Nope it wouldn't, the anime would be boring as soon as he would catch one legendary because it would be OP and it would be granted that he will be the champion of the region he catched that legendary in, then the next region again exciting to the point where he catches one and then boring as fuck. But it would be nice seeing the legendaries sometimes coming to visit him, like to see they are still friends, or even better as a "family" in a "family reunion" and to maybe show-off in front of Goh heh

Honestly, a lot of Ash's encounters with various Legendaries just in the anime makes me wonder if all the ones who know him ever group up together somewhere and discuss things that happen in their own regions only for one to mention this kid with an abnormally strong Pikachu and ten different Legends pop up like, "Oh! We know that kid!" It would range from Ho-oh seeing him after that storm to helping save Kyogre more than once to Zekrom and Reshiram and the Kami Trio telling of their own separate encounters (plus the whole Meloetta arc) to Xerneas and the Zygarde Cores mentioning him along with Bonnie to the Island Guardians revealing that, surprise!, Ash is the newly-crowned Champion of Alola. It just seems like a lot of fun interactions between the Legends, just talking about all of Ash's adventures they might have seen or even directly encountered him on.

@Ahmed Sandi Ash found it as a Meltan from an infestation of them. Then it evolved into Melmetal, and as it was not an ultra beast for the Aether Foundation, Ash so-to-say owned Melmatal. There were over 10 episodes with melmetal in them.

It would actually be the safest option for both her and Altomare. Think about it, the only reason the DMA was able to be used was because both the soul dew and Latios were right there in the exact same place. If the Eon Flute had been a thing then Latias could have easily gone with very little negative consequences.
One thing to note - During his championship battle with Leon, Pikachu blacked out for a moment and had a flashback to all the Pokemon Ash ever owned. One noteable inclusion was Solgaelo with his Alolan team. He didn't catch Larvitar either but it was included with his Johoto Masters team.
Still not sure why they didn't include Rotomdex with Alola.

Here's a potential explanation for why Ash hasn't caught a legendary: Both the anime and the games explicitly state that they are guardians. Therefore, they have a job and it's to preserve the order of nature that Arceus had formed and to protect their home cities, protect both people and pokemon. Although, you could argue that we catch legendaries in the games. Would that technically mean that we, as the player, are the bad guys that disrupted the order? I mean there have been many pokemon theories across the years that suggest that our player character is a bad guy, like Red crushing Blue's/Green's dreams, or Brendan/May being responsible for Wally's death. To answer the previous question, both yes and no. Yes, because it depends on how you look at it. No, because it's a game for kids. And because most of the time whenever we have to catch legendary/mythical pokemon, it's usually during a desperate situation that asks for it, whether it be because of a criminal organization or a pokemon going berserk. And they do play a role in stopping the organization. But at the end of the day, the anime, the games, and other Pokemon-related media are meant to be seen as individual medias that are independent of each other. The anime contradicts itself almost always and the pokedex from the games isn't exactly consistent either. So at the end of the day, there's always 2 sides to every coin. There is no such thing as ultimate good or ultimate evil. This is a question with no answer, because we will never truly know why Ash never catches a legendary when we do it in the games all the time. And who knows? Maybe Ash will catch one in the future.

I love the idea of Tapu Koko being Ash and Pikachu's mentor figure. It's shown to be far more of an active diety in the games as a protector so the idea of it seeing some potential in the two and being their mentor figure is great.
If you catch arceus, you have the title of God Catcher. But imagine how op that'd be if Ash caught Arceus.

The only reason he hasn't catched any legendary pokemon is because it would automatically be a defining factor in his league battles (Means that he would actually be winning them) and allow him to finally grow the fuck up and not be a 10 yr old for 20 yrs now
But then they would need to replace him since having an older Ash wouldn't cut it, it's a kid show. They dont have any reason to make him age since keeping him as a 10yr old always brings em a ton of money and Ash Has become an Icon which makes them even more money. Both him and Pikachu, that is.

I can easily dispute your Tapu Koko claim. Granted, it did take a rather unusual interest in Ash, but the reason it battled him multiple times was simple... It's entire lore revolves around it liking to battle. Watching Battles, taking part in battles, If there is a sick battle going on somewhere, he wants a part of it. This is explained both in the games and the Anime. So, while the first battle was more to explain Z-Moves to Ash, the second was because Ash had become someone worth Battling, and it wanted to go a round.

I can accept Ash not catching legendary and mythical Pokemon he meets and befriends in the movies, but ones he meet in the show there’s no excuse.
The reason he doesn’t catch the legendary Pokémon is because they each play a important role in the world.

Fun fact the writters were originally planning to have Ash catch Latias and have her develope a rivalry for his attention with Bayleef, but the idea was dropped out of fear, that non movie watchers would be confused

Maybe ash doesn't want to capture the rare pokemon because he thinks that thay are important on keep the pokemon world save or maybe feels like he isn't ready yet or something like that. That's my guess I'm not really sure LOL.
