Hey Monter! I liked watching you play, you worked hard. What I will always remember about Chris Kingsbury according to the announcers "He never met a shot he didn't like", and that was following a shot when he wasn't very far beyond half court line. It has been so much fun to watch all of our Hawks over the years.
Wanted that old magic voodoo, Jbo is deadly, and probably one of the most clutch players we've ever had. I'm watching, just pulling hair out as usual.@@Grizzly_Adam
I live on n Souix City Iowa where Chris Kingsbury is now and have lots of basketball camps with him just truly amazing that I get to meet him and see what he is up to these days!!
He wasn't just a shooter or even just a basketball player. He was a tremendous all around athlete who you just know quarterbacked every football team he was ever on growing up, jacked homers just when they were needed for any baseball team he ever played for, and on, and on. Probably has a few holes-in-one and 300 games on the lanes to boot! Ha! What an athlete!
went to junior and senior high with him. his 7th and 8th grade teams never lost. Crazy good shooter. Played varsity in High School as freshman. He's a bank exec in Nebraska now.
I remember Kingsbury he swished a fade--away turn-around jumper in front of the scorer's table. It was a contested shot. Think about that: The defender was taking his J seriously at half-court. Think of the amazing things he could have done if he could have given up drink. He used to drink at the Column before games. A truly ridiculous athlete.
oh how l miss watching this show in Carver. wish the Hawks would get themselves a player that could shoot like this. talk about a guy that got the crowd in a frenzy with his long range shooting. oh the days
It got to be a joke when watching Kingsbury. He "never met a shot he didn't like". Carver-Hawkeye just roared whenever he'd drain a 3 from close to half court. I'd forgotten that he was good at the stripe too. This year we have a lot of talent but we can't seem to get it all together at the same time. Jordon Bohannon is who I would call our best player all-around, but he's dangerous beyond that 3 point arc.
This was such a great game. I went to Iowa's BBall camp the summer before this season. Getting Kingsbury's autograph was comedy. A bunch of the other players were on the court talking with us when we went to tour Carver. Chris was several rows up in the stands surrounded by girls wearing sunglasses. He talked like he had just stepped out of a rap video. When he was hot there was no limit to his range. I need the video of the behind the back fade-away from half court I saw him shoot that year.
I was his point guard at Iowa and roommate on the road. Best pure shooter I've ever played with hands down.
You were the man, Monter! Loved watching you play!
I always wondered how he didn’t play in the NBA if he did it wasn’t very long. What ever happened to him?
Sean Crockett Might be a little late but he went to italy and then had kids and he wanted to be with his kids
You were a great Hawk, sir!

Kingsbury, Woolridge, settles. Loved these teams. Deadly from 3
Duke fan here, and Kingsbury has always been one of my all-time favorites. Thank you for posting this, sure takes me back!
Kingsbury crosses half court and he was an instant threat. Guy was a straight up assassin. Love those Hawkeye memories.
Joe Tigerhawk What are you doing watching TH-cam while the Hawks are playing a close game? Bohannon is starting to remind me a lot of Kingsbury.

Joe Tigerhawk I'm getting a stomach condition watching them play in February this year.
This cat was a beast! I played against him a few times AAU. Loved his game. Hope all is well with him
One of the rare times Ray Allen was the 2nd best shooter on the court!
Had him as a coach. My friend's dad. Great Guy and Great Coach, wish there were more like him.

Woolridge was the man
his game vs. kentucky in the tourney was great
Iowa was so loaded then and very deep. Rotate the ball and press the shit out of the opponent. Russ, Andre, the King, Jess, Chris- all thick players!
This was my all-time favorite Iowa team!

One of the best players to come out of Hamilton High School the best high school game I ever saw was Kingsbury against ex UC Bearcat Damon Flint
I miss watching Kingsbury...i dunno if I've ever watched a better entertaining player play for my favorite team.
Armstrong, Street, White, and Garza were all pretty entertaining, though.
@@Grizzly_Adam Absolutely 💯 👌
When I was around 7ish Kingsbury was the one that sucked me into the world of 🏀

He was built for the pro game. Loved that long range bomber.
I went to Highschool with Chris big blue Hamilton. Didn’t really know him - but couldn’t help know of him. He was a star then. Could’ve went pro.
This guy is jacked, rare for such a pure shooter to have this much muscle
Thanks for the upload. Only had heard of him till now.
Tom Davis = Class
Dudes a tank aint he!
He made Iowa tough to defend.
that IOWA jersey was RAD AF
