You should watch the episode where we don't break eye contact with each other or blink at all for the entire show. That's our sexiest episode. :)
Dave lost the staring contest when he left the show. So Joe wins!!! I could stare into Joe’s dreamy eyes all day long without averting my gaze. Thank you Joe, for staying faithful to us and letting us look into your eyes. 😆 on a serious note, you guys are the best! It always brightens my day a lot when you drop new videos. Thanks for all you do! Also, Dave is SO WRONG about Uniracers. It is kinda boring playing it alone, but if you play against a friend, it is SO MUCH f’ing fun! My brother and I played it a whole lot. I’m sure if I tried it out now, like 20 years later, it would probably suck lol but how dare Dave fog up my nostalgia glasses!
I thought the game gear version was better personally. It had all the charm of the console version but seemed to fit better on a small screen and no voices!
Ristar and Dynamite Headdy, two great games. I never minded the voices in Ristar. Some of the singing levels even have a really otherworldly vibe. Also, the level mechanics design on Ristar deserved at least a mention.
Yeah I agree. I really like the voices, they're super trippy and make me feel like Ive been transported to a bizarre colorful world far across the galaxy. Also, the music is funky as heck. I love the way the "Du-Di-Da!" level's music slowly extends as you complete more parts of the level. Really atmospheric game, one of the best graphical and sound presentations of any game on the Genesis.
Ristar was yet another one of those games that after five minutes I found myself wondering, WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS SOONER?! It's so damned good. >_
My day instantly gets better when I see that you guys put up a new video, it really stabs my monotonous life right in the heart. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
LOL the virtual boys failure was the CEO's fault. The guy wanted to wait till it could be done in color, but the CEO wanted something to fill the gap in between the snes and the n64. Then the CEO blamed the guy and fired him.
There's so many games that never quite made you could do many episodes on it. It's more interesting hearing your impressions of games I'm not familiar with as well. Thanks for another great show!
Nice to see Solar Striker get some attention i enjoy playing through it on occasion and i love the soundtrack to it. I kinda wished Nintendo made a sequel to it.
I never heard of Ristar until I got Mega Drive Collection for PS2. It looked interesting and was by the same people who made Sonic and I really enjoyed it. The arm mechanics are such a great concept, decent music (despite that voice thing) and it was a very gorgeous game with nice colours, especially for a Mega Drive (Genesis) game. Not sure if it's on PSN or XBLA but if it is, go for it. It's a good game.
It was kind of similar with me. In my case, I discovered it through Sonic Mega Collection of all things. Seriously wish they would make him into a franchise.
RichieP1995 They did a good job mentioning Ristar, but damn i'd wish they mention Rocket Knight Adventure, the best Genesis game imho (though i actually love Sonic3&Knuckles as much). I can't believe how so few people know about this game, even if each time this soft is being loved. A fast paced game, with a lot de bosses and inventive gameplay. Each level have its share of new ideas and the second half on the game is simply awesome.
Another awesome episode. High production values as always guys. Instead of getting worse after all these episodes (like many others), you're getting better and better. Inspired episodes, good reviews, informative game selection, nice music and you find time to reply to your fans. As I said, excellent show, totally underated.
Yes, that is correct, and I actually forgot that the game was also released during the time in which Nintendo and Sega were rivals in the gaming business. ;)
Uniracers was REALLY fun once you got the hang of it. I wish sometimes...there was more of a chance given before a review. Not that that much time is devoted before these old games and I'll always be a HUGE fan of the show but I've noticed a couple games that a chance or research into moves or experts playing would change some of the script.
19:38 Actually, Nintendo did make a shooter before 'Solar Striker'. It was an arcade game called 'Radarscope', and it was a huge bomb. After that, Nintendo brought in Shigeru Miyamoto to make a new game with the same hardware. That game was 'Donkey Kong'.
Maybe but nobody is buying those collections to play Ristar lol. I never even heard of this game until I saw some videos on TH-cam. And I had the Sega collection that this is one lol. Just scrolled right by it on my way to play sonic or altered beast haha 🍻
Fantastic work as usual, guys. Incredibly informative and expertly produced. As I've said before, this show is not only my favourite on TH-cam, but one of my favourites period. Nice to see Astal covered, I always wanted to play it because colourful platformers have always appealed to me, but it was never released in Europe :(
you mentioned awesome forgotten games. More forgotten than most people mention. Some games that i played as a child even but forgot, and now remembered because of you. BUT EVEN YOU GUYS who mentioned long forgotten games more forgotten than what most people mention still didnt have ALUNDRA (ps1) on the list. Seriously! Go and check it out. It is basically Legend of Zelda for hardcore people. Long, difficult and very good. It got such good scores and everything. But no one talked about it, then Alundra 2 came out which had nothing to do with Alundra just alittle on the gameplay aspect and wasnt as good. Not bad, but does not live up to the original. Check Alundra out. I first played that game when i was 11, couldnt get past 15% of the game. Then again as 15. 40%. Then 18. 80% and when i turned 20. I took the strength to painstakingly finish the damn game and the hardcore no actual save point last dungeon, holy shit did i feel acomplished.
the happy console gamer recommended you guys and after watching this vid i'm blown away! Your reviewing is very reminiscent to oldschool gamefan magazine reviews! i'm gonna continue to watch your videos and my personal game that time forgot is The Legend of Dragoon an awesome game.
About Wonder Dog, when AVGN covered it in his Sega CD episode all those years ago, the story he made up for it about a pedophile kidnapping the kid made a hell of lot more sense than the actual story :P.
Game Sack Amiga CD32 is not bad , I still use it occasionally, (mostly I use the 500/600) however most of the games are ports from the Amiga 500 with some additional FMV prior the games. Also if my memory serves me well the CD32 didn't hit the U.S market due to some copyright issues commodore had the time. I believe the only NTSC versions were available in Canada which kinda makes them rare in terms ntsc hardware and ntsc games. I would nearly suggest you go for either either an PAL amiga 500 with a gotek drive or hxc floppy emulator (basically launch adf files through sdcard) or a pal cd32 . I'm sure you retro gurus can figure out how to solve the pal to ntsc issues ;) .. As for the Amiga CD32 there is still an active community constantly porting amiga 500/600 games to the cd 32 format enhancing the button layout and so on. Recently they released a 160 in 1 cd as well with all the games they ported to that day. Another thing to keep in mind about the cd32 is that quality isn't the best. Typically they need recapping due to cheap caps they used to cut costs and well the cdrom is known to have issues . that being said both my cd32s still work but they both needed a recapping.
It is great! The game play is addictive, and the patterns on the track are actually a clue for what's ahead, which is why you don't need to see too far ahead of you.
how dare you guys spend tons of your time creating something for other people to enjoy and not always agree with me?! keep up the great work guys. game sack is the only web show i've seen every episode of, most of which more than once. it's clear you guys know what you're talking about, put a lot of work into it, and love games. keep on keeping on. for every one whiny moron there are 10 of us who really love the show.
Double Dragon for Zeebo is a game worth mentioning. It is a complete remake of Double Dragon (but in 2D and with the gameplay faithful to the original for Arcade other than Double Dragon Neon which is quite average), it has improvements from other games in the series like Double Dragon Advance and is considered one of the best if not the best remake in the series. The problem is that it was launched exclusively for a console called Zeebo that was made by TecToy in 2008 and was only launched in Brazil, Mexico, China and India, it had the proposal to be a fully digital console without the need for physical media, because of that, after the Zeebo servers were closed in 2011 it became impossible to download new games to the console and nowadays it is extremely difficult to find a Zeebo that has this remake of Double Dragon in its internal memory.
Hmm...NO...Uniracers was actually fun and got more and more intense. It would (if Blockbuster existed today) be a worthy rental,Uniracers was also one on my first games I ever owned.I loved it then and still do now.
Wow! Someone else played Trax? Yes, indeed, it's a truly superb game in all fronts - it's fun, looks good, sounds good. The problem is that it's very short - only 4 or 5 stages.
Despite being a huge Nintendo fan, my favorite game series of all time is actually Shenmue. It didn't catch on as much as SEGA hoped and I doubt we'll ever see part 3 in that epic story. ;_;
Hehe, well, absolutely! I check all of my TH-cam comment replies, unless I posted in a thread of comments that keeps getting replies irrelevant to my own so I mute it! You can find me on Inkbunny under the username TenshiCat, if you'd like~
loved Uniracers (Unirally in Australia) back in the day & still enjoy playing it from time to time. Even if you guys aren't into the game, it makes me happy. Great episode though
It's like Joe didn't understand the theme of this episode. Don't ask yourself why those games were forgotten if they were crap! :P Also, Solar Striker has great music, but as per usual you guys show a weak part of the soundtrack when there is no narration. I've noticed that since your first episodes, it's like every single time you guys say "great music!" then stop talking, you do it on purpose to show the worst part of the soundtrack. Check the part from 20:58 to 21:08. Really? Haha, anyway, still love you guys.
GoldenSirius That part you cited wasn't meant to show off the music as I didn't cut to music after he talked about it, just after he was done the segment. I couldn't really find any music that I liked when reviewing Dave's footage of that game so I just put something there that I hadn't already showed. But we always try to show awesome parts of the music and I think we do. Maybe you just don't like the awesome parts? :)
I'm starting to make the same emotional attachment to game sack Sundays as I did to Saturday morning cartoons , don't you guys ever stop doing this ever as I can't take another break up
When there's gameplay of a game on the TV in the background while they're talking I like to imagine they pay some guy to sit on the floor and play something
im going to be very blunt with you guys. out of every video game review channel youtube has to be offer i must say, your channel is probably the very best out of all my subscriptions. idk something about your channel just have a good charm to it...and to me its better than all of the major video game review channels like ign, machinima, and other underground channels. sometimes you guys can be corny as hell tho, but something about your style that makes it feel right. you guys are awesome.
from what I understand, you guys are nowhere as popular as I think you should be. and I wanna say this. please never stop putting out these videos. this has easily become one of my favourite channels on youtube. I think the best things about the show are -two people talking about all the different games is enough to get a different perspective on each of them -the show is almost entirely gameplay footage, with actual interesting commentary -20 min videos -a new topic every time good job.
Im your biggest fan :D im from portugal..u guys inspired me...so i started my own collection...till now have 243 games...not much...but it´s a start...keep the good work!
Conquest of the Crystal Palace should have more attention, and sequels. That game is definitely not only a hidden gem, but a game that time has completely forgotten about.
Which version did you get? I'd like to compare them someday as the Saturn and PS versions run more smoothly than the 3DO version, but it'd be impossible to tell on TH-cam since it only runs at 30fps.
Awesome video as always, you guys picked some games I would have never thought to pick. You guys should really consider making this a regular thing, maybe even dedicating a spot every year for it. But hey, any Game Sack is good Game Sack.
It's nice to see someone giving some credit to Stunt Race FX, yeah, the game it's a bit jerky but it has solid and fun gameplay with nice animations, people didn't appreciate it the way they should. There was a fighting game for the arcades that had a very basic weapon system and some almost naked egyptian chick that threw hearts in fire. Can't remember it's name. It fell in obscurity 'cause it was overshadowed by the then new and exciting SFII and MK, it was somewhat fun yet flawed. Speaking of fighting games... what happened to Power Instinct?, to Waku Waku 7?, Last Bronx?, Bloody Roar?, Fighting Vipers?, World Heroes?, heck... freaking Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting?, Rival Schools?, Bushido Blade? I needz anzwerz!!!
Grandia. True, it had 3 main games and 3 spinoffs (ok, 2 and a half spinoffs), but it's one of those games that's been forgotten so much and for no good reason.
Never heard about Astal before. Definitely deserves a place in history, if only because of it's art style and music. It seems it's only fault was arriving late to the party.
For Crash Team Racing, here is some more info - An indirect sequel, Crash Nitro Kart, was released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and N-Gage. One favorite game of mine that never seems to make any list is the amazing Jazz Jackrabbit games that were out for the PC in the 90's
You should do another of these videos later highlighting more games, I found it interesting to see games I haven't played and have played. Also I liked rise of the kasai a lot
When I think of forgotten games, I think Fear Effect. True it had a sequel, but the third game was canceled very close to completion, the planned film was canceled, and the series was never heard from again. It's a real shame.
I still own the very same PS1 disc of Crash Team Racing, which is the first PlayStation game I ever played. Despite being over 20+ years old and with old rent shop stickers remaining on the disc, it is still fully playable and fun on my backup PS2! During the start of the COVID lockdown, me and my brother got the game out and we kicked each other's butts at it! I even have the original memory PS1 memory card which still works and even tracked the last time I saved it... Back in June of 2004 when I was just 7 years old and another file save in February of 2013!
Out of the blue, I decided to watch a Game Sack video I haven't seen yet and it just so happens to be one, that has the first Game Boy game, my brother had (I think it was packaged with his GB) in it. I didn't even remember its name and never thought that I'd recognize it, as it would look too similar to other shooters on the Game Boy, but for some reason I recognized it nearly immediately (and was absolutely sure when I saw the game over screen. I remember that crashing ship oddly well.). Talk about coincidences.
They're so forgotten, their inappropriate for a video about forgotten things? You just blew my mind! Also, lemme try this. Symphony of the Night, Clockwork Knight, Legend of Oasis, Sonic R, Sonic 3D Blast, Some fighting games? That's all I can name that I don't only know because of this show.
Stunt Race FX owned so much. Hearing the sound effects is so nostalgic.
Thanks for another great episode Game Sack dudes
You should watch the episode where we don't break eye contact with each other or blink at all for the entire show. That's our sexiest episode. :)

I'm glad ristar got forgotten because that was a boring game
Ristar looks amazing. Those graphics! Gonna have to play that one
Thanks for the kind words. People like you definitely help the show more than you realize. The next episode is gonna be longer.
I loved Ristar back then and was so hoping for a sequel. The voice samples never bothered me.
I thought the game gear version was better personally. It had all the charm of the console version but seemed to fit better on a small screen and no voices!
I've played Jade Empire twice now... It's definitely a forgotten Bioware classic!
Man I had completely forgotten about that game but I remember it being pretty hyped when it came out. I may have to dig this one back up! Haha 🍻
I think that has something to do with it being an XBox exclusive
@@TheTjoconnor It has a PC version as well.
You mean... a hidden gem!?
Ristar and Dynamite Headdy, two great games. I never minded the voices in Ristar. Some of the singing levels even have a really otherworldly vibe. Also, the level mechanics design on Ristar deserved at least a mention.

I loved SolarStriker. I still remember the excitement I felt, when I got it for Christmas from my aunt. That box art alone just mesmerized me.
This show should be up to a million subs it's so good!!!
keep up the great work guys, always love tuning in to GameSack for a new episode!
Not enough people know of Medievil. Sir Dan deserves respect!
I would actually buy a console to play another Medievil
SGBlikestoplay Medievil, go watch.
"hmm un hmph un hn ummm"
Sir Daniel Fortesque, back from the dead once again.
Agreed I liked those games
Keep up the good work guys! The more obscure games/systems/addons I never heard of and more funfacts told, the more excited I get!
Ristar was yet another one of those games that after five minutes I found myself wondering, WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS SOONER?!
It's so damned good. >_
Saikyo Style *grabs popcorn*
Freedom Fighters. I loved this game and it's completely forgotten and never got a sequel
Mark of Kri, Astal and Ristar were actually really fun games. It's just a shame they didn't catch on.
Anyone remember Brave Fencer Musashi for ps1? I played that a lot back then.
I played the crap out of Musashi Samurai Legends on ps2 😉
No. Nobody remembers a semi popular game from the world's biggest games company
@@aaronmarko You’re a mean man, Aaron Marko. A mean, mean man.
I feel like Ristar had great potential. It's sad to see it go forgotten.
My day instantly gets better when I see that you guys put up a new video, it really stabs my monotonous life right in the heart. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

Ristar is one of my ALL-TIME FAVOURITES!!! The fact that they never released a sequel is a sin! I always imagined a tie-in with Sonic of some sort.
Nice to see Solar Striker get some attention i enjoy playing through it on occasion and i love the soundtrack to it. I kinda wished Nintendo made a sequel to it.

Yes, that is correct, and I actually forgot that the game was also released during the time in which Nintendo and Sega were rivals in the gaming business. ;)
@matt What do you mean "nope"? Did you not grow up in the 1990s like I did or something? :P
Thank you guys for making GameSack!
The absolute best show in the world.
what? CTR is hardly forgotten
it's forgotten because there's no sequel, or any plans for a sequel, at least that's how I take this episode. love CTR :D
CTR got lots of sequels.
I don't know why everyone forgot them all of a sudden.
crash team racing has a sequel?
It May not be direct CTR2, but Nitro Kart, Tag Team Racing, and even Nitro Kart 2 and I believe a CTR like ios game count as sequels.

Seriously though, you guys should really get yourselves an Amiga and do an episode on it, it has a lot of cool games!

;) Maybe. Next time I notice it, I'll make sure to comment again. We'll see. :)
GoldenSirius Ristar is crap? really?
I'm starting to make the same emotional attachment to game sack Sundays as I did to Saturday morning cartoons , don't you guys ever stop doing this ever as I can't take another break up
The game Bug had some control and performance problems? I guess you could say the game was *Puts on sunglasses* a little buggy.
You've earned a dislike for bad jokes
U guys should do a "Launch Titles - best and worst" episode. I dont remember ever seeing a video on that. I think that could be a great episode
I love Crash Team Racing! Me and my mom would play it all the time when I was a kid. I actually prefer it over Mario Kart to be honest.
these videos are soooooo crisp and clear!
Ristar's voice is ok. Nothing to get upset about :/
When there's gameplay of a game on the TV in the background while they're talking I like to imagine they pay some guy to sit on the floor and play something
Smelling their stinky shoeless feet lmao
uniracer dont suck.
FINALLY!!! someone talks about The Mark Of Kri and how fantastic it is!!
im going to be very blunt with you guys. out of every video game review channel youtube has to be offer i must say, your channel is probably the very best out of all my subscriptions. idk something about your channel just have a good charm to it...and to me its better than all of the major video game review channels like ign, machinima, and other underground channels. sometimes you guys can be corny as hell tho, but something about your style that makes it feel right. you guys are awesome.
from what I understand, you guys are nowhere as popular as I think you should be. and I wanna say this.
please never stop putting out these videos. this has easily become one of my favourite channels on youtube.
I think the best things about the show are
-two people talking about all the different games is enough to get a different perspective on each of them
-the show is almost entirely gameplay footage, with actual interesting commentary
-20 min videos
-a new topic every time
good job.
Im your biggest fan :D im from portugal..u guys inspired me...so i started my own collection...till now have 243 games...not much...but it´s a start...keep the good work!
I got MY copy of Solar Striker when we went on vacation in Florida too! I thought I was the only person who knew that game.
I'm glad that you guys got that it's"WRIST-STAR". You're the only other people I've heard pronounce it correctly
Thank you for showing off these games.
These episodes were so well made for their time th it was a genuine shock when they said Mark of Kri was barely 10 years old
Always fun listening to you guys. Thanks!
Conquest of the Crystal Palace should have more attention, and sequels. That game is definitely not only a hidden gem, but a game that time has completely forgotten about.
Joe, that must be the coolest t-shirt i've seen in years!
ahhhh, Gamesack, like a warm bath. I have missed you guys.
Which version did you get? I'd like to compare them someday as the Saturn and PS versions run more smoothly than the 3DO version, but it'd be impossible to tell on TH-cam since it only runs at 30fps.
Uniracers was AWESOME! Me and my brother put a lot of hours into that game!
Awesome video as always, you guys picked some games I would have never thought to pick. You guys should really consider making this a regular thing, maybe even dedicating a spot every year for it. But hey, any Game Sack is good Game Sack.
I really wanted another Mischief Makers. Loved it as a kid. Also I want another Skies of Arcadia
thank you for giving mark of kri some much deserved attention.
You're right. I don't even recall seeing a magazine ad. There might have been one but if there was it certainly wasn't very memorable.
Great eps guys! Always enjoy your stuff, half the time I forgot this stuff ever came out on Saturn because all I was playing was fighters
i love Joe's take on the dog being left on the side of the road.
You said it. My circle of friends loved Stunt Race FX!
Grandia. True, it had 3 main games and 3 spinoffs (ok, 2 and a half spinoffs), but it's one of those games that's been forgotten so much and for no good reason.
I loved BUG so much! That was the first Saturn game I ever played. So fun. Played it tons.
Love the "play with me?" impression.
Never heard about Astal before. Definitely deserves a place in history, if only because of it's art style and music. It seems it's only fault was arriving late to the party.
Godhand deserved more attention. I had a lot of fun with it
For Crash Team Racing, here is some more info - An indirect sequel, Crash Nitro Kart, was released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and N-Gage. One favorite game of mine that never seems to make any list is the amazing Jazz Jackrabbit games that were out for the PC in the 90's
You should do another of these videos later highlighting more games, I found it interesting to see games I haven't played and have played. Also I liked rise of the kasai a lot
"Finish Gargling before you talk" got me hard 😂😂😂
Unicycles would've worked immensely well in today's market with minimalism being the trend right now
For Uniracers, the tracks are color-coded in a way that tells you what lies ahead.
Another high quality episode. Keep up the good work guys.
I remember Bravoman! I used to have a Turbo Graphix and sadly it was one of the better games that I owned. Never got past the 2nd stage though :(.
