Story Summary :-
OP was always someone who felt like his family didn’t love him and didn’t want him. That’s because his parents wanted a girl. He's stuck protecting his troublemaking sister, taking the blame for her antics. When his sister stole valuable possessions from their cousin, he was coerced into taking the blame.
His sister, fueled by a desire for material things, committed an act of theft, stealing the luxurious belongings of their cousin, one whom OP was already very close to and thought of as a sister, just to fund her extravagant desires, like buying the new iPhone that just came out.
When his family found out, they made OP take the blame so that his sister’s reputation would not be ruined. Even though he didn’t want to do it, he did it just to gain his family’s love. However, things kept getting worse until his cousin, the one who was close to him found out the truth and forced him to expose his sister and his family to show everyone how bad they treated OP even though he was their son.

An unsaid part, OP’s behavior of just being a good person beforehand made Amelia question the family’s story and believe him when she asked for the truth.

Stealing is not a "mistake" ir's a conscious choice. Why would OP want to ve part of a family that yses him as a scapegoat to orotect their golden child? OP can't see that even if he does take the blame his family would still not respect him or treat him any better. They would still treat him like rubbish. This story was disturbing and totally disgusting. Kate committed felonies and should be in prison for a long time. This isn't just petty theft. Not only that, the parents should have charges to for being coconspirators and forcing their son to take the blame.
Has society fallen so far that felonies like this are mostly excused and covered up with only a suit to repay for the stolen items? This is a problem of morals and integrity for the whole family. If a teenage boy steals, under normal circumstances, they are not stealing purses and jewelry, it more like cars or video games, computers, switches etc. I'm glad his cousin saw right through the ruse. His parents are horrible people and his sister has the notion that she can do whatever she wants with no consequences. If you truly love a child you don't set them up for failure for later in life, they have to know what they are doing but then maybe not. Teach your children that there will always be consequences in life, good and bad ones, if you don't you are setting them up for a jail/prison term. Have you ever wanted your parents love so bad you'd set yourself on fire if that's what it took? I've been there. All he wanted was to be loved by his parents, so he agreed to be the scapegoat so they would love him. Too bad they never did, and what miniscule shred of approval he did get only lasted a week. I have always been in that position in my immediate family. They are all narcissists, and I am an empath, I have had a target on my forehead for my entire life, until 2016 when I went no contact. I was always the family scapegoat and took the blame for everything. I do have a few cousins that I need to contact that I am sure understand my situation. I will get my revenge in the end, I am patient, and the best revenge is living well.

From what I got, Week 1, Day 1 she saw the phone and asked for it, but parents denied and took her to a restaurant.
Then 1 week later she suddenly stopped whining about the phone. (Week 2, Day X)
Then 1 week after that she came home with the phone she bought from the store. (Week 3, Day X)
The baby shower where she stole the purses and stuff happened two weeks prior to this final event, so at some point in week 1.
This could essentially mean that maybe the baby shower happened on Week 1, Day 2.

I had this problem. My parents had been promised a son by the guru. Their son was so special that he was going to be the father of Super Mega Jesus 2.0 after he was forcibly married to the guru's daughter. It was a whole thing and a large part of their identity was tied up in being the most special people on Earth because God chose them for this great mission. Then the doctor said "Congratulations! It's a girl!" My life went downhill from there. Instead of deciding that The Prophecy was wrong they decided that I was a demon who had consumed the spiritual essence of their son (who in case you forgot never f*cking existed) to gain mortal form. That meant that any kind of abuse was totally justified since it's just a demon anyway, who cares about torturing demons.

I have a family just like this. I was born first by a man who didn’t stay with my mom. He only wanted todo the dirty.
My mom had to tell my memere because duh, she would show, and getting the morning after pill wasn’t a thing. She begged my memere to have an abortion. This was mostly because she was going to raise me with out the help of a man.
My memere, who couldn’t have kids, had adopted my mother as a baby and thought being able to have children was a blessing. She told my mother no.
My mother was upset about this and neglected me ever since.
She went out of her way to tell me that memere wanted my mom to abort the baby but I told her no.
I knew my mom was lying because much later my memere told me the same story but it was reversed. Of course I believed my memere since all she ever showed me was love and forgiveness at my every turn.
My mother never showed me anything but hate and abuse.
She later had another girl, I was 4. At this age I was angrily encouraged to participate with helping to fetch things for everyone in the house. She was very happy about this second baby because this man stayed with her. I call him dad because he’s the only father I’ve known. I love him and forgive him for how my mother coerced him into being mean to me. He became an alcoholic but no matter what, he truly loved my mother. She claimed he didn’t. I hated him growing up. Copying my mothers behavior towards me. A third sibling came along. Also favored more than me but not as much as our middle sister.
By this time I was starting to be treated like Cinderella. Doing as many chores as my short little body could do. Mostly picking up after both my parents and my siblings.
I got Cinderella dolls for Christmas after my moon found tons of cash in a parking lot shopping cart.she took it home and we had a good Christmas.
You don’t give a little girl Barbie dolls and expect them not to want to play with them but my parents wanted Cinderella and Prince Charming to stay in their boxes on a tall shelf.
I played with them one day. Put them back, they found out, threatened me a lifetime of Cinderella chores and gave my dolls to my middle sister.
From that day forward I did ALL THE CHORES. Laundry, dishes, vacuum, cleaning of all bedrooms, mopping, beatings, locked in my room for weeks on end.
Wake up, get ready for school, help siblings get ready, leave, come home, schoolwork or not chores were to be done, they took me all day. I have a very messy family, then straight to the bedroom.
Sometimes I’d get double grounded, so that meant I couldn’t leave the bed. I shared a bedroom with my sisters all of my life except for one year. I finally got my own room. It was the cleanest in the house lol.
The put me on meds for my adhd, I was socially underdeveloped,
I now barely leave my room as an adult, can’t get a job because of social anxiety, don’t know how to get help for myself because I was never taught about the outside world. I’m afraid to interact with people because my parents always said I was stupid.
I have a husband now and two teeny dogs. We have the same lifestyle.
We were saving up to maybe get our own place. Hubby makes me feel safe so I was able to get a job right with him. Got fired because I didn’t want to report being sexually harassed by a woman. Biden happened and we’ve had our savings depleted, eating out of the dumpsters, no longer able to save. Gofundme has 50$ in it but people are just as poor as me, I think so I’m not upset about that.
But I also don’t really have any friends to share it with.
My mother says it’s all my own doing.
When I try really hard, my anxiety gives me the runs. Even if I’m running on empty. Can’t have an interview with that.
I wanted to be a game warden, I love animals and they can’t hurt your feelings.

I'm not. What did they expect? When you give everything someone wants in their life, they get convinced that the world revolves around them. The parents got what they deserved. I feel like Kate is KINDA a victim here. I have to ask. How is it that anytime you have someone as a bad mom, or dad your animator portrays them as overweight? Being overweight I have to wonder why you want to portray people who are overweight as evil and get people to hate anyone who is overweight? I just noticed myself thinking of course the mom, dad and daughter are all overweight and thus evil but OP who is good and hurt is skinny. So I'm thinking of course they are evil as they are overweight - and then realized what you are doing. Me being overweight being taught to hate myself and others who are overweight - WHY?????
