I love how Pally has little things to add character to his stream. "Jim Laner" "KARAZEEEM" etc. when he does his intros. I don't think hes going to get into Pokemon Unite too much more (sadly) but he did the same thing for "Soccer Bunny" and "Thundercat". I also loved him and Truckslyr yelling out the time on the clock when they would lag.
The Darkness Within was actually changed a lot at some point which I didn't even know until I saw you pick it up. Used to just give you bonus spell power for your next ability every time you Life Tap, if I'm not mistaken. And you say, you don't have to think about it, but you didn't use it there around the 15 minute mark, which would probably kill the core there, considering how much dmg you did even without it. Love the series every year. Hope you know I comment like a smartass sometimes but it's always with good intentions, love and care that I have for you Pally. Thank you for all the years of great entertainment
Yeah darkness within used to not have a requirement to use and would give the bonus on the next spell cast. There used to be a build I remember where you Would select 2 or 3 talents that increased spell power and then cast a super amped rain of destruction.
No mana cost, kill reset, damage, healing, and can get a slow built into it. Drain life has it all, thankfully it is balanced out by the `standing in place channel` thing it has. Great ability.
I see the other way around. Rooting yourself and building your whole build around a skill that can be stop by a knockback. It HAS TO give you something very good for that trade off.
I remember when you were trying that gul’dan build that pumped up his spellpower and then you’d just dump your ult on people and hope for massive damage, that was fun to watch haha
I love Pally! Thanks for your presence and your videos! It brings me a lot of joy and pleasure after work, surgery & though training sesh. I send a lot of love & health to you and take care of yourself! Cheers from Latvia 🇱🇻
Gul'dan is so much fun. I adore that he just vomits out damage with a super easy low cooldown attack. You just get to hit stuff and feel good about it when you play him.
My poor monitor recieving all the curses and screams from watching you not pop your trait to empower Rain of Destruction at the 22:05 ish Mark 😭 All jokes aside - Great video and great game!
Pally's Ghoulish Daniel games are some of my favorite games, honestly. Also lol @ "I'm gonna walk up to the wall and just fuckin' die" like play by play
First video I've seen from this guy. Well made. Slightly funny. And probably the greatest ratio difference between dislikes and likes. Only 11 dislikes is nuts.
maybe not so much in a team fight, but there were plenty of times where you have missing mana and full health and you drain. try to life tap first to get your mana up and take advantage of the heal from the drain.
The Drain Life talent at level 4 not only resets the cooldown on kill, it also reduces the cooldown the longer you channel, effectively resetting it on a full channel.
Believe you would have ended when you died at the core if you life tapped for that spell power buff. Can use it a lot during team fights since it doesn't cost any HP if you did the damage to proc the buff.
I feel like Gul’dan is one of the best characters in terms of talent diversity. All of his builds, q build, e build, and succ build are viable. Honestly one of the best character designs in the game imo.
always drain life build. its ridiculously oppressively, need stun to get killed, and stopped anyone trying to run away in their tracks with one of the most powerful slows in the game.
I'm kind of surprised you'd pick rain of destruction into a comp that includes the likes of Diablo and KT, and a big damage dive hero like greymane with tass walls and whitemane roots. Seems very feast or famine?
My main is Guldan by +100 levels compared to the next Character. Been doing life drain build for 2ish years. Keep in mind life drain isn't just about the damage but about to heal. Base life drain is 132 Damage + 188 healing is 320 equivalent DPS. 1: Taking life drain on level 1 (Chaotic Energy) gives you +15% range which is huge! Plus when you complete your quest it reduces your mana cost by -20 per ability (-25% mana cost), that is also huge for a character that converts its own life into mana. 4: Take it again at 4 (Health Funnel) and you get faster cooldown. So even if you are stunned or have to stop life draining early, the 2 seconds of life drain mean the 10 sec cooldown is actually only 6 seconds, meaning you can life drain right away. This also gives you easy health from minions as the instant reset it and more lane presence or camp taking. 7: (Curse of Exhaustion) is where your damage (+25%) and cc is amazing for your team. Slowing a char means your team can way more easy skill shot that player. It allows you life drain for longer, further speeding up the cooldown on life drain in synergy with level 4. The reason I take horrify is Guldan has a survival issue, not a damage issue. 13: (Harvest Life), taking life drain again is the final piece because your total life drain healing goes up +75% but keep in mind the total damage is worth 2x so now your DPS is equivalent to 527. 16: (Darkness within) is another huge boost that once you get enough damage (600 which is easy) you get 0 cost to life tap (222 health savings) and +25% spell power making your life drain another that much better. Now your damage is equal to about 688 dps. The final and most important piece of Guldans kit is level 20, Demonic circle. You now have the power to run away! As well as absorb others teams ults (then run way), push up way more than you should, be able to fast travel for objectives and most importantly, not die*. (*dying very likely still.) Thanks for these amazing videos Pally! I watch every one!
Gul'dan's counter is CC, as it is with a fair few Assassin heroes. He has no means of escape aside from the level 20 Demonic Rune talent. So if you're out of position at all, then you just die unless maybe it's a 1v1.
Jimmy was a pretty boring character, but was really good as a straight forward laning character. So it's Jim Lanor (as in always in the solo lane) because he is so good at it.
@@feinne7652 It's funny because other than Tracer's bouncing autoattack (50% chance 8 times a second very quickly averages out to something reasonable and reliable), Rain of Destruction is the only other instance of RNG in the game. They're so close to getting it all off of the game. And Gul'dan even has a spell where circular instances of damage happen in a set sequence with set intervals between them, which you can skillfully aim for massive damage: Corruption. Just give Rain the Corruption treatment, Gul'dan players will love that stuff! Get creative! Make it draw a Horde symbol on the ground with the projectiles, I don't care. Just make it 100% the same every single time.
Rain of Destruction is still garbage in comparison to Horrify. Horrify is such a versatile playmaker that not using Horrify at all is useful, because the enemy team has to respect it.
I don't understand why anyone no matter their experience with the game would want to go q build. The level 1 q talent is the worst in the game because all it does once completed is increase the radius of q by 10%. You can already hit an entire minion wave with untalented q so why anyone would want to even consider that talent is nuts to me.
23-5 now playing your builds. This was probably the worst guldan game I've ever played. Sitting still vs tracer and zeratul does not make for a good time. I like the build but this was not the match for it. I'll take the win and run
"Ima walk up to the wall and just fucking die." Best line ever
18:34 for those who want to relive the experience
Another one: "Are you scared!" and secon later "i'm dead as f*k"
Loved the flat out denial of the boss win ask at the end!

Oh yeah, what happened to his Pokemon Unite series? I hope it's just on hold cause of A-Z and it'll pick back up after...
Went back to the 2018, dynamic spellpower, 2021 pally still loves how nerdy it is, and still uses KT pyro and ana as example lol
Being a long time viewer, it makes me happy every time I hear it lol

Every time I watch one of your videos I'm like "Dang it I want to play Hots"
'I'm gonna walk up to the walk and just fucking die'
I know that feeling
"I'm just going to walk up to the wall and fu***** die" lmao I laughed so hard XD
I remember when you were trying that gul’dan build that pumped up his spellpower and then you’d just dump your ult on people and hope for massive damage, that was fun to watch haha
It's always a bit of a moment when you're playing Gul'Dan and you end up on the board under 'Main Healer', too
I love Pally!

20:08 "My bad, dude."
Nah you were in perfect character for what Gul'dan likes to do lol
Gul'dan is so much fun. I adore that he just vomits out damage with a super easy low cooldown attack. You just get to hit stuff and feel good about it when you play him.
15:01 That play was so good it caused Pally’s mic to dip.
My poor monitor recieving all the curses and screams from watching you not pop your trait to empower Rain of Destruction at the 22:05 ish Mark 😭
All jokes aside - Great video and great game!
you were not the only one
Ty for introducing me to this wonderful game
18:20 that's a pretty slick Gul'Dan moonwalk build.
Pally's Ghoulish Daniel games are some of my favorite games, honestly.
Also lol @ "I'm gonna walk up to the wall and just fuckin' die" like play by play
That tassadar kill..... Oh my. Didn't know I could enjoy a video more than the greymane video but this is tough....
Gulish'Daniel was fun to play, back when I still played Blizzard games. :)
First video I've seen from this guy. Well made. Slightly funny. And probably the greatest ratio difference between dislikes and likes. Only 11 dislikes is nuts.
26:00 Beautiful Raynor/Guldan ULT combo
The ghoulish Daniel gameplay is pretty slick as always makes me kinda want to pick up the game and give it a go for some reason.
This character and your videos got me into heroes yhank you Pally
That boss call at the end 😂😂😂
maybe not so much in a team fight, but there were plenty of times where you have missing mana and full health and you drain. try to life tap first to get your mana up and take advantage of the heal from the drain.
Love the Pally interludes!
I *love* rain with drain build. I take it as a one point wonder along with the panic button at 20, make taking late keeps a breeze.
I feel like Pally got more Greymaneitis during this Game than last.
that Tass kill at 15 mins should have felt sooooo good.
B.A. Guldan walkoff with the kill :)

Manny: "Say something nice!"
Tyr: "Uhh, you rock!"
My family: Where is the Q key?!
Me: Gone, reduced to atoms.
Corruption kept landing but he kept saying it was missing lol
I feel like Gul’dan is one of the best characters in terms of talent diversity. All of his builds, q build, e build, and succ build are viable.
Honestly one of the best character designs in the game imo.
Yeah, Gul'dan is up there with Jaina in terms of talent diversity. It's really nice to see.
I can totally relate to 18:34. LOL
Ghoulish Daniel :)
Loved the Warcraft movie! Wish they could have continued the story.
I used to watch too many infomercials at night so when describing Rain of Destruction I tell people they can set it and forget it
Love the drain life build. Very fun even if you have a team that can counter that.
I don’t even play this game. Dude is just entertaining to watch.
it was always odd to me that you can't see the range of drain life when its active similar to leoric's creepy hand
Ghoulish Daniel draining life for living
I felt like he was about to finish the game him self with the ult, bad sadly he didn't
I know it's not the best, but Q build is so fun, pestering the enemy team with endless siege.
Love all your content my dude
How is this man the greatest commentator ever while playing the game!??!?!?!
He's one of my favorite characters
baiting diablo in and not getting like a triple suck reset was when i stopped the video
27:52 XD
*GHOULISH DANIEL!* Still love that.
always drain life build. its ridiculously oppressively, need stun to get killed, and stopped anyone trying to run away in their tracks with one of the most powerful slows in the game.
huh sense when could you have one of the same chacter on both teams?
Aww, I was hoping for a stealth Rain to finish the core :(
I'm kind of surprised you'd pick rain of destruction into a comp that includes the likes of Diablo and KT, and a big damage dive hero like greymane with tass walls and whitemane roots. Seems very feast or famine?
Rain of Destruction is just "assert dominance"
wait wait is that a team with a tank AND healer?
is this still heroes?
Could you move your camera to the right side of the screen for intros? It wouldn't cover up the skill and talent stuff on the left then.
Do you know of that you are my favorite content creator?

Dude. Life tap during ROD.
Oohhhhhh
"boss win pls" lol
W build is also stupid good for ARAMs.
I always felt like Guldan has just a tiny bit too much sustain for a hero able to dish out such an absurd amount of AOE damage.
Gul'dan's counter is CC, as it is with a fair few Assassin heroes. He has no means of escape aside from the level 20 Demonic Rune talent. So if you're out of position at all, then you just die unless maybe it's a 1v1.

good stuff!

gogo algorythm!
They really should turn Rain of Destruction from an RNG-fest into a set pattern that you can properly aim.
Yup. Rng is pretty trash and is why Riot finally changed Gangplank's ult to what it is now (used to be identical in function to Guldan's Rain).
