Wow, honestly one of the most brilliant secret ending. The players actually have to agree to disarm, all of them. Since this is almost impossible, it shows how difficult it will be in real life with even greater stakes.

It was a glitch, but a nice one. The trigger condition for this ending is the complete absence of nuclear weapons from all players, and for obvious reasons, this condition has never been and never will be met.

The problem is that it wouldn't have ever been seen because apparently there's "phantom nukes" left by konami probably accidentally that exist but cant be gotten rid of
Never achieved this ending, but that would be something to live in a actual world without nukes. Though to be honest it seems like these days (especially these days) does not seem possible, we are passed the point of countries and nations considering this at all these days it looks more and more like we are going to experience the actual horrors of nukes and nuclear war.

The cutscene was triggered due to a software error so everyone on the PC version saw it, not just from the leaks. The amount of nukes right before the event was 2,147,483,647. This is the maximum value a 32 bit integer can hold in code before looping back to 0 like an odometer. When one more was added, the game thought it had reached 0 and incorrectly triggered it. Kinda funny how the cutscene for nuclear peace was triggered by having such a high number of nukes the game broke.
Sigh too bad I won’t get to see it on my gameplay. 5 years later and I haven’t gotten it at all or even close to. You win this time console people - pc player
Even making a nuke can be cheap, unfortunately. Crude, but less than ten million dollar development cost. I don’t know how we’re going to put this genie back in the bottle but I believe whole heartedly in disarmament, whatever it takes.
