I have a 2024 sonata @ 20,000 miles, I bought it new, I love it! 20k mi is no feat, I expect it to run to 150k without issues. The engine is direct injection so maintenance is extremely important. I follow the owners manual service schedule except do 5000 mi intervals for oil changes instead of 7500. I'm aware of Hyundai's reputation for poor quality; Hyundai's modern cars dont seem that way under the hood, but I can see how gdi can scare away some people. I love that its still a regular automatic rather than the new cvts, which is one reason why I bought it. My goal is to get my car to 500k miles! Only time will tell. This is one of my favorite car designs of all time, tying with the 1994 impala ss and the 1991 honda accord. I LOVE long and comfortable sedans
Sonata looks ways better exterior. If you care about value after 5 yrs, then you pay upfront more for Toyota is the same thing after all! So, both would be a draw, but I’m slightly more on Sonata.
Toyota you just royally hosed yourself into a corner with hybrid only on the Camry. I am not wrong about this. I owned a 2007 Camry Hybrid and loved it, until the electric motor and battery quit. It's extra junk we don't need or want. Fine for the first time buyers who want to pay $40k to save $2k in gas, but us newer used shoppers DO NOT WANT THAT AGING TIME BOMB JUNK.
Toyota has become so lazy that they rub the 80th body as a new generation. It's just a restyling. The carcass, the shape of the doors, the glass are the same. The Japanese just changed the attachments (headlights, bumper, hood). That's it. Sonata is way futuristic, cheaper, and Hyundai has the best warranty in the US +nationwide. That's if you have to choose between these 2 asian buckets. It would be better to add some money and buy European car for pleasure.

The Sanota is so clean and modern looking
Sonata N Line is the pick. Better interior and performance!
Let's be real, the Sonata Wins on all 3 Verdicts, but people can buy whatever they want.
Hyundai is underrated. It is much better than what people imagine
