hello sir, maybe you can help answer this. i use roku, A/C powered, not the stick, and watch netflix and amazon prime. i have no problem w netflix, but when on amazon, the pitcher and sound will be out of sync, a hesitation in the pitcher and sound, not very long, 10-20 sec, and sometimes it freezes up and a frequency buffering problem will show up. it goes away after a while or i push the back button and it starts back up just fine. this happens every so often, sometimes not at all. what do you think is the problem, tks in advance
What is the sound mode on the Roku 4kHDR TV? It won't let me access it and the sound in my headphones is really low when plugged into my phone turned all the way up.
I'm not a big fan of going to the movie theater so when there's something playing and the theater I love to go into my Roku feed and do a search for that particular movie and when it comes available it'll show up . One of the things I miss about my fire TV is the inability to get audible books through my television but otherwise I really prefer Roku and all other areas.
find out what digital service your local library uses to loan out audiobooks, music, movies etc. If its something like "Hoopla" you can get that channel/App on Roku. Just sign up using your Library ID. Many libraries allow you to "borrow" about 10 items a month tho 1 episode of a tv show = 1 item.

Oddly about a month ago I caught what I think was an error on Rokus part. Billions was completely free for all seasons as well as the showtime series Ray Donovan as well as other showtime things. Someone messed up I think because every season of everything showtime seemed to be free. I watched Billions first 2 seasons but sadly about 3 or 4 days after I discovered this Roku Channel goof up they were locked again.
If you happen to have netflix search showtime. Many old showtime series are there in full as well as current hits like Shameless. If you have amazon prime search for HBO. Amazon won't let you watch Game of Thrones or Westworld which are current huge hits for them but you can watch every episode of sex in the City, The sopranos, eastbound & down, Deadwood, boardwalk Empire, the list goes on and on and on. There are so many old HBO series that they have made available because of the good deal they have with Amazon. Apparently Amazon alone accounts for 51% or more of all streaming subscriptions that they have so I guess they have offered up most everything they have in their back catalogue like true blood, the wire, In Treatment, veep, the newsroom, seriously this list just is almost infinite.... Tons of HBO comedy specials and original movies as well. Not sure if you happen to have either Netflix or Amazon but since a lot of people do this is something I don't think a lot of people are aware of that is definitely a bonus for having those subscriptions. You'd be surprised what you can find with a little bit of digging.if you are going completely free though then do a few Google searches for the best TV and movie apps for free on Roku. There is a very large number of free quality movie apps that you can use for b&C list movies. Even some good A list titles are available now and then.

I thought I read that watching in 4K uses about 4 times as much data. Also, is the data usage the same or different if you watch the same movie on your iPhone, your laptop, or on the Roku tv?

Thank you for your wealth of information about ROKU - I cut the cord a year and a half ago - although I really haven’t paid for cable in years - the first experience I had with cable was in 1969 at Penn State. The mountainous area prevented decent reception of most stations on VHF or UHF. And for just $6.32 a month, you got 13 channels including a very crude weather station (it consisted of a TV camera placed on an oscillating machine and it showed you a thermometer, a barometer and an anemometer - back and forth 24/7) BUT it was only $6.32 at the time. Imagine a cable bill like that? The concept of paying for TV AND still having to watch commercials (cable’s AMC for example) is so ludicrous it’s almost ridiculous. Oh yes, one small correction: the word you use in the beginning of this video is spelled “etcetera” pronounced et-cet-er-a and not ec-cet-er-a. Sorry, the old English teacher in me oozes out every once in a while.
How can you screen mirror two roku TV's to show the same thing , or 3 TV's . All my TV's are Roku TV's and are on the same network . Am my camera system is on the same Network . I have a question for ya. I bought a wifi pc and I want to stream content from my pc to my Roku tv. The pc does NOT recognize the tv at all. BTW it is a desktop pc. I went into wifi settings on the pc and I had my roku tv on in the screen mirroring mode. What else am I missing?
You should certainly do more of these. I probably had Roku for 6 months before I found many of these -- and often by accident. And other stuff like re-arranging channels that I also found by accident. With new devices, as my comfort grows, I play around with buttons. 😀
Why can't I find my favorite racing channels for Formula One, NASCAR, Indy, garage car shows? Where's all the channels? Roku only looks like it's for movies.
I had to get SlingTv to watch Formula 1 and Motogp. Formula 1 is on ESPN in the USA and Motogp is on BEIN Sports. There are other services that carry those services so do a little research
Anybody got any "pro tips" for when your TCL Roku tv powers on but has a black screen I had mine for a little over a year now and it did this a couple of days ago I did the force reboot and I hit the factory reset button and it still has a black screen if anybody know how to fix this let me know if not I'm done with the TCL TV's

I enjoy using the Roku app on my smartphone. It is really easy to use and I enjoy the private listening mode. Have you done a video about that?

Love my Roku! I've abandoned over-the-air broadcast TV completely. Never subscribed to cable TV. Love TH-cam, AcornTV and the Roku Channel. ♥

Set up Plex on your PC and download the Plex app on your TV
