- The African leaders peace mission to Ukraine and Russia has ended with no concrete commitment from either side to end the war. A diplomatic row in Poland also affected the visit where President Ramaphosa’s security detail and invited journalists were stranded during the talks.
Cyril is just diverting attention from his own shenanigans ...watch this space...probably got another stash in his mattress!

In terms of international relations this was a great move for the African Union. We can’t ignore South Africa’s participation in international affairs. Yes you may be frustrated about load shedding but if other nations support what cupcake is saying it can put pressure to open up the Black Sea which will make bread and other food cheaper for everyone. Dealing with national and international problems is complex because every problem is important but as a leader You can’t let one issue blind you from addressing other issues.

It is clear that some people will always have something to complain about - complaints of which seem to be rooted in politics , and to some degree - race. however, it's essential as country that we maintain international presence, SA doesn't exist in isolation. Like other nations, South Africa must balance internal struggles with international commitments and interests. While bound by treaties, the government has a duty to advocate for its own interests and should not blindly follow the actions of other countries - put simply, we can sympathises with Ukrain but not at our expense, equally we have a duty as a country to condemn russia's actions. Each nation has a unique context, and decisions should be made based on the specific needs, values, and aspirations of its people. While Constructive criticism and engagement are essential for a healthy democracy, the lens with which most people in the comments view this is myopic to say the least .

Of course this conflict will take much much more than one "visit" so late in the war. Both Ukraine and Russia are far from giving it up. No sign of a crack on either side. So one round of talks in the separate countries would never have solved anything.
1000 round trips are not going to work. Forget about peace ' this is a brutal WAR. And unless the illegal invader leaves Ukranian souvereign soil and borders ' there will be no peace deals

There was no issue with the paperwork for the journalists. Again, why were they not permitted to break free from the PPS and continue their work?
@@ravenblack7052 You're factually wrong. The media were invited by the government to accompany them, and were depending on the government to get all the documentation in order. The government didn't do so. So, shall we talk about reading for understanding again? Or would you like to go and read the reports properly this time around?
@@AdamSpenceVC I would recommend YOU take your own advice and reread the reports. The issue that the Polish authorities had was with the weapons being carried by the PPS. Not the individual journalists documents. So again: why were the journalists not permitted to travel to Ukraine without the PPS?
