Although I think I know all the basic things I really enjoy looking these tutorial videos! And the way you do so, putting all the needed materials together, presenting them right in the beginning. Helps a lot for very new players. The best layout to deal with and how things work, good job !
There is always the option to hold right-click on the quern, press Alt+Tab and use the time to brew another tea and use the toilet. But it's good to have options ;)

Dracs, I have not yet crafted a chisel. I just got my first iron ingots, do you think I should use one for a chisel or is it not that important for the chisel to be a higher quality metal?
The higher quality, the longer it will last, no matter what tool. I think if you are planning on doing a lot of chiseling, it would be nice to have a high tier.
so I know this is an old vid and all but I am having trouble replicating, even with 4 windmills I can barely power one helve hammer and it is so slow. I basically at sea level so I made it as tall as I could. Is it just a situation that there isnt a lot of wind where I am?
Height will increase your speed for sure. Some areas are "more" windy. You have found the "no wind zone" maybe? I am sure you have read the part of the wiki about height. If not give it a look. My other suggestion would be to take some wind readings around your base. Walk a 50 or 100 blocks and see if the wind is better. Sorry 😞
its all good just strange. the height of the windmill is at 150 so well above 120 so it should have a ok boost from that but I think I am just in a dead wind area unfortunately. Its a shame that my 4 sets of windmill sails can barely power a single helve hammer. @@dracsfantastic

What I struggle to understand isn't the windmill, it's the gears. I mean the idea is simple, but the blocks don't do what I want

After playing for 16 hours, I'm basically starving to death in the dark. I can't imagine getting to this stage of the game. Lol.

to clarify each windmill is having 4-8% energy output.
