    I stuffed my hornets nest with plastic grocery bags so it doesn't hold water.

    Made one of these and hung on corner of our farmhouse porch in the spring where a previous hornet's nest was---fast forward to August-NO HORNETS NEST. This really works.

    I recently made a similar thing using brown packing paper, hung it under the front porch, and it works!

    Thanks for taking the time to do this video, I really appreciate it! I made one this evening using twine, looks really cool but a little hard on the hands. Thanks again 🌸

    I wanted to mention, you say to do 18 rows, but the screen said 16. I went with 16. Wanted to tell you so you can edit your video if you want. Thanks again for the tutorial, I’ve made 4!! 😁👍

    I love this. Mine came out really small. What are the approximate dimensions?

    • @BeyondtheLens53
      @BeyondtheLens53  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no idea..lol it's been a while since I did the video. I used 2 pieces of yarn and a 6mm J hook

    • @BeyondtheLens53
      @BeyondtheLens53  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So my husband ran out and took it down..and the measurements are 12" long..and 7" wide..and it's 21" diameter. Hope this helps 😀

      That helps a lot because if you're not using 2 strands of yarn it comes out smaller, so I ended up adding increase rows till I got to the width you said. Thankyou so much for putting down the deminisions ❤

  • @leannewinslow2172

    using am 2 4 weight threads seems dos some bigger should i some less rows make after thr 6 then 2 ?

    • @BeyondtheLens53
      @BeyondtheLens53  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Then yes, if you want it smaller, then I wouldn’t do the 16 rows, i would do maybe 12-14 rows before you start to decrease

  • @katlinlaing5612

    Question: does it work for bees as well or just hornets?

    • @BeyondtheLens53
      @BeyondtheLens53  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      no, it doesnt. Bees can be quit productive in your yard, without bees, nothing would grow, lol we certainly dont want to get rid of them. Hornets however are just pests.

  • @carolynhummel4791

    Does it keep wasps away too?

    Does it matter the colors?

    • @BeyondtheLens53
      @BeyondtheLens53  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as it is in the brown section of colors, as it is meant to replicate a hornets nest. Nest are anywhere between light brown and dark brown range

      I made one with a paper bag stuffed with plastic shopping bags. It worked to keep wasps away for a couple of seasons. I am going to make these for this year.
