I just watched this video two days ago completely unaware about today's devastating news.
I'm gutted. One of my favorite UConn players, even though I didn't know him personally or even watch him play in a live game (remember those?) He had left UConn by the time I arrived at Storrs, but I followed his pro career with interest because he was, well, the best UConn player in the NBA for many years. His legacy is secure as the first star of the modern (Calhoun) era of UConn basketball, helping the program rise to national prominence and putting Storrs on the basketball map. Quite possibly we don't win four national titles without Cliff. As these clips show, he was quite a player and had the ability to take over a game. I remember the win at Syracuse - every big win felt special back then!
Truly a sad day for all Huskies fans, although Cliff was so much more than just a great UConn player, of course.
2020 is not a good year for former UConn stars named Robinson.
