So much fun watching your channel. We wear different colours but it is inspirational to watch you thinking about your clothes and colours. I have been eliminating black this last year so for this coming season I really only have one black shirt. I like the idea of thinking in categories. That could be helpful for me.

I’ve had the same thought that I need to work out what I need in my wardrobe. I cannot carry on just making clothes that you like the look of because I would need more wardrobe space. I loved the blue skirt with pink top and thought if you didn’t want a black jacket maybe a navy would work well and I think it’s a colour that’s very versatile for summer wears.

I appreciate hearing your thought processes. Dividing into categories was smart. Looking back to last year, also smart. I really like the introspection. This was an insightful video. Thank you!

I have just loved your Me Made May videos. You inspired me to have a proper think about what I actually wear (not as many dresses as I thought!). I can now see where the gaps are in my wardrobe and have made some plans to sew garments to fill the gaps. Thank you, your videos are really great, love watching ❤❤❤

Hi Sam. I've been loving your Me Made May series and your ponderings and revelations. I think my favorite is the beautiful and very-Spring Hovea jacket in the blue Japanese floral print with the bold print blouse and nice pants.
My pledge turned out (after evolving) to be to stick my big toe in the world of rayon fabrics and to get a sun dress pattern that worked for me and didn't pull on my neck and upper back. Check on the sun dress (mostly), but it has spaghetti straps, so I tried a cotton Remy raglan top to wear underneath (too stiff). After many adjustments, I was ready to try making it in rayon.
That rayon top didn't happen as my best friend's husband fell hard, had all kinds of complications, and died. Through all the sadness and grieving, my friend is arranging the memorial. That made me realize the glaring hole in my wardrobe -- I no longer have any clothes that are appropriate for such an occasion. My old black wool skirt from work days is all bobbly and worse for the wear and I no longer have any jackets since they all ended up pulling on my neck painfully and I donated them.
My next project is to make a jacket (Helen's Closet Moss) and a rayon skirt (using a pattern from an old skirt from before I retired years ago). My plan is to make the jacket in a Japanese cotton (black and taupe background in a patchwork with rust, muted purple, beige flowers and sage leaves on top with a homespun texture) with the back yoke and neck trim in stretchy black velour. The skirt is a sandwashed rayon that is totally soft and drapey in a medium terracotta color. This is definitely my palette and I think the outfit will help me feel a bit less sad about the loss of our wonderful friend during the memorial besides honoring him, Antonia

I think it is brilliant that you are enjoying last year's makes and finding what the actual holes are in your wardrobe.b

I like the way you divided your outfits into categories. I really like the amount of colour in your wardrobe and some amazing combinations. As for my me made may I don't have enough to wear for a month yet but I have been trying to evaluate my existing clothes and working out how I can make my wardrobe work for me. I definitely need more trousers and some woven tops as that seems to be where my gaps are. Thank you as always

Thanks for going through your me made may. It really helped me reflect on my day-to-day wardrobe, going out wardrobe & holiday wardrobe
I love a colour and a pattern too - so going forward, I need to make more plains as to balance out my outfits. You talked about the percentages so that you can achieve the balance in your wardrobe - I don’t know if you use the app called Whering? I’ve been using it to digitise my wardrobe and the statistics tell me my predominant colours and the balance between tops, bottoms and dresses. It might help you

Great vlog Sam. I loved your vintage skirt outfit. Can I ask what material you use to make Stella Joggers as I am recently retired and need more of an at home wardrobe. Thank you ❤❤

Hi. I've made the joggers in french terry, cotton jersey and also scuba/ponte. They work well in each type and the scuba ones actually looked smart! The cotton jersey ones and a bit like a yoga trousers and very soft.
