I really like the Butcher and he's one of my top 2 heroes. The most important thing to remember when you play the butcher is no matter what happens on the map it's always the butchers fault.
@@Cavalier5 Butcher can reach 200 or more meats by his own. It is a walk in the park if the enemy has no heroes such as etc, Lili, bw etc... in my definition he is a perfect hero for mastering macro play as well bc decision making on him will be the difference between victory and defeat which is why i like him you can constanly work around his kit making enemies bee on their toes if you play your cards right
@@angussharington2374 Justing was a member of Team Wildheart for Heroes Hearth CCL (ESports) but then became their analytics guy for the last season, and Bahamut is one of the casters for CCL and prolific member of the Heroes Hearth team.
I think the key is to bait out the enemy team abilities with the Jo initiating. Then butcher can go in with Jaina with cooldowns. Tough either way as they were grouped well in those fights. Thanks for the video!
I used to play the butcher like a trade card, go in take someone down and die in the process, but you can hopefully survive if you save your brand for a second target. I always preferred the empowered attack on the lvl 13, because that forces me to pick my engagement and make then even more impactful
I'm 60-10-1 now following your builds. Just got completely outpushed by a team built for pushing hard. I prefer the Q build still but this was alright. Hope you got something good for the Vikings because I'm awful with them
A good butcher with a good abathur is a very scary team fight combo. But as a commenter said below, escaping can be very hard if your team mates don't commit to helping you get out. It's definitely a good idea to pair him with someone that can get him out. Garrosh, Abathur speed carapace, anduin, zaraya, diva even. Anyone that can help him disengage in any way at all is desired. Another key to butcher is don't die. Obvious huh? It's actually worse to die late game than early game. Your mere existence somewhere on the map is a big deal. If you are gathering meat, you are a distraction. You are the kill target and you can use that to get your team kills to get you meat. After you are 200 meat you are the F'ing boogieman. Not showing as butcher can be really powerful. But being dead late game is a big relief to the enemy team especially if you have been scaling well. Your team is likely to throw by taking fights they have no business taking because they are used to your damage being there, and now it's not.
Lol! Not sure you were aware but you had Justing and Bahamut from CCL in this match as Illidan and Abathur! So a former pro player ought count for competitive :p Pretty fun to see some of the community overlap there. I watched their Abuthur I'll game last week!
Butcher Protip: Charge is not an engage (Unless you have Lamb to the Slaughter), it's a cleanse / finish wombo combo tool. Charge when they're trying to escape then W,Q for a quick finisher.
Hey Pally, I'm avoiding watching other youtubers playthrough of Elden Ring because I am holding out hopes you will release a playthrough - think you will?
I love the butcher. But yes he can be tough to play depending on the team he’s up against. Though I always go for lamb and slaughterhouse. That aoe silence for 12 years is too strong to pass up.
this match is the perfect example of why the butcher wasnt picked in high level play, cleanses, ice blocks, displacements, blinds, etc. he is too much of a one trick pony, still the best hero to quickmatch stomp
Pally in 9:30 where u died wirh BW u should Attacked directly after u got 200 since u both or you for sure were already " dead" and u Should have dealt dmg Also Problem is pally you put your Brand wayy to early on wrong heroes in fight where u said now Pick kills when enemie Team did bot Camp at around lvl 23 or so you should have put Brand on rejgar
One of the most braindead chars out there... Some "hard engagers" like Sonya or Kerrigan have interesting survival tools in their kits but Butcher is "nope, imma go die now". This said, a main Medivh like myself truly loves a fellow Butcher in the comp.
Completely wrong, yes there are a lot of bad Butcher players but he can also be played well. There's some skill to it. Team needs to play around him. If team doesn't assist butcher engage then he'll do badly, same as if people flame and play badly just because of Butcher pick.
People in qm rarely cleanse...especially since you need to talent for it on some heroes. As a result my butcher winrate is actually disgusting. 68% over 300 matches.
You lost as soon as you queued lost vikings into an abathur illidan. The entire game was a 4v5 because the TLV are one of those characters that may as well not exist in most match ups. They are good at exactly one thing - macro play, but ONLY if the enemy team has absolutely no macro play of their own. There was just no way for your team to answer that illidan, especially when he was backed by the two most busted supports in the game.
I tried. Was hard to stay in fights once the Illidan started zoning me. Johana was balls deep in every fight, so no peels for backline. Illidan with a hat runnin' wild.
I presume you'd watch because you like his content, and showing the losses with the victories is more authentic than padding one's channel with just the wins
If he only uploaded his wins, then why would anyone watch when they know the outcome? Also A-Z is about highlighting a hero, not just for showing victories. But if all you want is to watch wins, I could start a channel and only play against AI if you want. Make sure you like, comment, subscribe. And don't forget to hit the bell, my frand.

Bahamut and Justing on abba illidan pretty rough
Hi Justing and Bahamut, thanks for the amazing CCL!
The Butcher was always a fun character to play in a non serious way, just because of how all in he was.
