We present to you Quilava. The only one of Ash’s Fire Starter Pokémon that came to the team without deep Trauma. Seriously weird how all of Ash’s other Frie Starters had some form of trauma, with Charmander and Tepig both being Abandonded by a trainer (and left for dead) after thinking it was too weak, and proving that trainer completely wrong. Chimchar having similar back story of being abandoned (this time by the main rival Paul) asp not quite being left for dead as much as the other two, but suffering from Trauma based on the way it was treated under Paul and this time for being unable to control its “true” strength, and not showing off the strength it gained under Ash until the Sinnoh League. And Ash’s Incinaroar having lost its father figure of Stoutland before joining Ash. Meanwhile Cyndaquil was just chilling before the hunter came out, but Ash caught Cyndaquil before any major mental damage could be done.
The anime in the beginning constantly fought itself on how much of an underdog Ash should be, and this extended to his Pokemon, being mostly unevolved. There were several moments where Cyndaquil should've evolved, like during the gym battle with Jasmine. In fact, none of Ash's Pokemon evolved during Johto except Chikorita.
Pretty underatted, it tied with armaldo which took out staraptor. I think that's worth some praise, evolution was certainly a surprise that caught me off guard first time
I think Ash's Quillava is the reason why I ended up liking it out of all the Johto starters. I never got to use one properly because I didn't get to play the Johto games but I was given one in my Diamond game thanks to my favorite Jesse and I had fun using it and leveling it up and battled with it. I'm not sure if Quillava will evolve into Hisuian Typhion because well I don't know.
It seems to me like they have a pretty bad habit of having fire type starters evolve extremely late: first was May's Blaziken, which really should've evolved sooner, being her most used Pokemon by far, it easily could've sooner. After that was Quilava, which was detailed in this video, but because of both how late it evolved and there being more focus on Ash's other Pokemon he owned, it barely got any screentime, which makes me feel like it's evolution wasn't that important to the story overall. Most recently was Ash's Incineroar, which had fainted upon evolving, and since it has literally gotten to do nothing since then, it makes me feel like it has the most wasted potential out of all 3 of them. Granted, it could be argued that all 3 have wasted potential, but I think that's all the more reason why they should've had those Pokemon all evolve sooner than they did, since Quilava and Blaziken barely got to do much more than Incineroar, unfortunately. It's a real shame, too, because they could've done more with them if they got the chance to be shown off more after they each evolved, and that would have made their evolutions feel more meaningful, not just to myself, but to many other people watching the anime, too
I felt like totodile should have evolved then at the very least he would have had a complete set of johto starters evolved at least to their second stage.
Cyndiquil is an underrated pokemon since all these new starters. Should of evolved sooner. Would of been cool if it had the same story time to evolve to typhlosion like Infernape, and Charizard.

It would be neat to see a hisuian variant Pokemon appear in the series, as promotion to legends of arceus. Plus hisuian typhlosion would help Quilava stand out of charizard's shadow, given Charizard is the top Pokemon of Ash's fire types.
You know you're right, if Ash's Rowlett never ate that Everstone and evolve only once into a Dartrix and the same goes for his Oshawott into Dewott. Then Ash would've brought all 3 of his Legends Arceus Starters without him catching another Rowlett. And who knows, maybe all 3 could evolve into the Final Hisuian Forms. ... But of course, it was just another L for Journeys.
Because Cyndaquil evolved years after its original series, a part of me is hopeful for one last evolution in these final few episodes with Ash, since he's rotating all his past Pokémon.
Now that you have done Ash's Quilava, maybe now you could tackle Dawn's Quilava? Also, how would Ash evolve his Quilava into a Hisuian Typhlosion in the modern-day Pokemon world? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, Professor. Have any special videos for us today?
Unfortunately not, but a new video today! Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's day
You know you're right, if Ash's Rowlett never ate that Everstone and evolve only once into a Dartrix and the same goes for his Oshawott into Dewott. Then Ash would've brought all 3 of his Legends Arceus Starters without him catching another Rowlett. And who knows, maybe all 3 could evolve into the Final Hisuian Forms. ... But of course, it was just another L for Journeys.
Cyndaquil evolving into Quilava in the sinnoh region where legend arceus takes place hinted us about that
@@yadielquesada5782 Honestly looking back now, I think I changed my mind, I'm giving Ash will be getting the starters final forms normally.
Saulracing: Cyndaquil became a powerhouse by evolving into Quilava?
No way!
Great video. Happy seeing this on my 30th birthday
Happy birthday!!! I turn 30 this year as well 😤😤
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Thank you! That's great 😁👍🏿
Because Cyndaquil evolved years after its original series, a part of me is hopeful for one last evolution in these final few episodes with Ash, since he's rotating all his past Pokémon.
That'd be dope!
Personally I can see quilava becoming the hisuian typhlosion while Paul’s ursuring becoming ursaluna to keep up their rivalry so to speak
At least Ash is rotating all of his reverses now that’s awesome
Personally, I think Cyndaquil should have evolved in the hidden oasis episode. There was enough buildup to pull it off
Now that you have done Ash's Quilava, maybe now you could tackle Dawn's Quilava? Also, how would Ash evolve his Quilava into a Hisuian Typhlosion in the modern-day Pokemon world? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
Your like The Bill Nye The Science Guy of Pokémon
Haha thanks!!
Darn, late to class! Always think of the mon as the little Cyndaquill
Here's a Topic Video to do Professor.
Goh's Ultimate Team for catching Mew. If Goh is gonna go and try and attempt to try catch Mew again than he's gonna need team compose of his most powerful Pokémon to take Mew on with.
If I do an ultimate team video, I hope I remember the purpose you suggested. That's an awesome idea!!
I’d love to see a video of your opinion of Ash leaving the anime! I’m not sure of it fits your content style, but maybe something on Ash or videos on the new trainer’s Pokémon after the new series plays?
I still say Ash's Cyndaquil should've evolved vs Jasmine's Steelix. Happy that it evolved. But man looking back it would've been neat.
Awesome video professor 😁
Thanks! 😃
Do May's skitty, Dawn's Ambipom or Pachirisu next
Saulracing: Now Quilava is a walking stomping volcano
We' love your vids keep up the great work
