How curious! I went 100% carnivore in late January if this year, 2021, and discivered on my own, my COPD symptoms are all but gone. I used to rely on two daily inhalers. Now? Seldom even find myself reaching for the rescue one.
I'm so glad you have found bona fide research supporting this theory. I eat beef, eggs, butter and water ONLY, 2mad and I'm fit as a fiddle at 73 years young!

My wife has had asthma since childhood, often needing an inhaler. In 2007 she was involved in a serious car accident that left her with a 40% loss on one lung, now on a daily inhaler and frequently a rescue inhaler. She was on several meds including gabapentin. Just doing one flight of stairs was difficult. When she witnessed my health improvements with my RA and another autoimmune disease with Keto she secretly began Keto. In 2 months she was off all meds including her inhalers. Since her car accident her annual lung function test showed at best holding her own, but a decline in performance was typical. Just 6 months after she began Keto her annual lung function test was due, and she showed a 16% improvement, and that was while off her inhaler. Her respirologist had never seen diet improve anyone's respiratory condition. She's been doing all day mountain hikes with me now, and the smoke from our annual forest fires no longer bother her. 2 years after Keto was her next lung function test, a 30% improvement!

I have COPD. I started keto about a month ago. I've seen a significant improvement in my symptoms. My friend has a very steep hill leading to her front door. I climbed it yesterday for the first time since keto OMG!! I climbed the hill in one go. I was very slightly breathless. Before keto, I had to stop twice on the way up the hill and by the time I reached the top I was very breathless..almost to the point of passing out. My theoretical understanding of keto is now proving itself in the real world. And I've lost 15 pounds. KETO 👍👍
    EDIT 1 year later:
A *drastic* improvement in my COPD. I can walk for *MILES* without getting breathless. (Also lost 70 1lb of fat).

I have early COPD, but yeah. This year has been bad as I was constantly sick and always coughing. Eventually antibiotics came into play as the fluid build up got infected. Doc gave me an inhaler and also some pills to help dry things up at night. Prior to, I had been taking Benadryl to reduce the night time choking, basically.
The round of antibiotics did their job but I was still coughing tremendously. I got my blood panel back and WhoA super duper diabetic. I knew what to do. I threw myself into ketogenesis and as soon as I was at that point, the night time coughing stopped and I set the meds aside. Within a week all my coughing was gone even though it has taken longer to bring my blood sugar down. One of the symptoms of diabetes is a particular type of fluid build up in the lungs. The sputum from this has a distinct signature. I wasn’t sick from the COPD as much as I was from the diabetes! The fluid reduction in the very beginning did the trick.
I’m on carnivore and I’m staying on it!

I was recently hospitalised due to an asthma attack, and when I told the lung doctor that sugary foods are one of the things which exacerbate my asthma, she pretty much dismissed the possibility. She gave me a stronger inhaler but it was too harsh on my lungs, so I have gone back to using my less powerful one.
As someone who suffers from chronic inflammation, the greatest exacerbation, and indeed, what I believe to be the main cause, is a lifelong terrible sleeping pattern. Whenever I sleep poorly or work nights my symptoms (which include nasal polyps) are greatly worsened, and whenever I sleep good or work days my symptoms greatly improve. Hopefully, healthy sleep, keto, and intermittent fasting can resolve my ailments and get me off the inhalers...

This is great timing! I found this out for myself this summer. I had elevated liver enzymes in January and, in fact, was referred to a specialist. On my own (after seeing some of your videos) I started a low-carb/high protein and fat diet. My LE improved a great deal and I lost 25 lbs. But another benefit was that my adult-onset asthma (I am 62) improved immensely! I no longer had coughing or difficulty breathing. It was great! I had to hike 3 miles for my son's wedding and was able to do so with no real problem! But they are vegan and so my diet changed drastically for a week. I began to notice the breathing problems come back slowly and weight on the stomach start creeping back. So I realized it was my "keto" diet that had made the difference.
When I first had elevated LE, the doctor gave me information on a diet quite different than the one I learned from you. I went with the keto-type diet instead and it was the right decision for me! THANKS!

  • @splatterdaynightmares
    @splatterdaynightmares 3 ปีที่แล้ว +55

Nope. My doctor believes that meds fix all and losing weight is "eating 1200 calories in moderation and mostly carbs" which is one reason why I want to get to my goal before seeing her again. While I still get asthma attacks because of my allergies to my cats and the fires that forever burn here in California, after being mostly carnivore I no longer need steroids for my asthma and I only replace my emergency inhaler once every couple of months instead of twice per month. Vitamin D3 seems to help as well. The daily inhaler was raising my blood sugar, which she doesn't believe either. It's good to be in the know.

I could not even take stairs up 1 floor … now i can go up much more. I am going to try frequent fasts next step. Read that many 3-day fast could trigger stem cells. Gives me hope to try to get better. Also taking lately anatto (tocotrienols) and looking at ways to help mithochondria. Thank you for this message it is what inthpught from blind experience. This is good information. MY partner has COPD but got it from Pulmonary embolism lung scarring. He has about 50% lung capacity. He didn't get COPD from inflammation by smoking but he was a high carb guy before we started intermittent fasting and now the carnivore diet so his inflammation is reducing. I would love to see him be able to live longer before the COPD gets progressively worse.

Also get some lung cleansing not saying what, thank God I was a nurse in Holland now on pension. I gonna order the supplements and start to do the keto diet. Low carb diet. Here in Portugal they only take ct scan and bronchoscopies and that is it I have 3 inhalers daily and cortisonen and prednison once in the two months. Not the greatest of tastes. I know you are talking about the root, but I sort of stumbled on to how the tops effect a person. Or myself anyways. I will be clipping my tops either today or tomorrow as it is my way of hiding the root from ginseng hunters. August 1 being first day of ginseng season here in my part of Arkansas. Thanks!

It would also help if they quit smoking.. my husband has it and is smoking 🚬 more now since being diagnosed. He says he wants to enjoy his life while he can. Same with his alcohol consumption. 🍸
And he refuses to change his diet. All his food is carbs and a lot. It's so sad.

I have AVNRT and have symptoms all the time, but since I have been eating low carbs my symptoms have gone away. I hope the symptoms stay gone!

also add T"he Breather" to your regime. A wonderful gadget that will help with just about all lung issues. I started using this after contracting c ovid due to my lungs not getting enough oxygen to them. so far i am on day 4 and my breathing has gotten a bit better. will know more as the weeks go on.
