I wish Ash met up with Ho-Oh again at the end of Journeys and had the opportunity to catch it. Ho-Oh is the Pokemon that has shown the growth of Ash throughout the series so its fitting that Ash catches Ho-Oh.
Do you really think ho-oh can be catched!!! He is a damned powerful legendary pokemon. He is only one and can only be captured at his own will. And off coarse does not matter how great person ash is no legendary Pokemon will ever decide to be captured by a human they have their own duties in nature.
It would've been nice if Ash actually found out why he kept seeing Ho-Oh as many times as he did. I know his journey is technically over now, but never say never.....
ash is one of the few trainers who should actually keep ho-oh. next to pikachu, probably one of his most iconic scenes is with ho-oh. he's also the only one outside of the games protags who could be worthy of not just one but BOTH legendary trio leaders. that being lugia and ho-oh since ash has encountered them numerous times before, and even lugia expressed he was sad to see ash leave in the 2000's movie. not to mention the time ash saved baby lugia and its mother. as well as the handful of other legendarary's and mythics like mew and mewtwo, who would happily vouch for him.
It’s like ash and Ho Oh have some connection with eachother! Ho oh is like a god to ash and I remember it appearing in the sinnoh League victor intro as well plus it’s quite a history for ash associating with the legendary ho oh too. 😊
Like you said your explanation fits perfectly with what Ash concluded what it means to be a Pokemon master. Would have been awesome if he saw Ho-Oh right after and battled it. It would have been the perfect conclusion to the series.
The fact that "Aim to be an pokemon master" WASN'T focus on Ho-oh was an big let down, very happy with how horizons been going but man, ash final episodes should of been the best send-off
I think that Ho-oh showing it self to Ash being that Ash may be the person to restore its Faith in Humanity is good and He did the Same with MewTwo showing him not all humans are bad.

I wish Ash could catch Ho-Oh. It's a destined fit for him. Plus: there's the phrase "A Phoenix rises from the Ashes". Ash's name being Ash & Ho-Oh's based on a phoenix. it sounds symbiotic. Ho-Oh's looking for a special trainer, & that trainer should be Ash. It sucks that it didn't appear with him in Ash's final episode with Ash starting a new journey. Cool video, i feel like Ho-Oh would be to Ash, what Articuno is to Noland, sometimes it could battle alongside Ash when facing worthy opponents that are pure of heart, would also make for a fine Frontier Brain battle. Lil segway to my question. What team do you think Ash would have as a Frontier Brain? Cause i could see Ash fill that role for a while. He could lend his pokemon to the challengers, that way we'd also see more of them. I think his battle facility would be a stadium like in Sword & Shield and his battles would have a Mega evolution, a Z move and a Dynamax. Just like the games, Ash would have 2 teams, 1 for the silver medal and another for the gold 1. Silver: Pikachu(Z), Lucario(Mega), Sceptile/Infernape, Melmetal(Dyna) Gold: Pikachu(Dyna), Oh-Ho(Z), Charizard(Mega), Greninja Since Frontier Brains like having a Legendary in their team, i tried to give Ash a powerhouse in each team. Lucario is one of Ash's strongest and would like as many battles as possible, hence the silver team. The starters are interchangeable, but i think his strongest are Greninja and Charizard.

Well, Ho-Oh... If the fact that, pretty much, a majority of his Pokémon joined him willingly... A ton formed a close-knit bond with him... And even female Pokémon got a case of extreme fondness, and, in some cases, a crush (Including a legendary and a mythical)... Dudn’t convince you that Ash was worthy, I don’t know what to tell you. Although, I do say that is another arc that should have had more time in the course of the main anime, and a full resolution.
A match between Pikachu and ho-oh reminds me of wobbuffet vs Articuno. It's going to be a good fight. A fight I won't mind seeing on the big screen. The fact on the first two days that ash is on his journey he sees him. I'm going to have my popcorn ready. Always a great class professor.
lol i still remember when i first saw this episode i went outside and renacted the scene with a seagull, haha oh the 90s playing n64 in the sunroom with the game shark riding my bike with friends those times were great
Ho-oh was one of the first things in media that truly gave me a sense of wonder and adventure. I watched that episode of Pokemon a lot, and every time, Ho-oh's appearance would spark mystery and wonder in me. The same goes for it's three beasts, especially Suicune in The Voice of the Forest. Imo, these are still the benchmark for how legendary creatures should be like in fantasy. Even though they're largely overshadowed now by some of the power powerful/mythical Pokemon, they'll always be my favorites.

I could only imagine one day, Ash would be riding on Ho-Oh. Not capturing it. But as he, Ho-Oh and Pikachu look down on many trainers too see if they are like him.
Ash saw Ho-Oh because he is a pure hearted trainer. Ash seeks to be friends and help pokemon. I do find it sad that Ho-Oh had a bigger story than Lugia.
I keep think of a movie trilogy that takes place in a timeskip and we see a older and more mature Ash (voiced by Elijah Woods) and Pikachu that will truly wrap up all possible plot points, including a battle to remember with ho oh with all his friends and rivals to see, win or lose.

Having a name like Ash finding a phoenix pokemon that has sacred ashes. I dont know somethings definitely there. This gets overlooked because its a translation thing, however back then there was a definitive ending to the anime that got scrapped after it got more episodes and it can be related to this. The answer to these old questions might be far simpler then we think.

I think pokemon missed a chance to have ho-oh go with ash as his last pokemon catch of the season. I think it would've been fitting if ho-oh agreed to go with ash now that he was champion, not to fight but to live happily with a trainer who valued it so highly and who He looked up to it as a mysterious guide forwards.

What If... Video Suggestion. What If Ash Successfully Caught Fearow at the end of Pallet Party Panic? It's a interesting enough idea, I mean I doubt much would change, except for a new reason for Ash to release his Pidgeot so Ash can have Fearow part of his team, if he doesn't just plan to keep it at Oak's Lab apart of his reserve team of Pokémon like Muk, Kingler and Tauros.
I think Ho-Oh allowing Ash to catch it, would more than confirm that Ash is a Pokemon Master, since Ho-OH figuratively symbolizes what a Pokemon Master is; an ultimate and harmonious connection to all Pokemon. After all, Ho-Oh is arguably a pokemon revered by all humans and pokemon, and it also symbolizes the bridge of human and pokemon ultimate harmonious connection. For this reason, if Ho-Oh ever allows Ash to catch it, such an event would symbolize bond of mutual respect as the legendary would consider Ash as a worthy enough trainer to be its partner and be considered a fellow Pokemon Master. Of course, I dont expect Ash to keep it, but instead release it as a symbol of respecting Ho-OH's duty to continue to roam the world and look for other worthy trainers, as Ho-OH would also expect for Ash to continue his journey of connecting with other pokemon, since that is the role of being a Pokemon Master.
Ho-Oh is still one of my favorite legendary tell this very day Ho-Oh is probably the most Mysterious legendary Pokémon. since no one seen it but Ash and Goh tell the end.

After all, Ho-Oh is arguably a pokemon revered by all humans and pokemon, and it also symbolizes the bridge of human and pokemon ultimate harmonious connection.
For this reason, if Ho-Oh ever allows Ash to catch it, such an event would symbolize bond of mutual respect as the legendary would consider Ash as a worthy enough trainer to be its partner and be considered a fellow Pokemon Master. Of course, I dont expect Ash to keep it, but instead release it as a symbol of respecting Ho-OH's duty to continue to roam the world and look for other worthy trainers, as Ho-OH would also expect for Ash to continue his journey of connecting with other pokemon, since that is the role of being a Pokemon Master.

Ho-Oh is still one of my favorite legendary tell this very day Ho-Oh is probably the most Mysterious legendary Pokémon. since no one seen it but Ash and Goh tell the end.
