Pally, I think you missed something important abouy Executor's Will at 16: it doesn't only give you full charge, it also increases your spell power and reduces your Basic and Heroic ability cooldowns by 25% while it's active - and it lasts until you drop from 100% charge. You should be popping it all the time, whether you're at full charge or not!
One thing Pally didn't mention is the additional Spell Power and CDR that Executor's WIll gives you.
Also, Executor's Will lasts as long as you keep your energy at 100%
Twilight Archon keeps your energy at 100% for as long as you are in that form
So, as long as you can keep Twlight Archon going with auto attacks, you can maintain both buffs for quite a long time and leverage a TON of power out of them.
Yeah I feel like that is the most important part of the talent. It lets your auto attacks support your spells, rather than being an activatable to enhance your autos.
My wife was very upset when Tassadar was changed. I was like "well, it fits now because High Templars are squishy immobile damaging spellcasters", but she was having none of that. "I don't care about your lore, you nerd! They removed one of my favorite characters from the game! Let me be upset!"
she's right. tass could've remained as he was and introduce a new character. nobody would've cared if half the kit was identical.
BUTT!! i also understand that tassadar pre-rework was a menace to balance. allowing "double support" to get a hyper carry, like Valla, to just POP nerds. used that in Team league 3-4 years ago. Valla, Tass, healer, tank and just 4 man push one lane to core in 10 minutes.
I like both old and new tass, so while I miss hero I liked, I have a new one I also enjoy :)
About build pally:
-usually with this build people pick oracle when enemy has a lot of spell damage (Zeebo/junk/death wing). Oracle now provides 30 spell shield and HP Regen when you are charged up
-16 has 40sec cd and grants spell power - good to use before every fight

I used to like the auto attack build but I found it alittle lack luster, and the archon kinda works against your lvl one talent. Q build can hit pretty hard and electric fence is so useful,and Q is still great in archon form.
W build is my favorite, and it's really good with Electric Fence.
Agreed here especially between the three armor based heroes with a lot of health Q build with the percent health damage would have absolutely shredded even more than usual. After the rework q build was the first thing I tried and it proved to be amazing. Against the nazeebo it would have been hard to get hit as well with the movement speed buffs and you could still take talents like the oracle and whatnot. Then at level 20 for me usually force barrier just for extra utility and escape plans.
@@atsukana1704 Then again, it's really easy for Naz to use your channel to drop his spiders and wall on top of you. Q build is good, but frankly a nazeebo (a good one anyway) is really scary to play it into.
Ugh FINALLY some HOTS content. I really like the game, but it's pretty hard to get in touch with the community and find content creators of the game. Happy to have discovered you, Pally ;)
Quick thing about Executor's Will: yes it instantly puts your charge at 100, but the main benefit is a spell power increase that lasts for as long as your charge remains at 100. So it's a lot better to use it when you can rather than save it just to put your charge at 100
When Pally talked about the Shadow Walk talent it made me remeber the Hyper Car Build. *sigh* good times

I've been trying this burst Tass build with Black Hole, Electric Force Wall and Q quest lately. It feels very good to pull off on clumped up enemy team and most of the time straight up demolishes them.
The set-up is most important, in order to stop the enemies form sliding along the full Black Hole trajectory, you have to place the Force Wall behind the enemies. This way, they hit the wall while stuned and left open for full combo of psi and Q
4:05 - 4:30 basically encompasses the new Tassadar COMPLETELY. One second you're all "POWAAAAAAAH! UNLIMITED POWAAAAAAAAH!" and then "pls halp pls plss pls im squishy pls halp" in the blink of an eye
Also miss old Tassadar. Was so fun to play.
An important side-note Pally could have used executor's will (Lv16) more liberally.
In addition to charging the amulet (trait) it give spell power and cdr for basic ability. The cooldown of executor's will start when you press your
''1'' key and last until you lose the amulet charge.
I was extremely frustrated with his non-use of his lvl 16 talent, so thank you for pointing that out.
I loved pre-Tass. The dmg it dealt with the life shield made him a sustain god.
Feel like i could of played better there, playing Az Was so fun but i felt i lost us that match... Keep up great work pally loved playing and watching this vid :D

Something that I love to do as tassadar is channel into the building and pull the aggro off the obj/minnions. makes them last much longer
Every time you were in danger in this video I expected you to escape with his old phase warp ability. Super weird to see that not happening.
Holy crap, I havent played this game in YEARS and Tassadar is now a completely different hero from what he used to be. Imma miss the vamp shields and psionic storms.

The thing I actually miss the most about old Tassadar was some of the auto-attack talents. Specifically, the one that allowed you to deal 1% max HP in damage per tick of the laser while Oracle was active, back when that was his trait. Oracle was a good button already, but it was really satisfying to have basically Tychus's trait as a selectable talent. Nowadays if I'm not mistaken, his only percent damage is on a talent for his Q, which doesn't really feel right for a 'tank busting' talent. I'd really like if we had an option to instead do something like that old talent I mentioned, or maybe even a talent that deals %hp damage to people who are in Psi-storm when it ends. Or, add to that one talent at 13 and make autos do % damage while the target is in Psi-storm.
Currently I'm just not very happy with the autoattack build, because it feels kind of anemic compared to most other AA-based heros, and a lot of the real power of it comes from stuff like the free W that casts from your autos, which feels like it defeats the purpose of an actual AA build. It also doesn't feel very good that Archon still doesn't utilize the level 1 autoattack talents at all, when its most noteworthy feature is an *autoattack modifier*. So it feels like in most games you're just meant to pick the Q build with Archon, and the edge case is maybe W build for black hole and big plays around chokepoints. It just seems like anything the AA build does you're safer and more effective with any other build.

I think AA build should still require a lot of spells. AA is important, but I think they key is to weave in spells too.
If you want to win in this kind of game don't take Feedback at 13. Instead take Oracle for the Spell Armor and Health Regen. If that was taken Nazeebo spider build does literally nothing as you regen shields with spell armor plus the health regen. Also you can survive burst as well such as the Junkrat ult. The fact you can scan boss whenever you feel the need is just a bonus.
I just got into Hots, and so far Tassadar is one of my favorite Heroes.
More for his Laser build though.

I miss Brightwings Poly build where you could select the talent, i think at 16, for it to be reset if the person who you polyd died you could cast it again :)

Enemy team won from better coordination. Your friendly team was often divided on what the appropriate play was, while the enemy team played great defense
When it came time for the changes, I had mixed feelings about it at first. On one hand, I did like being able to shield and support allies as old Tass, but at the same time... playing as a Solo player was a nightmare at times. If the team wasn't built around having him, then you could easily suffer the same problem as Abathur in some maps/match-ups where it's hard for him to contribute. He also just didn't fit the fantasy of being a High Templar at all, which always bugged me even though I still liked the old playstyle. Outside of a brief window of time where he was sorely overtuned, his contribution in matches was always really iffy.
But once the new changes came through, things made a lot more sense. I miss shielding allies consistently, but changing the force wall into a basic ability was a fun change to mess around with and learn - when it was a heroic, it always felt incredibly underwhelming for supposedly being a hero's most powerful ability. It still lets him have a measure of utility/support, but being able to also use it offensively to secure kills is so nice. Getting used to the auto-attack charge was a little weird at first, but once I realized you could stutter-step with him, it made it feel a lot less awkward.
As for the loss of mobility... I get it. I can see why people would be upset about that, but to be honest? Even as someone who liked old Tass, I always found his hyper mobility so strange and kind of insufferable to play against when I wasn't playing him - and I felt kind of dirty at times when I would almost always be able to slip away from potential death with absurd ease.
The old Tassadar was fun as a unique shield based support role, but I think we can all agree it wasn't very 'templar'. I definitely miss the playstyle because it was almost alittle like Ragnaros with his E talents. Mostly offensive with some unique support. New Tass is like right out of the Starcraft CGI cutscenes and i love it.
As much as I love new tassadar, old tassadar was my main forever and I’ll mourn his loss every day
This build is so damn cool. And even playable when you are drunk.
The Tass rework made him feel like a different hero. Sometimes that’s good, but he had a pretty solid identity before his rework and I never managed to get behind his new kit.

Archon is definitely the better of the two ults, only issue though is you lose a lot of the AA talents (you keep the shield though) when you pick it, so a q build with archon is generally better :)
Tassadar before this rework used to be one of my favorite character in heroes. this new version was good but I still prefer the old one. remember when you can shield buildings and shield gives you life steal?

I know the feeling of disliking a rework all too well. Tyrande getting changed from a dps pseudo-healer-in-a-pinch to a full on healer eventually stopped me from coming back to the game.
Did it make her more viable? Yeah, no question she was in a healthier spot after the rework, but I hated it. Before the rework she had enough damage and juuust enough self healing that a twin blade Varian would lose the 1v1, but it was slow enough that they wouldn't realize it until it was too late. It was fun.
After the change she could kind of still do these things, but not as well. The real death knell was her getting pigeonholed in to the healer selection pool for queueing. Even if I COULD still do those things, if I didn't want my team to lose from the word go, I couldn't even try.
This might be an sfq but why are the sippy cups invulnerable? They never used to be.

Pally, as a (new) Tass main I gotta tell u dawg that W build is the way to go, with dmg wall @ lvl 4(which becomes so OP with the lvl 20 wall talent. Try it, hope u gonna forget about the old Tass:) Oh, and lvl 7 laser makes a puddle on contact. Have fun!

New Tass is fun but very hard to get used to.
60-9-1 now following your builds. I wasn't expecting to like auto attack better than the Q build but this was shockingly fun. Any time I can win vs a chogall it feels like a relief because despite all my time playing this game I'm still awful against a chogall.

The problem with old Tassadar is he made the double support meta happen.... by himself and so he effected the entire cadence of the game from drafts to balancing... it was too much.
I've personally never enjoyed AA Tassadar after his rework. I've tried it multiple times but it just feels so much worse than Q build or even W build, which confuses me since I rarely ever see people doing them
What do you mean? I've mostly only seen Q build myself, and primarily play it. W-build has always seemed like the odd-man out in my experience.
Eh probably confirmation bias on my part. I mainly play Q build as well, and occasionally I'll do W if I want to do something different or if they've got a ton of hard cc.

Tha malf has really made some weird decisions on the last 1/3 of the game...
I hated the Hypercar, I know it’s shameful to admit it, but it just didn’t feel like an effective psi-lightning wielding hero as Tassadar was presented as being, the new rework is amazing in this regard, he finally feels like a Templar.
Really, I cannot over emphasise enough how the ‘oh, you heal and you’re super mobile but basically only exist to do poke damage and use your wall (if you’re good enough, otherwise add moderate dps through archon)’ felt so *bad* to the point I simply didn’t want to play the character. Sure, not every character should be a damage dealer, and it might be argued that’s where Tassadar sits now. But prior to that he was just not terribly effective, interesting or thematic to me.
But I did enjoy watching the Hypercar build, because I wasn’t having to play :-)
My only big regret is the weirdness of black hole - I would rather they had put some advanced psi-storm or time warp ability there, or ‘summon carrier’ to Jim Laneors Hyperion, anything but a power that feels like Zeratul should be wielding it.

Kinda weird that no other hero has a reliable shield to give to allies like tassadar had, its such a simple but fun way to support. Zarya kinda has it but that character never did it for me.
