The Game Sack videos are so addictive. You guys just put all the best titles I have never heard of in one streamlined video. You are doing the whole gaming community a MASSIVE service with these and we thank you for your hard work! Also, it was cool meeting you guys at Retropalooza last year. :D

My personal favorite SUNSOFT game is Journey to Silius. Heck, it would be even better if it was still a Terminator game, I mean have you seen Mindscape and LJN's video game adaptation of Terminator? remember in the film when Kyle Reese kept falling through the floor because he didn't land dead center? I sure the heck don't!!!
LOL at the rare games sitting next to the hammers and files. Classic to just not even mention it. People need to chill, so great subtle reference to that.
Holy crap! I was one of the beta testers for Project S-11! Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for SOMEONE to talk about this game! Thanks guys! You just made my evening!
David White Actually, I tested for about, what? A few hours on stage 1? Apparently, that's enough to get me a credit on this game. :-P We all worked on this game in our homes, so I tested it at my place to make sure there no bugs on the final build of stage 1 while everyone else did their thing. I always thought this game was graphically impressive for what the GBC could do, and the flamethrower was actually pretty unique as a weapon. A good game, when all is said and done!
The music to most of these Sunsoft games are pretty awesome. Some I never heard of before; now makes me want to listen to them more so. Some of these games are worth picking up just for the music alone. Then again that's just me.
David White I might be the only one but before mp3's or any digital recorder, I used to record music from games on my walkman to play on my piano and for leisure. Especially rented. We had it rough but still managed. Kids today have it too easy now. I think I still might have a few cassettes with some recordings.
Albert Odyssey, Legend Of Eldean. This game warmed my heart in my childhood. Only gripes: 1) TOO MANY FRIGGING RANDOM BATTLES 2) Past the 2nd half, it can be classified as "incomplete" (Lot of unused assets/land/potential quests) Other than that, Sunsoft is historic.
Perhaps someone has already mentioned this, but all the things that made the US version of Fester's Quest so bad was fixed in the EU version. Bullets pass through walls, most enemies aren't so much of a burden to defeat and with the higher gun levels the multiplying enemies dies with one shot! So anyone who really wants to love this game, or are a major Addams Family fan, get the EU version! I got it the same day as my NES and it's the one I've played the most 'til this day on that machine. ;)
***** For us who spent our childhood with the 50 Hz PAL games the 60 Hz versions of those games are the 'unfortunate' ones - the music is too fast, for example. :)
My best friend in high school and I played through both Blaster Master and Batman together. Batman was definitely a tough nut to crack, but the journey (while occasionally frustrating) was generally satisfying... and, yes, that music is awesome. Blaster Master was pretty fun, too, although I'm not quite as enamored with the game as many others are. I've never tried Journey to Silius or Gremlins 2 before, but both are on my watch list to add to my NES library... and now I really want to find the Genesis version of Batman after Joe's positive look at it. I'm a little surprised that the Sunsoft Looney Tunes games didn't get a mention here... although opinions of these games are generally unfavorable. Death Valley Rally, Rabbit Rampage, The Marvin Missions, and Taz-Mania are all in my library (as I'm a big Looney Tunes fan). Sadly, none of the games are real standouts. They look good or even great, and they sound good, too... but the gameplay for each never really impresses. Taz-Mania gets the most play from me, mainly because of its simplicity and its humorous Taz antics. That said, you covered a TON of Sunsoft games in nearly 40 minutes! I'm glad I stayed up late (3:30am here) to catch this episode. Thanks again for what you do!
I've only recently gotten into watching these videos, but I have to say, I really appreciate the production value you guys put into them. I love it when people go the extra mile when making videos about games.
Anyone who grew up in the NES era loved at least one SunSoft game. If nothing, for the amazing music (no one even cared that Batman featured none of the Danny Elfman theme). I remember getting Gremlins 2 and Rescue Rangers for Christmas in 1990. I immediately loved the Chip and Dale game, but I also beat it immediately. Good game, but I eventually fell in love with the challenge of Gremlins 2. So fun. Speaking of the former, you guys should absolutely do old school Capcom games next. Sorry, Joe. I know that's more of a Nintendo theme. But it kicks ass.
You're right about Batman. I remember hearing zero complaints about it not having movie music or not following the movie closely, people just loved the game for what it was and that's awesome.
Game Sack Blaster Master was my first Sunsoft game for the NES and I have been a fan of all their NES counterparts ever since. Great video have you guys ever considered doing one on new NES homebrew games like "Larry and the Long Look For a Luscious Lover" and "Mad Wizard". I would be very interested in seeing your opinions on new games still being produced for retro consoles.
You guys just blew my mind. I remembered playing Robowarrior on my NES when I was around 4 or 5 but could never remember the name of it until you mentioned it in Blaster Master Boy. I've been trying to figure it out for years. You guys are my heroes! I loved the game when I was younger. I'm watching a video of it right now and the music is pretty good. I'm gonna have to find a copy of it now :)
The PSA at the end changed my life completely. Thank you, Game Sack! :D Really though, you guys are what make my every other Saturday night worth staying up late for since you guys make one of the best retro game-related shows on TH-cam. I hope you guys keep up the great work and do more episodes about developers/publishers that did amazing 8 and 16-bit games, but went under, got bought out by another company, or are still around but aren't as great today as they were back then (I'm looking at you, Capcom and Konami). :)
When it comes to how to fly in Zero, I think you have to hold the dive for a long time, and do the swoop up thingy after the lengthened dive. I think it's meant to be Zero gathering enough speed to fly high enough.
Even in Europe, almost nobody has ever heard of Ufouria. In fact, your Episode marks only the second time that I've ever heard someone mention this game. I bought that game as a kid on a flea market, solely based on its cover design, and it turned out being my favorite game on the NES.
Great episode, love Sunsoft games. Hard, but fair, with awesome music and gameplay. How to fly in Zero: Kamikaze squirell - First - you jump and then push A button - Zero will fly\dash straight down (you can steer with D-pad). Second - push A button TWICE (on the first push he will fly horizontal, on the second upwards) when you are almost fall and Zero will do an ark and fly straight upward. But he will fly up the same distance he fly down, so the lower you fall, the better)
With the first play i also got stuck there. But one of "Demo" helped me out. By the way you need to master this skill because you'll need it in further levels, so thain a little
***** I'd agree with this, as I'm a huge fan of Atlus, and in it's nature is one of the publishers best known for creating obscure gems. I wonder though, as most games shown in Game Sack videos tell a tale of Joe, and Dave's specific taste in games if Atlus would offer enough games they'd enjoy? I'd be interested in finding out ;)
Grimsie42 Well maybe not a lot of the current stuff Atlus does. I know I haven't played any of the Persona series, Etrian series or even the Shin Megami series. I have played games like Catherine, Dragon's Crown, Odin Sphere and Trauma Center. So yeah that's less then half of what they offer. :(
Thank you for this episode, guys! It's crazy how us American gamers technically got shafted on some of their greatest game releases since we still got 90% of them. They were almost infallible in the NES days. So many quality games. I still find myself humming those tunes at work to this day! Thank you, Naoki Kodaka! Strangely, there was a time when I was obsessed with Waku Waku 7. It was a great diversion to all of the Street Fighter I was playing at the time. My favorite part: Bonus-kun. This was a great parody of Ryu from SF- from the look, special moves, and theme song. I had no idea that Sunsoft was back on life support after all this time! I thought they were absorbed by Squaresoft never to be seen again. Hopefully Victor Ireland and company can re-release some hard to find gems or make more quality remakes in the future.
You guys have the best T-Shirts. Also, I love game sack! Thank you for making these, I really appreciate how informative you guys are and I don't even hate Dave for being such a Nintendo fanboy (everyone knows that Genesis does what NintenDont)
Ufouria/Hebereke spawned a series of spin-off games, none of which retained the Metroid-style gameplay, but some are pretty fun anyway. I like the two puzzle games, Hebereke's Popoon (which is similar to Puyo Puyo but different enough to be worth playing) and Hebereke's Popoitto (similar to Dr .Mario). Both of those got released in Europe (not NA).
Thanks guys for your awesome work on this show. I think it's definitely the most informative and enjoyable gaming show on youtube. Keep up the great work!
Zero the Kamikaze has one of my favorite soundtracks on the SNES, I am really surprised that you guys don't like it. IT has a massive 80s vibe going on.
You have no idea how long I have been trying to find Robo Warrior. I used to play it when I was a kid, but I couldn't remember the name. Thank you so much! Awesome video as always.
There's actually a very good reason why drops of water damages you in most European-developed games. In Europe, water is much more acidic than everywhere else in the world, so drops of water are a very real danger there. In fact, drops of water are the third leading killer of Europeans, behind soccer riots and Speedo mishaps.
Once again, I was hoping you guys would cover a game, but didn't, and that game was Super Spy Hunter! This game was wholly developed by Sunsoft, released in Japan as Battle Formula and brought to the US as Super Spy Hunter with the license that Sunsoft had from the original Spy Hunter port. It also had incredible music like all Sunsoft games... And you guys mentioned many times that Sunsoft games had incredible music, but never gave a proper shout out to Naoki Kodaka, who was responsible for those sweet, sweet tunes...I will be doing an episode of Retro Game Sound Test on the amazing compositions of Naoki Kodaka, because his music just rocks! Great episode, as always, guys!
Loved the show guys. I had no idea the US Turbo Grafix CD (ugly looking thing too) was so cumbersome to actually use . Why on earth is it like that? My PC Engine Duo R is so simple. Switch it on and err,it plays. Did you guys know that the Sunsoft Hebereki series is actually quite big? There's a few Saturn titles as well as SFC titles. One of my favorites is Hebereki No Popun. It's a bean puzzle game like Puyo Puyo but with some mad techno music.
Retro Core Well Joe forgot to mention, that the TV also needs to be turned on, and the console needs to be plugged into a socket, so he made it seem more easy, than it actually was.
The music for "Project S-11" was co-composed by Jonne Valtonen. He was known as Purple Motion as part of the PC Demo scene group Future Crew back in the '90s.
Incidently, I have the complete opposite of the opinion of the guy down there saying not to re-mention games. I say keep re-mentioning them. This is nostalgia. It's not like people are coming here for current events. And since there are only SO many retro games in existence... Repetition is expected.
Ahh, Journey to Silius! Music-wise it was and still is my favorite game; all the tunes are amazing, from beginning to end. I even recorded it to a casette so that I could listen to it whenever I liked. I'm glad and surprised to hear Sunsoft are still around. Thanks for a neat episode!
So I was like: Ok,I guess that Im going to play FF9 again after 2 years of not playing it,but first, lets see whats new on Youtu...OMG A NEW EPISODE OF GAMESACK,FUCK FF9,THIS IS THE REAL DEAL.
Wonderful video guys! Blaster Master (the NES version) is still one of my all-time favorites so it was great to see you talk about that game (and the series) in such detail. You covered so many games as well and even touched on a few that I hadn't heard of before! The only game that you didn't mention that I feel deserves some love is Super Spy Hunter. While the original arcade classic is a solid game, SSH is by far the better game IMHO. It features enjoyable stages, an excellent challenge, and *outstanding* music of course! I highly recommend that one if you haven't played it. Otherwise though, thanks for covering pretty much all things Sunsoft! ;)
I'm kinda sad you guys didn't cover Super Spy Hunter for NES. It's a spin off that's like a vertical shmup, but a vehicle on a really long freeway. Great music in it again, and pretty fast gameplay.
ShogunGin0 I almost talked about that one. I played it and I really really sucked at it. I died constantly so it wouldn't have made for good coverage. I must practice more.
David White Remember Dave: turning on your NES lets you practice even better... Just push the left button :D cdn4.fashionablygeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/belt4.jpeg?22a92a
Not knowing a fucking thing comes to mind. I mean..... Just throwing that out there. Googling shit these days is a great tool! Because not knowing shit!!?? Is a fucking hassle! LMAO
Just discovered your guy's channel last week during some massive downtime. Watched a bunch of your videos and they've all been great. Then it hit me, ohhh it's the guys from the video game years!
*Are YOU tired of good content and all that fancy smancy Jazz ?* Well come down to my wonderful Channel, and experience *Mediocrity* at it's finest ! Thank you all.
The picture quality for the NES games (at least by Joe) is amazing, or at least I think it's improved since last times. Are you using some sort of RGB to HDMI output or something?
Recording with RGB, yes. Dave recorded his NES games with s-video (which is still damn good) as it will be a while before we can afford to set him up to be able to record RGB as well.
It's not really that Sunsoft hasn't made any games since 2010, it's that you guys just haven't seen them. There is Ikki on the PS3, Shanghai 3D on the 3DS. Beyond that though, they've been doing smartphone stuff since then. They have a horror series or two plus that "Way to travel the world of OZ" (オズの国の歩き方) game plus a few others. Not exactly spectacular for console gamers but they are definitely still making stuff.
Very interesting. Do you happen to know what happened to Naoki Kodaka-san? He was a main composer for Sunsoft, but pretty much stopped composing music around the early 2000's. I figured he just retired from the business, but he seems like a quiet person.
Another great episode! I actually never really knew Sunsoft by name as a kid, as the only games I played from them were Gremlins 2 on NES and Batman on Genesis (both of which I loved, though!), but I've since played a few others, and have really come to appreciate them as a company. Ufouria, in particular, was a real surprise for me, as I'm a Metroidvania fanatic and that is one DAMNED FINE Metroidvania; one of the best on the NES, right up there with Goonies II and Legacy of the Wizard. And speaking of Metroidvanias, have you guys considered doing an "indie games" episode? I know you usually tend to focus on older games, but I've been consistently impressed by how much good stuff is being released by indie developers these days. Even just in recent memory, some of my favorite games include La-Mulana, Unepic, Freedom Planet, Shovel Knight, Crypt of the NecroDancer, Rochard, Hydra Castle Labyrinth, Corpse Party (SHAMELESS PLUG), Saira, the Knytt games, and Within a Deep Forest, almost all of which are 2D platformers or Metroidvanias that remind me of the kind of awesome stuff I played as a kid -- and a lot of recently released or upcoming indie games are looking great too, like Xeodrifter, Axiom Verge, Timespinner, Red Goddess, La-Mulana 2 and NightCry. It sometimes feels like while AAA developers are focusing on pushing hardware limits, indie developers are keeping that old-school gaming charm alive, and it would be really cool to highlight some of the best indie titles out there for people who've played all the old stuff and are looking for something new that gives them that same feeling. The fact that three of the titles in that above list were all inspired by Knightmare II: The Maze of Galious (those being La-Mulana, Unepic and Hydra Castle Labyrinth) also got me really curious about the Knightmare series, which in turn got me really interested in MSX games (particularly the vast library of Konami titles released on the system) -- and that's another topic I don't think you guys have done yet. I mean, you've covered the X68000, so I imagine you must own at least one of the far less obscure MSX or MSX2 computer systems between the two of you, so how about it? Give us an MSX episode! I'd love to hear your take on some of its classics like the Knightmare titles, the MSX version of Castlevania, Space Manbow, Treasure of Usas, etc. Sorry for the tangents, but I figured you guys wouldn't mind a couple requests -- and they all come from a place of enthusiasm, not entitlement, so I hope you don't take any offense! Looking forward to the next episode.
Wyrdwad Thank You. Ufouria was a nice surprise for me also it's such a fun game. We've definitely talked about doing an episode on Indie games. I own a handful of them like Shovel Knight, which I absolutely love. Also FEZ is another one that I really enjoyed. I haven't played any of the other ones on your list but will need to play more once we decide to do Indie games. Someone was nice enough to loan us the X68000 and a ton of games. I'm hoping the same guy has an MSX because that would be a system I would like to cover with all the Konami goodness it has. Only time will tell.
If you ever do get around to playing more indie games, I can't recommend La-Mulana, Freedom Planet and Unepic enough. La-Mulana is incredibly engaging and absolutely peppered with little details that make you really feel like an archaeologist exploring the most important ruins in human history, Freedom Planet somehow manages to be BETTER than even the old-school Sonic games, and Unepic has an unlikable protagonist and a borderline stupid story but absolutely BEAUTIFUL gameplay with lots of choices on how to approach different situations and bosses (and that's what matters most!). Those three all rank among my favorite games of all time at this point, which is not an easy list to get on, and I think you guys would really love them as well -- they seem like they'd be right up your alley.
You guys provide a great amount of production value in your videos! Almost every time I watch I find out about a new game to check out. Gonna look up Albert Odyssey after this. Wish there was more to watch :)
Loved it. Your episodes have been exceptionally good over the past few months (and hell, they were incredible as it was), my favourite show on YT! Really dig the beard Dave, it's a good look. :-)
This is the last straw. You make a Sunsoft video and DONT include my favorite game Gremlins 2! And you call yourself gamers? How dare you not include a game I like!!! Unsubbed for good this time! Wait.....I should have watched the whole video before beginning to write my comment. RESUBBED!
Game Sack lol, you dont like your remakes/remixes eh! You must have heightened senses, I thought Blaster Master was Identical, same with the Ducktales remaster, but you can tell if there's a frame of animation different!
Bucky Monk Ducktales remastered is a quality game, but the added story telling segments really drag the game's pacing down and weren't necessary. Still worth a purchase though for sure!
Andrew Birbeck Xbox is retro now, and they could do something fresh and cover the obscure side of it like they always do. Or they could keep doing much less mainstream consoles and games either works for me.
The on-screen chemistry between you two in this episode was palpable. Reminded me of the early days. "Mega power" and "no one cares". Great quotes. Journey to Silius is a top 10 for me for the NES. The music is 2nd to none on the system, with maybe the exception of MM2. Cheers.
I just came across your channel off the Game Chasers. You guys look really old, the guy on the left looks like a much uglier version of Ron Perlman & the one of the right looks like a older version of Tony Parker but the content of the episode is good though.
Yay! Thanks Joe for acknowledging the Brit pronunciation of Aluminium! You really didn't have to do that, but your consideration of other audiences is what makes you awesome! Stay safe Dave and Joe!
Blaster master is my favorite. When was 8, my mom went to the store one Saturday morning and brought back blaster master. She heard a guy at work talking about it and thought I would like it. Unexpected games are always great, but unexpected great games might be one of the best things in the world!
I remember one single particular arcade in Mexico had a Spanish-translated copy of Waku Waku 7. I used to love that game! The story has something to do with getting some macguffin that grants the obtainer one wish, so everyone's fighting to get it. My favorite character was the Politank Z, a sort of police battle tank manned by a small man and anthropomorphic dog. When you finally got the macguffin and this magical fairy is all 'hey what's your one wish?' the dog has the misfortune of absentmindedly wishing someone would help him clean their dirty tank off after all that fighting and ends up blowing their wish and gets angrily headbutted by his partner. It was pretty cute.
Again, great content guys. I really like these publisher episodes. My favorite Sunsoft games were covered in this episode. Blaster Master (NES) is one my favorites, just the mixture of great gameplay and incredible music. Same can be said for Batman(NES/Genesis) and Journey to Silius, again the music is so memorable. I got some enjoyment out of Fester's Quest. More publisher episodes Game Sack! \,,/
I know it's most likely done in a facetious manner, but giving the benefit of the doubt, I actually appreciate correcting for uk dialect. Nice change to see an American youtuber acknowledging any one matters outside the US. Great work all round.
Dave, in the Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel game you should have a Super Dive button, that makes you fall with strenght into the ground when you press it while jumping. Use it when you reach those "Super Dive Test" banners, then jump, do a Super Dive, and press the button again to make Zero turn to the sides, then press it again to make him fly upwards. These "Super Dive Tests" expectos you to make some kind of "U" turn on the mid air -to call it/explain it somehow xD- to "fly up". There's also some "Flic Flac Tests" where you must perform some forward flips. On Genesis the Super Dive and Flic Flac button was the same, so I guess it should be the same in SNES. Great show, keep up the great work guys!
Finally, they talking about my favorite videogame company. My favorite Sunsoft games are every Looney Tunes games (especially Looney Tunes Basketball), Daze Before Christmas and especially as the cherry on the cake or the cookie on the ice cream, Aero the Acro-Bat
The gravity over here in Europe is a lot stronger. When it rains, we all have to hide in reinforced shelters. The water drops in Blaster Master 2 are a perfect example of realism.
This is true. Especially sucks in the UK cus it's always raining! Argh!
That's why the government issue those metal umbrellas. They might be heavy as hell, but it's better than getting your neck snapped by a light shower.

Well Nintendo and Sonic also did a lot of shitty games. Most CoD are not bad - they are simply soulless games created on the drawing board ... and everyone is the exactly same ... every year ... just like Madden. Despite of being average, they are ok.
I was the graphic artist for Project S-11. Thanks for making this video!
Really? That's awesome! Was it hard to do that considering the limitations of the GBC?
David White It had a 2mhz Z80 processor, 32kb of ram, and a bunch of sprites. We were all in our early 20s, didn't know much about game design :) Our game ran 60fps as most other shoot'em'ups ran at 30, you'll have to thank our programmer Stephane for his mad assembly skillz.

Not really anymore. They should just stop making games at this point
Harvest moons pretty good

I don't even know how I got here, but I like it! Really well produced!
Glad you found us and we hope you stay.
The music to most of these Sunsoft games are pretty awesome. Some I never heard of before; now makes me want to listen to them more so. Some of these games are worth picking up just for the music alone. Then again that's just me.

Albert Odyssey, Legend Of Eldean.
This game warmed my heart in my childhood.
Only gripes:

My best friend in high school and I played through both Blaster Master and Batman together. Batman was definitely a tough nut to crack, but the journey (while occasionally frustrating) was generally satisfying... and, yes, that music is awesome.
Batman, Blaster Master, Journey to Silius... Sunsoft was up there with Capcom and Konami for me in the NES days.
Pirates of the Dark Water is a rather good brawler for the SNES with some good music too - by Sunsoft of course!
I'm gonna have to find a copy of it now :)
xKetherx Sweet! You find that copy and play it. Nothing feels as good as reliving some great memories.
Nothing better to start my Sunday than a new episode of Game Sack.
you guys really are so consistently awesome. Thanks for the years of great content and I look forward to more :)
Thank You!
The PSA at the end changed my life completely. Thank you, Game Sack! :D
Really though, you guys are what make my every other Saturday night worth staying up late for since you guys make one of the best retro game-related shows on TH-cam. I hope you guys keep up the great work and do more episodes about developers/publishers that did amazing 8 and 16-bit games, but went under, got bought out by another company, or are still around but aren't as great today as they were back then (I'm looking at you, Capcom and Konami). :)
zrobeast Thanks and yes Capcom and Konami are on our radars. Don't know how soon we will get to them though.
Someone already mentioned it, but that NES footage looks really incredible. Thank you for the quality episode. I'm just trying to savor it.
Everytime I stay up out of the the blue, a new episode is posted.
I need to start staying up more often.
When it comes to how to fly in Zero, I think you have to hold the dive for a long time, and do the swoop up thingy after the lengthened dive. I think it's meant to be Zero gathering enough speed to fly high enough.
"Each stage's assistant manager" lol I love you guys thanks for these company specific videos. Also I think Dave is winning the beard competition.
Even in Europe, almost nobody has ever heard of Ufouria. In fact, your Episode marks only the second time that I've ever heard someone mention this game. I bought that game as a kid on a flea market, solely based on its cover design, and it turned out being my favorite game on the NES.
vyse19861 Yeah it's an amazing game that not many people know about. I'm actually surprised its on the virtual console.
Чешир Котовский Thank You! I couldn't figure that out.
With the first play i also got stuck there. But one of "Demo" helped me out. By the way you need to master this skill because you'll need it in further levels, so thain a little
Nice video guys, I'm really digging these publisher episodes :)
Thanks Grimsie!
David White
How did you like Dragons Crown Dave? I picked that one up as few months back and its in line to be played now.
David White
well then get to work on playing more atlus games so you guys can pump out another great video!!!
ps dragons crown is AMAZING!!
The new bi weekly Gamesack episode is always my favorite part of Saturday nights.
The PAL version of Fester's Quest let you shoot through walls. This solves the problem in the small corridors.
Batman and Gremlins 2 are my favorites.
My favorite part:
Bonus-kun.
Thank you for making these, I really appreciate how informative you guys are and I don't even hate Dave for being such a Nintendo fanboy (everyone knows that Genesis does what NintenDont)
garou1911 Thanks for putting up with my Nintendo addiction.
Naoki Kodaka is one of my all-time favorite composers. It's a shame that he hardly seems to get the recognition that others do.
Still kicking myself for choosing Noah's Ark (PAL version of course) over Ufouria!
For some, Sunday's are about Walking Dead. For me, it's GAME SACK!!!
Thanks once again for another awesome episode!
Zero the Kamikaze has one of my favorite soundtracks on the SNES, I am really surprised that you guys don't like it. IT has a massive 80s vibe going on.
I can listen to the Forest 1 theme forever.
***** LoL, that's very interesting.
Too much work for a very lame joke, u get 👎🏼👎🏼 for that shit
Retro Core
Well Joe forgot to mention, that the TV also needs to be turned on, and the console needs to be plugged into a socket, so he made it seem more easy, than it actually was.
Frank Schneider
haha, so true.
Please never stop doing those dumb skit things at the end. I love them so much.
Sunsoft makes me Sunhard
TMI
Kalilu Jawara
Erection
Damn it Paleo!
My sunpenis is too sunsmall to see standing up looking down
I can't believe im hearing this from you of all people
The music for "Project S-11" was co-composed by Jonne Valtonen.
Lol same feeling here xP
Gamesack is one of the best channels on here. I'll play Xenoblade Chronicles after watching this
I hope you enjoy FF9 again, it is, in my opinion, the best of the franchise.
ff9 is my favorite have fun and try not to let vivis story make you cry lol
I've been marathoning FF9. 44 hours and a whole bunch of level grining later, just got Amarant all the abilities on my items.
Otherwise though, thanks for covering pretty much all things Sunsoft! ;)
So this may be the only tolerable Superman game in existence. I did not know one existed.
The Superman Arcade game from late 80s was probably the best Superman game, that I've seen.
FallicIdol for it's time superman Atari 2600 was fun and good
You are awesome. I was just gonna say I owned superman on my Atari 2600. Right on.
I'm waiting the Treasure episode. Great work guys!
Sun soft is a great company. It's such a shame that they didn't release Mr.Gimmick in the US.
There's not a day that goes by when I don't want more Game Sack. Great stuff as always.
David White
Remember Dave: turning on your NES lets you practice even better... Just push the left button :D cdn4.fashionablygeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/belt4.jpeg?22a92a
+ShogunGino It's a conversion of Spy Hunter by Sega/Bally Midway.
Great news people! Sunsoft is back, and is bringing Gimmick and other games to new platforms!
I'm really excited to try the new things that they're adding to the game.
G.I.Joe taught us that knowing is half the battle, but I ask you, dear GameSack, what is the other half?
Moonbolt I guess killing is the other half. It's only logical.
Then it hit me, ohhh it's the guys from the video game years!
awesome good shit. under 301 club too. subbed.
Yeah? What kind of club and sub? Like Turkey Bacon Club? or just a regular assorted Italian sub?
*Are YOU tired of good content and all that fancy smancy Jazz ?* Well come down to my wonderful Channel,
and experience *Mediocrity* at it's finest ! Thank you all.
what i like best about these guys is the scripted dialog and the awkward pauses. fuckin great stuff guys, LOVE IT.
here's hoping you do a feature on Taito
Sunsoft made some of the best soundtracks of the 8-bit era imo.
Great episode as always guys, keep it up!
Game Sack Very nice. I appreciate the attention to detail and quality. Thanks.
I remember my uncle and cousin used to play fester's quest and leave the console on for days 😂
Seen every episode, first comment, but just want to say i love your videos.
Thanks!
Batman is my favorite NES game! The level design, controls, music, and sound effects are all great. I love the wall jumping!
Matthew J. Boone A quick search reveals that he is teaching music at Daido University in Nagoya now.
xcornmuffinx Thanks!
I guess the episode could've been humongous, but Sunsoft really is a great developer and defining for their time
Another great episode!
David White You know FEZ is just Super Paper Mario with a slightly different 3D switching mechanic.
Wyrdwad
La Mulana sounds fun. I will check it out.
blackblob500
It has that feel to it for sure. I wish the map on that game was easier to read.
You guys provide a great amount of production value in your videos! Almost every time I watch I find out about a new game to check out. Gonna look up Albert Odyssey after this. Wish there was more to watch :)
I've thought about doing a translation/rom hack of one of the Hebereke games for the SNES. Would anyone be interested?
Theres always an audience for everything
Loved it. Your episodes have been exceptionally good over the past few months (and hell, they were incredible as it was), my favourite show on YT! Really dig the beard Dave, it's a good look. :-)
I've beaten Batman on the NES 163 times without losing a life.
I've only done it 131 times and each time I lost two lives.
Wow. I never get a Game Over.
50,000? You got 50,000 on Double Dragon?
I never count score on Batman.
*****
You seem to have a very fulfilled life.
Joe, your attention to detail is phenomenal. Don't think I don't notice those scan-line effects when you zoom in to subjects.
This is the last straw. You make a Sunsoft video and DONT include my favorite game Gremlins 2! And you call yourself gamers? How dare you not include a game I like!!! Unsubbed for good this time! Wait.....I should have watched the whole video before beginning to write my comment. RESUBBED!
REALLLYYYY? Only 24 seconds of coverage slapped on the end? RE-UNSUBBED
The Game Chasers ALRIGHT....
Alright re-subbed because of the homage to old school Gi Joe PSAs
also...milk and nuts
The Game Chasers hey, that`s the way video editin go
For anyone wondering Joe's shirt says 肉まん which is a meat bun.
have you guys considered doing an episode on Intelligent Systems, or are you guys doing videos on companies that are pretty much dead.
No they can still be around. We haven't decided who we'll do next.
Game Sack lol, you dont like your remakes/remixes eh! You must have heightened senses, I thought Blaster Master was Identical, same with the Ducktales remaster, but you can tell if there's a frame of animation different!
Game Sack How about doing an episode on the original xbox?
Cheers.
Dave's wink made me very uncomfortable.
As it should. He is very creepy. I think next time he is over I will call the authorities.
Game Sack
They'll probably only tell you that he is creepy too ;-)
Game Sack They will arrive too late.
David White "they will arrive too late" lol
Josh Kimbrough David White
By the time they arrive "creepy bearded man" will have already made them play Superman 64 and Hotel Mario.
You guys are awesome! Thank you for the nostalgia boost, as always!
Was the Turbo CD really that fiddly to turn on, or is that just a gag?
Yep!
Game Sack I'm surprised it doesn't have a padlock.
Top shelf entertainment as always guys, I'm glad you put out this great quality stuff thank you!
YESSSS. i stayed up for this!! :D
I woke up for this.
Loved this one, I grew up playing those awesome Sunsoft classics. Thanks for sharing, guys, my best regards.
Thank You!
I just came across your channel off the Game Chasers. You guys look really old, the guy on the left looks like a much uglier version of Ron Perlman & the one of the right looks like a older version of Tony Parker but the content of the episode is good though.
delta8t8 I must thank the Game Chasers for sending their most vile fans.
Game Sack They didn't send me as it was actually your idiotic comment that you left that did but nice try.
delta8t8Hey The Game Chasers I now owe you one of mine. Don't you try to take a good one though, that's not fair!
Game Sack lol send the ONE who hated our cameo
Yay! Thanks Joe for acknowledging the Brit pronunciation of Aluminium! You really didn't have to do that, but your consideration of other audiences is what makes you awesome! Stay safe Dave and Joe!
sunsoft?!?! more like FUN-SOFT! AMIRITE?!?!
Loved the final sketch... this and the Game Chaser's one are my favourites from the recent videos. Great work, guys.
It was pretty cute.
thank you game sack. every second sunday is game sack sunday :)
thank you game sack . . . . .you are always NO1 in retro games . . . .please keepup making vidoes
I seriously dont get why you guys are known so little. Your channel is a retro gaming gold mine. Keep up!
Thanks guys for closing off my Saturday night in style.
