      @@skypittman9303 I have an uncle with a few really sweet classic trucks he has restored, well paid to have someone else restore, and all he does is wash them and limp them to a few car shows each year. I doubt he has put 1000 miles on them together in 10 years. Such a waste of money to let them sit in his shed until he decides to wash them and drive them a few miles to a local car show. His 55 F-100 probably has a $10,000 paint job and he will most likely rub the paint off with a wash mitt before he gets his first actual bug splatter on it LOL

I watch this young man and you just don't see this confidence and understanding and knack for handing tools and bolts. He eye for seeing how things work ang go together is something we share. This couple is so heartwarming to watch and see. Thank You for sharing and helping this old man re-live his old cars days, Buying a 47 Chevy Coupe for $35 that would not go into 2nd or 3rd, but in 15 minutes I found the shift linkage was out of adjustment and I fixed that and went for drive hitting all 3 gears laughing out loud all by myself. Then spend all my saving in swapping in a 371 Olds V8. D

    Hey, thanks for updating us from your deathbed!
    For future reference, to actually properly get rid of rat/mouse/cat urine you *need* an Enzyme cleaner.
    Method and reasons below:
    When cat and rat urine dries out it forms a horrible crystal that reforms when exposed to moisture, that's why most people can't get the smell out. And if it smells then it is not clean.
    Without an enzyme cleaner to break down and denature those crystals the smell (and bacteria/virus) will keep on kicking and rehydrating every time it rains or gets humid. Or most disgustingly; *when you clean it*.
    Buy an industrial assload of enzyme cleaner and apply it until everything is absolutely sodden, then cover it with garbage bags to keep the moisture in. That way it actively dissolves the mess and makes it safe to clean.
    Once it's sat for a few hours or overnight wet vac it out and it'll never give you asbestosis and lung herpies again, nor Fish, JD or Jess.
    Obviously only do this for vehicles you want to do it for, but goodness knows taking time off sick makes your employers unreasonably angry and vengeful.
    Safe junking and here's hoping you have a full recovery, or at least get cool new superpowers instead of tuberculosis

    • @joannaatkins822
      @joannaatkins822 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also for seatbelts; unbolt them, drop them in a bucket of water and enzyme cleaner. Leave for 15 minutes, rinse with the hose and job done.
      No more disgusting rat piss

    My parents were NOT car people and I’m an only child. I would have LOVED the chance to work on one of my Dad’s cars he let sit in our garage for two years if I knew what to do. I did pick up some knowledge and worked on my own cars after high school for about 15 years - basic things no harder than turning rotors. I love that JD is learning how to do it as a young man. Kudos!
