"There's always that one person in 24 raids who you raise, they die, you raise, they die..." Me, sitting in back row: *sheepishly raises hand* (Literally two days ago in Weeping City)
This reminds me of a recent Normal Raid roulette I ran the other day as Sage (note I am a DPS/Crafter main, NOT a healer main) and it was Eden's Gate: Sepulture, I raised the other healer about 30 times when swiftest was down, Eukrasia > Eukrasian Diagnosis > Taurochole > Druochole on them immediately after they got up only for them to die almost instantly yet again. It got to the point I gave up raising them and 3 of the dps and just kept myself, the two tanks and the Monk alive and barely scraped out a clear. I already dislike playing healing jobs to begin with, and healing for random people who fail every mechanic every time makes me dislike playing healers and even tanks as well, even more so. Plus that fight is straight up God awful.
The worst is when the tank keeps running in a small circles in the middle of a W2W pull and I'm besides him, waiting to see if he's really, really stopping or not.
While lvling red mage, ive learned that there are some healers that dont raise while im there.....creating a level of hatred i never thought possible.....
I enjoy being a rez mage, but I do find it annoying when the healers just leave someone on the ground while they're DPSing and I know they haven't used their Swiftcast.
As a Rez Mage main, I don't mind raising people and generally being a back-up healer, especially when running with newbie healers. I have saved a few wipes doing wall to wall raises. But a big pet peeve of mine is when I blow most of my mana doing two or three raises to help the healers, and none of them do follow-up heals after the players are back up on their feet; especially since they have all of that MP I just saved them. That and healers that don't use Esuna. That is one of your most basic spells and is quick and low MP. Use it!
It's been 84 years. Meme aside, to any aspiring white mages seeing this. You are either complicating things or not complicating them enough. The worst white mage is one that gives up without trying to learn.

For those who want it. WHM checklist ABC (Always be Casting and the majority of this should be Glare! And dont save them for raises! A thin air on a cure 3 is saving you 1500 mana (15% of your mana!) Finally, WHM excels at single target heals. Benediction, regen, divine beneson, Cure 2, afflatus solace, aquaveil etc. Id save these for your tanks, especially after busters or a top up Thank you for reading :) (Disclaimer, i am a scholar main and so some things might not be right. If not, whilst remaining civil, correct me in the comments
Not using Regen from lvl 35 onwards is a sin for WHM players. It's around 900 potency and probably the best GCD heal per cost in their kit. Regen and DPS spam with OGCDs to top off heals is all you need. Cure 1 and 2 are practically dead to me in regular content.
Holy is not just dps, it's damage mitigation/effective need-for-healing prevention. On dungeon trash mobs, you'll get effectively 6-7 seconds of the enemies being stunned. Stunned enemies are not hitting the tank, which means you're not needing to heal the tank during that time, while at the same time you're also doing damage, it's a win-win. With a good group, 6-7 seconds can be most of a trash pull's health bar gone, then when you DO finally have to heal, a lot of the weaker but more numerous mobs have been killed already, leaving you with less healing to do, and more time to focus on damage dealing. "The best damage mitigation is your enemy being dead."
This makes sense to me too, I main Astrologian, and I'm 100% dropping Essential Dignity on the newly raised if it's available, it's not a full top-up like Benediction, but it does perform best when the target has low HP.
Plenary Indulgence is your friend, use it often. Do not be afraid to cast Medica II and just like, let it go. It has a HoT for a reason. It will heal all that chip damage and you do not need to immediately heal everyone to full because you aren't likely to get hit by a raid-wide mechanic immediately, DPS instead! For big pulls stack your HoTs! Even if they're AoE and the rest of the party doesn't need them, stacking Medica II/Regen/Asylum, especially after the Stun from Holy stops working, is a very effective way of keeping your tank alive while keeping up your own damage without you needing to constantly babysit them with GCDs. Don't be stingy with Lilies, if you are capped and your current trash pull/boss fight is about to end just toss one out, even if it's just for chip damage. Hell, if you know you're gonna hit a boss in a second just unload all of them so you have a Afflatus Misery ready for opening bursts. Be careful with Aetherial Shift! I know it's very fun and satisfying to use, but like most dashes in the game, shenanigans can ensue if you aren't careful. Aquaveil is amazing, please use it, pair it with Divine Benison. If you MUST use Cure III for anything, pair it with a Thin Air if dying isn't an issue with your party and the fight is claustrophobic. It can be a good alternative to popping a Medica II if you know everyone is going to be fine for a decent chunk of time. Much like with Benediction, don't be afraid to use Temperance or Liturgy of the Bell either! If you know a raidwide mechanic is going to happen, pop Temperance! If you just need a giant aoe heal, pop Liturgy! You can set it off basically immediately and there is no shame in using it as a recovery tool.
do not cast medica 2 just for the regen in trash pulls. jut a regen and asylum is all you need for the 10 seconds of holy spam. throw in a tetragrammaton where it's need after and you'll be fine almost every pull even before benison and aquaveil.
controversial to deal damage in the game where everyone's meant to deal damage? I mean yeah focus on healing first, but you can let people get to half HP (at LEAST) during a boss fight before there's a threat of them dying, and the dev team's already outright stated that healers are encouraged to be dealing damage in their down time (which can be frequent if everyone's playing well) Basically.... If no one's significantly hurt, apply a dot, chuck out your single target damage spell as often as you can while the dots up, use lucid dreaming on cooldown if you need to, you'll be FINE trust me
Holy is the best way to handle large dungeon pulls so don't be afraid to use it since it's not just damage. I've had so many times I've thrown out a Holy when my tank is at low health, everything gets stunned then I toss Benediction or Tetragrammaton to heal him back up before the next wave of attacks hit. Just have to be careful about that stun resistance, after the fourth Holy they go immune and that's when I fall back to several of WHM instant heals to keep things flowing and maybe still get a few more Holy's in even if they're only damage at that point.
About Benediction. It's called a COOLDOWN, not a SIT ON. If you don't put it ON COOLDOWN, it's no longer a COOLDOWN, it's a SIT ON. This goes for all cooldowns, if you never use them, you may as well not even have them.
I'm awful at resource management: I see a party-wide damage, here it comes Medica III, the tank is low HP? Throw a regen 1st but better Medica III, just in case. The big problem I have is that I have 1000 hours in the game, I even main WHM, but I only play under level 60 dungeons. So, I barely know that lilies exists, I never needed Thin Air, and I barely ever needed a Benediction or Tetragrammaton. But I'm slowly improving, at least I'm good in using Assize and Asylum at Cooldown.

I'm off FF for now BUT in Endwalker I always saw how the best way to be a WHM is to know how to manage your resources. Everything in WHM for me comes down to balance, spending the right amount of mana on the right skills at the right time. Leave the spamming for other Jobs. The point of WHM is to use what is needed at the right time and that's it.

Oh also I agree with the Holy spam on wall to wall pulls, it is so fun, and it really helps everybody, it keeps enemies stun locked for a few seconds, which means melee don't have to worry about the enemies moving out of the melee's positionals or attack range, and melee don't have to run away or tank a bunch of AOEs, and it means WHM has to do less healing lol. Overall Joly spam means less frustration for everybody. Although that is assuming there are at least 4 mobs in the pull XD. Just isn't worth using on 3 or less imo.

When a DPS dies because a perfectly removable paralysis debuff stops them from getting out of an AOE in time because you would rather continue to DPS than use esuna (which takes one whole second to get out by the way), _then_ you're the worst white mage. As much as you want to keep DPS up, statistics show that DPS drops significantly when one of your party members is dead. I don't care if you raise me three times after that, no commendation for you. I can hear you saying, "don't stand and poop then." It's too late for that. Your first job is keeping the party alive. Raising someone requires more resources and is a greater DPS loss than simply casting esuna.
As a paladin main, I got a tip: The mobs stop moving when I stop moving. Stop holying them before that. Stop putting asylum down early. Pay attention to your tank.
As a dps main, please keep moving and dont randomly stop for 5 seconds in the middle of a pull, then start running again after we drop all the things. Tanks need to learn they can keep running, the mobs will follow.
Some tanks aren't quite confident what they're doing (I'll be generous and say "yet") and hesitate where to land the train. I've set down a Holy when we pause, only to discover the tank is suddenly moving on.
Keeping party alive > hard cast rez(advice for all healers) Benediction is overrated on endgame, keep it for situations where someone needs to be saved... (a tank shouldn't need it after invuln, especially drk...)
I wouldn't say it's overrated - I think it's just used differently at endgame. I find myself using it on DPS that step a toe out of line during mechanics, or ... on myself when I step a toe out of line lol. I do agree though that huge tank busters and stuff mitigated by invulns don't need it like you do in the past.

I doubt they learn anything most of the time you let them get low lol. It's more just oh shit I'm low, 'runs around like a headless chicken'.
I too have played the 'how low can you go game'... sometimes my reflexes were not... adequate. LOL
@@Dusty-- This is not my reaction to getting low, I keep potions on me at all times, and I'm not afraid to use them,. or the likes of Curing Waltz and Second Wind, but then I've been playing a long time. ^^; Sometimes it feels that I need to take responsibility for my own healing if I'm playing RDM though and have access to Vercure...
@@Dusty-- I have seen that sometimes, and it makes me laugh XD. But a majority of the time they will start moving, or paying attention at least to boss mechanics. Though that is just my experience.
I'm not *THE WORST* White mage because i only JUST RETURNED to white mage after 4 years lol, I prefer SAGE but i'm SO PROUD OF MYSELF for going BACK to it - and there's so much cool shit to WHM, that i can't sit there anymore and go "I don't like it" -- I'm just a bit more confident as Sage, but at least i'm learning that -- AS MUCH AS PEOPLE HATE MACROS --- having a silly but SHORT macro makes some great friends. :D
However a good one: You're a bad player if you're botting. XD
IDGAF if you're an FFLOGS user, if you're a DPS tracker or you use "HEY IM USING RESHADE" and other "fight club" resouces XD -- those aren't a big deal to me -- it's the "Unknown 01" players i keep seeing in Prae XD the "Only auto attacks" players...
Step back t oyour keyboard, DO YOUR BEST, i find it so sad when people unsync first time content without at least trying ti once XD -- i'm guilty of doign that because hocrap, i'm not going to sit there and slog through Bahamut synced XD -- and also at times the Alexander raids are a nightmare when nobdoy wants to prog them-- but IF YOU CAN prog stuff synced, do it! Today i only unsynced something because literally .. my partner and i had already bene through this one like 10 times its THEIR personal fave, and they just got their GNB to 88 today -- and they unsynced Ktsis with Hermes - and then we did a normal run after XD
Yes. I am the worst whm. You forgot glare mage. No healing. Just pure dps.
Dear @dojelnotmyrealname4018, on behalf of all WHM's I apologize. Please forgive us our sins.
2 GCD's on the mob for safety is what's probably happening there.
Meanwhile me Playing AST or SCH, I WILL spam AoEs on the run XD even if it means using a charge of Lightspeed on AST.
Keeping party alive > hard cast rez(advice for all healers)
Benediction is overrated on endgame, keep it for situations where someone needs to be saved...
That is one bouncy cat
Too much caffiene...for sure.
Art of War is a gain on two...wait, wrong job. XD #SCH
I am the worst White Mage because it just so happens that I am a Black Mage B)
I am going to erase all your ley lines....
@@EverydayEorzean Nooo! Not my Ley Lines! Anything but that!
"You're not worst whm in the game, you're the worst player in the game"
What a way to start a video.
lol, We've all done our fair share of floor tanking, it's a shared experience.
omg by this metric im NOT trash! woooo
Dont need to tell me, i already know im a trash healer and i wear that badge with pride
okay okay okay - what makes you a trash healer? :D
@EverydayEorzean I'm a trash healer because I'm a tank
I'm the worst white mage because I play AST on controller! X3
omg, I bow to your controller skills, lol I just can't
@EverydayEorzean I'm the same way with keyboard and mouse X3.
No video in 8 months and you just pop in my feed just to call me out? 😂😂😂
I mean I had to drag you back into my comments somehow!
you might be able to fix this WHM but can you fix my BLM :o
There's no saving you. I'll play a lily in your name JaceRS3.
