Did you guys know Slash (from Guns N' Roses) was paid by Data East to write a song about pinball on the 1995 Slash's Snakepit album "It's 5 O'clock somewhere"? The song is called "Be the Ball" and it rocks. Slash is a huge fan of pinball and even helped design the official Guns N' Roses pinball machine which was also made by Data East!
+billbarman Is this the same Slash that "couldn't handle this" and "told you I couldn't do this, guys" and flaked under the intense pressures of being interviewed by a cartoon Space Ghost? "No I will not do any zippy guitar riffs with my mouth.."
Loved the Data East games, Karnov also landed on the ZX Spectrum, C64 and Amstrad, Spectrum ands Amstrad versions being the best ones. A favorite of mine though has to be Sly Spy, absolutely awesome run and gun game with a Bond theme.
It's a shame that Paon doesn't own the rights to Bad Dudes. A vast majority of Data East's IPs got bought by some mobile phone company, Bad Dudes being one of them. They also got Joe and Mac too, which means we can kiss the thought of an HD Joe and Mac remake goodbye. :C They did get Glory of Heracles, though. Now it's technically a co-Nintendo IP.
Hearing the name "Data East" always conjures great memories. I spent a lot of time playing Karate Champ in the mid and late 1980s. Side Pocket was the coolest billiards game around for awhile. Bloody Woof... errr... Wolf was one of the first TurboGrafx-16 games that my younger brother got after getting the console for Christmas in 1989. I spent lots of quarters on Data East's Lethal Weapon 3 pinball machine at my local bowling alley in the mid 1990s, and the Jurassic Park pinball machine always caught my attention. I've been looking to track down the Data East Arcade Classics disc, which came out for the Wii back in 2010. I'm a fan of coin-op compilations, and this disc has many of the notables on it. It's sad, though, that Karate Champ never got a re-release before Data East folded; having two analog sticks as standard on controllers would have finally done the game justice, as opposed to the awful controls that plagued the PC and NES ports of the game. Happy holidays to the Game Sack team, and to your families and loved ones. Thanks for providing hours of entertainment this past year. I'm looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings.
Anytime I was in an arcade, back in the day, if I found a Data East cabinet, I knew I was in for some fun. Captain America and The Avengers, Karnov, Robocop, Bad Dudes, Joe&Mac, The Amazing Spiderman and many others I put many a quarter into. Just like with Capcom or Konami, Data East made some solid arcade titles. Great coverage guys. I hope you do more of these vids on Sega, Capcom, Konami, Irem, Technosoft, etc.
Bad Dudes was pretty lame. I'd take 2 Crude Dudes over Bad Dudes 363 days out of the year. I play Bad Dudes 2 days out of the year just to remember how crappy it is. Hell, I'd rather play Karnov than Bad Dudes, and I hate Karnov. So, the moral of the story is I hate myself, but I hate Bad Dudes more.
One thing I appreciate with each episode is that you put a lot of time and effort into them. This episode is 30 minutes long and I think there were a few that are up to 40. That's a lot in TH-cam time span lol. So that's awesome.
***** Nintendo was very strict on the religious iconography, things had a habit of slipping through though. Chances are the devs were able to convince Nintendo that they weren't the KKK. Especially since you could make the argument that they are stereotypical ghosts.
I've been sitting in one spot continually refreshing my youtube subscriptions every couple of hours for the past two weeks, just waiting for my next Game Sack fix. and now here it is! yessssss, yessssss, sweet sweet gamesack
I love this. One of your most creative and thought out episodes yet! It's not often Data East gets mentioned these days, so it's cool seeing an episode like this. I'll also add, Data East is the creator of that Road Avenger LaserDisc game you guys love a lot. Fun fact: Did you know that Data East's NES home ports were actually done by SAS Sakata? I'm surprised you mentioned a few games in passing without going into them. Bump 'n Jump is most notable to me, particularly the very well done NES remake (published by Vic Tokai in the US, also called Buggy Popper in Japan). I also know you guys are not into the pre-NES consoles, but there are a number of worthwhile games. Even if they are simple arcade-like games, many are worth taking a quick look at on the Atari 2600, Intellivision, ColecoVision and others, including those by Data East. Here are some other games you might wanna check out: B-Wings/Battle Wings - Arcade, Famicom Donald Land - Famicom BreakThru - Arcade, NES Cobra Command - LaserDisc Arcade, Sega CD Cobra Command - Arcade, NES Mission X - Arcade, Intellivision Super BurgerTime - Arcade BurgerTime - Atari 2600, Intellivision, ColecoVision Lock 'n Chase - Atari 2600, Intellivision Werewolf: The Last Warrior - NES Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory - Arcade Explorer - Arcade Disco No. 1 - Arcade
i have watched every episode 100's of times. you guys really have one of the best shows out there. I love the funny banter between you two, and you seem to be genuine friends. Not like that fake nonsense everyone tries to put online to get views. You guys deserve the best!!!!
Thank u, thank u, thank u guys for making my week. Its the best thing ever to wake up not expecting a new episode of Gamesack, and there it is on my notifications! I know its got to be alot of work so I wanted to thank u for squeezing in extra episodes sometimes instead of just bi-weekly. Which i totally understand why its every other weekend. Best show on TH-cam. Period.
I sense this could mean you guys will make episodes dedicated to other 3rd party developer companies, like Capcom, Konami, Toaplan, etc? That actually would be really awesome.
I'm definitely looking forward to that! If there's something I ought to mention with Toaplan, the majority of the games they released were shmups like Fire Shark, Out Zone, Dogyuun, etc., and when the company started to die out, the remnant employees formed Cave which was the 3rd party developer that made the more famous bullet-hell shmup genre with games like DonPachi, DoDonPachi, Mushihimesama, etc. Since you guys like shmups, I have a feeling you'd enjoy doing that one if you ever get around to that.
Ha! That ending had me and my girlfriend cracking up! "The 'L' is silent!" lmao! Great episode. Damn it I want to play that Ghostbusters arcade game and Windjammers! They look awesome! Great episode as usual!
Great episode guys ^_^ You sure have a LOT of materials for your videos, and I admit, keep up the good work, I'm always eager to see the next video 2 weeks later.
Hey guys, been watching your videos for more than a year now... Just wanted to wish you a good holiday and thank you for the 999 mega power worth of awesome episodes this year. You really make an impact with me, and I can't wait to see what next year holds for you two.
Awesome episode! I really like how informative you guys can be without getting boring! Data East always had something different that make their games pretty recognizable! I really hope to see more studio specific episodes! Happy holidays to both of you and keep up the creativity in 2015!
Boogie Wings is a true classic, I remember being floored at how fun and inventive it was after hearing about it on Left in the Arcade. The vehicle switching and grabbing stuff with the plane's hook are both mechanics that could have been a game in themselves, but Data East really went the extra mile. In fact, it almost feels like there's TOO MUCH content in the game sometimes but that's what keeps me playing it to this day.
I remember the logo and many of these games, DE brought much fun to my childhood, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Another great and informative video! Thanks Game Sack!
I have to say I am really impressed with the creativity they have show game after game. Not all of them seem like they hit the mark, but it shows that it was important for them to try different things and explore new ideas, it must have been a fun company to work for
Thanks guys. That Lock & Chase on the Game Boy was something I played a lot of as a kid. I had vague memories of it but couldn't remember the title. Thanks for helping me to straighten that out.
What about Lock N Chase on the 2600, or Burgertime? Which I think also had an Intellivsion release. They generally don't cover pre NES / Master system games or PC games. Which some of these games had ports on.
Oh, the memories! Data East was one of my favourite game companies when I was kid. Two of my favourite arcade games from their company were Gate Of Doom and Tumblepop (please don't judge me!), they also made my favoutite pinball machine ever: Tales From The Crypt. I download it for Vpinmame and it still kicks ass! Unexpected topic for an episode, a really pleasant surprise! Please make more episodes like this guys, and as always... thank you!
Great video! I always loved playing data east games on my Amiga many years ago. I remember them as the company that often got movie licensed games, and usually did them justice.
Great great job covering these classic titles (I own a large majority of these) you guys were spot on flawless from start to finish here, admiring the "full side of the cup" of these classics is what really strikes home.. just as we saw it back then. Data East is high classic material and definitely a must in every hardcore collection. You guys picked many favorites. I'd be nice to see you guys cover some Irem/Nazca (=loads of gems) and sometimes overlooked Taito.
Great episode, but it saddens me to see that almost nobody is aware of Data East Arcade Classics for Wii. The compilation isn't perfect, but it has a number of games presented here, and having arcade versions of a lot of those sure beats the NES versions.
The arcade version of "Two Crude" is playable on "Data East Arcade Classics" for the Nintendo Wii, but it was renamed "Crude Buster" for some weird reason; The same goes for "Bump 'N Jump" being renamed "Burnin' Rubber" as well.
buzzboy 24 Yeah, it's been out about seven or eight years ago, and I was able to find out about the game in an issue of Nintendo Power when it was released. :)
Great video as always guys! Just donated a few bucks on your Patreon campaign and I'm happy to do it! And I'm digging the beard Dave! Merry Christmas guys!
BurgerTime is one of my favorite games of all time! I think I first played it on an Intellivision and I immediately loved it. I wish a company like Atari would make a microconsole with an emphasis republishing new versions of older arcade games like Burger Time, Bump N Jump, Toobin', Millipede, PaperBoy,etc. which include HD graphics, surround sound, online multiplayer, simple controls, and NO 3D polygon graphics. Basically, I want something like the originals with new levels, better graphics and better sound. I really dislke long intros and cut scenes. I'm sure I'm in the minority there, but really, I just want to get on with the game. I don't need to watch a 5 minute, really boring and poorly acted scene between every level in every game. I think publishers started including them as a way to fool people into believing their games had better graphics because those scenes were often pre-rendered or had simplified backgrounds so it was easier to do things with the characters that was impossible during regular game play. I will grant a free pass to Pac Man, however, as those cut scenes are really short and seem to be intended to let your hand rest in a game without pause. And I love Pac Man. LOL.
Thought this was your best episode! Data East simply made some of the best arcade games out thereKeep up the good work. Really awesome that you guys are putting out one video a week now
Game Sack Any chance of you guys doing a similar focus on Taito games? I loved their arcade games especially their super man arcade game and Twin Cobra.
Oh definitely. We plan on doing as many developers and publishers as we can find material to cover. Some of the bigger ones will be tougher because we have to leave out more and more games and we'll disappoint someone with that no matter what we do.
man, what a great topic for an edition of Game Sack, there are a lot of Arcade Classics in this episode!! I remember Two Crude Dudes, Joe and Mac, Spinmasters and the Frisbee one like it was yesterday!
You said you wished you could play a game where all you do is make BURGERS, WELL.............. TRY SEARCHING Papa's Burgeria. Be careful what you wish for!!! Oh btw yet another fantastic video. I'm beginning to think you guys are getting the hang of this TH-cam malarkey!!
Thank You! i've been trying to remember the name of "Midnight Resistance" since the early 2000's. used to love this game. the sound track was really good and the weapon choice was excellent
Really enjoyed this episode. Not a company I was fond of growing up. I think you guys hit the nail on the head when you said that Data East made a lot of good games but nothing that you could say you loved. Like most people growing up I had to be very selective about which games I would buy and/or rent and the Data East games tended to be the ones I would look at and go, "Yeah, that looks cool, but ...", and then move on to another game like Double Dragon, or Mega Man, or ... well you get the idea. I hope you continue to make episodes like this. You definitely mentioned some games I never heard of that I'm going to check out! Thanks again!
Game Sack is such a bad ass channel. I look forward to watching every episode because they have a found an excellent formula that works. I like how they separate each episode into categories, many of which are unique and interesting. The video and sound quality is great and the gameplay footage for each game gives it a professional feel. They don't go over board with the humor, just straight to the point with the games. I like that. I also appreciate the length of each episode as they are often well over 20 minutes, sometimes past the 30 minute mark which is great to sit down and watch while you eat and meal or during a smoke session. Plus they both are good friends so they have natural chemistry that comes across well. Another solid episode.
My fave is Robocop arcade, because I liked the movie at the time and they did a great job with the visuals and sound. The home versions never came close though.
Dashin Desperados plays a lot like Sonic Rivals. By the way, there's a sort of homage to Windjammers for the PC. It's a Japanese doujin game called "Crazy Power Disc"
I will be seeking out the two Neo-Geo games you mentioned in this episode. The Game Sack is pretty deep as there are still games i should know about but dont. Thank you again for producing such an excellent show.
Data East! What a great idea for an episode. They published some of my favourite games Bump 'n' Jump, karnov, Shadowrun, and i didn't even realize they did burger time! I loved that game!
Hey guys, this was a great episode. I like the emphasis on the actual company itself and some of it's highlight games. Would love seeing more of this in the future. Sunsoft? Hudson Soft? I am sure there are dozens but really great guys, keep it up!
I like Data East. Two Crude Dudes on the Genesis is pretty great. I also love in the movie Robocop 2, the entire arcade is all Data East machines. Amazing product placement! This was a great idea for an episode. Thanks as always!
guys i love these shows keep it up. Game sack and The Video Game years are my favorite channels on youtube, that being said please expand on your console episodes. Do episodes like "SMS games we should talk about" that are system specific that cover all the games you didn't have time for before.
Midnight Resistance (Arcade version) got me into video games in the early 90s and I'm still hooked ever since! The Neo-Geo DE games looked and played wonderfully and definitely are among my favorites on the system. I miss Data East and the 90s awesome arcade games in general.
That was a lot of fun to watch, just seeing Data East takes me back to being a kid in the 80's and 90's. Little bummed that Sly Spy wasn't on the episode. That was my favorite Data East arcade game as a kid.
There is a remixed compilation game called Heavy Burger that has a variety of games from Data East and I didn't realize Heavy Barrel was the name inspiration till this episode!
Now that is what you call a promotion!
+billbarman Is this the same Slash that "couldn't handle this" and "told you I couldn't do this, guys" and flaked under the intense pressures of being interviewed by a cartoon Space Ghost?
"No I will not do any zippy guitar riffs with my mouth.."
He also fixed a whiskey drink and left it on the nightstand every night so he could catch a buzz before getting out of bed.
Two things I love, Guns and Roses and pinball
I havnt heard that song in forever. It was good
Wow. Dave looks so wise and dignified with the beard with the white flecks. I love it. Fantastic!
I've never seen Dave not looking wise and dignified!
Wise, dignified and hot. Don't forget hot.
Thank You!
googleboughtmee me neither.
Favorite new channel. You guys are awesome. Memory lane and a nostalgia trip for anyone who loves video games.
Thanks!
Loved the Data East games, Karnov also landed on the ZX Spectrum, C64 and Amstrad, Spectrum ands Amstrad versions being the best ones.
A favorite of mine though has to be Sly Spy, absolutely awesome run and gun game with a Bond theme.
I just love that odd numbered stage theme in Midnight Resistance. Such a good game, and one of my favorite Run and Guns.
F
Data East is, and always will be my favorite game developer. I can only dream what they could accomplish with today's technology.
It'd be pretty cool if Paon revived the Bad Dudes series ala Double Dragon Neon!
They should make" Bad Dudes & Two Crude: The Ultimate Team". I'd back it!
They did get Glory of Heracles, though. Now it's technically a co-Nintendo IP.
Data East = the poor man's Treasure
noisyturtle True dat!
Apart from Windjammers. That game is epically awesome.
Thanks Peter! Merry Christmas to you.

Agree
Bad Dudes was pretty lame. I'd take 2 Crude Dudes over Bad Dudes 363 days out of the year. I play Bad Dudes 2 days out of the year just to remember how crappy it is.
Hell, I'd rather play Karnov than Bad Dudes, and I hate Karnov.
So, the moral of the story is I hate myself, but I hate Bad Dudes more.
Another amazing video from the best show on TH-cam. Thanks guys.
Thank You!
One thing I appreciate with each episode is that you put a lot of time and effort into them. This episode is 30 minutes long and I think there were a few that are up to 40. That's a lot in TH-cam time span lol. So that's awesome.
The reason that the US version of Karnov dosent have cutscenes,is because God appears in the cutscenes.
***** Nintendo was very strict on the religious iconography, things had a habit of slipping through though. Chances are the devs were able to convince Nintendo that they weren't the KKK. Especially since you could make the argument that they are stereotypical ghosts.
Thanks for that info. I wondered why that guy had a halo above his head.
David White Why can't you take a look at something, Dave? Maybe the next time it's a Nintendo thing.
David White
Rock that beard.
AND Karnov is talking directly to him. People would have flipped their SHIT in the US
I've been sitting in one spot continually refreshing my youtube subscriptions every couple of hours for the past two weeks, just waiting for my next Game Sack fix. and now here it is! yessssss, yessssss, sweet sweet gamesack
Matthew Thomas
Hahah
Love Game Sack quality thirty minute videos, unlike some other TH-camrs who barely do more then ten minutes nowadays...
Awww nice one guys - Data East are my all time favourite developer...cheers for showing them some love and dedicating a whole show to em
I love this. One of your most creative and thought out episodes yet! It's not often Data East gets mentioned these days, so it's cool seeing an episode like this. I'll also add, Data East is the creator of that Road Avenger LaserDisc game you guys love a lot.

Also forgot about Side Pocket - Arcade, NES, Genesis
Marc Marta Oh sweet jesus, how I love B-Wings!!
i have watched every episode 100's of times. you guys really have one of the best shows out there. I love the funny banter between you two, and you seem to be genuine friends. Not like that fake nonsense everyone tries to put online to get views. You guys deserve the best!!!!
This is a really great idea guys. I hope you do more developer videos like this in the future 😊
Dave's beard meets with my approval, and Data East was a big part of my childhood, so thanks for making this awesome episode.
The Midnight Resistance tune is fantastic!
Yep
Thank u, thank u, thank u guys for making my week. Its the best thing ever to wake up not expecting a new episode of Gamesack, and there it is on my notifications! Just wanted to throw some love your way Game Sack. Thanks for the great vids and bringing back my gaming memories.
Thank You!
Ha! That ending had me and my girlfriend cracking up! "The 'L' is silent!" lmao! Great episode. Damn it I want to play that Ghostbusters arcade game and Windjammers! They look awesome! Great episode as usual!
Thanks! I'm glad we made you laugh.
Always impressed by how much I learn from your videos. You guys keep that bar nice and high. Kudos!
Great episode guys ^_^
You sure have a LOT of materials for your videos, and I admit, keep up the good work, I'm always eager to see the next video 2 weeks later.
Thank You.
Hey guys, been watching your videos for more than a year now... Just wanted to wish you a good holiday and thank you for the 999 mega power worth of awesome episodes this year. You really make an impact with me, and I can't wait to see what next year holds for you two.
Thank you that's very kind. Happy Holidays to you and I also can't wait to see what the new year will hold.
Awesome episode! I really like how informative you guys can be without getting boring! Data East always had something different that make their games pretty recognizable! I really hope to see more studio specific episodes! Happy holidays to both of you and keep up the creativity in 2015!
Thank You! Happy Holidays to you as well.
Ahh nice 30 min episode to have sunday coffee with thanks guys!
You guys remember the Data East game Night Slashers?
Boogie Wings is a true classic, I remember being floored at how fun and inventive it was after hearing about it on Left in the Arcade. "presented by Data East"
that was forever in my mind
Another classic episode on the history of video games. Gotta love one hit deaths! True gaming at its finest. Happy holidays Game Sack!
Hey game sack, I really liked this kind of episode focusing on a single developer. I like it, please do more like this :)
Thanks! I'm sure we will cover other developers in the, hopefully, near future.
yeah! It was a great idea!
I remember the logo and many of these games, DE brought much fun to my childhood, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Another great and informative video! Thanks Game Sack!
Another fine addition to the Game Sack Collection of videos. Dave, love the beard man. Thinking of growing one for the winter myself.
Thanks! Grow that beard!!
You guys are awesome..thanks for another year of the best retro gaming channel on TH-cam!!
I loved DE's Side Pocket
I have to say I am really impressed with the creativity they have show game after game. Not all of them seem like they hit the mark, but it shows that it was important for them to try different things and explore new ideas, it must have been a fun company to work for
"Presented by Data East"
"SIDE POCKET !!!"
Yes!
Thanks guys. That Lock & Chase on the Game Boy was something I played a lot of as a kid. I had vague memories of it but couldn't remember the title. Thanks for helping me to straighten that out.
Unsubbed because you didn't cover Lock N Chase on Intellevision.
oh wait, dont make people mad at you. lol
That's impossible no one can live without the SACK you need it in your life I dare you to hit that unsubscribe button
Eric loves the SACK!!!
What about Lock N Chase on the 2600, or Burgertime? Which I think also had an Intellivsion release. They generally don't cover pre NES / Master system games or PC games. Which some of these games had ports on.
My only complaint is that they forgot about the NES version of Joe and Mac. But I will let that slide.

Dave's beard has arrived to challenge Joe's for dominance!
Great video! I always loved playing data east games on my Amiga many years ago. I remember them as the company that often got movie licensed games, and usually did them justice.
I remember EGM's review of Captain Silver. "This is Sega's Simon's Quest."
Oh no!
Struck me funny since it had very little in common with Simon's Quest.
Wind Jammers was one of my favorite arcade games and for years I've never remembered the name.. Thank you Game Sack!
Werewolf: The Last Warrior - Their best NES game
Goku was expecting this. How come they miss this out
Great great job covering these classic titles (I own a large majority of these) you guys were spot on flawless from start to finish here, admiring the "full side of the cup" of these classics is what really strikes home.. just as we saw it back then. I've been wanting to get that but haven't yet. Hopefully soon.
I only now found out about it by looking at the comments.
I imported it from the USA to the UK even though I can't play it as don't have a American Wii.
The arcade version of "Two Crude" is playable on "Data East Arcade Classics" for the Nintendo Wii, but it was renamed "Crude Buster" for some weird reason; The same goes for "Bump 'N Jump" being renamed "Burnin' Rubber" as well.
Wait, there is a compilation for the Wii? I'll have to take a look at that next chance I get!
buzzboy 24 Yeah, it's been out about seven or eight years ago, and I was able to find out about the game in an issue of Nintendo Power when it was released. :)
I never know if I want to watch your videos at night, or save them for later on a slow Sunday. Its a great problem to have every 2 weeks.
Great video as always guys! Just donated a few bucks on your Patreon campaign and I'm happy to do it! And I'm digging the beard Dave! Merry Christmas guys!
Thank you and Thank You!!! Merry Christmas!

I will grant a free pass to Pac Man, however, as those cut scenes are really short and seem to be intended to let your hand rest in a game without pause. And I love Pac Man. LOL.
Thought this was your best episode! Data East simply made some of the best arcade games out thereKeep up the good work. Really awesome that you guys are putting out one video a week now
Really game sack?! It's 1 in the morning!.. But I shall watch
3 a.m. here lol
Tarkhun Fora 5:09 here! (I'm in Uruguay lol)
No it's not, it's 5:30pm. Your clock is broken.
It's about 9:30 AM here.
Saturday, 11:41 PM. California.
Excellent video Game Sack!!! I learned so much from this episode. So many quirky Data East games that I want to try out.
"I wish there was a game dedicated to making burgers"
*Papa's Burgeria intensifies*
i've been waiting forever for you guys to cover midnight resistance!! brings back so many memories, that music is so amazing.
Game Sack
Any chance of you guys doing a similar focus on Taito games? I loved their arcade games especially their super man arcade game and Twin Cobra.
Oh definitely. We plan on doing as many developers and publishers as we can find material to cover. Some of the bigger ones will be tougher because we have to leave out more and more games and we'll disappoint someone with that no matter what we do.
Uploading at these hours gives me something to watch before a 5AM bedtime. :D Thanks, Game Sack!
Dave looks good with a beard.
Thanks!
man, what a great topic for an edition of Game Sack, there are a lot of Arcade Classics in this episode!! I remember Two Crude Dudes, Joe and Mac, Spinmasters and the Frisbee one like it was yesterday!
Nice beard dave. Kinda got a Max Payne 3 going.
One of my favorite companies back in the day. I would have liked to know why they went out of business, but can always look it up myself.
Handsome man beard. I approve.
Thank You!
Wow thanks so much guys. Knew and played many of these games in my youth but learned about so many more here. Thanks again, as always, brilliant vid.

Done years ago!
Or... y'know, Burger Time, later on in this very same video.
Thank You! i've been trying to remember the name of "Midnight Resistance" since the early 2000's. used to love this game. the sound track was really good and the weapon choice was excellent
"Game dedicated to making burger ?" = Burgertime (NES, Arcade)
Hmmm... we'll have to check out that game sometime... :)
Game Sack
There's also that Power Pad game that was included as part of a combo pack: Short Order/Eggsplode
Game Sack and you guys review that game 2 minutes after asking that.
It was almost as if they were making a joke about a Data East game in this Data East video.
This was an excellent episode, but IMO, Captain America & the Avengers should have been covered. Pretty cool arcade/SNES game, but crappy NES game.
Another solid episode.
data east? more like gay-ta east. amirite?
TSSS FUCKIN HOME RUN
This idiot has lost his mind.
***** Sounds like the title of a Radiohead b-side.
8-Bit Eric? More like 8-Shit Eric. amirite?
No you are wrong! I will send the BAD DUDES or the CRUDE DUDES to smash all of your christmas presents. LOWBROW.
Those last few games were pretty cool. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the episode during the holidays! Happy Holidays GameSack!
Bump and Jump is a classic. I use to play it for hours with my aunt when we would visit her in the mountains as a kid. Great memories.
I love the episode, love data East.. This is why I watch game sack!
great episode, guys! had some of my favorite games and a few i had never heard of. thanks!
Would love to see more episodes like this. Really enjoyed it.

Love what you guys did here. Talking about dev studios is a great idea. Now. Can I make a request? Treasure and Smilebit. Tnx!
Excellent job guys! Cheers from Ecuador!
Great idea for an episode! Loving it
I really want a cheeseburger now.
thankfully I can continue to listen to G.S while I cook some up.
Thanks @GameSack. You made me hungry.
Data East was a great company and had a heavy presence in UK arcades. I have very fond memories of Caveman Ninja and Tumble Pop.
Going through the different developers is a great choice of direction and could provide material for a long time.
Dashin Desperadoes!! That's one of those games my cousin and I used to play constantly that I thought no one else knew existed!
This is a great episode. So many interesting games. I only knew about "Minnesota Fats Pool Legend" and "Two Crude Dudes".
Another great episode, guys. Keep up the great work!
