ECHO Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachment In Use

  • Another video from last year, this is a real time version demonstrating the ECHO articulating hedge trimmer attachment attached to the PAS2620 power base.
    While not the BEST tool for EVERY hedge trimming job, the articulating hedge trimmer is certainly the Swiss Army Knife of hedge trimmers and is the most useful for ALL situations. Ideally, you would have your mid and long reach attachments in addition to the articulating attachment, but you CAN get away with JUST the articulating attachment.
    The cons of this are the weight of the system and how bulky it is, which means in some instances it isn't the most efficient tool. The pros are being able to handle pretty much anything with just one attachment head.

    I've just purchased the articulating hedge trimmer and the rubber pallet brush and would have to say that the rubber pallet brush is a godsend that unit cleaned 7 yards and driveways in the last two days, I've just tried trimming cedars for half an hour as cedars are in spring growth and so did not want to be aggressive. To me the promises of the trimmer are greater than it's uses... that monster is heavy and constantly reaving machine...just use an electric, quiet, lighter, more maneuverable and sure back pain in evening but i'm sure not as bad as handling that monster and constant re adjustment of articulating arm...what a pain!

    I just ordered one of these with the pole saw attachment. I can't wait until I get it. I am a veteran and I broke my back in the military so I have issues bending and twisting. I think this tool will allow me to reclaim my yard which is a disgrace because I physically can't do a lot of things.

      @@CopperCreekCuts I just used it today and I have to say that I LOVE it. I was able to handle it with the shoulder harness just fine. It was long enough that I could get from the ground to head height without having to bend which is what kills mu back. It was heavy, my arms feel like I brutalized them at the gym but that is preferential to my back going out. We got 9 yard bags of waste in about 2 hours. The saw is AMAZING and it made taming my front yard so much easier than a normal pair of hedge clippers.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha, thank you so much for tagging along, I appreciate it! :) I generally price things by estimating how long they will take and multiplying that by my desired hourly rate. So if I want $40 per hour and I think a job will take 30 minutes or .5 hours, I charge $20 (40*.5). If I want $60 per hour and I think a job will take 1.5 hours, I would bid $90 ($60*1.5). Hope that helps!

    Hey Brad, hope all is well. Thanks for all these informational videos. They help a ton. I have 2 questions, about how long do did it take you to do the entire job? And how do you price trimming jobs?

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly can't remember, I apologize! I think a bit longer than I anticipated, I know that isn't very specific, though. I have an hourly rate for lawn care work I always try to hit. I estimate how long I think shrubs and cleanup will take, then multiply that by the hourly rate.
      So for example, if you want $40 per hour and you think a job will take 30 minutes, then .5 hour X $40 per hour = $20. If you want $60 per hour and you think a job will take 2 hours and 15 minutes, then 2.25 hours X $60 per hour = $135.

    • @dariogaspar6453
      @dariogaspar6453 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Copper Creek Cuts Lawn Care yeah I already have my overhead cost calculated and what I want to make per hour. I just haven’t done enough trimming jobs to actually be comfortable with estimating how long it’s going to take. I have a few people already calling me this year and hoping to get full time into it. I have a few lawns from last year and picked up a few more this year, and a few other people asking for landscaping stuff... mostly clean ups and mulch. Thanks for taking the time though! Really appreciate it.

I just bought my first Echo Power head with the pruning attachment and need to get a hedge as well. Thank you for showing it in action. All others like to hear themselves talk about mindless tech talk when all we are ever looking for is seeing a tool doing what it's designed for. Thank you.

      @CopperCreekCuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Figure out how much you need to make per hour to pay your bills after taxes and set that as your rate, then estimate how long jobs will take and multiply the two. You will underbid badly at first but get better.
