@@dawk7 ive seen a dps who had a hotkey where he pointed out the swiftcast ability and with a message saying to heal them. Like they had a fucking macro for that and they died twice as a dps, i was also dps and barely took damage so clearly the guy wasnjust stupid.
Healer priority : -Myself -Tanks -The other healer (Scrolls below) -Red mages -Summonners ( Scrolls Way way below ) other dps. ( Some dps can buff the party so they have a sub priority like archers or dancers )
Also if I have to decide between the dps who was 2nd on the aggro list so far and done everything perfectly but died now to something unavoidable or between the one who dies for the 5th time, guess who is priority?
Actually (WHM main), I go with Myself, MT, healer 2, OT, red mage/summoners, dps and then dps which already have a death mark (unless it really was not your fault)
As a SMN I try to help healers where I can but I'm also bad with mechanics because I click my bar half the time and keyboard half the time. I usually run content with my bf who is SCH main and we play back to back. That way its easier for call outs (so I can try to pass a mechanic) and I can find out if he has someone or if someone has him on the rare chances he falls.
@Princessofthedrk Have you considered giving controller a try? It seems like doing a mix of click/kb/m might slow you down a lot, unless you have a gaming mouse, of course. I couldn't figure out a good way to play with kb/m that was comfortable for me, but expanded crossbars on controller opened a new door where I'm doing Savage.
I used to ask this same question until I finally unlocked Astrologian and started my healer journey, I feel bad for those who are dead but the truth is that if I or the tank dies we are going to wipe 😅. Those who ask this have never had a healer job because once you run aurum vale a couple times with people who dont eat the fruit and crystal tower with people dying to simple mechanics, suddenly that one pictomancer who keeps kissing the floor will have to wait till the end of the battle to have a rezz be sent their way 🤣. As an AST tho, I have to say that having lightspeed makes me not rethink so much if I want to rezz a DPS or not, and even if I have several attacks that do damage, I'll never do as much damage as a DPS while standing on a healer job. As a rule of thumb I have for myself: If I have time to DPS, I have time to rezz a DPS, if I dont have time to DPS, I dont have time to rezz a DPS.
As a Red Mage, can confirm. I spent half the battle getting my Black and White mana gauges to full so I can pummel the boss. I am NOT STOPPING THE PAIN TRAIN. Also as DPS that frequently goes down, especially during a fight I'm still learning, I'm fine being on the floor. Gives me a chance to catch up with the floor, ask how it's kids in other dungeons are doing over tea and cakes. The Floor has a life too, y'know.
If I’m dying frequently in a boss fight, I don’t mind the wait for a res. I’m not doing much dps anyway dying so much lol, but also gives me a chance to be a spectator for a minute and figure out mechanics without the stress of keeping myself alive
Honestly if more people knew that you're invulnerable to most attacks for a few seconds after being raised so long as you don't attack anything I would raise more people during high mechanic scenarios. As it stands people get raised, swing, then die.
I main dps, and mess around with tank and healer, but it throws me off every time someone gets revived and then immediately dies because they didn't wait for the heal, especially when it's a lvl 100 raid or dungeon.
Unfortunately it is mentioned nowhere that I seen. Not even on the raise spell itself. And it not like you can see the buff if you instantly swing, let alone read it.
Yeah this will happen a lot unfortunately. Sometimes healers (myself included) will get you up and then realize we're tapped and just sadly watch you go down again.
This is why every player should try playing a healer so they understand all the work we're actually doing. We only play DPS Healers when the battle goes smoothly. Once things start to fall apart, we're working harder than everyone else. Another thing, sometimes if a lot of people go down, our MP gets low and we need to wait for it to fill up before we can raise again. They ain't cheap to just pop out one after another. It's so funny, because everything you said in this video seems so obvious; and yet, unless someone has played a healer, they'll never understand. I really liked this video! I've subbed! Thank you!
1:24 If you see/hear that targeting arrow on you, I've committed. But that's 8 seconds. If something happens that forces me to move, sorry kiddo. I will, in most cases, do my damnedest, but I have to assess that risk every time I stop moving.
@@EverydayEorzean I think especially for Dungeons they should implement a party useable res that can be used once per boss fight (reset at wipe), just in case the healer gets smoked and your party doesn't have any resmages. Maybe make it inflict a damage down on the user or something, or take several seconds to cast. I dunno. That or remove resses from all dps, that would also balance it out :p (joking mostly)
It's funny you bring up this topic today, lol. I actually did something stupid in Algaia today and fell off during Rhlagar trying to gap close on SGE during the knock back. My WHM healing partner just kept Glaring and Glaring and Glaring. I think they went on for like 8 or 10 GCDs before our RDM picked me up (the RDM got my commend for that at the end). It is a little aggravating to see them tunneling DPS but that's the nature of the beast at times too, so ah well. As for playing Res chicken, as the WHM in the WHM / SCH comp of my savage group, I typically prioritize Raises first because, THIN AIR is a nice thing and it's so much easier for WHM to conserve their MP versus SCH, lol - random throw back to your Thin Air discussion from before. I do enjoy all the different outfits and accessories you do have for your avatar as a random segway, lol.
Possibly the WHM was intentionally waiting for the RDM to raise you - especially if their Swiftcast was down. It's far easier and efficient (for the entire party, no less) for the RDM to use a single dualcast to get you back up, than it is for the WHM to spend 8 seconds casting a rez. Sometimes the rez priority is on the RDM, but I get it, in most situations there won't be any voice chat to coordinate stuff like this, so people always assume the worst. 😥
I think my most recent, funny, "why havnt I been raised yet?" Moment was when I was leveling reaper a couple days ago and queued into Eden Leviathan. I ended up going down a little early in my accident because I didn't remember the fight and then. Proceeded to stay down for about half the fight Like I saw other dps (a caster of sorts) getting raised as well as a couple sprouts (one being the other healer) but my time was basically laying on the floor, giving people thumbs up, and watching my corpse fall when the platform I'm laying on was destroyed lmao I was literally down so long I got nervous and went into the chat like "hey I promise I'm not staying down to troll I literally havnt gotten a raise yet". Lo and behold just after the halfway mark of the boss, im rezed It was an interesting time
I won't rez ASAP because a lot of times the other healer beat me to it, losing my swiftcast, or I'm afraid that you or me is going to be hit by a mechanic or enemy as soon as i rez you. And the rez order usually is co-healer / tank... i usually not good enough to survive after a tank dies on me, even if I manage to pull the rez, so I don't really know what other priority exists after that.
I used to be way, way too eager to raise people. Like, I would always drop everything to do it immediately, make it priority one… only to lose too much focus on healing the people still up or mechanics still going on. Sorry to say it, but triage is a thing… and if you’re on the floor, you are at the very least not currently in danger.
These are the reasons I haven't raised you, in order: 1. My swiftcast is on cooldown. 2. I'm busy keeping everyone else alive. 3. I don't have the mana. 4. I have charges of Glare IV to spend.
There was one time when fighting Hegemone back when Abyssos first came out when I was playing White Mage and the other healer kept dying, as well as several of the DPS. The DPS started yelling at me in chat to rez them and not cast Glare III. However... I was saving my Swiftcasts and my Thin Airs for when the other Healer inevitably died again so I wasn't having to solo heal all the time and occasionally trying to rez DPS when I had both a Swiftcast and Thin Air together (however most of the time I was having to rez that other healer since they would not stop dying every two seconds so the DPS usually stayed dead). That and it wasn't worth rezzing them because they would just die again so my MP was better spent DPS-ing myself and keeping the tanks alive. Whenever I died (usually because I was having to keep up with way too many things at once during heavy mechanic phases) the entire party would immediately crumble. However one time the other healer actually managed to stay alive long enough to heal some people while I was dead and they got all the praise. xD
And this is why my raise macro is "Eos, you said you got this!" I swear I always have to raise because we had the understanding with my fairy that she will heal but she didn't... XD
Tank main here but also leveling up a couple melee dps and a white mage. I completely understand if it takes a while to raise me when I decide to spend some quality time with the floor. Healers have a lot to keep track of, and I’m still learning how to do that without being in a constant state of panic. Healer is still the most intimidating job for me.
It's intimidating but it's also super rewarding. You'll get there! For me it was all about learning how much my heals actually heal for and then using them wisely.
As a person who stared off as a ranged dps and then became a healer in heavensward and honestly I think that golden divine scroll of raise order just manifests in you after some time like you have become one with the gods of reviving and they bestow apon you the secrets of raising. Also there are those moments where some one just dies too much and you just feel either bad for that person or a bit of contempt and just throw you hands in the air and say "you know what just lie there for a second catch some Z's and let me get my my back". I know this is calling out my fc leader but there is a dungeon where a boss uses it's head as a hammer of sorts and it pushes you and you can fall off the map and I counted 14 times that my fc leader fell and they don't want to do dungeons without me since I'm the trusted and only healer of the fc at the time. Love this video and I agree with everything that is said here.
Depending on the content sometimes the extra dps I can squeeze will save an enrage on a phase of a fight. Sometimes me dropping below a certain mana threshold will prevent me from healing an upcoming mechanic or series of mechanics. Sometimes someone being dead will result in someone else being randomly hit twice by an aoe and if that person happens to be higher on the res priority like a healer then player A will stay dead for a bit longer. Sometimes healer utility is more important than the dps or tank utility and you have to heal raidwides or make sure mit is up etc. It's not always just that if you don't raise you're a bad healer.
I play all jobs and have a "main" for each category: melee dps - monk Caster dps - black mage Range dps - mechanist Tank - Dark Knight Healer - Scholar So when I die or dont heal properly its because I dont know the fight yet, but once I do I perform well.
Honestly I like taking some of the load off my healers when it comes to someone dying. I stick close to them and use my macro Rez on summoner so they can cast an easy aoe heal to maintain the flow.
That's me on RDM in alliance raids. that can be hard enough as it is, I queue there to help the healers. Even my macro says "You heal I'll be the rezmage"
Only time I deliberately didn’t rez a DRK in Doma Castle was: he was pulling huge, not using mitigation or self healing (this was back when Abyssal Drain only healed with Dark Arts), then blaming me, a SCH, for not keeping him alive despite blowing through everything I had to keep him up. He deliberately ran back into Grynewaht’s avoidable chainsaw attack, so I left him on the floor when he fell over from it. He got mad at the whole party, both DPS told him to shut up, and we left him in the dirt.
Reasons it takes me so long to rez people: - Swiftcast is on cooldown - Glare is not on cooldown - You have 1-2 stacks of weakness already and you can't assist rez - Swiftcast is on cooldown - I need to keep myself alive - You aren't high enough priority [and its day 1 Jeuno] - There are only 2 non-healer classes in the game that can assist rez and there's a 90 percent chance you aren't one of them - You died far enough away to be in another Country and the rest of us are over here not dying - Take your backstep skill of your action bar - I swiftcasted Holy because it does more damage than you - Swiftcast is on cooldown - I rescued you and you still lunged back at the enemy and died - I'm silenced / stunned / disoriented / mind-controlled / etc.etc. - If I rez you now, you will just accept it immediately and die in an unavoidable mechanic for the 18th time - Swiftcast is on cooldown - I'm a freaking white mage and you all still managed to suck my mana dry - Thin Air is on cooldown - Swiftcast is on cooldown - If you are really asking me this question then I think you need to play healer a bit and figure it out - It's snowing on Mt. Fuji - My Swiftcast is on cooldown.
i don't mind waiting so much. i do mind being raised and then dying to the next raidwide because no one healed me. i also mind when I'm the only rez mage and you raise every other dps before me. bonus points if you raise the same person multiple times before you get to me.
For someone who tried white mage, I'm a bit annoyed how long the casting time for raise. Come on dev's why, why you do you have to do that. I now understand why the healer jobs a bit long to raise, I mostly play DSP and I kinda feel bad for healers to raise me everytime. 😓 But I know it's part the healers job. AND why bother having Phoenix Down if you can't use it, at least make a one time used thing. Like the ring in ff9 with auto-life, the one time used in battle.
FYI - As a DPS main myself (Monk) - If you get that raise, you should be looking at the situation and if you know a mechanic is going to go off at about the time you would stand back up on the floor; you should WAIT to click okay, so you don't pop up and go straight back down again. Don't trust the few seconds 'grace period you get IF you don't move. Sometimes that server cheats OR you accidently move a bit and BOOM you're hit again. And that Healer priority list has other downed Healers and Tanks before you. The best thing you can do as a DPS is stay out of sh!t and learn/figure out how and when to use you own limited self healing and damage mitigation abilities to full effect, and don't expect the Healer to always save your ass. If it's between saving you and the Tank or you and another healer who's HP bar is near death, yeah, they come BEFORE DPS. We're expected to keep ourselves alive. 😁
It's not movement that stops the roughly 5 seconds of immunity, you can run around without worry. Just don't cast anything. And bear in mind that the immunity is for MOST damage, there are mechanics that go through it. Not a bad idea to just wait a few seconds for the mechanics to go away before getting up.
I've done the bulk of the content via NPC-instances due to playing Summoner for the longest amount of time, and I've simply come to appreciate Healers because of that. Every time I die, I need to redo the boss battle. So whenever I die on a player-instance trial/dungeon, I wait until I can hop back on, simple as. And as Summoner, sometimes I need to help a Healer out by using my swiftcast resurrect. I've begun to learn tank as a Warrior now, to see what are the pros and cons of the role. Oh, and to achieve a glam goal, of course.
Reason I, as healer main, am not reviving you, in this order: #1: Dealing with a nasty debuff on me, i.e. unable to perform actions #2: Lost line of sight/too far away (mostly due to a mech that separates the party) #3: MP low (usually the case after reviving multiple teammates, or if I just died and got revived, then revived one teammate) #4: Swiftcast is down #5: Enemy is very close to death #6: Too much incoming damage, or need to move for mechs; my first job is keeping myself and teammates alive, healing/saving is a higher priority than reviving #7: Not SMN or RDM, if you're a dps #8: You die too much (i.e. third death and already have 50% weakness) and are therefore not a priority #9: Waiting for LB3, if LB bar is close to filling up and many are dead #10: (Prog only) pull is hopeless and I'm only trying to see the next mechanic before I die, too
As healer, my job is to keep party alive and if someone dies, on first chance, even risky one, regardless if i have swiftcast or not, i *WILL* raise *ANY* downed player. So when it comes to the question, why healers dont raise? Its simple. Prioritizing DPS instead of being utility to the party just makes you a bad healer. End of story.
I just assume that as a DPS if the healer doesn't heal me within a few seconds then that just means they personally hate me and then spend the rest of my night crying as I contemplate the cruelty of mankind.
I've definitely been in the situation where I'm playing AST and see someone go down, figuring the WHM has it, but they didn't, so I had to drop a lightspeed and pick them up myself ^^; and yeah...higher priority is definitely going to others who can raise :P
The more you die the less I want to rez you. If I have to choose between healing the tank and rezzzing the dps, I’ll choose healing the tank 9.5 times out of 10. I’ll get to rezzing AFTER I deem it safe for my hp and mp to do
It only annoys me when everyone else is fine for hp and dealing with mechs and some healers just don't want to do a hard raise and lose dps, lose more dps by leaving a dps dead, especially a ninja
reason #whocares I'mma be real with you chief if the boss is at 10% or less and there's more dungeon ahead you're ressing at the home point I will not have you taking the dunce cap forward
I'll prioritize rezzing someone that I killed...by Rescuing them...intentionally...into death...unless of course the tank is down or the other healer has dropped as well. Okay, look, I promise I have my reasons. And I only ever "Rescue" DPS that are being naughty.
This is why you bring a Red Mage. We are unambiguously better at dispensing Rez's than any healer. Now recovering *after* that Rez... nooooot so much [Cries in lack of Piety Scaling[
swiftcast, i am not wasting 7-8 seconds ressing if its not a bunch of new players for content that is kinda tricky for first timers (thanks snapshot M4)
If it's new content I'm definitely up for hard cast raises. I mean I found myself on the floor more times than I'd like to admit last night trying the 24 man.
"Believe me I'm not ignoring you.". *whispers* "I would never" meanwhile me whispering back "I would definitely" lol jk jk i'm kind as a healer... i swear >.>, don't look at me like that.... i have my moments ok...... lol
I think some healers missed the memo on raise priority. I'm a smn main now, but I mained ast for like 6 years, so the res instinct is still strong in me. I typically start raising if a healer goes down or if they're struggling to pick people up, but I'm definitely guilty of _sometimes_ being a little impatient when it takes ages for a healer to res me if I accidentally bite it. Normally I get why it takes ages, because I've been yelled at for taking too long in the past; but why are you raising the _blm_ when most of the party, which includes a smn and/or rdm, are down??? Like, pick me up so I can help??? I want to clear this content just as much as you do. The number of times I've seen a fight go sideways because a healer has picked up a melee/blm over someone with raise. 😓 Unless it's a tank or the other healer, they can wait. I don't care if that mnk is your friend, leave them on the floor for a few more seconds so we can get recovery underway. Raise leapfrog is a wonderful thing.
I usually heal, but playing an unfamiliar dps I miss the mechanic and die. Usually if I'm eating floor a while, it's understandable but sometimes healers will leave me as long as a minute under stress free circumstances like I did it on purpose 🗿
I'm gonna be real to some of you who definitely knows that this is one of you, i won't prioritize rezzing you if you keep dying to the same mechanic you've seen 6 billion times lol
I dont tend to question how long it takes to raise, but I _do_ question when a healer raises another dps over a rdm or smn who could help with raising the others. Like... if I'm a bard, and you raise me first when there's a rdm and a samurai on the floor with me, literally what are you thinking? Lol
"Why haven't I raised you yet? Oh, that's easy. You complained about me "doing nothing" mere seconds after I swift-raised the poor first timer to this raid and has no clue what's going on despite their best efforts to keep up. Ignoring the fact that I've used Dia, a Lily, AND Tetra on other party members in that few second window (all of which are instant, so you won't see me pausing to cast them), while dodging a mechanic that REQUIRES me, and EVERYBODY ELSE, to move. Which you outright chose to NOT move for. And how do I know you chose not to? Because your primary gripe about me not immediately raising you and excuse of me "doing nothing" is because it's hurting your PARSE of all things. In fact, the other healer will have to raise you, because I now refuse." ...And I wish that wasn't a summary of a real event. Still angers me to think about. And it happened in the second alliance raid I ever did, which happened to be my second run of Copied Factory. Almost made me not bother with that content. Which would have been sad, because alliance raids ended up becoming the stuff I enjoy the most. Oh, and the heal priority stuff is easy! It's clearly 1&2) Tank/Other Rezzers. They're interchangeable, depending entirely on what's happening in the fight. 3) Everybody else. Though I guess you could split that into sub categories, into things like "Has no clue what's going on because they're new here", "Trying to do mechanics, but is just failing", "Tunnel visioned on accident", "Wrong button", "Died goofing off 'cause the fight's not really a challenge" and the sort. All of which is fine, no harm, sometimes its even funny, and will be gotten to as soon as able. And then there's the bottom of the list with things like "Has refused to do any mechanic because Uptime, despite dying every single time they do this", or like the above, just being an ass. We'll get to you... when we feel like it.
Honestly, from my experience, it's not really all that common even now. But I imagine just about everyone has run across that one person who just has to be rude. I think that one has simply stuck with me because I was both fairly new to the game at the time, and even newer to alliance raids. And I think it's the worst I've gotten. Most everything since has been far more laid back and chill. But, I suppose the whole topic of not being rude over damage trackers/ATC was a big topic at the time for a reason too.
I never feel entitled to raises (especially fast ones) because if I died I almost always did something stupid (except when I wasn't healed fast enough after a raise but what you're gonna do, no one's fault). But in one particular situation I felt like punching a healer lol First time at the Gilded Araya, SGE working like a horse, I died one time and this ridiculous WHM kept only evading mechanics, casting an occasional glare and doing stupid dance emotes at the boss. Not funny to be that obnoxious. As a sprout SMN though I'm guilty of trying to raise random ppl and end up dying myself, gotta work on that lol
Not exactly a healer main but I have all jobs lv100, if I don't raise someone it's either because hard rez takes too long unless I can stand idle for that long, or if they've died multiple times and fail to figure out why they keep dying, watch the attack patterns and learn the boss's rotation, all fights follow a pattern that repeats after all attacks get used at least once or twice. No point wasting MP on someone whose just going to die to the next attack because they didn't pay attention! As a DPS main that dies on occasion, ill wait and watch attacks going off before accepting a raise so I'm not raising into insta-death. Never expect to have Transcendence upon raising! You won't always be invulnerable for 5s after that raise! Anywho, rant over and getting back to the new MSQ.
@EverydayEorzean it was good! More questions than answers, but I'm looking forward to what's next! The new 24-man raid was also good, super healing intensive, and a ton of attack patterns to keep track of. 695 might be the minimum for entry, but I'd rather 720+ just for the increased HP. Our healers last night were having problems keeping up with incoming damage from stack markers. For reference, I was i718 on Viper and kept drying to the one of the tanks sniping me with their TB, and lack of healing after dmg from unavoidable raid-wide attacks.
@@Xine051 I got to do the 24 man last night!!! It was... rough. The deaths were ALL around, it will get better after everyone gets their first run under their belt... hopefully lol. We only had one wipe on the end fight, so I think we did pretty well overall.
@EverydayEorzean we had 1 or 2 wipes on first boss, no wipe on 2nd or 3rd bosses, then 3 wipes on last boss. Definitely will get better after people are able to start memorizing attack patterns but those stacks need some serious healing!
I mean, the only time ive ever gotten mad at a healer for not rezzing me is during a run of void ark where i didnt die through the entire raid until the final boss when the tanks didnt pull the adds apart fast enough and i got killed from the add's aoe. Me and one other person in my party were dead (other alliances were fine). The other person was rez'd and i just.. sat there. I didnt get rez'd til i said something in party chat, and by that time we were entering 2nd adds phase (well over 2 minutes later)..... the healers mp was also fine.. i was just dumbfounded..
I was actually in that fight not too long ago when I was leveling summoner. The healer indeed kept dying. I did a looooot of raising during that fight. It was the healer's first time there.🤓 I was leveling every job in the game, so I had fought all of those bosses several dozen times at least. I leveled the healers last, so I didn't have to worry about learning mechanics when it came time to heal everybody else.
Presence of mind?!?!? I'm a rpr main, but you're high if you think I'm raising during that. When I have the little white egg equipped, I'm a glare mage! But yeah if you aren't raised immediately 95% of the time it's because swiftcast is on cool down.
1. I swiftcasted for DPS 12 seconds ago, stop dying to the first mechanic. 2. I swiftcasted for DPS 12 seconds ago, stop dying to the third mechanic. 3. I just rezzed the other DPS that seems to be blissfully unaware of what a telegraph is. Bonus: 4. I swiftcasted for DPS 12 seconds ago, and I'm a glare mage so deal with it. (they don't say this, but I feel like this is what's happening when the WHM won't res people)
@@EverydayEorzean It's great, when you're not playing with 500 ping. Did it early in the day for the first time and it was great, replayed later with friends after work and it felt like we were connecting fron australia or something. Look man, I care about you being dead. If the hp bars aren't full the voices get loud again. But sometimes zurvan just decides you have to die and I gotta make due with what I got. Also I'm new to healing, leave me alone. Don't yell at me.
Had a few paladins yesterday convinced they did a better job with clemency than I did with all my heals. Didn't make sense to me cause they never went below 50% but yelled at me all the same. @@EverydayEorzean RDM rez and Dancer's Closed Position are two I've been chastized for. To quote another player: "My brother in Hydaelyn, we're in Prae...."
for me, when the DPS dies to the bad without dodging a single one even walking into it more than 5 times in a row, the raising to that DPS player STOPS completely, and it carries over to subsequent queues if i run into them again back to back on the very next queue pop. I will also prioritize the tank first (or co-healer if the tradeoff is the rest of the party living the upcoming mechanic or heal check), the red mage will always be 2nd to the tank if they raised at all during an encounter where their veraise is available. if i'm a red mage, then the rank always goes first unless a wipe is inevitable if the healer doesnt go first
I'll rez once the second they go down IF there is only one DPS currently dead. If they drop again, I'll wait a bit. If they drop a third time, it's going to take a LONG while. Especially if it's in the same fight.
this happened to me in m3 and m1: the PCT kept actively walking into the bad and dying on m3, after the 5th death with zero mechanic dodges since the pull started, i stopped raising them entirely. we clear, i queue for M1 immediately after and run into the same exact PCT again, they died early in the pull and i still did not res them the entire encounter
YOU DIED TOO MUCH. It Is literally annoying to rez you if you keep dying to the same bs. I rather just keep everyone up. Also sometimes the DPS just keeps wasting our LBs and not saving it for specific mechanics!
My one and only reason I'm not ressing you is that I don't have swiftcast and if you were worth hardcasting res you probably wouldn't be dead in the first place
Also sometimes I don’t rez you because both of us healers accidentally chose to rez the same player and now we’re both down a swiftcast

-Myself
-Tanks
-The other healer
(Scrolls below)
-Red mages
-Summonners
( Scrolls Way way below )
other dps.
That's pretty much my go to. Healer 2 and OT change depending on circumstances.
Aurum Vale. 😵💫
Yeah, although we can then burn three Vercure>Verraise immediately after so they at least get a good light show while they wait.
Same goes for Bahamut. That bad boy waits for no one, not delaying Bahamut for anyone. I'm happy to raise after...

@@Iceburn76 It's okay, it likes it :)
Me: "Why have you not raised me yet?"
Healer: "YOU'RE ADOPTED!"
This made me cackle out loud.
And it not like you can see the buff if you instantly swing, let alone read it.
i get raised, wait out the invulnerability timer, and die to the next raidwide anyway
Yeah this will happen a lot unfortunately. Sometimes healers (myself included) will get you up and then realize we're tapped and just sadly watch you go down again.
I tend to wait until after the high mechanic scenario is over to accept the rez, personally
Guys, guys, hear me out. The lala died to a perfectly natural cause, trust me.
I think everyone should try every role, you quickly learn why things go down they way they do
YES!
And as a RDM alt, I have straight-up told the homies "I have three full bursts ready. Y'all aren't allowed to die for 45 seconds." Sorry not sorry. XD
XD working as intended.
This is why Black Mage and Pictomancer need [Necromancy] and [Life Imitates Art]...
100%. Or some form of reraise item. I would LOVE for them to implement re-raise necklaces/pots or make phoenix feathers useable in more content.
If i raise someone and they waste their trancendent just to die to a raidwide immediately - you gon be in timeout
lol. Right?! That should probably be a PSA.....
Proceeded to stay down for about half the fight
Like I saw other dps (a caster of sorts) getting raised as well as a couple sprouts (one being the other healer) but my time was basically laying on the floor, giving people thumbs up, and watching my corpse fall when the platform I'm laying on was destroyed lmao
I was literally down so long I got nervous and went into the chat like "hey I promise I'm not staying down to troll I literally havnt gotten a raise yet". Lo and behold just after the halfway mark of the boss, im rezed
It was an interesting time
As a SGE, but mostly DRK and PCT main, it's usually because my swiftcast is already busy raising someone else or I'm the RDM and I'm out of mana.

Omg I am stealing that "If you're on the floor, you're in the least amount of danger"
These are the reasons I haven't raised you, in order:
XD
lol cute!
Weakness debuff, sometimes it’s better to rez on your own to not have that debuff for 2 min if the encounter is soon over.
Agreed, you with time and experience you definitely develop your own internal 'raise order'... that may or may not become jaded over a run XD.
Swift cast is on cool down. Tank that floor for a while.
I play all jobs and have a "main" for each category:
melee dps - monk
Caster dps - black mage
Range dps - mechanist
Tank - Dark Knight
Healer - Scholar
So when I die or dont heal properly its because I dont know the fight yet, but once I do I perform well.
LMAO!!!! i love this video. As a sage i vow to keep all healer confidential information private.
@lanah_tyra Depending on my mood my Rez message is either "Wakey Wakey eggs and GET UP!" or "Awaken my Master"
As healers, we love you. So much.
As a RDM/SGE main ..I agree with this list😂
Me as a DPS: SMN or RDM = rez me rez me rez me!
Me as anything else: Yeah, take your time. I'm sure you've got better things to do.
Reasons it takes me so long to rez people:
- Swiftcast is on cooldown
- Glare is not on cooldown
- You have 1-2 stacks of weakness already and you can't assist rez
- Swiftcast is on cooldown
- I need to keep myself alive
- You aren't high enough priority [and its day 1 Jeuno]
- There are only 2 non-healer classes in the game that can assist rez and there's a 90 percent chance you aren't one of them
- You died far enough away to be in another Country and the rest of us are over here not dying
- Take your backstep skill of your action bar
- I swiftcasted Holy because it does more damage than you
- Swiftcast is on cooldown
- I rescued you and you still lunged back at the enemy and died
- I'm silenced / stunned / disoriented / mind-controlled / etc.etc.
- If I rez you now, you will just accept it immediately and die in an unavoidable mechanic for the 18th time
- Swiftcast is on cooldown
- I'm a freaking white mage and you all still managed to suck my mana dry
- Thin Air is on cooldown
- Swiftcast is on cooldown
- If you are really asking me this question then I think you need to play healer a bit and figure it out
- It's snowing on Mt. Fuji
- My Swiftcast is on cooldown.
Sometimes I just like to let them simmer, reflect and sometimes I WANT them to complain... heheheah MUAHHAHA
Sometimes the floor needs the extra tanking time! 😅
i don't mind waiting so much. i do mind being raised and then dying to the next raidwide because no one healed me.

I would have raised you :(

@@JohnDCrafton oh no! I didn’t take it that way. No need for apologies. :)
I mean, you realize there's 5 sec immunity, stop pushing button like an ape and wait for that aoe
I would LOVE for DPS to have the ability to use Phoenix Feather during fights, that would be amazing.
Whaaaat? You went Warrior? That's like the best healer out there.
Reason I, as healer main, am not reviving you, in this order:
#1: Dealing with a nasty debuff on me, i.e. unable to perform actions
#2: Lost line of sight/too far away (mostly due to a mech that separates the party)
#3: MP low (usually the case after reviving multiple teammates, or if I just died and got revived, then revived one teammate)
#4: Swiftcast is down
#5: Enemy is very close to death
#6: Too much incoming damage, or need to move for mechs; my first job is keeping myself and teammates alive, healing/saving is a higher priority than reviving
#7: Not SMN or RDM, if you're a dps
#8: You die too much (i.e. third death and already have 50% weakness) and are therefore not a priority
#9: Waiting for LB3, if LB bar is close to filling up and many are dead
#10: (Prog only) pull is hopeless and I'm only trying to see the next mechanic before I die, too
As healer, my job is to keep party alive and if someone dies, on first chance, even risky one, regardless if i have swiftcast or not, i *WILL* raise *ANY* downed player.
As a DPS I don't care if the healer doesn't raise me right away. Go ahead, take your time, make the fight last that much longer.

I'm not raising you because I already did so 5 seconds ago, and 30, and last minute, and ...
Additional bonus reason: tank and a dps were busy covering platforms in mud and I only needed the tank. This is how you get called a bot.
lol Was this Arboretum?
:( well that's sucky. If it's your first death I think you should get a raise as soon as able.
I'm gonna be real to some of you who definitely knows that this is one of you, i won't prioritize rezzing you if you keep dying to the same mechanic you've seen 6 billion times lol
I just started healing with sage after starting five dps classes and and three tanks. If swiftcast is out your res is in queue
I feel like everyone should level at least 1 of each role.
I just wanna know why I haven't be raised yet...
...I'm the party tank, by the way.
Sorry bro, my swiftcast is still on cool from the last raise you got.
I dont tend to question how long it takes to raise, but I _do_ question when a healer raises another dps over a rdm or smn who could help with raising the others. Like... if I'm a bard, and you raise me first when there's a rdm and a samurai on the floor with me, literally what are you thinking? Lol
I would put money on panic raising. Specially if it's a 24-man or something and I haven't mentally clocked yet what my party comp is.
In fact, the other healer will have to raise you, because I now refuse."
...And I wish that wasn't a summary of a real event.
It's been a while since I've had someone comment on my healing, but reading through the comments, it seems like it's getting more and more common.
If I haven't Raised you yet, it's because you still need to learn that your life is in my hands.
If you keep dying again and again and again, at some point I'm going to make an executive decision that my MP is better spent on other pursuits.
I never feel entitled to raises (especially fast ones) because if I died I almost always did something stupid (except when I wasn't healed fast enough after a raise but what you're gonna do, no one's fault). But in one particular situation I felt like punching a healer lol
First time at the Gilded Araya, SGE working like a horse, I died one time and this ridiculous WHM kept only evading mechanics, casting an occasional glare and doing stupid dance emotes at the boss. Not funny to be that obnoxious.
As a sprout SMN though I'm guilty of trying to raise random ppl and end up dying myself, gotta work on that lol
XD You're trying to help. We still appreciate that. Regarding the situation though, that's just someone being an asshat :D.
Anywho, rant over and getting back to the new MSQ.
lol Enjoy the new MSQ! I
@EverydayEorzean it was good!
I rescue people into the bad and dont rez
Need to assert my dominance by doing more dps than a dps
:o I feel another video coming on.
:O Well that's not nice. I will sometimes let them stay down if I think they were afk or something.
If a dps dies twice while the first boss of Origenics is slamming puddles, I'm not raising them until he's done slamming from then on. 😉
What if a healer dies
I definitely agree with the 95% lol
(they don't say this, but I feel like this is what's happening when the WHM won't res people)
I just did the new 24 man.. I have bad news for you.
@@EverydayEorzean It's great, when you're not playing with 500 ping. Did it early in the day for the first time and it was great, replayed later with friends after work and it felt like we were connecting fron australia or something.
As an aside, the original comment was 95% sarcasm. It does get a bit frustrating in savage PF when people keep eating early mechanics in a phase 2/3/clear party.
it goes like this for me
ME
the tank
the other healer
my buddy (me raising him in just the nick of time to watch him get 1 shot by a mechanic)
the person with the nice glam
the main dps
then them LOL

@@EverydayEorzean Crystal :)
@@jaykay5838 OH I've heard some mixed messages about the current raid scene on Crystal =/. Some saying it's pretty dead since DC travel. Is that true?
@@EverydayEorzean I think it has to do with us not really having a specialty you know? Some dc's are the raid centers, others are the PvP centers. We're , just a mix so, no dedication. IMO. Those that really want to get into one or the other generally go travel.
Look man, I care about you being dead. If the hp bars aren't full the voices get loud again. But sometimes zurvan just decides you have to die and I gotta make due with what I got. Also I'm new to healing, leave me alone. Don't yell at me.
You're right. Sometimes blood is demanded. Nothing that can be done. Who yelled at you?! I'll fight'em.
Had a few paladins yesterday convinced they did a better job with clemency than I did with all my heals. Didn't make sense to me cause they never went below 50% but yelled at me all the same. Would have just considered it using the new spell they unlocked at 58 but we were in great gubal at 60 and all 3 of them were omni 90s so...I know they knew better. Was mean.
Dodging mechanics while trying to hard cast raise is kind of a nightmare.
Mhmmmm.... you know we're out there playing chicken with mechanics trying to keep people up, but sometimes it just doesn't happen.
maybe i should play WHM..i love the passive aggression
@@JaceRS3 that comes on all my healers. Lol
@ fair…definitely not me making intelligence based puns on SCH 👀
@@JaceRS3 XD
i just tell people that their number of stacks is their seat in the rezz que
This is the best video I have ever seen.
Well now you’ve just challenged new to make a better one
everything is a better reason than "you need to pay me GIL when i raise you" :D
Nooo..... tell me that didn't happen.
@EverydayEorzean it did back when i was a sprout. Its been a while now but i think now that it was a joke, since rhe amount was very small. They passed it off as dungeon etiquette kind of thing😄

You learn to keep your butt up because damage is worth more to their ego than raising you.
Awweee I'll raise you Autumn :( You're worth more than my damage.
I main RDM. 💯 been yelled at by the fc for a raise. I was like one second😂😂
Uh huh, and how many times have you been in a lower level roulette and people fussed at you for not raising? (even though you don't have raise at lower levels)
@@EverydayEorzean RDM rez and Dancer's Closed Position are two I've been chastized for. To quote another player: "My brother in Hydaelyn, we're in Prae...."
I dont expect to be raised if I botch a mechanic.
You still deserve a raise!
The real reason I don't rez you: I don't like you. Yes, it is personal.
holy shit lol.
Youre raising me currently 😊
>> I'm not sure I know how to take that.
Like a baby? :D Am I raising baby healers?!
for me, when the DPS dies to the bad without dodging a single one even walking into it more than 5 times in a row, the raising to that DPS player STOPS completely, and it carries over to subsequent queues if i run into them again back to back on the very next queue pop. I will also prioritize the tank first (or co-healer if the tradeoff is the rest of the party living the upcoming mechanic or heal check), the red mage will always be 2nd to the tank if they raised at all during an encounter where their veraise is available. if i'm a red mage, then the rank always goes first unless a wipe is inevitable if the healer doesnt go first
Ehh if i die not bothered if i get raised super fast, time to check my messages lol
XD At least you're being productive.
I'll rez once the second they go down IF there is only one DPS currently dead. If they drop again, I'll wait a bit. If they drop a third time, it's going to take a LONG while. Especially if it's in the same fight.
this happened to me in m3 and m1:
the PCT kept actively walking into the bad and dying on m3, after the 5th death with zero mechanic dodges since the pull started, i stopped raising them entirely. we clear, i queue for M1 immediately after and run into the same exact PCT again, they died early in the pull and i still did not res them the entire encounter
"Nay, it's all right if you don't raise me. Oh, don't look at me so. A smile better suits a hero."
First of all, how dare you
@@ejmc6378 My visceral reaction was literally this phrase ;-;
I tried! The world said no. Repeatedly! Before Alphi was there to say you weren't healable anyway!
YOU DIED TOO MUCH. It Is literally annoying to rez you if you keep dying to the same bs. I rather just keep everyone up. Also sometimes the DPS just keeps wasting our LBs and not saving it for specific mechanics!
Coffee time! ^_^
Fellow Sharlayan enjoyer I see! Love the tone of your videos :D
I love Sharlayan, that night theme is gorgeous. Where should I do next?
I don't raise Lalafells
You have to make it equal and not raise anyone then.
Correct, I'm a tank
Cool shades 😎
I wear them at night...so I can....
My one and only reason I'm not ressing you is that I don't have swiftcast and if you were worth hardcasting res you probably wouldn't be dead in the first place
Real
Awe Thanks.
Oh get over yourself.🙄
