Run….run……from a Lagoon 450…….no, run faster. And when you stop, watch Colin’s (parley revival) experience with his, and now >20 more 450’s! Good episode, thx, Andrew
Hi guys great video again. Grenada looks fun. It is good to see you are maintaining a nice routine with the videos so many other sailing channels are so hit and miss. Have a great day.
Looking at a Lagoon cat…recommend you do some serious due diligence on the structural integrity of those boats. As an example watch the latest 2 videos from Sailing Zingaro…
And the Sailing Parlay ones. And the guy at the same boatyard next to Parlay. Huge problems with weak bulkheads on dozens and dozens of them. Frankly you probably can't give a Lagoon 450 away right now. There's an owners group that had something like 79 people presently signed to it. Dont touch a Lagoon 450 right now.
@@jujuUK68 It's not just the 450s check Sailing Zingaro they go for a sail in a 500 and it's insane how much creaking, popping and banging happens while under sail. You can also watch the gap between floor and door expand and contract and this is a brand new boat.
You are killing me with the Pho noodle soup! I'm heading back to Texas at the end of the month and that will be at the top of my list for sure! My galley is always available if you want to experiment some more with a bowl! ha. So disappointed with our local "Vietnamese" restaurant. Nice to have Moon Dancer back on island! Pretty soon it will be time to roll again.
I've got to imagine a bowl of pho, even from a jar, with those fresh ingredients tastes pretty darn satisfying way down in Grenada! I occasionally make the instant packets or use the "tea bag" spices and some fresh herbs and green onions really help a lot!
On this episode of Travis Finds we get a good used dingy….lol. They are lucky you guys found that or that could have been a costly mistake. Looking forward to the haul out and all the hard work That is coming….
We haven’t needed to apply for visas anywhere we have been as Canadians but we obtain cruising permits (if required) upon checking in with customs and immigrations at each port
.... that was quite the dinghy, am I right in saying that it did not have a transom so all water would just run out. Also that looked like an electric outboard .... I'm with you Stephanie, larger monohull ..... that PHO sure looked good .. your friends with the cat, get then to get some (a case ) of the PHO paste ... can you get it on Amazon, ( just searched "pho soup base" way too many choices) send to them to bring back, but then again they are probably loaded with boat parts already. But the soup base powders should not be heavy. ..... thx for the peek into your lives .. and as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ...
>But the soup base powders should not be heavy it's a damn shame Better than Bullion has to be refrigerated once opened and takes up so much room even at room temp. It's sooooooo much better than powder.
Catamarans are crazy expensive to maintain. As to videos, on the one hand, you have to have a cat to be a popular sailing channel these days, on the other hand so many people have cats it is very difficult to distinguish between catamaran channels. I think there is a strong case to be made doing youtube in a monohull and showing some parts of sailing life the cat guys can't get. Cats are SO LIVABLE I can see the attraction. For me, I am just not willing to spend my future on a catamaran when I can do it for pennies on the dollar on a monohull.
100% agree. I know I’m in the minority (and probably just being silly) but I usually unsubscribe from channels as soon as they “step up” to a catamaran.
Hey Sandra! We gave you patrons an exclusive update on that platform, all the jobs we had done, so feel free to check on there if you missed it, or stay tuned on here, they’re coming up!😆
I hope to see you guys move up to a Catamaran during your life on the water. Life spent healed over can be pretty exhausting after a while. And good job with the scooter. So much better than a car most times. Especially on islands.
Sam Holmes Sailing makes some real "bachelor chow in a single camp pot while underway" sort of meals, if that's the sort of thing you're looking for. Canned meat like that are **not** cheap, so you probably aren't going to find a lot of folks provisioning it **and** showing off dishes on youtube. There's a LOT of stuff channels like this don't show. We see the cool fancy stuff. I'm not saying they shouldn't be proud of cooking pho or pizza or whatever, because she totally should be proud of cooking that on a sailboat, but the stuff that doesn't get filmed isn't as interesting to film and share. Like a fried spam + rice + canned veggie + sriracha mix isn't going to show up here, but might be a mainstay dish. There's just nothing interesting to film there: dice and fry spam, cook rice, heat veggie (corn, peas, corn/pea/carrot mix), stir, serve, eat. It's just fat/carbs/protein in a reasonable ratio and they stay fit so that's probably something they worry about. most of their meals are probably boring as fuck! Not survival stuff, which is almost entirely simple carbs + water, fat, or a combo.
We hope it doesn’t ever get to “survival cooking” lol but you’re right, lot of stuff doesn’t make it to video. We’re big foodies (more so me, Steph) so the majority of our meals on board are what we would eat back on land life, if the ingredients are accessible and I really enjoy cooking/baking something nice each day. We just don’t film most of it (it’s mainly displayed on Instagram for those who have an interest). But you’re totally right, if it were just chicken nuggets we were eating, we wouldn’t be inclined to grab the camera to show us popping them into the oven and serving haha. We’d rather fill the video with more interesting stuff we come across 😆 Thanks for watching!
Did you see Rebecca and Brick House on the hard there? Jesh, I didn't even know you guys had a Facebook page. Duh, I guess I should have known -everyone is on Facebook LoL.
I should probably add you on instaban too. I never had one until a few days ago when I decided I had to follow Mads and Ava from Sail Life. You guys can be the second people I follow there. I swore I would never get an account there but then again I used to say the same about Facebook 5 years ago. All my sailing friends are on there. Too bad there isn't a good Cruisers social media that everyone actually used.
Haha yeah! Seems like a lot of sailing channels/vlogs also have an Instagram account. That’d be amazing to be your second follow😆 We are more active on there but do link most of the content to Facebook for those who don’t have Instagram
It's funny that I don't really follow too many sailing blogs. The ones that I do are usually small and weird, some are folks that I have actually met IRL. The only bigger ones are Free Range Sailing and Follow the Boat. Sail Life is big too, but it isn't really a sailing Vlog yet because they haven't cut the lines. They have been a DIY boat project channel up until now. I like you guys because you show a real cruising life story and you are so funny.

Check the bulkheads it is a lagoon 450 they have bad bulkheads the boat is not worth the money.

Have fun with those bulkheads.....
Great video, thank you.
You all are good friends to do that for your friends!
Nice video
Get it 👍☺
You want the HH44 ... PERRRRFECT!, PS You need to put "jibsea" on your Dingy so if it gets "lost" people will know who owns it
Love that your friends' Cat hails from Columbus, Ohio!!
Enjoyed the cooking segment.
Happy to hear that😃
INDONESIA is great to visit
Lagoon 450..... Check out Parlay Revival for the real story of that model.
Lagoons are having serious issues. Your friend needs to inspect or have the bulkheads inspected.
Love the cuisine segment.
Thanks for the great content! You guys are awesome and such an inspiration :)
Thanks so much for watching! Happy to hear you’re enjoying what we’re putting out there☺️
Love PHO !!! Gotta lookup how to make it !! ✨⛵⚓🌊🌴👙🌞✨
Another great video kids! Thanks!
Thank YOU!😀

All Lagoons suffer the same problems probably. It’s a design error.
Looks like Grenada marine. That's where my boat is hauled. Good people. And I love eating at Laura's!

Absolutely. Join the cat club.
I love Grenada. Make sure to go to the Hash run before you leave it’s on Saturday’s.
Glad you reminded me to give you the thumbs up. I almost forgot.

Be careful with a Lagoon 450. There have been many reports of broken bulkheads. Have a look at Sailing Parlay Revivals channel for more information.
Thanks!! Just subscribe to Skillshare!!
Great video u2 channel is growing. As always food looks delicious🤙

Pontoon boat with a stick and apt attached. ???Sorry to see your thinking in that direction.

Definitely pros and cons of each! Agreed on the scooter, the narrow windy roads felt a lot more spacious in a scooter that’s for sure

@@randymartin9876 Yeah....what he said.
A sailing Cat.. one of my dreams to sail across the world on one.
Okay, I’m still looking for a sailing channel that shows how to do survival cooking with Spam or canned corn beef. Oh well.
