yes yes yes on the red gingham bloomers! I’ve been calling them a microtrend and no one gets it! they’re absolutely adorable but that doesn’t mean they’re not a microtrend
SO cute but def a micro trend because it’s these very specific shorts in this style and color that everyone is wearing and every fast fashion company is knocking off😭😭
Sure, but a pair of cute comfy stretchy-waist shorts can easily get a decade of regular wear as pajamas after the trend gets tired. I bought a pair of the trendy crochet lace shorts back in 2016 and I still wear them as cute pajamas constantly. As far as micro-trends go, this one could definitely live a long full life well-past the initial hype.
was gonna reply to your chappell roan vma's outfit ig story but that felt intimidating so i'm commenting on it here: we're getting our medieval revival!! alicent hightower inspired outfits soon!!
If you want doc martens I highly recommend getting a pair of solovairs instead. They are a little bit pricier, but better quality, and since they are made with a proper Goodyear welt (unlike docs) they can be resoled. My docs have a crack in the sole and a cobbler refused to resole them for me because docs heat fuse the soles to the shoes. Solovair also sells replacement soles for pretty cheap. If you want the look of docs but you want your shoes to actually last a lifetime, get soloviars
Unfortunately Doc Martens used to be much better quality, hence versions from the 70s and 80s still looking great. They used to be make in the UK but moved to cheaper overseas manufacturing and there are loads of complaints about them lasting way less time now. The factory that used to make DMs still makes boots, under the label Solovair, and they look so similar to DMs so I would suggest buying them instead
@@rebeccamtb some Docs are still made in England. They are marketed specifically as “Made in England”. They run more expensive than the others though. To be fair, I have my original, 45 year old Docs and several newer pair and have not had any quality issues. I do find the newer ones more comfortable overall though.
I really liked the two newer pairs of boots I had from them and thought they were great quality and comfortable but I haven’t tried a vintage pair from them so maybe I just haven’t been exposed to the decline
yes I can, been planning a video about it! I kind of touch on it in my “you don’t like fashion, you like consuming” video but a more in depth breakdown to come!💓
re: Paloma Wool. I have a lot of items from them because I used to be obsessed and sadly have to report that the quality is often rlly poor - loose threads, unravelling hems, thin and see through fabrics. I would only really recommend their knitted pieces! ❤❤
1st off, I’m old. I own a pair of 45 year old Doc boots. I swear by them! ETA, the bubble skirts can actually be easily transformed to a non bubble skirt which would extend the trend into a much longer lasting item.
My Mary Jane Docs are a staple in my wardrobe and the COMFIEST pair of shoes i own. I 100% recommend buying them 2nd hand or wear them around at home to break them in 1st. Mine were hand-me-downs from my little sister and I'm so happy she gave them to me vs selling or donating them
I got my red poncho because of your influence, Caroline. It was so cheap and easy to thrift and I think it is made with wool (at least it's a little bit itchy). It's also great when you work on a desk and want to feel cozy
Pull an elastic string or cord through the fold on the hem of a skirt and create a bubble-hem. See how and if you like it. Ta-daa, free reversible bubble-hem :)
Wonderful timing as I just bought a pair of vintage black knee-high lace up boots on Depop yesterday and was nervous about it (still am tbh) but I've been inspired by yours so thank u for the reassurance that I made a good purchase!!!!
while paloma wool has many pieces that can def be replaced with vintage options, I can recommend them as a brand to buy from! I bought a longsleeve from them like two-ish years ago and it was and still is my dream shirt, so totally worth trying if you really love something by them
I hear such great stuff about them and totally get the obsession!! Honestly think I’m scared to buy something from them because I’ll love it and then my bank account will be at risk!
They seem fun but I don’t know how I feel about one for me because I’m SO picky and have very specific items I wanna add to my wardrobe and nothing else😭😭 boring bleh I know!!
No that’s actually makes a lot of sense! I feel the same! But maybe doing a smaller one? Like a 5 items one, and any you don’t like you could to a give away? Just spit Ballin😉🙏
Loafers! The ballet flat thing just does not float in my opinion, just like they didn't back in 2010s or whenever it was when they were a staple in office or church wear. Sorry, I'm just old enough to have not cool associations with them, and I think they look disproportionate and childlike in a not good way. Loafers are the way; so much more substantial, sophisticated, and versatile.
I love overalls but as a disabled person who's hands obey me less and less the strap buckles prove problematic when it's important they come off quickly. 😂
@NDtravelingmom my uncle actually had 2 strokes and is now disabled so overalls have been a life saver in helping him keep his pants up and also allowing him to use the restroom without the restrictions of regular buttons. We also found his pants that velcro at the waist which are pretty cool!
My favorite overalls are ZIPFRONT! They are harder to find so if you get a slightly oversized pair get a zipper put in from the top to about 6 inches past the top of your underwear Good dryclears can do this for you!! My zippers are about 24 inches Ask for industrial Hope this helps! Much easier than jeans!!!
I made the mistake of buying uggs, and what's worse, I brought high and low top uggs, only to gift them to family member when I didnt wear them all year. I dont like lounge wear as going out clothes, so it felt like going out in slippers and also I hate fur lined anything 😂😂 especially on my feet, I hate it 😂😂😂 so yeh, wish i got fur lined crocs instead for round the house, I love crocs 😂😂 but yeh luckily I spent half the price for each ugg, thank the lord for Ebay 😂😂
I'm laughing because I think if I wore the adorable knit hankerchief scarf/bonnet that you recommended, I would pretty much just end up looking like an old Baba Yaga folktale character🤣🤣
You should travel sometime to enjoy the winter and fall :’) you deserve it. You’ve served your time in LA please come out somewhere colder and breathe some crisp air 🙂↕️💜
@CarolineTucker I'd like to gift the white leather ones to anyone that wants them. They are a size 8. I don't reach for them as much as I thought I would. I was recently gifted a brown pair that have me in a chokehold! Lol
i was thinking the same thing!! i love overalls but they drive me crazy since i have to pee so much (i'm a hydrated girly okay). i could never wear something over it haha
