I stuffed my hornets nest with plastic grocery bags so it doesn't hold water.
oooooh thats a great idea!!!
Made one of these and hung on corner of our farmhouse porch in the spring where a previous hornet's nest was---fast forward to August-NO HORNETS NEST. This really works.
I recently made a similar thing using brown packing paper, hung it under the front porch, and it works!
That's a great idea! Yah they work great!
Thanks for taking the time to do this video, I really appreciate it! I made one this evening using twine, looks really cool but a little hard on the hands. Thanks again 🌸
Your welcome, I swear by these things, but i was tired of buying the paper ones every year..lol..twine? Yah that would be hard on the hands. Thanks for the positive feedback
Me too!!
I have been using Kroger bags every year, but I love this!! I used Kroger bags as stuffing and I will spray it with scotch guard to keep it nice from the elements!! Thanks so much for this!!
I had to make a new one this year, and i made it from Viscose this time, got it from Temu, stuffed it with cellophane lol
Love your pattern, I used plastic grocery bags to stuff it. Thank You, this was fun to make.
Thank you, That's a fabulous Idea, thanks for sharing
I made 2 of these this evening. Great tutorial!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you I made mine with jute twine and garbage bags!! , a co-worker asked for this when she found out I crocheted. 😊
Great idea!
Great tutorial, love the work ahead pause screen, I thought the video was great!
Oh fabulous, I love the feedback on the pause screen, thank you , ive been wondering how people felt about it.
I wanted to mention, you say to do 18 rows, but the screen said 16. I went with 16. Wanted to tell you so you can edit your video if you want. Thanks again for the tutorial, I’ve made 4!! 😁👍
Oh thank you!

thank you. they work great, i made one for my neighbor also, no more hornets!
@@BeyondtheLens53 Made one for my son still waiting to hear..... :)
Great video very easy to follow tks 🤗🐝
Your welcome and thank you for the positive feedback
I love this. Mine came out really small. What are the approximate dimensions?
I have no idea..lol it's been a while since I did the video. I used 2 pieces of yarn and a 6mm J hook
So my husband ran out and took it down..and the measurements are 12" long..and 7" wide..and it's 21" diameter. Hope this helps 😀
@@BeyondtheLens53 tell him thank you so much! It does
That helps a lot because if you're not using 2 strands of yarn it comes out smaller, so I ended up adding increase rows till I got to the width you said. Thankyou so much for putting down the deminisions ❤
using am 2 4 weight threads seems dos some bigger should i some less rows make after thr 6 then 2 ?
What size hook are you using?
@@BeyondtheLens53 k what shoulds use ?
Then yes, if you want it smaller, then I wouldn’t do the 16 rows, i would do maybe 12-14 rows before you start to decrease
Question: does it work for bees as well or just hornets?
no, it doesnt. Bees can be quit productive in your yard, without bees, nothing would grow, lol we certainly dont want to get rid of them. Hornets however are just pests.
Does it keep wasps away too?
Unfortunately no
Does it matter the colors?
As long as it is in the brown section of colors, as it is meant to replicate a hornets nest. Nest are anywhere between light brown and dark brown range
Do you have the pattern with out watching the video
Yes , you can find that in the description box.
Does this work for wasps?
No I don't think so
I made one with a paper bag stuffed with plastic shopping bags. It worked to keep wasps away for a couple of seasons. I am going to make these for this year.
