You would think that LOTR fanboys would be far more upset since Gandalf lost while possessing one the most powerful artifacts in nerdom. At this point if I got the opportunity to direct a Star Wars film I would instead turn em down and have the studio just come out with make your damn Star Wars movies apps vs pandering to a bunch sad pathetic beta males whining over the internet.
@@moonlight5031 gandalf is a angel or god of natur something like that. not a man, just carrys the body of a old man. he is a mayar. one of the ainur and has even playd a role in the ainulindale/creation of arda (the world) just like sauron to is a mayar.
The actor portraying Anakin did a really really good Anakin. He even felt like Anakin. Superb job. Vader's voice is also faithfully menacing as well. The fight between Vader and Anakin seems so real and believable. :)
@@swaglevi4315 I feel like that all the time 🤷♂️ been watching @batinthesun since MySpace, felt like revisiting the classics for my Bday. And after 8 years, I still can't let it go: VADER CANNOT USE FORCE LIGHTNING!
Vader: The wizard's sword has as much or even more power than my lightsaber. Boy, gather your master's sword and perhaps I shall allow you to live. With this ring and sword, I shall become what my master could not. Now sword of Gandalf,.We shall see how you bleed.
Sadly you spell Gandolph which is Gandalf. This video is a hoax, a fanboy made up video. With lack of knowledge, passionless, fools who don't read books only comics. You don't know who's Olorín, Gandalf. Go do more research.
Kenice You mean Kinetite? Because Kinetite looks nothing like that, it's a sphere of electricity mixed with kinetic energy. It's an obscure technique, that's generated away from the user's body. Which makes it perfect for Vader, who's mechanical hands are literally incapable of channeling traditional force lightning, at least not without electrocuting Vader himself. Furthermore, Vader was only able to use it because of his close proximity to the Kaiburr crystal. You obviously don't know much about Star Wars, do you?
Men... Vader is incapable of throwing force electric rays. His armor and cybernetic implants were designed to stop him from doing such force technique.
It's simple as this: Gandalf is a Maia,a creature created by the Valar, the gods of Tolkien's Universe.Gandalf has an incredible enormous power, more than possibly any Jedi or Sith could even slightly reach, and his powers doesn't just apply to force fields, enchanting his sword or tricking minds. So Vader couldn't possibly defeat him, although the battle would be intense and long. The result of this battle is,as way many on this channel, given by the fans, not by the facts.
@@kylekuhn5882 That is because he swore an oath to never be in his true form in his quest to help and guide the people of middle earth. If we take aside the fact, that he could dispel any force power Vader could throw at him with a flicker of his eye, since the force in comparison to power given by pretty much god would be just illusion, Gandalfs true form would be allowed since this isn‘t anymore just about middle earth, but the whole of Arda (middle earth is the continent, and Arda the world). His true form would be an almost biblical angel. Something we cannot fully comprehend without going mad. Vader isn‘t able to win this one.
can force lightning as a darksider can emit it from anywhere. They usually choose their hands. Just because he has a robotic limb doesn't mean he can't use it.
Christopher Lee portrayed both Sauraman and Count Dooku. When asked which character would be victorious in battle, Mr. Lee, said that it was a silly question, and home field would give advantage, but gave the edge to the wizard.
@@billmarrison9090 but yea Gandalf the Grey did get pretty smacked about by him btw sorry if that previous comment was rude at all wasnt meaning to come off like that 😂😂
Grand Theft Gamer Nope. Gandalf would be fried to f*ck. Also Sidious in the EU has survived ROTJ, lived in clone bodies, ripped wormholes in space and destroyed entire rebel fleets, and teleported people across the galaxy. Or Sidious could just speedblitz and hack him up to pieces with his lightsaber.
I agree that Vader would almost certainly defeat Gandalf the Grey without much of an issue. That being said Vader would have little to no chance what so ever against Gandalf the White. Gandalf is not a human, he is an angelic being who is a direct agent of Eru Ilúvatar, Middle Earth's creation deity. He is immortal and ancient beyond human understanding. The key word in that previous sentence is Immortal.
That is not actually true. They are immortal, but their physical bodies can be destroyed. That being said Gandalf did die fighting the Balrog and Eru Ilúvatar sent him back. As a direct agent of the creator deity they are very much immortal in the truest sense of the word. Once physically destroyed he could be sent back just as he was in the books. Just so you are aware Webster defines Immortal as: the quality or state of someone or something that will never die, unending existence. You are speaking of biological immortality like that of tardigrades and some jellyfish.
BattleFrontStudios He only brought Gandalf back because he had yet to complete the task of ensuring that the One ring was destroyed. I always pictured Gandalf at the bottom of the chasm with the word continue floating in front of him and a countdown timer.
the only problem with that is that gandalf can be killed albeit temporarily, so a plasma sword cutting threw him would put him into a regeneration cycle.
The problem with killing Gandalf the Grey is that he won't leave it there. If you strike him down, he really does become more powerful, and reincarnates as Gandalf the White.
See, this is why this entire series is flawed. It's a popularity contest, so the most well known character is always going to win. So, just like batman in the justice league, the writers have to ignore logic and continuity and come up with contrived ways for the most popular guy to win. Gandalf is a DEMIGOD. one of the Maiar. He literally can't die unless Eru the god wills it. Most people wouldn't know that, so they just assume that vader would win, but the general public aren't experts on this, and usually pick the character they just like the most. There is some good film making going on here, so it's a shame to see them constantly having to bend the rules to fit with public opinion. P.S. I know it's been said a lot, but Vader isn't able to use force lightning.
I know Gandalf is really powerful and all but it really pisses me off that, at least in the lord of the ring trilogy, his strongest attack in war was a fucking flashlight. That doesn't really make him look very strong at all.
***** He's a god but has limitations when interfering with the affairs of mortals. If he wished he could of single handedly taken down the entire orcish army and Sauron but that would break the rules. In reality he is merely a guide for mortals so that they can defeat Sauron.
Darth Vader NEVER uses force lighting. He can but if he did he'd damage his cyborg arms and his life support systems that he relies on that keeps him alive.
I thought he COULD OF learned before he became dependent on the "suit". Its possible that he could of out of his left hand but considering that Ventress never did in TCW but did in the older one (I THINK) he might not of learned. I'd be funny if he could use it. Because it wouldn't come out of his hands, I'd have to come from his body XD Funny when you think about what'd it look like if he tried to without his suit. In the older Clone Wars he's still able to use the force out of his ROBOTIC HAND despite it being blown off. I guess his arm then. Plo-Koon used something similar to force lighting but only for stun use.
Wow! I got the "heebie jeebies" when Gandalph transformed into Anakin! What an amazing plot twist and a truly epic battle! Remember, not only does Gandalph possess incredible magic power, but he is also 24 thousand years old, and is in reality a supernatural being who defeated a Balrog in hand-to-hand combat! Gandalph should have won!
Gandalf's magic has alot of unpredictable things, whereas Vader's skillset is well known and fairly straight forward. However, Tolkien always crafted Gandalf as someone that was capable of more but only used exactly what power he needed to at the exact right time, same so with the elves. That unpredictability of what he can actually do makes me lean towards Gandalf.
+Riley Fisher any jedi could win. or if i was a jedi i would use the same tactic with evryone but this one could have a diff one. for take the wand snap it in 2 and thier fucked
Captain Hotdog yeah I thought that was sketchy too, ut technically he can, he just doesn't because he hasn't mastered it, plus it's too detrimental to his respiratory system.
In depth, both his hands were burnt and replaced with cybernetics making it to where if he used it the electricity would flow through the hands, up the body and use it against himself
Jairo Buchting I'm reading from a different cannon sources that the same thing "his mechanical arms prevent him from creating Force lightning" What are you reading?
Technically, he can't create force lightning because it would risk damage to his life support, not because of his organic limbs. Theoretically, he could generate it, but it would be risky to do. However, Vader can generate a form of lightning called Kinetite, which he probably used in the video. Vader's suit CAN NOT generate lightning.
+Catter Peener I would rather see Gandalf be set against Elminster Aumar from D&D Forgotten Realms if all possible, for Elminster Aumar is Gandalf's True Rival & Ultimate Imitator for different reasons since August of 1987, still remains that way to this day.
There's a mistake here. Vader can't use Force Lightning because his suit is highly sensitive to electrical discharges. The lowest intensity bursts can cause his limbs to seize up while higher intensities can damage everything and kill him. If he tries using it, he's gonna end up doing more damage to himself than his opponent, and end up killing himself
No. OH MY GOD! In Episode 2 Attack of the Clones, Count Dooku cut his right arm off and in Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi cut his left arm and both his legs off. Get your facts right bro
Let me forever bury this argument once and for all. Vader was using "Kinetite" however the creators of this dual got the details of Kinetite incorrectly and made it look like a common Force Lightning. So there you go case closed.
been watching @batinthesun since MySpace, felt like revisiting the classics for my Bday. And after 8 years, I still can't let it go: VADER CANNOT USE FORCE LIGHTNING! now on the one hand, all Gandalf had to do was damage Vader's life support system. However, with the Sith being sorcerers themselves in a way, I think he might be able to counter any of Gandalf's magic. But the important thing is, we're only talking about Gandalf the Grey. If this was demi-god Gandalf the White, he could've handled Vader no problem
@Ep B1az3 actually, according to the Legends timeline, midichlorians didn't actually cause the Force, they just accumulated in the blood of people who were Force-sensitive. But if we are taking all of Disney's retcons into account, Vader should actually be WEAKER since everything we've seen Jedi & Sith capable of in novels, comic books, and video games "officially" never happened. On a personal note, with all the calls to break up Big Tech because of their violations of anti-trust laws, I want Disney to be broken up. Forced to sell off all their acquired assets over the past decade. Lucasfilm, Marvel, 20th Century Fox, etc. The only reason Gandalf didn't do more in LOTR was because he doesn't want the mortal races to become dependent on the wizards to solve all their problems for them.
Gandalf is effectively a God, Vader is not. Gandalf is the wisest and most powerful Maiar (who helped the Vala to the shape the world) whereas Vader is a mortal. Gandalf uses very little of his power in the books because if he wanted to he could effectively destroy Middle Earth.
Meme Notyou Unlike Vader he had to look after companions. And last time I checked when Vader died, he stayed dead, whereas when Gandalf died he just became even more powerful.
Vader could not use force lightning. He never learned to use it in the first place. And he would have lost that ability when he became a half mechanical man. Look it up. Yes I know I'm being a giant dork. But a correct giant dork.
hey Vader can use force lightning but it hurts him and damages his armor and it was sideous original plan for vader because almost all sith lords in the past used force lightning
GENERICNAMED he physically CANNOT use Force lightning because he does not have a natural hand, which prohibits him from channeling it. Get your facts straight
In the Revenge of the Sith Visual Dictionary, under Darth Vader, in the Data File, it says -"As a result of having artificial arms, Darth Vader will never be able to conjure Sith lightning-nor be invulnerable to it."
The fight looked epic but it's kind of bullshit. Gandalf is a Maiayar, he's like an multidimensional angel. The old man is just the form we see. He also slays fallen angels and Vader is just handicapped, asthmatic cyborg. however Darth Sidious vs Gandalf would be an interesting fight.
Alucard BloodyVampire Exactly. Gandalf is an Istari and the gods created them to fight other gods. Gandalf's form as an old man was just an affectation and not Gandalf's true form.
Props to the people who made this for respect the votes, but this would never happen. Gandalf (even when he was "just" Gandalf the Grey) is a divine being in the LOTRverse, there is no way Darth Vader would be able to take him.
That was just the movies trying to boss up the Wicth King; it doesn't happen like that in the books. That said, however, the ring-wraithes draw their power from a (previously) divine being, so the Witch King is still above Vader anyway, I think.
GreenZubat Y'know, technically, the force is a divine being, and Vader, like all other Jedi and Sith, draws his power directly from it. So Vader is AT LEAST Witch-King level.
Ok, I did not know if that scene was cannon or not. I would say Vader is about equal to the Witch King, but I do not know how Gandalf would fair against the Witch King, and that is Gandalf the White I am referring too. All in all I would say Vader could take Gandalf the Grey, but not Gandalf the White.
Ohai Driku The force is not divine, it's just mystical in a vague way. Ironically, the force is more akin to magic, and jedi to wizards, in the proper sense most people think of than the LotR "wizards", who are actually five angels sent by God (Eru Illuvatar) to repel Sauron. At the end of the day, for all his dark side powers, Vader is still just a mortal man, below the immortal, divine Gandalf. In this respect, I find it hard to believe Vader would be more powerful than Gandalf (Grey or White).
Soo here’s some knowledge for you Gandalf: is over 7,000 years old in TLOR Is basically a god in human form not a mere wizard Has fought and beaten other Demi/semi gods in the series Lord Vader: exceedingly skilled in the force and swordplay One of the toughest warriors in his galaxy Pretty sure wouldn’t be able to use the lightning bc of his cybernetics (he’d prob EMP himself) Vader is badass! No question there. Gandalf is a deity. This isn’t a fight, it’s a dream.
I forgot what other force power Vader has is called but it's like force lightning but it is more on the side of kinetic energy. Plo Koon also uses this power
***** No he didn't. He's been a great actor everywhere else, and his VISUAL acting even in Ep 2 and 3 is really great. His line delivery is garbage, and so is Natalie Portman's, another good actor in every other movie. No, he didn't ruin Star Wars, George Lucas' retarded "directing" did.
+nate “rocker” rackenstien Next to jar jar binks and the actor who played anakin as a child, i'm starting to notice a trend of anakin actors being absolute shit.
They should have used Gandalf the white not grey. They should fight at their best. That being said Vader's power has been described in depth where as Gandalf's really hasn't, Tolken never stated his limits. There for who's to say he couldn't just call down a massive bolt of lightning and fry vader.
6:21 This guy should have been Anakin. Dude I swear Hayden does not feel canon at all anymore. I've been binge watching the Clone Wars so much lately and that portrayal is perfect......Plus, he looks like Luke which is a +1
Ehhh....I still prefer Hayden. He looks a lot like a live action version of clone wars anakin though. But Hayden will always be Anakin to me, it's just burned into my brain even though he wasn't that good. If they remade the prequels and used this guy my brain would refuse it as canon and wonder wtf I'm watching, lol.
For all those people who say Vader can't use Force Lightning, yes he can. In both Disney Canon and Legends he uses an external lightning in the form of a Sphere. A sort of Sith ball lightning. He's used in in many fights in both cannons. He may not be able to use it in the way portrayed here, he does possess this ability.
+Valdemire Kreshnov As far as I understand, it gives you power depending on how powerful you already are. That is why Gandalf did not wanted to even touch the ring he said that the power would be too terrible for him to wield. Also it controls the other rings and gives mind control abilities.
+Valdemire Kreshnov The One Ring doesn't do anything to anyone, aside from the invisibility thing :). To be honest, we don't know what other powers it could grant, as the only person to wear the ring, aside from Bilbo and Frodo, was Isildur, and even he didn't note any other powers. To put it simply, the ONE Ring will corrupt the user into a pale imitation of Sauron. I think what Farrex was getting at with "powers" was the other rings, which did grant various other powers, though in the end they were ultimately created to be controlled by the One. Not sure where the "mind control" abilities comes from, because wouldn't Gollum have been able to just mind control Bilbo? Or exibit some formof mind control in the caves? But he doesn't. It has mind control powers ONLY for the one that created it. Then again, it HAS been a long time since I've read through Tolkiens earlier works, so I could be mistaken :)
sapherno11 I have not read Simarillion nor the Hobbit book, but a friend that has, told me that it has mind control abilities. That through those mind control abilities was the way that Sauron tricked everyone into thinking that he was an Elf and was able to give the rings. Also several people in other comments here mentioned the mind control abilities. As for the power one I have heard several people mention it on the internet and I simply thought it was real, people that they claim that they have read the books several times, but well you never know. Also when Gandalf refuses to take the ring in the Shire, he says that if he touches the ring the power would be too terrible for him to wield. Also it does not turn you invisible, it rather brings you to wraith world, where someone with knowledge of the wraith world could take advantage of it, but for a hobbit that knows nothing of the wraith world, well he just becomes invisible and sees some weird shit.
I've read both, and from what your friend said, I don't think he read them either, or very well. Basically, what happened was Morgoth, The Enemy, was defeated, and Sauron took his place. He attempted to destroy the Numenoreans, and eventually did so by tricking them, making them think, through treachery and deciet that he had "repented", when he had not. One of the ways he made them think he had changed, was he granted them knowledge of the Maia, specifically the Rings of Power. However, nobody knew he had made the Rings to rule all until HE put on the Ruling Ring, and the Elves knew, and warned the others, though it was far too late to save Numenor. Everyone knew Sauron was NOT an elf though, they knew he was a Maia. Not to point holes again, but just because someone mentions it, doesn't mean its true. the RULING Ring DOES have mind control powers. ONLY for Sauron, that effect does not work with anyone else. And each of the regular Rings of Power, the ones with actual powers, Gave the strength to "Govern each Race". Same with the "Powers". As far as I know, it only grants additional powers TO Sauron, or rather, to the Master of the Ring, and to no other. The other rings did grant additional powers, though at terrible cost. I"m well aware what Gandalf says, and more specifically, he says this. "I would wield this power for Good, but Through me, the Ring would wield a power too great and terrible to imagine." Meaning that if Gandalf had attempted to use the Ring, he would have become, possibly, more great and terrible a threat then Sauron ever had, Controlled by the power of the One Ring, corrupted by it, and becoming a pale shadow of Sauron.
Gandalf would win. Because good beats evil... or at least he would turn Vader good. That, and he's there to enact Eru Illuvatar's plan (that's the god that created middle earth, very much like the omnipotent, omniscient god of the catholic faith). That said: Gandalf's power is not "normal" magic, that's why he uses Glamdring. His magic is a manifestation of his power and lies more in advising and manuvering and planning, the Istari were not sent to middle earth to battle Sauron and contest with him (Saruman's mistake) but to unify the Free Peoples to end the threat (Radagast forgot about this part and that is why he failed). Also, Gandalf is not 2000 years old, he is age less, he existed before time did, he was created by Eru Illuvatar before Arda (the universe in which Middle Earth exists) was, he actaully helped to design it, along with Radagast, the Blue Wizards, Saruman, Sauron, the Balrogs, Morgoth (Sauron's old boss) and all the other Ainur (that was before any of them turned bad, that was started by the most powerful among them Melkor, later known as Morgoth, who took with him the Balrogs, fire spirits, and Sauron and many others.). The good Ainur are later subdivided into Valar, the leaders among them and the most powerful, and the Maiar, the Istari, the Sun, the Moon, Luthien Tinuviel's mother among others belong to this group, Elbereth, to whom the elves sing in Fellowship is a Valar, The Lady of the Stars, wife of Manwe, leader of the Valar. A battle between "magic users" (powerful elves could contend with the Ainur in earlier times: Luthien beat Sauron in a one-on-one) is a battle of wills. The balrog's shadow (they have no wings, firstly, it is describes as "man-shaped", and secondly, the line in the book is "the shadow about it reached out LIKE two vast wings", it is a simile!) and flame are manifestations of his power, as are the white flames Gandalf conjures up. The battle of wills is reflected in the diming of the balrog's flames, or the spreading of his shadows and the corresponding brightening and diming of Gandalf's light and the stab of white flame he sends the balrogs way at one point. Gandalf is very powerful, there are VERY few people who have managed to kill Balrogs and most have died in the process. A few were sent back, like Gandalf, because there was unfinished business. But again, the main reason Gandalf would win is because he would be fighting on the side of good, and good always wins. Cheers :)
I think everything in this video is fairly accurate except for the fact that Frodo wouldn’t give up the ring that easily. Whether or not it already had hold of him.
In what way is this fairly accurate it's literally outright stated that it's rigged Invaders favor also gandalf could've just used a lightning spell or something along those lines.
If Darth Vader returned to the galaxy far far away, he wouldn't have to. The other option of taking on Sauron is not in Vaders favor. As Sauron is the rings one true master, they are a part of each other and it would betray Vader somehow into his own demise.
Brett Holtz You do realize that's not how the ring works... The ring has 1 true master and seeing how easily Anakin was corrupted from the light to dark, Sauron would easily take full control of him even more than Palpatine. Sauron is the great deceiver, the ring only has 1 master, Sauron. Sauron wouldn't destroy Vader, he would use him.
I'd complain about the force lightning but hell, it was a good fight and they portrayed both well. Gandalf put up a good fight, and while I'm miffed he lost, he had a good death! So I'm happy. Plus, the Vader vs Anakin bit was REAL good stuff!
Scioneer vader would destroy Gandalf especially the comics version.he just needs to force choke him then get his sabre and cut him in half don’t know how you think Gandalf could win I guess your just a Gandalf fanboy.
@@spider-man5262 It's called 'drawing a logical conclusion', sadly for you. Gandalf is not only not human - in actuality he IS a demigod, not only has one of the elvish rings, but his depictions in the movies let out one crucial detail. Gandalf - as well as his fellow Wizards - are only permitted to use a small part of their actual power while in Middle-Earth, since their mission is to guide the mortal races against Sauron, not fight him themselves. So no, Vader stands no actual chance, despite your "fanboyism".
That restriction would still apply to this fight, since it was set in middle earth,Vader has no such restriction, plus he's essentially evil space jesus
+John Smith Gandalf isn't a human. He is Maiar which is Middle Earth equivalent of an angel. Gandalf is also immortal and would just be resurrected back. Gandalf also isn't fighting at full strength, since he was restricted from using even a fraction of his powers by Eru. Who is the Middle Earth's equivalent of the God of Abraham. The reason for the restriction because his job was to help the elves, dwarves, hobbits and men fix their problems through guidance and not power. The match up is stupid since you are putting a mortal man "Vader" who happens to be using glorified psychic powers versus an angel "Gandalf" with near limitless powers.
+Soisen TheGuardian - That's the real question in my mind. I know that Gandalf would win in his natural state before he took on the form of an elderly man and hid his true power. But, having done so, would he be able to win without relying on being resurrected?
John Rieping What they keep missing and totally screwed up in the movies (besides his glaring lack of eyebrows, read the description before making a movie assholes, you made the freaking buttons special but forgot eyebrows?..geez...sorry, where was I?) is...he just LOOKS like an old man...he used that to his advantage in the story when dealing with men and such. He is NOT an old man. He is not weak or frail by any means. He's got fire, lightning, illusions, telekinesis, his staff, Glamdring, one of the lesser rings of power even. Easiest win...blinding flash, chopped in half. Unless Darth's helmet works like welding goggles. He did not actually die fighting the Balrog, he was very weak, yes, but not dead...Galadriel Healed him....everybody in the story thought he was dead. He became the White at that time because Saruman had gone to the "dark side". Monty Python would say he was just "mostly" dead.
+GTA V World Champ Dude, Tolkien wrote Gandalf as a Jesus allegory, he was an open Christian and Gandalf the Grey coming back as Gandalf the White was a direct allegory to the resurrection of Jesus. His friend CS Lewis, another open Christian, did the same Jesus allegory with Asian in Chronicles of Narnia. If you think it's blasphemy, don't blame me, blame the authors.
On the contrary. There is no way wizard Gandalf to beat Lord Vader. Vader's light saber cant be blocked by magic. The saber cut everything except another light saber. Vader have force choke, force push, pull, force block. At Force unleashed Vader pull entire spaceship with only his mind. With magic you have to rely on spells where at force not. With the force you rely on your reflex. Vader can choke the wizard before he had the chance to open his mouth to spoke the spell. The wooden staff and the steel sword cant parry the light saber. The lighsaber will cut through as if they are butter. Gandalf rely on spells and tricks but at hand to hand combat he will be defeated by average bar fighter.
Dimitar Dimitrov Gandalf is a Wizard and a non human who is far beyond the powers of any human...you are talking as if the Force could defeat the powers of a wizard...are you slow? magic would protect himn from any force power or the lightsaber their is so much stuff a wixard could do to kill a force user quite easily
whitestar111 Yes thats right. Force is far superior than some magic and wizard. Its called Force for a reason ;) Gandalf may block dragon's fire but lightsaber is hotter than surface of the sun. It cuts molecules in half. Plus all that Vader has weapons at his disposal. Can Gandalf destroy entire planet? No right? Vader with Death Star can. Not only Gandalf but entire planet with Gandalf. Good luck to Gandalf's magic to block the beam weapons,grenades,bombs,nukes,photon/proton torpedoes, rockets, machine guns, cannons, mortar launchers, antimater bombs...
whitestar111 You really didn't say anything other than he's Istari. So that make you know more than him? Well anyways don't argue about who would actually win due to this being a just for fun video. (Because this goes off a voting system) If you really want to see who would win try posting on Deathbattle or repost if you did.
whitestar111 Actually if you're going to mash both universes, you should know the force IS the conduit for magic, Vader is not impaired at all with Sith sorcery for example, even less with Gandalf's spells due to his "good stance" that can be called "light side inclination". You talk about facts, yet you still have the need to insult someone and to talk "religiously" about a universe that has nothing to do with the other, AND you have the urge to "prove" the superiority of it? You're just being irrational and may be delusional hahahaha (you can't talk about facts where there can't be facts).
Vader using Force Lightning is ridiculous, over 70% of his body is mechanical, an electrical current would fuck up his suit, just like it did when the Emepror zapped him in Return of the Jedi, his breathing became all fucked up.
OCDgamer Yeah, it can choke a normal man to death... I mean hey, so can a peanut, but hey that's from an ALLERGY-- or if it gets stuck on the way or something. So if Gandalf hasn't been tested for asthma, he'd better watch out, or Vader use the Force to peel the "contains nuts" warning-label off the crumpets at tea-time-- AND spill his teacup to keep him from washing it down! And the power to destroy a planet is NOTHING compared to that, right?
Ryan Christopher Seriously, these Vader-fans talk about the great "power" of the Force, obviously leeching from the EU-- but what hae we EVER seen it actually do, other than allow someone to see one second into the future, or lift a small ship, or fool idiots? Gandalf can see YEARS into the future, sink ISLANDS, and communicate telepathically. Gandalf can beat Vader anytime he wants.
Ryan Christopher I just hear the song Mean Green Mother whenever they flap their yaps about Big Bad Vader taking down some little old man.... "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MESSIN' WITH!" It ain't Obi-wan Kenobi, I'll tell you that. "I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor... the Dark Side will not avail you, Lame of Anakin. YOU CANNOT PASS!"
Of course, you’ve all forgotten that Gandalf is a literal demigod, his apparent age is just a skin he’s wearing, and he spends the entire trilogy holding back on his power…while Vader is an entirely mortal, much less powerful, cyborg (designed by Palpatine to specifically be less effective than it should be).
+Aljaž Mihelčič Or sheer amount of "Vader can't use force lightning", "gandalf can't block lightsabers", "magic is not force", "Vader is conduit of Force and force is omnipotent so he must be omnipotent". Or whole "which one is stronger". I mean, can't we just enjoy the nice visuals and over-glorified version of showing fan option polls? They could just cut to point where after asking random people "who would win?" just show the numbers and say "Yeah, Vader would win by vote because 7% of more fans." Put up a crappy 10-frame animation of Vader force-chocking Gandalf, video done. Instead because they don't go to 60-minute length combat movie taking in according EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF LORE (for Gandalf, it exists in form of three books, bunch of movies and at least three roleplaying supplements, and for Vader... Sheesh, not going to even count those book/comic numbers!), people turn really salty about everything in it.
+Eltharrion Yeah but for real VADER DOESNT DO FORCE LIGHTNING. My god anybody who watched star wars should know that. Things like this should be done by nerds for nerds. People that dont even know this basic shit shouldnt do videos about them. Dont get me wrong theres alot of other super power beatdowns I enjoy, but just the fact that they rely on fanvotes to see who wins is just bullshit. As nice as the visual effects are alot of other stuff is bullshit...
w00ds98 Then what about people who are not considered "nerds", are they disallowed to like or create material like this? For example myself, I am not 100% familiar with SW's Extended Universe. More like knowing only 3-10% of it, thus really making me "not SW nerd/geek". Should I be disallowed to comment here? They are clearly stating at start of video and throughout that they base this on votes, and simply re-create what they think is cool and enjoying to watch based on those fan votes. Votes that, seeing their usual vote base, doesn't know jackshit about stuff they vote for. In more than few episodes, I've seen voters state facts that are completely wrong. These are not studied facts or outcomes like for example Death Battles claim to be. I am not saying one cannot be disappointed at it, but I am simply directing my previous comment to people that start a flame war over this when they admit they are not using any scientific measurements. Those people who are calling this video favored are true, since this is a video made BY fans, FOR fans. Not nerds, not critics, not masters of lore. Just fans who like something VERY much. And even if like it, have not studied it to bone and soul. If one is not allowed to like something without learning everything of it, then I suppose I need to start hating the entire world soon. And that is all you can quote me on this one.
Gandalf is actually 3000 years old(Silmarillion), Gandalf has greater power as White than any other being in Middle Earth with the only exception of Sauron, his magical talents exceed almost any other being in Middle Earth and he comes back to life as White after being Grey..Vader would lose.
the thing is, Gandalf kind of lacked the will to kill. also the whole being partly immortal thing comes into play, yes vader would not be able to kill him permanently but a lightsaber to the gut would put a bitch out of commission for a few days
Bryan portrays a great Anakin Skywalker! He did that Obi-Ani spin and it was on point! It’s great to see one of my favorite TH-camrs do an amazing Anakin! :)
I respect that the outcome is based on votes. Votes have as much impact on a real fight as it does here.. zero. But entertaining none the less. Vader is a mortal with his powers being genetic. Gandalf is an immortal ethereal being with a supreme deity's protection & access to its power. It's not that Gandalf is more of a badass than Vader, Gandalfs entire existence is incomprehensible & his physical body is negligible. Vader maybe could eke out a few battles but would lose the war, IMO of course.
lastwolflord Most likely, though he did battle the balrog for days as the Grey. I don't think lactic acid causes Gandalfs muscles to burn or that he needs sleep. Vader would have to win fast or lose from exhaustion. I can't imagine all the blood curdling spells Gandalf would have up his sleeve. There's nothing trickier than an avatar magician with access to incomprehensible knowledge
@@bighands69 Oh please. Palpatine could fry Gandalf with lightning from one hand and beat his meat with the other hand while holding a porno magazine with the force at the same time.

His "wizard" shell is much much weaker and killable.
Sequel?
Ouch. Vader and Force lightning don't get along. Vader almost killed himself when he did it.
A staff can't become a lightsaber type thing.
***** doesn't sound like you read the tolkin books
Actually Vader is able to use force lightning he just doesn't because it is going to fry his cybernetics and is basically suicide for him
Zman MC exactly. He isn't able to use force lighting. Him being able to use it in theory isn't exactly relevant if actually using it would kill him.
No you're wrong. Vader literally CAN NOT use force lightning.
TheNuisanceBird The force is different. Force lightning needs real hands to channel through. Not artificial.
No that I think about it: How does/did he use the force out of his hands? I guess the force is that "amazing"
TheNuisanceBird The force doesn't have to channel through hands.

There's a mistake here. Vader can't use Force Lightning because his suit is highly sensitive to electrical discharges. @Ep B1az3 actually, according to the Legends timeline, midichlorians didn't actually cause the Force, they just accumulated in the blood of people who were Force-sensitive. Props to the people who made this for respect the votes, but this would never happen. Gandalf (even when he was "just" Gandalf the Grey) is a divine being in the LOTRverse, there is no way Darth Vader would be able to take him.
I believe I saw a scene where the Witch King was easily able to defeat Gandalf the White, and the Witch King is not a divine being.

Vader killed gandalf the grey but gandalf the white is far more powerful
I agree
Gandalf use Europop Nod...
Darth Vader is confused!
It hurt itself in its confusion
It's super effective!
Gandalf win!
where in the movies did he ever exhibit power close to vader's?
serious question
Charles Thomas If he can be Anakin, he can be Superman too
Saw cuz man What about Gandalf the Black bro
Soo here’s some knowledge for you
Gandalf: is over 7,000 years old in TLOR
Is basically a god in human form not a mere wizard
Has fought and beaten other Demi/semi gods in the series
Lord Vader: exceedingly skilled in the force and swordplay
One of the toughest warriors in his galaxy
Pretty sure wouldn’t be able to use the lightning bc of his cybernetics (he’d prob EMP himself)
Vader is badass! No question there.
Gandalf is a deity.
This isn’t a fight, it’s a dream.
Yup, being a deity / avatar, he can't even die.
I forgot what other force power Vader has is called but it's like force lightning but it is more on the side of kinetic energy. Plo Koon also uses this power
You can destroy Gandalf's "vessel" but his spirit is forever
Its best to not kill Gandalf the Grey, it generally unleashes a demi god.
The Anakin actor is way hotter than Hayden.
+Pocket Heart
yeah
***** No he didn't. He's been a great actor everywhere else, and his VISUAL acting even in Ep 2 and 3 is really great. His line delivery is garbage, and so is Natalie Portman's, another good actor in every other movie. No, he didn't ruin Star Wars, George Lucas' retarded "directing" did.
***** Maybe not, but my point is I don't think he would have ruined the film if he had a director that wasn't batshit.
+Pocket Heart "they ruined starwars" still watches it.
Who was the actor for Anakin in this one? He did amazing!
6:21 This guy should have been Anakin. Dude I swear Hayden does not feel canon at all anymore. I've been binge watching the Clone Wars so much lately and that portrayal is perfect......Plus, he looks like Luke which is a +1
Damian Wayne™ 6:40 LOOK AT THAT, he actually looks like Luke's father haha
Ehhh....I still prefer Hayden. He looks a lot like a live action version of clone wars anakin though. But Hayden will always be Anakin to me, it's just burned into my brain even though he wasn't that good. If they remade the prequels and used this guy my brain would refuse it as canon and wonder wtf I'm watching, lol.
Damian Wayne™ I agree, this guy looks like he could be Luke's father.
Damian Wayne™ Yeah, he does have a strong resemblance to Mark Hamill. He would have been my choice for Anakin Skywalker.
The Batman Happy you agree, father.
For all those people who say Vader can't use Force Lightning, yes he can. In both Disney Canon and Legends he uses an external lightning in the form of a Sphere. A sort of Sith ball lightning. He's used in in many fights in both cannons. He may not be able to use it in the way portrayed here, he does possess this ability.
what the fuck are you saying, bro people in 2020 were pretty stupid
Kinetite?
Ans Gandalf is literally part of the maiar literally sngelical beings easily stomp Vader.
Damien: you need a stick to focus your magic
Dr Strange: hold my beer
ARey 1010 Basically.
“Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen”
Both were perfect as Anakin you can’t change my mind
ok good for you
Question to the book nerds.
What does the ring 'exactly' do? Aside from the already cool invisibilty and turning 'people' into Gollum?
+Valdemire Kreshnov As far as I understand, it gives you power depending on how powerful you already are. That is why Gandalf did not wanted to even touch the ring he said that the power would be too terrible for him to wield. Also it controls the other rings and gives mind control abilities.
Thank you. The movies weren't clear aside from the line, "One ring to rule them all."
I know it sounds simple.. but, it's really vague.
Cheers :)
oops, that's a long one :P
Good comment.
Gandalf the White would have kicked Darth Vader's behind.
Darth Vader most likely used the force forcing Frodos hand open.
Wouldn't Darth Vader have to take on Sauron if he takes the ring?
Not until the ring reaches Sauron which could take hundreds or thousands of years and the ring could change bearers within that time.
Fighting Sauron with the Ring is the last thing you want to do, just ask Celebrimbor.
If Darth Vader returned to the galaxy far far away, he wouldn't have to.
The other option of taking on Sauron is not in Vaders favor. As Sauron is the rings one true master, they are a part of each other and it would betray Vader somehow into his own demise.
Well he couldnt beat gandalf factually, as this was voted on by random ass people
Brett Holtz You do realize that's not how the ring works... The ring has 1 true master and seeing how easily Anakin was corrupted from the light to dark, Sauron would easily take full control of him even more than Palpatine. Sauron is the great deceiver, the ring only has 1 master, Sauron. Sauron wouldn't destroy Vader, he would use him.
....So when do we see the Rematch with Darth Vader VS Gandalf the White!?
I'd complain about the force lightning but hell, it was a good fight and they portrayed both well. Gandalf put up a good fight, and while I'm miffed he lost, he had a good death! So I'm happy. Plus, the Vader vs Anakin bit was REAL good stuff!
Good death? I don't think getting your guts cut by a lightsaber is a good death xD
Backon Lazer Not if you're turned on by suck thing. c; It'd be a great death then.
Backon Lazer lol, i meant they didn't make him look stupid, they had him go down fighting as opposed to begging like a weak old man or something
Since this is based on votes, Vader beat the Demi-God by popularity alone, lol.
I don’t think Gandalf stands a chance, Darth Vader was not only trained in the Jedi ways, but the ways of the Sith too.
Totally
Gandalf the white should have came back and sliced off his other hand. LOL They forgot that ability!
+John Smith He can only do that when he's mostly dead...here I think he's in two pieces....not sure how well the Galadriel can work with that.
Ahh. Good point. But thinking about it. Half a human can live a few minutes. Till he bleeds out. But wouldn't a lightsaber seal the cut?
Alternate ending!!!! COME ON DEMOCRACY ON THIS ONE!
+Bruno Shredsson (And also sexy) It kind of is. There`s a possibility that Gandalf the White returns!
+Eivind Bjørnenak I was waiting for him to come back as Gandalf the white and kill Vader. Gandalf is pretty much LOTR Jesus after all.
Blasphemer Gandalf should never be compared to him.
If you think it's blasphemy, don't blame me, blame the authors.
their is no way Darth Vader could beat a Wizard of Gandalf's Level
Dimitar Dimitrov
Gandalf is a Wizard and a non human who is far beyond the powers of any human...you are talking as if the Force could defeat the powers of a wizard...are you slow? magic would protect himn from any force power or the lightsaber their is so much stuff a wixard could do to kill a force user quite easily
whitestar111 Yes thats right.
Gandalf calling Vader "Anakin" is the last mistake he'll ever make, knowing that Vader hates the name Anakin now.
"That name has no longer any meaning for me!"
Vader using Force Lightning is ridiculous, over 70% of his body is mechanical, an electrical current would fuck up his suit, just like it did when the Emepror zapped him in Return of the Jedi, his breathing became all fucked up.
Not necessarily, long as he could concentrate it to solely his hands and made sure it was never deflected lol
still his force powers are still not as good as they can be due the the cyber parts
Javaughn Brantley Metal conducts electricity so he doesn't really get a choice
Javaughn Brantley His hands are made out of metal...
His left one isn't.
everyone else: Vader cannot use force lightning
me: Vader's armor can take more than 1 hit from lightsabers
Ikr. He can use lighting but it is weaker than the light side version of lighting
I come here for the fights, but stay for the fanboy tears… num, num, num, num, num.
Delicious.
Jonathan Covington i only got upset with the Captain America Vs Master Chief ;-;
They do it depending on the VOTES so its not really good
The guy that played Anakin did pretty good!
@- so he’s not better then Hayden?
You do not know the power of the dark side.
Tom Evans lol
Ryan Christopher Seriously, these Vader-fans talk about the great "power" of the Force, obviously leeching from the EU-- but what hae we EVER seen it actually do, other than allow someone to see one second into the future, or lift a small ship, or fool idiots?
Gandalf can see YEARS into the future, sink ISLANDS, and communicate telepathically.
Gandalf can beat Vader anytime he wants.
Tom Evans EXACTLY
Ryan Christopher I just hear the song Mean Green Mother whenever they flap their yaps about Big Bad Vader taking down some little old man.... "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MESSIN' WITH!"
It ain't Obi-wan Kenobi, I'll tell you that.
"I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor... the Dark Side will not avail you, Lame of Anakin. YOU CANNOT PASS!"
These battles are always awesome. Everyone did a great job, especially Bryan Morton as Anakin. How does he look so much like an actual Skywalker?
The battle needed more magic and more force powers to be epic.
I don't know if this has been stated already or not but Vader can't use force lightning on account of the fact that his arms are metal.
I love to scroll down the comments and see a bunch of nerds fighting about a TH-cam video
+Eltharrion True 😂
+Aljaž Mihelčič One of the lesser appreciated joys of life.
NoESanity Lacked the will to kill?
Tell that to the scores of orcs, goblins and uruk hai that he casually gave a towing to during the battles.
Autumn Gaslight yes because killing a good guy gone bad is totally as easy as killing the imaginary friends of the fucking devil made flesh
That's why he got beat hehe
You just didn't specify who he didn't intend to kill :P
If it means anything, I was with Vader all the way :)
Gandalf is actually in the range of 54,000 years old.
I wanted to watch Vaider Vs Gandalf... Not Vader Vs Anikan...
(Sorry if i messed up the Names XD)
Vaider Vs Gandalf Vader vs Anikin
Vader vs Gandalf Vader vs Anakin
I don't know how to spell Vaider...
IS it Vaider or Vader???
(I am a horrble fan XD)

Hahaha That's ridiculous, Gandalf is a divine being, half the people here don't know the full extent of his powers. No chance for poor Darth Vader
considering gandalf never unveiled his true power and was closer to a god than man. gandalf would win assuming the valar allowed
Brett Holtz your clueless about the true power of gandalf.
Marcos Phillips not really. Gandalf even if he cimes back is still powerless next to vader
I can bs on your god-like gandolf. Lol he was weak in lotr
@@jaysamson1185 Have you read the Silmarillion?
But only when he become white. As a grey wizard he was still weaker.
lastwolflord Most likely, though he did battle the balrog for days as the Grey.
***** Yeah but he got beat twice & killed by lightening, a mere level 4 mage spell lmao
hobbit would likely put the ring on, I was waiting for the middle finger in through the ring when it was in the air.
that would be hilarious .d
Catastrophically underrated comment, that would be amazing
That would have been fun

I was waiting for Gandalf the White to come pounding back in all like - “Death just makes me brighter!”
If vader losed the battle would palpatine come to help him?
Losed lol
Yeah it should be they kill each other and then Palpateen and Gandalf the white should fight.
Gandalf could beat Palpatine and Vader at the same time.
@@bighands69 Oh please. Palpatine could fry Gandalf with lightning from one hand and beat his meat with the other hand while holding a porno magazine with the force at the same time.
+Iceman5533
Gandalf does not use a fraction of his power. Lighting would not have any effect on Gandalf and neither would Fire.
Gandalf beat a Balrog without actually using his power. That should give you an idea of how formidable he actually is. Gandalf is a Maia which means he is a being that cannot actually be destroyed. Gandalf is not mortal.
Why we are even having this conversation is beyond me.
They clearly do not know Gandalf's true form
They didn't put Gandalf the White instead they put form of a jedi which means they are lack knowledge of Tolkien's world.
