I'm back! Sorry for the long delay 😅Due to my full-time work revving up, and views being on the lower end since Ash left the series, I haven't been able to focus as much time on the channel. That said, I'm going to try to do ~ 2 videos per month, going forward (hopefully more, though). Ash's Kalos Team: We Have No Fears

Ash's Kalos Team: We have three fears
Talonflame, Hawlucha and Noivern were Ash's only Kalos Pokemon that he brought back to Kanto and currently owned while Greninja and Goodra got the releases by the XY Writers.
@@Jess19980Also talonflame and hawlucha are both fire and fighting types so They can beat the rock and Ice part
I wouldn't say rock and ice are much of a problem since he has 2 pokemon that deal super effective damage to those types. Electric is the biggest problem since Ash has no ground types (then again, the only Gen 6 ground types are Diggersby and Zygarde...) but both Goodra and Pikachu resist electric moves.
Don't forget fairy
Don't tell anyone about 4/7 of Ash's Sinnoh squad falling to Ice types or his Alola Team getting washed by Ground types.
Talonflame is easily my favorite of Ash's flying types. I love how much he was used in 7/8 gyms and how he pretty much always got a good win out of every battle he was in.
Was he only not used in grant's gym?
@@pieterhofkens7259 He was used in Grant's gym because Grant allowed Ash to use his whole team. He wasn't used in Clemont's.
I love how they animated Talonflame in the series. That fire type idea is great
The battle with Unfezant was especially cool on the animation front :)
Seeing the small bursts of wind blow after Talonflame or Unfezant flew in a certain direction really emphasized the sense of speed that battle had.

Talonflame came in clutch so many times. Whether it was outmaneuvering opposing Pokémon in a battle (like with Olympia's Meowstic), helping hatch Noibat using its Flame Body ability and being a big brother figure alongside Hawlucha, or with helping train Gengar for the Masters 8 Tournament. It quickly became one of my favorite regional bird Pokémon.
During the Kalos Saga 1st showing... ever since the moment Fletchling evolved into Fletchinder, due to the circumstances, i was predicting that Ash's eventual Talonflame would learn Fire Blast. It's a shame this never happened though. It's a shame Flame Charge was It's strongest Fire move too. Just imagine, being able to call for Aerial Fire Blast's.. the power behind them, the creativeness of using that move in mid air, changing where you are on the battle field, not stuck on the ground... It would have been next level, and made Talonflame even more of a threat!

They never give ash's pokemon good moves. Greninja knew cut 😭😭
It's strange how Talonflame lost a projectile option in general. The only moves it used after evolution were Flame Charge, Steel Wing and Brave Bird. It probably still has Razor Wind but Ash just...never uses it. It was never the most useful move but it's still an option and better than just having 3 moves.
@@c-a-t-entertinment7075 Oh my gosh, I can see it now. Ash tells Talonflame to shoot out a Fire Blast during Flame Charge and then move would be even stronger and look cooler with these long fire streaks trailing behind the move.
@@castform7 considering how Serena's Braixen (Delphox now) has used multiple times fireblast. We wanted to see something fire like that from Ash's Talonflame. Don't get me wrong, I loved Brave Bird and Flame Charge too
I remember playing X for the first time and seeing my Fletchinder evolve into Talonflame made it one of my personal favs
Even used one in Pokemon Violet
Great way to start off the classes of 2024. Talonflame was a super solid bird. May not have finished battles but definitely put in the work. Kinda funny that it was in almost every gym battle. Almost got to tie with Johto Pikachu.

I mean... while Greninja is considered the ace of Kalos, the true ace is actually Talonflame, since it has had the most impact on the overall Gym and League run.
It's funny how Talonflame is Ash's second Flying/Fire type after Charizard.
Talonflame did stand out from Ash’s other regional bird Pokémon in being a fire/flying type and being the final regional bird Pokémon Ash caught during his journey.
My Talonflame would have the following moves:
- Flamethrower
- Steel Wing
- Air Slash
- Temper Flare
His best flying type since staraptor
My fav will always be Swellow XD I love the firey animation though for Talonflame and its battle with Unfezant
Swellow is the best regional bird of Ash

Talonflame never forgot Razor Wind, yet it barely used it anymore after evolving. I can think of at least 3 scenarios where that move would've been handy.

Nice to see you back Professor Silver! In my opinion Taloflame is one of Ash's strongest Kalos teams stronger than Hawlucha, she may not be stronger than his Swellow and Staraptor but she is one of his better flying types and is a great example for her battles.

Greninja hadn't evolved into Greninja yet. It was still Frogadier. And let's not forget about Talonflame vs Alain's Unfezant in the Kalos league.

I feel like Pidgeot's return majorly enhanced its arc for me. So much personality shown in that one scene reuniting with Ash :)

Yes I liked him two he may not have peaked like swellow and staraptor but he was better than unfezant and pidgeott for the most part. Talonflame was a super gutsy bird, my favourite of its battles was teaming up with Frogadier against the Meowstic duo, but it got quite a few epic battles.

The way the XY-XY&Z series animated Talonflame battle made my friend a fan. That's why he was overjoyed it became the first bird mon available in Scarlet/Violet. He became his first non-starter starter mon throughout his gameplay, up to clearing Indigo Disk. His all avian themed mon.

I feel Ash’s Kalos team truly cares for and respects Talonflame after all she’s been through. I was suprised to see how she evolved into Fletchender, and defeated her final evolution, also the evolution into Talonflame was kinda similar. It was also suprising to hear how she managed to beat Trevor’s Charmeleon. If anything I think Talonflame and Haluncha are kinda like parents to Noibat, the must be both proud and surprised that he grew into such a beast.
I always liked the flying trifecta in XY, very wholesome :)

Talonflame is my favorite flying type and my 6th fav pokemon of all and I'm glad XY did a great representation of this mon during gen 6 the hard worker of this team that made the battles easy to finish .

I'm actually working on writing that one right now. It's got kind of a haphazard and doesn't bond with Ash as much as it does Rowlet so I put it off for a while. Should be a fun one tho!

My Talonflame was the first pokemon on my X team to reach high friendship and stick it out in battle. Ever since then it's been my favorite regional bird. I love how Ash's Talonflame was so prolific in his journey and put in the work in all it's battles. The fact that it was so desperate to save Ash that it evolved made me cry. It's such a great pokemon and one of the best Ash has ever had.

Talonfame, is my favorite fire and fly pokemon is the best and stronger.
Ash's 2nd best/strongest bird, in my opinion, behind Swellow! And my 3rd favorite, adding Hawlucha between him and Swellow. Such a great team player and personality. It's gym battles and final evolution, like Swellow, were memorable. However, I wish its league battles were a bit memorable. It had one sort-of epic draw against Unfezant, ironically, but... I wish it could have been a beast like Swellow was. Still, it was a great bird and addition to Ash's team, and had memorable friendships with the XY Gang.
Swellow deserved 3rd evolution
Talonflame is deffo stronger than Swellow though. Talonflame has done more to the overall Gym/League run than Swellow has ever done in Hoenn (This despite Greninja being a thing). Talonflame is so strong, it didn't even get recoil from Brave Bird.
Fletchling and Noctowl will always be my favorites and i would pick them in my team. Taillow is the strongest (in Ash’s team) but those two had that intriguing vibes and memorable. They’re not just flying types, Talonflame can use fire type moves while Noctowl had psychic.
I like throwing your videos on while i play rom hacks. Your poké professor persona is enjoyable for long play sessions where i have time to just relax and play
Yes, talonflame is great, even brick bronze, even though I had Greninja in my first save, I used it as if it was my ace, I fought a lot of battles, I had 8 fitness in 8 gyms, even though I had frogadier in the Volkan gym, I only used Fletchinder with all the trainers and the leader, everyone should get an exp on frogadier. I threw it to Charmeleon, I was so stupid that I threw it to the leader to beat Noibat in the 7m Gym, but Noibat saw the other pokemons with Whirlwind, then I threw Talonflame, I fought with him, maybe I used a pokemon or two, and he tanked Brave Bird, and despite my stupidity, he turned the match and at the end of the match, he fought with his own Brave. He learned bird, then I kept using him in the last Roria League version, he won even in the Electric Gym, he won the Grass Gym for free, in Victory Road, even though I wanted to save my max revive in one of the last remaining men, there was only one Pokemon left and I used it on him, Talonflame turned the match in Elite Four. It worked, unfortunately the champion didn't work either, I replaced him with Heatran, but I still thought it was unfair that he wasn't in the Hall of Hame and I made a victory speech with him from the PC along with a couple of my Pokemon, he did a lot of work on my way to the championship, he was a complete ace in my first save, they both evolved at the same time as Greninja. He either played the same number of matches or he might even have played more matches than Greninja.

Ah Talonflame, it’s a shame he suffered the same side effect most regional birds Ash caught had, losing their personalities as they evolved but I’ll always love this absolute juggernaut for being in so many battles and always putting on a good show. Plus you gotta love the English voice acting for Talonflame.

Thanks for doing Ash's Talonflame. I hope his Noivern's next. I wish Talonflame had learned Fire Blast so it would have Fire Blast, Flame Charge, Steel Wing & Brave Bird. If the XY writers had ash battle Articuno with Talonflame, it could've been the only pokemon that Ash has that battled all 3 kanto legendary birds.

Ash's archetypical regional bird tend to be on the more simpler side, as most of them share few specific characteristics:
- They are caught early on into the journey, often as the first or one of the first captures of the region, so they get lot of screen time early on as the only other pokemon in the party usually are Pikachu and maybe another third pokemon
- Their main role across all of Ash's journeys has been that utility scout that is very befitting to the hiking setting most seasons utilized - and they also serve as this sort of *_reliable jack-of-all trades trooper / tool (not in a derogatory manner)_* he can use whenever he needs to - the regional bird fulfills his purpose to Ash and that's all they're asked to do - he has never had a particularly deep bond with any of the regional birds, perhaps outside of Pidgeot and Talonflame
- they evolve to their final form usually fastest and evolve as the first pokemon in Ash's party, they reach their peak early on into the journey and than become a tertiary character - Noctowl is the odd one out in multiple ways

Look, and this is why Talonflame is the Kalos ace. It has had the most impact on the overall gym and league run and all of it without a power-up.

@@christ5431 Greninja actually fought only 4 gym leaders (Skipped Gym 1, gym 3, gym 5 and gym 6).
Talonflame also faced Mega Evolution and didn't need a power-up..
Ergo: Talonflame is the ace, cuz fought in more gyms, didn't go down in the league without taking another mon with it, faced legendaries and Mega's.

It's been a while since I saw Pokemon XY. This video made me realize how in this series, Ash has a lot of flying type pokemon.

I just realized now that two of his flying type in kalos evolved while fighting 2 legendary birds
If Hawlucha could evolve, I'm positive it would have been fighting Articuno
Hawlucha has no evolvion it a single stage but I’m still surprised that both Moltries and Zapdos appeared I’m X and Y but not a Articuno.
