Dude thank you. Fixed my TV today with my wife. Not only did it save us hundreds/thousands of dollars but it was a fun project with my bride. Great channel keep it coming!
This was awesome!! Video was very thorough and I managed to fix my TV with zero experience and it’s working great! Thank you for saving me some big money!!!
I replaced my LED strips with a set I bought off of Amazon for $22. I want to give a shoutout to BigDog, I couldn’t have done it without your video! nothin but praise for your help, let the haters hate!!
You have to commend technicians who offer thier skills openly.l to the public. Shame on the those who detract from this man's effort by throwing pot shots in the form of ridicule - which begs the question.. Why would those people who claim to be technicians need to watch if they know it all??
Hey man i appreciate you for the help that you provide and time that you give to help others. If the internet didn't exist it wouldn't be possible for people to learn as easily without it.
Thank you BigDog! I replaced my led lights successfully and my tv is back to looking and working perfect! Fantastic video, great step by step breakdown. Don’t listen to the haters. You shared so much information that some of the smooth brained individuals can’t handle it. Not only did you help me save $750, you saved a tv from going to the landfill.
You are a great teacher. I wish there were more like you when I was in electronics school. You are very thorough in explaining the processes and how to prevent damage to the equipment that you are working on. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your expertise! This enabled me to do this exact repair (same model and version). I really appreciate that you are willing to teach those of us who are wanting to do our own repairs.👍
I have been on TH-cam since it started. I have never seen an instructor as thorough as you, and your an excellent videographer to boot! That's why I Subscribed and Liked.
Excellent work. I have over 20 years in TV repairs and still repairing TVs to date. I enjoy your videos while still learning new things. Thanks again brother.
Thanks so much for your content. Someone just gave me a 55 inch Samsung , the same TV with the same problem. I'm so glad that I found you. I just have to order the tools and led lights and I will be back for the step by step repair. Don't stop. Ppl like me ( single female teacher, no money) need ppl like you. 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks a lot. I am a photocopier tech so I am used to pulling apart all sorts of machines. But when I got the back cover off my TV I will admit I was stumped. Your instructions are very clear and well paced. I had your video going on my phone while I worked on my tv and I felt that I had someone in the room with me helping me out. I almost wish I had another tv break so I can do it again.
Watched your video today and it enabled me to fix my own TV. I'm pretty good with my hands but I'm a mechanic by trade and without your tips and step by step process of taking apart the TV I would of been fishing in the dark. Ignore the haters and keep doing you man. Good job.
41:14 I agree. I'm a factory trained technician turned degreed engineer (almost complete with my PhD) yet I work with and continually learn from as well as help ALL types of technicians and engineers, regardless of experience and/or education. Those haters appear to be typing just to hear themselves talk. You're a good person. Keep up the good work.
I really want to thank you for every video you have made, because I have started a small home base business rebuilding TVs from home, that I pickup from off the street,I am 65 years old ,recovering from Prostate cancer and living on SSI in New York City, Big dog keep on doing what you do ,because your videos and skills are needed by people like myself and others. Thank You
Brother Man it is no joke to not only do this kind of work well, but film it and be instructive too is a mighty blessing. Thank you for sharing with folks. Your work is appreciated.
I absolutely enjoy your content, you've helped me fix many tv's for my friends and family...myself included. The way you explain things is easy to understand without all the technical lingo that would make people shy away from even trying. You've helped progress Into learning how to repair and I appreciate what you do, thank you!! Keep doin you BigDog!!
Thank you for the very informative video. Just finished my TV today.. The only think I think you and all the other electronics repair guys should mention is a warning about the capacitors.
Dude I learned allot from watching you, don’t get upset for what idiots say, there’s always someone who will come out with negative comments, I’m an Army combat Veteran in California and I stay away from negativity, because I too can loose my temper, you’re a blessed man
Great video! Not many people are as thorough and informative walking viewers through each step ....I actually enjoyed the education and knowledge shared is priceless....Thank you very much! You helped me repair a tv that my family will now enjoy but better yet I can now understand and possibly repair other TV in future instead of throwing the TV away. Thank you for your time and for helping us.
Man they brought the hood outta my man right quick.. Don't let the trolls wreck ya cool my bro. As a black television tech on TH-cam you make me proud. We need more like you.
as you may know democracy is under attack. The freedom of information is key to the success of the democracy. you spread knowledge and information. You have become a target. god bless and keep up the fight! your videos are hot fire my man. I almost watched 35min until I even realized that the video was 1:10 long lol. smooth.
Bruh, you are a straight OG at this. I've looked far and wide for anything similar before I found your channel, and hey, don't let any of those haters get you wound bro. You're awesome at what you do, I learned a ton by watching you work and loved the commentary. I repair and upcycle electronics just to save them from the landfill and to help people, and you wouldn't believe how many TVs I've had donated to me since the local news in SLC ran a story on me. I'll give you 3 guesses on what the most common brand donated is. 😂 Now that I've found your channel and I'm stoked to be able to repair a lot of them quickly and efficiently, sell or give them away, and save people a lot of headaches and money. Thanks a ton for your work, you're a humble man but you have bragging rights for days. I've been an electrical engineer for 2 decades, and you know there's an enormous gap between the guys at NASA and the like, and those who actually take the time to reverse engineer, dissect, repair, and service electronics. In my experience, they're lost as hell at this kinda thing, and pretty terrible at it. Quick question for you my dude, do you have a good resource for finding replacement parts and/or service manuals? If you don't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it greatly. I have a UN75JU6500 v.TD01 that was donated. I have the same problem with it as this one, and am having a hard time finding the LED strips. I'm giving it away to a family next door that's living on a disability income, as a surprise. Again, phenomenal video, great pointers, solid work and a big help to many of us. Thank you 👊
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together for all of us to learn from! I appreciate how comprehensive it is so I can actually learn about how this tv works while I’m fixing it (I found one on the side of the road today that is perfect except for the one black side, what a come up 🙏)
Thanks for the power supply checkout portion of this video. I don't have an LED tester, but I DO have a DMM, so this is perfect. I've found many videos for LED strip replacements, but none show how to check out the pwr supply. I have the 50" version of this tv, with one segment not illuminating. The power supply checks out fine, so I now know that I need to replace the LED strips. Haters... ignore them. I'm an EE, with lots of bench experience. I didn't see anything wrong with your troubleshooting & repair process. Keep up the good work.
Best video I have seen about fixing TV's on TH-cam. Best explanation, best tips, best dissembly tutorial, best commentary, overall 10/10. And as you said there will always be haters just don't let them discouraged you, we have right to do whatever we want and however we want. If someone don't agrees or likes your content they should have keep it to themselves or go watch something else! Anyway seeing you teaching us how to fix our TV's gave me strength to try and fix some of my own broken TV's. Thank you so much, I am new to your channel and I am definitely subscribing.
Bigdog, I love your commentary about interacting with customers. You are what I need and I thank you very much for the time you spend helping me. I used to do computer warranty repairs for Dell so I know exactly what you are saying about customers. Thanks, Bro, keep on keepin on.
I have a similar EU version of this TV, an UE55NU7102. It has smaller differences, but the disassembly and edgelight change is the same. Mine was in worse shape, it had like a dozen cracks on the diffusor, and bigger burn-ins. I screwed up and ruined the panel sadly. But I would not have even tried if it wasn't for your great tutorial. It went decently, despite i've never done it before. Thank you for your in-depth video, greetings from Hungary!
Dude, super helpful video! Thank you for taking the time to make this. I wasn't looking forward to repairing mine but this video settled me and made it a whole lot easier. Fortunately my diffuser screen wasn't cracked. The LEDs weren't burned either, it just appears they died out.
Thank you so much for this video. I was able to change the led light on my tv. Spend $30 plus 18 for the suction cups at Lowe"s. Never open a tv in my life. You would be a great teacher. Hello my friend from Palmdale California
Good job brother.l want to ask you a ? Where can I buy the layer close to LED (reflector) bcs the strip burn it.thank you and keep doing what you are doing well done
This video is outstanding! Thank you so much for creating such a thorough walk though of the LED replacement. The close ups provide exception detail. Unfortunately for me, I cracked the screen when installing the outer bezel. It was totally my fault. The screen was overlapping one of the edge guides just enough that it cracked when I applied pressure to snap the bezel in place. I can't stress this enough- double check to make sure the main screen is centered and within the bounds of the edge guides! Do not force it if the outer bezel is not going back on easily.
My brother - i really do appreciate following how you do fault diagnosis - you are really good and i have been watching quite a number of times the methodology you have been applying - your content is always spot on second to none- keep it up.
New to your channel. Thank you for your time explaining things, right down to what to expect from different pins as well as understanding the boards. I look forward to watching more of your existing and future videos. I don't think you'll be running out of work anytime soon, given the poor quality of these TV's. Mine just went after two years. Used the tape method to get it back running but seeing too much green, purple and pink on the left side of my UN58TU7000FXZC, so I'll be going at it again soon and experimenting some more. There is no way I'm buying another TV anytime soon after just two years with this junk. Come to think of it, their fridges are garbage too and their new phones not far from it. But the other choices are no better. Thank you very much for taking the time, this is much appreciated.
There will always be haters. I have watched this vid twice. Once tearing my TV apart, and once putting it back together with new LEDs. My TV is full backlit and working like new because of your vid. Keep it up man, Cheers!
I have no experience with this type of repair, but for kicks I flipped my defuser screen 180 during the reassembly hoping the shading would be gone and it worked. This may not be the case with all defuser screens but it certainly worked for mine. Anyway...thanks again for your vid!
Great instructions, man. I actually felt confident I could try this after watching this video. I had the same exact problem as this TV and fixed it. Unfortunately I crunched some of the the COF films while moving the screen around on the table, so now I have a few vertical lines on my screen. Meh. One thing for viewers to note: when he plugs the tv in to test the lights at 57:12 it might not turn on if the TV was off when unplugged. That's how mine went.
I love your overall attitude bro. What got you into repairing TV's? My youngest son just gave me this exact TV and I am so looking forward to troubleshooting and repairing it. I worked for Time Warner for over 22yrs. before my first lumbar fusion back on 2005, had my last one in 2020. You give me a voltage meter and a decent set of tools and I can fix it. If not, then the damn thing is BROKE. You keep up the excellent work and us old timers will show these youngsters how it gets done!!!!!
Thanks to your video and tips I've just successfully replaced both LED strips in a similar model. I watched quite few videos but I must say mate yours was the best. A really straight forward and informative video....right up to you started swearing! Sorry mate, but the foul language spoilt it for me. You make a really good point about negative comments being unnecessary, but do us a favour mate and leave out the swearing! You can make a powerful point and communicate effectively with out the dodgy language. You're a decent engineer, keep up the good work bruv!
Sir,in this world no body repaired led TV's like you had done,in sleeping mode, you are awasome sir,😊 super, very good command in English language, clear English any body can follow your speaking, you are Handsome and brilliant 😊. From India 😊 all the best 👍
I washed your video for first time, and I’m so impressed by the way you teach us and shared all you experience, thanks God good persons like you are here helping people they don’t even know and those actions are to administration are those who think they know everything and write some shit, those people never help any body and don’t have nothing else that tray to bother a good people to help other’s like you, thank bro for your excellent job I’m learning a lot thanks and God bless you and your family.
Thanks man. First time diving in, was a lot easier than I thought. Got to the last part and didn’t see the tabs where the final black screen goes and heard a crunch small scratch in a corner though was a free tv. You rock keep up wisdom.
Thank You so much Big Dogg ur the best and god bless u and fam and a big thanks brother for taking time on doing this type of video cause I been learning a lot from u this is like my 7th Tv I have fix and is so easy just follow ur steps. TV I just did right now is a Samsung UN55NU6900BXZA that I found a week ago and only cost me $20 for the LED strips and 2hrs of labor. Thanks again big Dogg
Thank you so much for the videos. I follow all your steps and I was able to fix my 55” Samsung, working like new again all thanks to your video and 49 bucks for the parts. Thank you.
Simply great! Electronics, chess and other difficult things teaches us humbleness. I fixed 39 inch Samsung backlight by changing individual backlight. I learned from youtube, that by warming the strip under with hot air gun you can remove led quite easy. In my experiments 400 degree was quite good temperature. I have to say, that these repairs are more difficult in practice that you could imagine when you watch someone else doing these in youtube. So you have to be very humble, there is so many ways you can burn your pants. 😀😀😀
I have that same problem on my Samsung 55 inch tv. Following your instructions i am hoping to fix my tv because of the approach that you use. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work.
I'm from England and I've watched your videos time and time again bro, I'm gunna fix my Samsung 55" led screen this week from watching your videos. Ain't nobody explains it like you do 💯👊 Mass respect bro 💯👊.
Fixed my telly with all the gratitude in this world for this man BigDog, without your expertise, intelligence and knowledge this WOULD have been a costly repair. I got the TV for free from a relative because the picture was showing dark line then within a week half the screen black and then gone Zero picture. The diffuser board also got a few scorch marks on it as well!!! But never mind that, at the end of the day it's SORTED 👌 !!!!**FIXED**!!!! Thanks again man.👊💯🇬🇧
Don’t let Man Baby’s or Haters get you down I watched your videos I appreciate your work I’m sure there is a lot more people who like your videos and a hell of lot less of those Man Baby’s out here keep up the good work !
Dude you are my hero for this week, this is *exactly* what I needed. What is up with all these Samsung Smart TVs with the faulty LED strips!? My TV wasn't even 3 years old when half my screen suddenly got these 2 vertical shadows from bottom to top one day... but for 25.99 for the replacement LEDs I'm not even worried about it anymore. Thank you for posting sir!
Thank You for explaning this process My Samsung is dark on one side like this one is and I'm going to fix it Myself thanks to You!!!! I appreciate You more than You know!!!
When you remove the screen with the suction cups, you store it off camera... are you laying it down in the same position it sits when installed ( laying face up on a dust free scratch protected tabletop?) Or do you hang it up by the cups? Or standing on edge? Thank you for the thoroughly informative demonstration. Much appreciated
Awesome video I've just repaired my exact same TV only difference I did was not lift the very back sheet out, I just slid it up and changed the LEDs, the white paper was stuck in the middle a little did get a belt off the LEDs tho, one connecter was stuck, next time I discharge the caps! Top tip put it on a blanket on the table and slide it around,
Today I watched your video on how to fix a cracked screen, loved how you took it from using black tape to the one final step (Bang!). I laughed so loud my wife asked me what was going on. Loved it
Hi BigDog, awesome job and video! love the rant in the middle 😂, totally agree with you. My wife took this TV home from work after it developed a darker section on the screen. I took it apart with your help and found several LED's out. Now waiting for replacement strips. We'll see if I can put it back together without breaking anything (already cracket the bezel taking that off... oh well). BTW I'm a big Bears fan and am looking forward to this upcoming season, let's hope the O-line will be and stay healthy and ball out! I hope you are doing well and take care. Thanks Again!
Hello. I am very thankful for your video. I was able to replace the LED strips. I fixed one thing but I think I messed something up. I will try to keep this short. I actually had to take it apart twice. The first time I turned it on and the remote worked but I didn’t have any sound so I took it apart and unhooked and hooked stuff back up. This time the remote doesn’t work and still no sound. I thought I would see if you could maybe tell me what you think happened. I have tested the remote by shining it at my phone camera. I don’t think it is the remote. Could I have messed up sensor thing? I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Very informative and interesting you have a lot of patience i must say.I have the same problem with my Samsung Tv unfortunately i definitely won’t be trying to fix it myself having seen how much work is involved.👏👏
There's always gonna be haters; pay them no mind. I like the way you work, because it's similar to how I work: Meticulous and doing the job correctly. Thanks for the vids
Excellent video, Thank You! Great level of detail. My backlight now works. Unfortunately the screen doesn't :(. I used a double unit suction cup and I think they were too close together. Would recommend two separate section cups (or even 4 with two people). I suspect the small bend on the screen when I pulled it out broke it. C'est la vie.
Hey dude thanks for making this. I was able to take my tv apart, slightly different model but same set up. And even with this model same thing with the cracked screen. I believe that customer had power surge bc similar to mine i have all but like 9 of the bulbs out i got to replace the 2 strips. But i was able to find that out thanks to u. Much appreciated and keep doing what you do.
Thanks for the great info you give...2 questions....so I have a 50 samsung with an all black screen....getting sound...no pic...however when I place a light up to the screen..I can see whats happening in the background.....and 2...I also have a mastertech 55' that jus went all grey on me...not black....i recently decided to fix it...but b4 I go ahead...all Im getting is a light grey screen...nothing else...no matter what I try....any help appreciated...thanks
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I did exactly that at same exact model, but I have one problem, After revering the Diffuser and re assimbly of whole TV, The TV brightness got gradient, means the bottom is so bright and top is dimmer, how can I fix that?
Dude thank you. Fixed my TV today with my wife. Not only did it save us hundreds/thousands of dollars but it was a fun project with my bride. Great channel keep it coming!
This was awesome!! Video was very thorough and I managed to fix my TV with zero experience and it’s working great! Thank you for saving me some big money!!!
You’re doing a brilliant job You don’t need to justify yourself to anyone. You’re a superstar.

I just purchased from Amazon today so I can replace mine. My tv looks just like his 1/2 screen black I hope I can do this

Thank you so much for this video. I was able to change the led light on my tv. Spend $30 plus 18 for the suction cups at Lowe"s. Never open a tv in my life. You would be a great teacher. Hello my friend from Palmdale California
Glad it helped
Damn, i can't believe people don't appreciate your videos. I find them very informative. Please accept my thanks for posting dude!
Good job brother.l want to ask you a ? Where can I buy the layer close to LED (reflector) bcs the strip burn it.thank you and keep doing what you are doing well done
unfortunately its a NO SELL. But you can do some research on it now. Haven't checked in awhile.
Sr ur camera work is on point. I will attempt to do a repair. I do want to be responsible and lessen the e waste on the land fields.
Thank you so much. Now I know how to fix the black spot in my daughters TV. Your instructions were superb, God bless, keep the videos coming.
Glad it helped Stef.
I plugged in the bezel and used the remote! Worked like a charm!
That was a great rant brother!! You look like a very confident repairman. And a great teacher as well! Cheers-Peace!

Thank you BigDog! First video I've seen of yours and had a successful repair the first time following your tutorial. Much appreciated. 👍
u BET!
Thanks for sharing, great detail in your videos. Shout out from Canada. Keep 'em coming eh?😀
Thank you.
Nice work!
Thank you so much for making this video. I have this exact TV with the same issue except the middle part is dark. This helps tremendously!
Big Dog a lot of skill in needed in just taking these sets apart and putting them back together. And you do an excellent job of that.
Thanks, Big Dog. You have helped me to mend my TV. I also like your chatting away to yourself 😅
I have that same problem on my Samsung 55 inch tv. Following your instructions i am hoping to fix my tv because of the approach that you use. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work.
Thanks BigDog, your video was of great help led strips were $34 at Amazon, TV works great.
But never mind that, at the end of the day it's SORTED 👌
!!!!**FIXED**!!!! Thanks again man.👊💯🇬🇧
Don’t let Man Baby’s or Haters get you down I watched your videos I appreciate your work I’m sure there is a lot more people who like your videos and a hell of lot less of those Man Baby’s out here keep up the good work !
Another great video with a glimpse into your life. Who could ask for anything more? We two think alike, stay humble, not angry. Thanks man!
You are the best place to get information in fixing a television. Thanks for the step by step method. method.
AWSEOME Father-Son Project on a Saturday! Thank you so much for your video!
Thank You for explaning this process My Samsung is dark on one side like this one is and I'm going to fix it Myself thanks to You!!!! I appreciate You more than You know!!!
When you remove the screen with the suction cups, you store it off camera... are you laying it down in the same position it sits when installed ( laying face up on a dust free scratch protected tabletop?)
Or do you hang it up by the cups? Or standing on edge?
Thank you for the thoroughly informative demonstration.
Much appreciated
Only repair guy ive seen with my own eyes with common sense. Now I will fix this shit on my tv with confidence.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I had a similar model of Samsung TV with the same issue and was able to repair it for a total cost of about £30.
Keep doing wat u doing big dog f**** the haters im not a technician nor mechanic and I learned a lot watching videos like yours
Is there some where you can purchase a new diffuser screen/plate? I haven’t opened my tv up yet but I suspect that may be the problem.
Awesome video I've just repaired my exact same TV only difference I did was not lift the very back sheet out, I just slid it up and changed the LEDs, the white paper was stuck in the middle a little did get a belt off the LEDs tho, one connecter was stuck, next time I discharge the caps! Top tip put it on a blanket on the table and slide it around,
You do a great job and I really liked your video.... Ignore those assholes and keep on keeping on my brother! You the TV man!!! 😃
Thank you so much for making these videos! If it wasn't for you, I would be at Best Buy right now. Please keep making these.
Thanks big dog for your honesty we all have a past thank you for your service from across the pond God bless
it was a great and very informative video. I would like to know that how many led strips go on 82 inches Samsung TV ?
Thank you very much for sharing your talent. Really appreciate it. Keep up the good works and pay no mind to the heaters. 🙏🏾👍🏾
Thank you for your contribution. Because of this video, it helps me save some money. Kudos, I like your style of explanation and instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
Brother you doing a hell of a job and you save me a lot of confusing and time
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I did exactly that at same exact model, but I have one problem, After revering the Diffuser and re assimbly of whole TV, The TV brightness got gradient, means the bottom is so bright and top is dimmer, how can I fix that?
I tried that, you have to put the diffuser back to original position because of the light path inside the diffuser. Thanks for watching!
