I found some just twine at dollar tree by the tools 3 spools for a buck I live in Northwoods Wisconsin USA 🇺🇸 and have problems with these little guys not wanting to kill anything I am going to hang it on our property as I have read if the see a nest they will build else where wish me luck Thank you
@@CravingCrochet I've never actually seen a wasps nest... hmmm.... also I was looking into this concept a bit and people also do a paper bag decoy. I'm just wondering if maybe you've heard of this? As well as if they work the same...
@@TheJemstar28 yes I think you can buy these paper ones at hardware stores. I've heard of them and sure they will work too. Just not sure as to how long they will last. I have one which I made last year and it's gone thru a winter and it still in good shape!

FYI: Only put one nest in an area. Even another hornet won’t put up a nest near another one because they are territorial

What do you put inside of the nest
I put some plastic bags inside if memory serves me correctly. I haven't made one in a few years. But they definitely work!
Hi, cute. Not trying to be rude, but what the purpose of making one...if they scare wasps away YAY 😀
They "scare" hornets and wasps away. These insects are very territorial so if they see a nest already in the area, they don't build a nest there. 😁
When you made yours with the thin jute, what size hook did you use?
Hi Kaye! Yes I used regular jute so not too thick and a 5.5 mm hook! It works!
