    Travis, go to the auto parts store find a radiator hose the same size with a formed bend that works for you and cut the rest off. Cheap and easy.

      I second that.

    • @billcumberland1677
      @billcumberland1677 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I third that. Cheap plastic next to heat, might not end well. As recommended before go to an auto parts store and get a hose with the same bend, discard rest.

      Napa let's me walk through the back room and look at their hoses. That looked like a Shields hose. Get the number off of the blue label, you can probably order it from West Marine or Defender. Find the exact part number on Shields web site if need be. I don't think Yanmar makes hoses.

    There's a reason why your stomach is more sensitive than his, you're eating like the natives, and they're used to it. He knows better and doesn't want to get sick. I noticed his tuna was still rare in the middle. I like how he is cautious and takes care too not get sick.

    • @svbarryduckworth628
      @svbarryduckworth628 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If there is an automotive parts shop on the island he could bring in the hose and I bet they have something that would fit with a pre-bent 90 in the hose. He would probably need to trim it down but that isn't a big deal.
      I have had good luck bringing in weird parts like this and them being able to dig through the back until they found something. Some places will even let you do the digging.

    ..... laughing ..... seem to remember a while back that Travis did not cook, that sure has changed, and you seem to be enjoying cooking under the watchful guidance of Stephanie's expertise, meaning that her pointers will steepen your learning curve .... liked the no sugar added pancakes, looked good. Downside, me being diabetic, too many natural sugars and carbs (carbs are sugar in disguise). Good to see that you avoid the added sugar, processed food. .... re the Hose, the heat from the engine sure affected that end of it. Did you try an automotive store and see if they could cross reference it. Always boggles my mind a good parts counter person, the things they can find. As long as the plastic elbow is not touching the engine metal the heat transfer should not be too bad .... loved the simplicity of the fish merchants counter, and the size of that tuna .... I missed where you explained in the past what the curved metal brackets coming out of the base of the dinghy and over the side are !!!1 ...... thx for the glimpse into you lives Travis & Stephanie .. and as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans .....

    I bought a jar of wasabi powder the other day which you mix 1:1 to make wasabi paste. Plan on mixing that with my soy sauce next time I cook another tuna steak. Did anyone comment about leaving the dinghy on that dock?

    I think Steph should be cloned.

  • @svbarryduckworth628
    @svbarryduckworth628 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why so cheap with the red onions? They are the best part.
    Instead of soy sauce try using Bragg's liquid aminos. It is better for you and even tastes even better. I love soy sauce but love Bragg's even more. It's hard to find though. Maybe impossible down there.
    You could use a copper pipe 90 fitting instead of that plastic elbow. I would put teflon paste on it and double-hoseclamp it, especially if it is below the waterline on the raw water circuit. Teflon paste really helps seal hose to pipe connections since it lubricates as well as seals so the hose clamp can put perfectly even force all the way around the hose instead of it wanting to pinch right at the screw. Just be super careful using paste because it probably isn't good for the pump or the heat exchanger if it falls off inside the hose and floats around inside.

    • @SailingJibsea
      @SailingJibsea  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I actually put more red onions on the bottom but travis is not a fan of them so I try to make it inconspicuous 🤣 have seen liquid aminos in the store but never tried them!
      Thanks for the paste suggestion in the hose!
