpose it may be a tic. But feel free to reply if you have questions, but tics are also new to me too
Oh God, I didn't know I was that bad. 😔 I can't wait for some treatment I have complex motor and vocal tics they never manifest as regular words tho. I shake my head, inhale, blink, flex either all at the same time or just 1 or two 😂 damn it's difficult. I shake my head to the point of a bad headache sometimes. Then I shake it even harder
This is a year late, but I wanted to say thank you for uploading this video. I've had small tics since my freshman year that are uncontrollable whenever I eat junk food (I've found that eating strictly meal preps for four days gives me some level of control. When I stop though, I go back to having tics.) I know that when I go to college I'll have to eat junk food/party eventually with my friends, and I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.
Your comfort ability should matter far more than your friends discomfort of being around you while you tic. You're human and worthy of respect, kindness, and even love.
I started having this problem in the middle of summer it was weird Startered having these weird thing in my throat it sound like I was burping but I was clicking my throat and peolpe just stared at me. Then my doctor describe me with anxiety meds and my throat is over passing that? Do I Tourette’s?
I’ve recently developed some tics which is crazy confusing because they kind of came out of nowhere. Examples: pulling left arm into my body like a bird, jarring right arm straight, lifting right shoulder, shaking head side to side, head jarring into right shoulder, left hand slapping legs, and the last one is saying “doot doot doodlebops”. For this one, it started about 2 months ago and went away two weeks ago.
I've this two motor tics (1) Chewing the soft skin or layer of inner cheek with teeth . (2) cracking the jawbone's joint. I look like a weirdo in the public but the 2nd tic feels so satisfying. Is it only me to feel this way?
had motor and verbal tics for 5 maybe 6 years which started as a hum and a neck twitch but over the years they become more loud and painful like hitting, my family claims they go away for a bit and come back but they are always there, just quiet or because I try stop them because I dont like people pointing them out... aaaaaa I just- I don't know what to do. and they are hard to deal with some time.
What leads to the particular vocal tick, though? Like, what if someone has never heard the f word? They have to know a language to use it, so what makes that particular word or sound stick?
I like this video because I wanted to know of there is a difference between having tics and Tourette's because I have stuff that are tics that is out of habit and I can probably stop it but... I don't know. It's like one of those things I can't really help like "it just happens". Like finger snapping or making weird noise or saying something so random. It's not forced but it comes out of nowhere. When I was little I was told some of them was nervous tics but now I'm thinking maybe I have more tics than I think. Because randomly I'll make mario sounds or say "wow" like yoshi or other weird noises or words.
I don't know if I have chills or tics. I get this feeling that makes my whole body just move. Usually, my head yanks to the left or immediately tilts to the right while my body just thrashes for one second. I get a weird feeling before it comes on. Sometimes when this happens I make a noise but not all the time. I've had it for so long...idk
Hello Nathan, my son had motor and vocal tics a year ago. He was 6 that time then a year later it came out again but this time its getting worst, his saying obsene words, his cursing and some vocal sounds that he's making. I really get annoyed and always telling him to stop. I even threatened him and sometimes I hurt him just to make him stop. I am really worried because as of the moment its holiday here in the Philippines and the clinics will resume by January. Don't really know what to do.
I have a bunch of tics, I scrunch my eyes closed, I throw my head to the side, I scrunch one of my eyes closed, sometimes I’ll throw my head down while scrunching my eyes closed and sometimes I’ll roll my arm but I rarely ever do that .But I don’t have any vocal tics. I’m just really confused as it’s only be happening for about a week and I don’t really know if I have Tourette’s or not.
Is this normal? since Tuesday I have been head jerking I can't stop it, and sometimes my arms move along with my head as well. And it only happens at school, rarely at home.
Video games tend to be a time where tics happen more. Mainly because the person is in a pretty relaxed state. It tends to happen more when people are bored or over stimulated.
Hey im 14 yo boy and I have only noticed this about 2 months ago and I have sudden head movements and sometimes make this weird grunt noise and I was also diagnosed with OCD not long ago aswell so I'm really confused
I just learned i have tics too and im 47 years old. i learned to live with it for 20yrs plus but lately i feel its getting worser to where i needed medication for it r otherwise i would do anything just to ease my blinking problems. I dont how many times i went to see the doctor for my problem during the 90s. I always knew something is wrong inside my head like something squeezing it and i would blink just to ease it. I started having dry lips during my 20s then sniffling a couple years ago. And now i was starting to have sleepless nights. I would just do anything just to sleep..drugs n alcohol. But now i use clonidine and pregablin which it works i find good but not totally.
I deal with a complex tic I have it in my arm neck I'm verry depressed Idk how to live life I don't feel normal I hate who I am. I was diagnosed at 5 with a verbal one it went away I'm 23 now they got a little better but o still feel them coming on I can push them off and then I different one will fallow I dont have health insurance right now so I can't get on meds I used to take to Strattera, clonidine and intuniv I was never Shure if they ever worked but I just can't seem to find my place or any coping skills that work if you could please help

Medication will not make them go away. They are only for dulling the urge to tic. My daughter has Tourettes since kindergarten and is now 21. There is nothing that can be done. The only thing that helps keep them mild is a clean diet, quality supplements, exercise, and just generally a healthy lifestyle.
I had a tic in my neck that wouldn't go away and now I thought I had tics so I started to have vocal tics. And as.much as I don't want to admit it I think I'm faking but can't stop them if you know what I mean, like I get prepared to do it but can't stop.it it's weird
i jut started researching about tics but i have these kind of movements since i was a kid up to now at the age of 20. I didn't know that this is a disorder or something. I thought it was only a simple mannerisms that i still can control but i think no.. after watching this video i had and still have these example movements on the lists.
I have recently been tensing my stomach and taking extremely deep breaths quite randomly and happens very often and I sometimes tense my arms as well. I don’t want to call it a tic because it has only been happening for a month but I am quite concerned. I am 13 and I don’t want to self diagnose with a tic but I rlly want to get checked out but I don’t know how. Please someone give advise. Thank you
When I was a kid I did a lot of hand flapping and shaking. But it eventually went away. I went my teen years completely free from them. Then in college an eye blink began. It's like a hard blink and feels like a tightness in the muscles around my eyes. It's a constant thing occuring throughout the day. No specific time for activity that inspires it most. Just all the time. But it causes migrains, so it's really dibilitating. They went away after a couple months and then came back at age 24. Again, they persisted for a couple months and stopped. Now I'm fighting them again at age 25. I'm not even sure if it's a tic it a muscle problem or what. It is so hard to explain and I can't find anyone who knows what's happening.
is shaking your leg (back and forth like rocking) a tic? i do it when sleeping (before i sleep), sitting, laying down etc... it’s been happening for a long time (4 yrs +) and i haven’t been concerned until recently, i started to blink a bit and twitch my head (rarely). is this a tic?
Sometimes I stretched my bones and make a weird face it’s like a habit and I also start to shake like a second I can 100% control it but my body really wants to do it, is this a tic?
If you can control it 100% then now its probably not. I can control my tics but a few seconds later another tic is already going off without me realizing it
Hey I just wondering that ummm Lately My noes starts twitching and I can’t help it and yesterday I had this urge to knock the cup of the table which had water in it... it’s only just started.my class mate own has tics he Breves really loudly and sniffs all the time. What do you think this is? And wen he does my noes twitches I’ve only realised it.
I think a kid in my class MIGHT have tics, or maybe it's something else, idk, but sometimes in class he will just go like: "AHHHH" or like grunt? Idk, it doesn't happen a lot though.
I’m finding out if I try nathan’s techniques I can control them but when I’m not thinking about helping myself with these annoying tics they get out of hand.
I think a kid who comes to my home for tuition has tic. He makes some movement with his mouth and throat often, involuntarily. He's like 10 yrs old. Should it be treated? Coz I didn't knew about tic before. I don't know much about it.
I need help with this so plss someone respond.. I keep sticking my tongue out and weird movements with my mouth, i used to purposely do this but now I just do it automatically, like I control it I just have the urge to do it. I also used to move my arm/hand while sticking out my tongue and closing one eye but I did all that on purpose now it's just like a habit I have the urge to do. Idk if I have tics or adhd and I really wanna get checked out for it but my mom will get scared if she even THINKS there's something mentally wrong with me someone help! Dont feel bad. Its ok 👌 🙂 Ive been there.
i dont have tourettes, but i have a tic that hurts my neck, its a rly violent twitch/jerk and its SO FJCKGKFKFK embarrassing when it happens in public, i feel like ppl think im a nutcase kfkfdk
I have one where I move my neck forward aggressively and sniff in continuously it’s hard to breath and it’s so tiring
Same:(
My son developed this same tic this year. It really causes a lot of muscle stiffness and pain in his back and neck.
I used to have the same thing, then it went away and now I have a tic of raising my eyebrows
i have the exact same tic and its really annoying my neck hurts like hell all the time
I've had tics since I can remember, andI'm 37 now.
Do more videos on tics! I think you're the first person to actually help me with this thank you so much.
Me having a minnie tic attack while watching this but still watching this so i can explain my tics to my class

HOWD IT GO?

I am so glad it was clear and well received!
Ahhhhh! Trigger/Tic warning! When he’s talking about tics, he acts them out. That just made my tics crazy...
I have head tics from my anxiety and its so embassing
same but Idk if its tourettes cause when it's bad I say ' oo '

Actually a nice video that describes tics! Thanks~
I really liked the example when try to not blink. It basically describes how tics feel, pretty accurate.
That's wonderful! I'm glad it was helpful for you! I hope you can find some relief! 👍🏻
This is such a great video specially for parents who are anxious about what to expect from kids with Tics. Thank you
Mine have started in October, I still remember when I was making a noise that I couldn’t control in front of my dad, he practically said “what in the hell are you doing!?” And ever since then when I’m around him I just suppress them. I honestly hate it- I tried bringing it up but he pushed it off and said “oh! They’re just muscle spasms!” So now I’m starting to think that they are, but I know deep inside they’re tics-
Can someone else relate to this? I don’t wanna feel alone-
Yeah I've had weird tics but they always have like conditions before they happen, like I have a really common when I have to pee. But I just saw a tiktok where they used a filter and wiggled their finger in a way that stuck with me, and now whenever I have downtime in my videogame I wag my finger and then roll my wrist because it just feels uncomfortable
You’re not alone. My dad makes fun of my tics too. It’s the worst when he imitates them
I've had some of my tics since i was about 7-8 ish.. im 33 now. most prominent ones are the Hmm noise, hard blinking, shoulder shrugging, nodding head, and a recent one I've had occur is like I'm trying to look angry with my eyebrows, the first one i had when i was young that thankfully didn't stick around is i would stick my pinky out, like how you imagine posh people would drink tea. but it was all the time and really annoyed my mum lol.
never really spoke out about them before to be honest, and im trying to learn more about tics so i can better understand why i do them and possibly how to reduce them maybe. So thank you for this video, its help to describe the feeling i get to people that dont understand.
I heard a solid half of he things he said in this video because one of my many tics it SO LOUD!

。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。
Its been happening for 2 years and its been slowly getting worse.
R u consult neurologist ? Now your prblm was solved ??
@@kalaiarasan5234 I saw the neurologist. He gave me medication that helps with the tics, but they aren’t gone. I see a psychiatrist and a therapist now to work on ways to manage and deal with them.
Hi I don’t want to tell my mom about my tics because I feel like they will prescribe medication but I hate medication I would love therapy but I’m not sure how to get that without telling my parents for now I just try competitive tics and deep breathing
My tics are so bad that medications don’t do anything
I am a huge fan of your TH-cam channel my friend told me about you and I have severe Tourette’s syndrome and tic attacks I had a tic disorder at the age of 7 then got tragically worst at the age of 20 years old I am 25 and I have had bad attacks and swearing tics called coprolalia I can’t wait for more content
What if I have tics as a compulsion due to ocd?
Im 35 and have tics since i was a young child, i dont have tourettes though. I just want these to stop, im getting lines between my brows, i hurt my neck, i tap my legs over and over. Its driving me insane 😢😢 I do absolutely loads of different tics, hold my breath it's exhausting 😢😢
I tic alot when I get cold and its a hiccup tic! Haha, ik its not hiccups tho (they feel different) I also jerk my head and limbs when this happens. I’ve had this all my life and I notice when Im really cold they get really aggressive :/ I dont understand why the cold triggers it??
Same lol
Ive had so many tics and the one i have right now is gasping over and over
I’ve been struggling with breathing tics for my entire life and I’m in my teen years now. I know for a fact that breathing all weird with no apparent explanation can really affect you physically and psychologically. I just realized that I could have Tourette’s recently and while it didn’t stop it, I was able to feel less alone.
Oh I used to have tics were It’s hard for me to breathe I think it’s the worse tic I’ve ever had and hopefully no one else gets it.
My tics started right before my 27th birthday for no reason. I’m now 35 and they have only increased with time. Motor and vocal. Nobody can figure it out.
Oh no. I am so sorry. CBIT treatment tends to be the first go to if you can find someone near you that can do it. 👊
@@ocdandanxiety hey Hi I have abnormal blinking but mostly when I play games on phone .

Hey would you please explain the reason behind it.

@Blake Hargrove omg same
i don't have tourettes, but i ad had nervous ticks come and go, but i have this one nervous tic, where i wiggle my tungue around my teeth and across my cheeks, and then push my cheek to my teeth and chomp dow, or i keep my hand down and bite chunks of my tongue instead, and if i fight it the urge, my stomach twists and i feel awful until i can finally chew down on my cheek or tongue, i also have a hair pulling nervous tic that has finally started to go away after almost 20 years!
This sounds exactly like my son’s experience.
Motor and vocal here. I use a lot of soul searching and calming techniques to keep my tics under wraps!
11 Years since i've lived with those tics n sh*t Feels so bad. I cant stop...
You're doing a great job. Keep it up
Thanks so much! This honestly means a lot!!👍🏻
im a little worried- so ive had "stress" twitches since i was like 9. i was never diagnosed with Tourettes. my twitches have progressively gotten worse. like i have some of the ones you've mentioned in this which is: neck twitches, such as jerking my neck to the side, backward, stiffening it, and forwards. another one is twitching/stiffening my legs and stomach and arm, sometimes i have a beat that i cant quite satisfy. another one you mentioned was not satisfying my breath. i have times where i feel like i cant breathe and i try super hard to breath properly and the way i fix it is usually by yawning. i also have eye twitches where i squint my eyes and shake them and roll them back into my head. also sometimes i do a little grunt and clear my throat or make a little squeak (i dont open my mouth during any of these.) also i adjust my jaw a lot, like i open it without opening my mouth and stiffen it and move it around. also, ive seen videos with people with tics and i do get slightly triggered by them. ive had these for 3 years now and my parents say "u should stop." its like really uncomfortable and uncontrollable. my parents havent brought me to anyone to see. should i be worried? theyre not horrible like they arent preventing me from living or anything- its just that ive been told its stress since i got it so i havent really looked into it very much until they got worse like a year ago. For the past year and a half I've been having a specific tic, touching my head to my shoulder while that side of my upper torso twitches, my friends and family have seen me do it but I say it's just a cold flash, I'm too scared to bring it up to my parents, could you maybe give me some advice:)?
im super scared now... i have no practitional doctor and i dont remember my last checkup but i m self diagnosing myself with so much mental health disorder .qefhinwrg
Just dont move your fingers like that"
LIke stf let me do my thing gawd lmao
What really bothers me that i cant even chill normaly if im a bit stressed. The tics occur even in bed. When im trying to sleep .-.
I don’t have them lasting more than a year but I almost always have one tic .When one leaves I get another one soon after and it’s constant
Since like one month I feel like doing things I don't wanna do and I can't control it so now I'm here to find out what it is
How are you now
Wow i never know that i was diagnosed with motor tics for years until i saw this video. I thought it was something normal and didn't know that it even has a name 😔.
I have motor tics in my ankle, neck, blinking eyes, ears and shoulders wtf 😭
sir... i dont wanna do self diagnose but i think i have motor tics :( idk my muscle moves by itself
I'm working on learning more about it.
yes i have tics, tourette and adhd i dont realy remember if i have anything Else but i sure hate it, most tics. I Am 12 years old and am from Norway and i am in Norway right now, thanks for the help i Will watch the threatment training now and remember stay at home covid is sh!t
My vocal tics are worse when Im sitting in the car and driving
Is it unusual for a girl to develop ticks at 14? My daughter just started doing them this week. At first I thought it was just a phase. Then, in her sleep, she was throwing her head back the same way she does when she's awake. I realized it's real.
hi I would suggest taking her to a doctor or someone who can help more :)
best of luck to you and your daughter
I rock back and forth when i sit and i've been trying to stop for years but nothing has worked yet ;-;
i had it real bad as a teen and gradually grew out of it,now that im older its less severe and its doesnt affect like it use to.
So I don’t know what to do about it
My tic started about 8 years ago as a nose twitch but now it's so bad it closes my eyes so much so that I cant drive. I'm at my wits end with it
My sister and my gf started having ticks and I’m trying to look into it :)
Great video.
Ever sense we went to the neurologist my dad now thinks i have 95% of control over my tics (i’ve been diagnosed with a motor and vocal tic disorder)
My 7 years old boy now always blinking his eyes with moving nose. He can't control it.
Oh no. I'm sorry. See if my treatment video can help him. th-cam.com/video/TH9HGS7HVF4/w-d-xo.html -- you can also look at www.tourette.org to find someone.
Im not sure if I have tics but I randomly start hitting myself and just slapping things around me; I don’t know it just comes in at random times
My parents don’t believe me. They think I want attention. I have trouble with keeping calm
Sad to know that, but im believe on you.
Sorry for bad English because im still learning
Yes and I’m overwhelmed .😥

You know what? I guess I haven't made it yet. Whoops! I'll see if I can bump up this up on my list of videos. 😃Thanks for the Reminder!
had motor and verbal tics for 5 maybe 6 years which started as a hum and a neck twitch but over the years they become more loud and painful like hitting, my family claims they go away for a bit and come back but they are always there, just quiet or because I try stop them because I dont like people pointing them out... aaaaaa I just- I don't know what to do. and they are hard to deal with some time.
Do you have therapists' recommendations in South Florida for a young adult male, please?
I have a question about vedio games and xbox os it affecting tics do it increse it do I stop it completely because he is keep asking about it
Video games tend to be a time where tics happen more. Mainly because the person is in a pretty relaxed state. It tends to happen more when people are bored or over stimulated.

Hi..Your video is really motivating..
My son aged around 18 I noticed those jerks and twitches during January 2023, I took him to a neurologist where he was diagnosed with tourette's, he was prescribed with some medicines and we had 3 visits so far to the same doctor ..But the condition of my son remains the same and worse...We are very worried...
I can control my tics but a few seconds later another tic is already going off without me realizing it
I tic but am not diagnosed yet and they got worse this year and noticeable. I am 43.
Hey
I just wondering that ummm
Lately My noes starts twitching and I can’t help it and yesterday I had this urge to knock the cup of the table which had water in it...
it’s only just started.my class mate own has tics he Breves really loudly and sniffs all the time.
Hey i have a tic where i shake my head and if i dont my body starts to feel empty what do i do
I think a kid who comes to my home for tuition has tic. He makes some movement with his mouth and throat often, involuntarily. He's like 10 yrs old. Should it be treated? Coz I didn't knew about tic before. I don't know much about it.
Amazing informations
I need help with this so plss someone respond..
I keep sticking my tongue out and weird movements with my mouth, i used to purposely do this but now I just do it automatically, like I control it I just have the urge to do it. I also used to move my arm/hand while sticking out my tongue and closing one eye but I did all that on purpose now it's just like a habit I have the urge to do. Idk if I have tics or adhd and I really wanna get checked out for it but my mom will get scared if she even THINKS there's something mentally wrong with me someone help!
(Edit) One of my eyes would kinda twitch but I didn't do this on purpose it would just happen, also when I did the staring contest I had the urge to blink right away and I just blinked..
My mom says I make a grunting noise but I don't hear it but I don't know what it is
