Good for you Sue. Love that you are working to keep your brain sharp. I hate the saying, "Can't teach an old🐕 new tricks". I say excuses, excuses, they're like A-holes, we all have'em and they all stink! We should all try to continue learning no matter the age. God bless you 😘

I'm literally crying how do people make whole outfits out of this? I've been trying to learn for 3 years!!!!!
Edit: I give up. I'll donate all my stuff I cant do this. This is so painfully confusing
Edit 2: I figured it out and now I have my own little business of selling crocheted bees! Please enjoy my rollercoaster of emotions Edit 3 HOLY COW THATS A LOT OF LIKES! Thank y’all! Crocheting is still going strong.

Ha ha ha I love the whole journey! But I'm glad that you figured it out! I just started yesterday and I'm getting very frustrated. My grandmother has been crocheting for years and she tried to help me, but video chatting just isn't the same. But seeing something like this is reassuring. I'm gonna keep going and keep learning.

For all the people getting frustrated: I got stuck on the first row for MONTHS; I could do the first basic stitch but when it came to making the second row, I just kept getting stuck. Today, I gave it another shot and I finally managed to overcome that burden and now I'm on the way to my first actual project! Keep trying :)

Today is the first time i went to my grandma’s house since she died over two years ago. I was totally overwhelmed by nostalgia and grief and love all mixed together. I found her old knitting basket and inside was a project that I had started with her over 20 years ago (a pot holder lol) that I abandoned because it was too hard for me. She saved my little scrap of messy yarn all these years 🥺❤️ I feel a longing in me to try it again in her honour and I have to say, this video was WONDERFUL! Perfect pace, easy to follow, and it touched my heart that you added in a tip from your own grandma about threading the needle ❤️ thank you so much for your time and guidance

Despite how old this video is, I am extremely thankful for it. It covers so many of the problems of what I am doing wrong as a beginner crochet crafter. Thank you for being so basic and simple in your video. My mother in law tried showing me how to crochet, but never expressed something as simple as rotating the hook. I will be attempting this tomorrow but I am going to watch this video a few times before I do. I have learning difficulties, so I am extremely grateful 🙏 for this video. Keep teaching in such a patient and kind way. Thank you.

Honestly I wasn’t a complete expert in crochet, but I knew how to chain before this video. So this was an incredibly big help for me! If your struggling then I’ll explain what you’ll have to do!
1.Learn how to chain in a different video.(if you have a friend who crochets then I would reccomend asking them for help)
2.figure out what hand position works best for you. ( it doesn’t have to be a popular hold.) Like I hold my yarn completely different then any of the videos I’ve watched)
    3. Now you watch this video and learn a single stich! If you have a friend who crochets, then ask them for help! ( having a imperson teacher is much more helpful!)
    PLEASE KEEP TRYING TO CROCHET!!!!
    I’ll give you my updates
Week 1:I learned how to chain and I like two different hand positions.
Week 2: I’m struggling with how to chain neatly but I’m able to move my my hand in a comfortable position!!
Week 3: IM working on single stitch. My friend is also helping me!❤❤❤
Week 4: I CAN SINGLE CROCHET!
    Week 5: COMING SOON

Hand quilting takes forever but I love it. Now I need a challenge. I have been idle that is dangerous for me and my family. I have tried everything to learn this. I am telling you that from the moment I turned your tutorial on I learned that the back of the yarn tells me what needle to use! Your the 1st that showed this. I am so happy. Do you knit? I will do crocheting for a year or so master it then try knitting. I heard there is a ton of different stitches with crocheting. I want to thank you and so does my husband. Hands down best video to learn. Thank you so much for posting. I’ve been watching other videos all week and couldn’t make a single chain lol I just made so many watching this, so easily. there is a crucial step you verbally explain that other videos do not- when you are going to yarn over, you have to flip the hook down before you pull it through, which I was skipping completely, so it just kept twisting and not making the connection. So I finally did it. Onto the next step. Thank you!

For people who are really stuck, I recommend first trying a bit of finger crocheting (All it is when you create the first loop to start your project, instead of putting your hook in there, instead use your fingers to grab on to the next piece of yarn). It's much easier and it will help you get the hang of crocheting with a hook.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I love the way you explain things so clearly, each time I had a question it’s like you could read my mind and answered it a moment later. I appreciate the slowness, I watched a few tutorials before this and was very frustrated but now I’ve got a scarf started and even though it’s messy I’m having fun!!

I’m so grateful to you for doing this video! I had to rewatch it several times to finally get it, but you explained it so well. I had given up learning how to crochet... but thanks to you... I’m at it again. 💕

I´ve been crocheting for a couple of months, watching every video I can find for technique, and I´ve even done a few projects. However, I always had questions and everyone goes too fast or neglects some simple thing and I end up with something funky. This is the BEST video for beginners ever!!! My problem was with the first row, never knowing where exactly to put the hook, so I was going through only the top of the stitch. I could see how it had to go through at the V and catch two stitches. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

For the past few days I've been having difficulty learning how to crochet but then I found this video and now I'm three-forths into my first crochet project. Thank you very much. 😍

I'm 14 currently having back problems so I can't do anything and I've been wanting to lear this for so long but I couldn't find anything that works and thus has helped me a lot.

Finally, I am able to do it. I have to use the terms you are using on here. Then, I gradually use the terms for crocheting. Thank you, so much.

I started learning this when I was in 3rd grade, for some weird reason my teacher started teaching us how to crochet 😂 I absolutely loved it though but I haven’t done it since then , which was about 8 years ago but quarantine boredom has driven me back to it lol 😆, I remember everything she’s talking about here 🤗

Thank you!! I almost gave up trying to crochet. The tutorials I kept watching weren’t clear enough. But then I came across this tutorial. Out of all of the ones that I have watched, this has been the best one…and now, I am well into my first project! Once you get the hang of this, it is so therapeutic. So don’t quit!
