Thanks for doing this list! One of my favorite genres, and so suitable for the current isolation! ;) My favorite animalic perfume of all time is Tropic of Capricorn from Olympic Orchids. I urge you to try that one if you haven't already.

Just found this video! ❤️❤️❤️ I have a bottle of Chanel No 5 from 1984 and it’s a civet bomb! Amazing! Thank you for this gorgeous list! Just received my bottle of Civet de Nuit which would make the list, imho! Also, Parfum d’Empire’s Musc Tonkin has my favorite Africa Stone (limiting to 10 is tragically difficult)! Thank you for the learning & fantastic videos! ❤️
I’ve now got an 80s bottle of the Cologne version of No5, and it’s VERY civet heavy!

>the top notes of Hyrax, Elemi, Saffron and Rose fill your nostrils
>you feel like you're about to vomit
>you look at the first row
>your supervisor observes you and frowns her eyebrows
>'ok, let's start mouth breathing hopefully it won't be that bad'
>you somehow manage to survive a bit but your part is about to begin and you try to breath normally to calm down
>now you can smell the base notes of Hyrax, Castoreum and Civet
>loud gag reflex
>all people around you are looking at you

One of my favorite genres, animalic. I love MAAI, plus I'm waiting on Mriga from Luckyscent to arrive any day.

Finally, today I got a kouros from the year '92. I've never smelled kouros before, but I know what's waiting for me. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this perfume

Guys, I'm proud, I have 5 from your list :-) but if we are talking about animalic frags, where is Africa Olifant? Just to remind notes are: Top notes - ambergris, olibanum, myrhh and labdanum, middle notes - castoreum, civet, leather and agarwood (oud) and base notes are musk and synthetic civet. This is a REEEEAL BEAST ;-)
Africa Olifant is AMAZING. It was a toss up between this and MAAI when I ended up buying the latter
I know just half of the listed perfumes. And I would certainly include Creed Orange Spice and Mazzolari Lui. They are absolutely animalic. Beastly! Orange Spice is wearable (and it's said to contain real ambergris tincture. Mazzolari Lui is not (a mix of patchouli, castoreum, leather and mainly cumin). I can't stand it for more than an hour.
Sadly I've never tried Orange Spice, and fear I never will. Sounds like a Creed I would love.

Leathery fragrances are also animalic, right? IMO the best animalic is YSL KOUROS. Thanks for the video
Yes, the traditional Cuir de Russie is based around castoreum, an animalic. Leather accords don’t always use castoreum, but some do. We agree on the best!

If it wasn't you guys, i would have turned this video off soon after it started. Good thing I didn't. This was well worth suffering through the poor sound quality.
on a different note, Ensar just had to come out with 30 ml bottles of his pure parfums. Now I have a 30 ml bottle of Tigerlust in my shopping cart and I'm now just working up the courage to complete the purchase. Even though it is a great price, it is still a lot of money.
