I think you have missed the mark about William and Harry. William has been betrayed by a very selfish younger brother who has had a chip on his shoulder about being second and not understanding his role. It was not just the leaving it was the manner of leaving. William will realise that Harry cannot be relied upon in any way and any future relationship will only ever be superficial.

Prince William is not going to have 70 yrs to prepare to be King, no matter how well Charles look after himself, I can't see him lasting until he's 140yrs. So Prince William is working closely with both his Grandmother & father to learn the State craft & tactfulness he will require to successfully manage a Constitutional Moonarchcy going forward.

Why you all think Harry needs William? They're grown adults and living separate lives. William wanted Harry to remain his spare and got hateful when he refused. Harry's life has been stabilized the first time since his mother's death. Why would he want to return to an environment full of hate and disunity?
I loved the little sister who came along when I was 5. I grew to hate her more and more to almost the point of loathing. Even so, I tolerated her occasional drunken telephone calls, even when they became quite vicious rantings. I realised that she needed that outlet at that moment but I didn't attend her funeral and I only remember her now as her birth date passes. Sad? Perhaps but one doesn't choose family and friends from formative years are often the truest and most cherished friends for ever in your life, not necessarily or naturally ones siblings. We all grow up and despite the same parentage, not always in the same direction.
One hopeful note: Let us not forget that both Charles and William have a tremendous support of two strong women in their lives who are both peacemakers. They both are part of both The Firm and much loved and respected members of the Family. Both men hold their wives in the highest esteem and two ladies are their sole confidants. Camilla and Catherine share a bodacious sense of humor, love of family, and a constant listening ear to their husbands. On the topic of the two Royal Gentlemen's possible disagreements, I believe these two feminine comrades in arms will play a vital role in the lessening of skirmishes!

Andrew is no longer going to play an active Royal role not only because of Andrew’s poor choices but also because of Charles’s decision to slim down the Monarchy in order to ease the burden on taxpayers. It all seems quite sensible, really. Andrew needs to accept that the inevitable and get on with a life of retirement. The citizens have spoken on the matter. If Andrew were allowed to return to an active Royal role, that would be the end of the Monarchy without a doubt.

I heard racism (with menace) for the very first time on returning to the UK and going into a deepest Somerset pub for the first time in 40 years. I made the mistake (at 73) of countering the views of these 25 to 50 year olds only to be told "We are the Snowflake generation and it is the "Snowflakes" who rule now!!" I was physically grabbed and pushed out of the door to be told in vernacular, never to go back to their pub again. These being agricultural and construction guys who'd probably never been further than 50 miles from their home in their entire lives. Perhaps William ‘s deep love for Catherine has helped him understand that Charles and Camilla had that love for each other and even though the circumstances that prevented them from being together at the time they tried to go on and create a life with others but their love for each other was so strong for each other they just couldn’t let them work. There was the insistence from Charles with the divorce that Diana could no longer hold the HRH was a difficult part of the settlement. Because Diana was so hurt by Charles’s insistence William tried to console her by telling her when he was King he would give it back to her. I’m sure that closeness he shard with Diana was part of his resentment toward Charles and it is usually the case when there is a divorce the children tend to side with the parent they are closest to which was Diana. I’m glad he appears to have let that resentment go because with his future role as Duke of Wales there is so much more he can learn from his father that may not have been accepted if he was still holding on to anger.

It would be foolish to trust someone that did that to you, but to do it repeatedly for years is near impossible. There is always hope but it will never be the same as it was & it’s quite unlikely.
It’s so very sad. I know that family members sometimes fall out after a death because the deceased person was the glue holding them all together. The talk here is that, as a child, H used to have screaming fits that only William could calm. I suspect William had to grow up quickly, to be his mother’s confidante and to be a strong support to H. Most of us rebel as we try to grow up. I wonder if H hurts his brother in trying to grow up or differentiate himself. It would be such a tragedy to hit out irrevocably at a brother who loved you and always had your back.
I think the painting is wonderful! I love that William has his hand is in his pocket. The cocktail party look works for this young couple as partners and confident. The satin dress has a bit of retro 70s and that’s cool and current.

He called it “genetic pain,” a term I never understood. I think he meant “generational pain.” He said his father only parented (badly) the way he was parented, which implicated both Prince Philip and the Queen. Who knows what he really meant. It was painful to his family for him to have asserted any form of the thought in public. Saying “genetic pain” and not “generational pain” suggests there is something fundamentally wrong or painful about the DNA they all share. And that would not explain why moving to CA would solve anything. So I think he meant “generational.” He never (to my knowledge) includes Diana in the evaluation.
I like how Prince William has grown into a mature man. He will be a wonderful King when he comes to the throne. William has a loving wife in Catherine who helps to keep William grounded. It seems that William has gotten closer to Prince Charles. Both Charles and William have wives who are strong women. Unfortunately, Harry married a delusional person who has managed to bring out the worst in Harry.
I like the “style” of W&K portrait. It doesn’t show their age - kind of air brushed. Kate is beautiful even with her eye and smile lines. This is a maturing women. The next official portrait will be just as lovely if done in a “realistic” style. Those two are made to be painted. 😊

Sitting here in Michigan and following the monarchy for every meme, news information. there's one fact or feature that noone remembers. That is; Charles (before he he met Diana) was in love with Camilla... Charles did not have the intestinal fortitude to disagree with the firm or disagree with his grandmother...he went along with those who were older, wiser they "bossed him around" made him marry Diana. I think this portrait is fabulous, Catherine’s beauty has been captured to perfection. Her chosen dress is ideal for a painting because of how the light and dark and shine plays off each other. I think Williams face looks a bit odd I don’t think captures the essence of William. Williams face looks kind of flat. But on the whole it’s beautiful.

I think you have missed the mark about William and Harry. William has been betrayed by a very selfish younger brother who has had a chip on his shoulder about being second and not understanding his role. It was not just the leaving it was the manner of leaving. William will realise that Harry cannot be relied upon in any way and any future relationship will only ever be superficial.

So Prince William is working closely with both his Grandmother & father to learn the State craft & tactfulness he will require to successfully manage a Constitutional Moonarchcy going forward.

Not political when a faceless accusation has been made. The Portrait is a message of the future, and a glance back at what has gone before. They show a loving strong team. And Catherine jewellery was a beautiful homeage to The Queen and Diana. It’s simply so well painted 👌 William needs to keep H at arms length and I think that saddens him. H is unraveling and it’s horrible to watch!! But as a British citizen I doubt I can ever forgive H and I’m not in the minority. I think life and one's own mortality, become more obvious when you hit 40. At 30 you can double your age and think you still have lots of time left. At 40, you double your age and realise you have already lived almost half of your life, if you are lucky. Forty is the first wake-up call for many people to consider their priorities, because the clock, like time and tides, wait for nobody.

Why you all think Harry needs William? They're grown adults and living separate lives. William wanted Harry to remain his spare and got hateful when he refused. I loved the little sister who came along when I was 5. I grew to hate her more and more to almost the point of loathing. Even so, I tolerated her occasional drunken telephone calls, even when they became quite vicious rantings. I realised that she needed that outlet at that moment but I didn't attend her funeral and I only remember her now as her birth date passes. Sad? Perhaps but one doesn't choose family and friends from formative years are often the truest and most cherished friends for ever in your life, not necessarily or naturally ones siblings. We all grow up and despite the same parentage, not always in the same direction.
Harry has had his head ripped off and put back the way his cable TV wife thinks is fitting for annex Prince who now prefers to be a frog.
One hopeful note: Let us not forget that both Charles and William have a tremendous support of two strong women in their lives who are both peacemakers. Perhaps William ‘s deep love for Catherine has helped him understand that Charles and Camilla had that love for each other and even though the circumstances that prevented them from being together at the time they tried to go on and create a life with others but their love for each other was so strong for each other they just couldn’t let them work.
There was the insistence from Charles with the divorce that Diana could no longer hold the HRH was a difficult part of the settlement. Because Diana was so hurt by Charles’s insistence William tried to console her by telling her when he was King he would give it back to her. I’m sure that closeness he shard with Diana was part of his resentment toward Charles and it is usually the case when there is a divorce the children tend to side with the parent they are closest to which was Diana.
I’m glad he appears to have let that resentment go because with his future role as Duke of Wales there is so much more he can learn from his father that may not have been accepted if he was still holding on to anger.

If one is betrayed by a close brother especially if the betrayal consist of out right lies, twisted truths & broadcast to the entire world, then it’s a heart wound, deep & wide. The scar is painful, ugly & constant. Who can trust someone that did that? They can never have their guard down never be a ease , comfortable or genuine around them again. It’s so very sad. I know that family members sometimes fall out after a death because the deceased person was the glue holding them all together. The talk here is that, as a child, H used to have screaming fits that only William could calm. I suspect William had to grow up quickly, to be his mother’s confidante and to be a strong support to H. That is; Charles (before he he met Diana) was in love with Camilla... Harry is acting like a spiteful angry Jealous child, he married a woman who will play on his problems, and make them worse instead of teaching forgiveness she teaches revenge, that's what the Oprah interview was about, her getting revenge on Harry's family, William is Maturing wonderfully and has Catherine support, he will make a wonderful Duke of wales and a wonderful King. I personally think Charles is a weak man and he will be a weak king, I never liked him or Camilla, and although William may have forgiven his Father he has not forgotten how he treated Diana, they were married a few short months before he cheated on her, and Camilla was also married, you cannot condone a man cheating on the woman who is carrying his child and that child was William
I have a certain sympathy for Charles. I believe Philip exerted enormous pressure on him to marry and produce an heir. Isn’t he supposed to have said “the things I do for England”? All the while he was locked into a hopeless love affair with a woman who was married and also a Catholic.

William is choosing to get better, Harry is choosing to get bitter... You can see clearly the difference in character. William is leading, learning, growing, maturing, getting stronger. Harry on the other hand, well obviously just pathetic, looking weak, petty, immature, shrinking from popularity. Only others can elevate you, when you elevate yourself by attempting to diminish others you destroy yourself!
I don't think Prince William is worried about what you think about his comments on issues he cares about!

I can’t help but wonder if part of the purpose of the speech was to frame some of the changes that happened directly as a result of the membership in the EU. Those years dramatically increased the number of immigrants and also the racial mix of the UK.
I think this portrait is fabulous, Catherine’s beauty has been captured to perfection. Her chosen dress is ideal for a painting because of how the light and dark and shine plays off each other. I think Williams face looks a bit odd I don’t think captures the essence of William. Williams face looks kind of flat. But on the whole it’s beautiful.
I agree with you, Julie. The portrait is lovely, but there is something not quite right about how William's face is portrayed. I don't think the proportions are quite right. Still, it's a beautiful portrait.

They will work together as a team, supporting each other and there is strength in that. There is talk of Charles wanting to bring Harry back into the RF - I really hope this does not happen. I think it would be a big mistake and a slap in the face to those who pulled together to keep the monarchy going when he abandoned everyone.
