- The Heroes Nations Cup is a Heroes of the Storm tournament series, leading to an offline final in Berlin Germany! The main event takes place on June 10th & 11th and has the participating teams fight for a minimum prize-pool of $5000! In total 6 teams will be able to qualify for the offline part of the Heroes of the Storm tournament and represent their country (4x EU, 1x NA, 1x Asia)! To make the drafts and games more interesting for the audience and players, the tournament will adopt part of the META Madness ruleset: each hero can only be played ONCE within a match (Bo3/Bo5).

The whole Nations Cup was such an awesome series but the finals were especially entertaining to watch - insane production value and outstanding performances by the players. Thanks to everyone involved, super grateful to still see such an impressive level of play in HotS in 2023. Sincerely hoping for another event like this in the foreseeable future!

It was seriously their best esports game and most fun to watch! I mean SC2 is nice, but that’s just not as big over here. Blizz really did drop the ball on that..

I love the tournament format, because all my favorite heros get used even if they're not quite top tier. That said, allowing 4 healers to be pre-banned made the last match a bit weird. Keep up the great content!
Playing too much Storm League cost them that last game if they knew quick match meta (Which is what QM's usually are, no healer and no proper tanks) they would have known that Lunara needed leaping strike, and taking Thornwood Vine cost them that game, It's literally impossible for Lunara to play safe enough with Vine and not be zoned all game (Without healer or proper tank). She must have leaping strike for the escape when inevitably caught, and the chaos that it creates is enough to pick it up anyway (bait them to focus you for like 10 seconds 3v1 and still make it out, using R on a wall or clone). Then your team wins the 4v2 and you live anyway, can't believe Lunara made that mistake.
Love the good sense of humor and laughter after US first win. Awesome.
Never really followed HOTS pro scene but I watched and I'm happy it's still alive. Not sure how you made this happen but bless you.

that last match was just superb, it's really a masterclass on how play underplayed heroes. Was kinda upset at the meta madness format when they ran out of supports, but how else are you going to see a team of non-meta heroes in an entire match 💯💯

It's bittersweet seeing this game still having big tournaments, because I know it won't last much longer. Blizzard drops the ball with everything these days, but HotS was especially sad. The design team was given so much freedom to interpret the style of Blizzard's ips however they wanted and it had a lot of really unique things for the genre. A few really bad design choices kind of ruined it though, I wish it had gotten huge back when it was new.
What an enjoyable game - can't believe they're allowing it to wither on the vine.
Game 7 the German team really outsmarted NA in the draft. You know what characters don't need as much healing? The ones who are invisible for most of the game.
Did this happen this year? If so, I'm surprised and delighted to know there are still professional tournaments taking place with hots.

What do the pre-banned heroes mean? Do the players ban them or is it sort of an organization thing?
Also this is very cool, I had never seen professional HotS played before, and I'm glad it has somewhat of an active scene. These matches were great!
It's part of the tournament format we used for the Nations Cup, intended to force teams to think outside the box and draft underused Heroes

Imo, the format should reduce the number of pre-banned by more than half (from 10 to 4 maybe), and increase 1 ban for the middle of the pick phase.
