Prince William’s role in stopping his uncle Prince Andrew appearing in public this week was splashed across front pages. The Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden says this was an example of how he is ‘throwing his weight around more’, by refusing to appear at the Order of the Garter procession alongside his disgraced uncle Prince Andrew. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, did, however, appear with his wife Kate Middleton.

Prince William’s role in stopping his uncle Prince Andrew appearing in public this week was splashed across front pages. Given the past behaviour of Prince Andrew, do you feel the Duke of Cambridge was justified in his decision?
Prince William was absolutely justified in his actions. Charles and William apart from wanting a slimmed down monarchy want to be more accountable and transparent in their actions. Andrew, with his long history of aggrandisement,entitlement and generally obnoxious behaviour, not withstanding the shocking debacle re Virginia Guiffre, seems to have form for not paying his debts (ie his Swiss chalet) and accepting money and other perks from some pretty dubious characters can continue to be allowed to bring disrepute to the monarchy

Unfortunately, who is a Counselor of State is set in law (Regency Act 1937). Harry will cease to be one once he is no longer considered to be domiciled in the UK, but I doubt Andrew will move abroad. After Charles, William, Harry and Andrew, next in line are Edward and his son, James.

Prince William made the right call! The people don’t want to see Andrew in public roles. Even if Andrew was never judged as guilty,still, the people’s choice is a very important consideration.
Andrew was never declared "guilty" because it never went to court, because the Queen paid off (gave Andrew the money to pay off) Giuffre, who was obviously in it for the money). That does not mean he is "clean". He obviously did something legally unsavoury. It just means Giuffre was paid off for her silence.

As an American, my view is that there cannot ever be a reconciliation between the two brothers as long as H is married to MM. Should they ever divorce and H realize the damages he has caused, that any reconciliation is possible. H was raised Royal but is trying to be a celebrity. Wallis never loved David. She was enamored with his status and little else. She married David because she was out of other options.
