- "Mario Kart" is all fun and games until someone wants to race on these tracks. For this list, we’ll be looking at tough courses throughout the racing series that make us rage like no other. Our list includes Grumble Volcano from “Mario Kart Wii” (2008), Yoshi Circuit from “Mario Kart: Double Dash!!” (2003), Toad’s Turnpike from “Mario Kart 64” (1997), and more! Neo Bowser City isn’t hard at all, just time your drifts and you’ll be fine. Same goes for Yoshi Circuit and Donut Plains 3. Where the heck was Mount Wario on this list?! Extremely slippery ice at the beginning, plenty of challenging turns, and an over abundance of trees right before the final part. Way, way harder than the majority of the tracks on this list.

Where on earth is the original rainbow road??
For some reason I struggled a lot with Double dash Rainbow Road. That one would definitely be top 10 for me.

Wow I didn't know about that shortcut in Mario Kart Double dash Yoshi's circuit. For me In Double Dash, Rainbow road is by far the hardest track. In the Snes version, the hardest is Ghost valley. For N64 its Banshee boardwalk.

I definitely think Wii Rainbow Road is the hardest. It also has less traction, and because of the touchy handling of the Wii motion controls it's really easy to go flying. I never thought Grumble Volcano was too hard, though. I always liked that one.
This is the course that gives me nightmares.

Yoshi's Valley in MK64. The narrowest roads in the series (sans guardrails of course), and it's a maze without a clear path to the end.
200cc didn't come out until Mario kart 8. The most you would see is 150cc on Mario kart double

Baby park in double dash , especially with the special weapons! It was the most simple track but so chaotic that you can really lose some points in the rankings
But I don’t know if chaotic counts as hard. It’s certainly luck based for sure.
Crazy to think Wario’s Gold Mine is a Flower Cup course lol
And it's a blemish on an otherwise good cup in Wii. I feel like of Wario's Gold Mine was saved for Mario Kart 8, and Wii replaced it with another track, the latter game's Flower Cup would have a much better experience.
I would say tour ninja hideaway from mario kart tour is pretty difficult but it is also really fun
Even though Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii didn't make this list, I still found it frustrating. Especially the Bob-Omb cars and the trucks that would flatten you like a pancake.
I always HATED the Yoshi's Valley course in Mario Kart 64. Especially the giant egg. I actually enjoyed Rainbow Road in that specific game.

@@OldBenKenobi2318 Probably one of the most longest Mario Kart ever, so much it was long doing just one lap, they had check point.
The original Rainbow Road in Super Mario Kart SNES for me. A basic course layout, but with star-powered Thwomps and ZERO barriers.
Topped with less than ideal drifting if you've been playing the newer games
Wario's Gold Mine and Toad's Turnpike can both go to hell. They may just be the worst tracks in the series.
MKWII Bowser’s Castle is way harder than MK8 Bowser’s Castle imo
the middle section of that course almost always kills me compared to mk8

My hardest Mario kart track is Moonview highway and I always called it flatend highway because I always got ran over by the cars and then I flat
Boo lake from the GBA should definitely be here. I physically couldn’t make the top 4 in 100cc even though I attempted it 28 times!

The video is a great example for how they changed the mentioned tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. All Retro tracks are much easier there.

For me and my brother growing up, Baby Park was always the biggest threat on the All Cup tour.

Yeah, like they totally ignored the round branched Maple Treeway over some "hard" courses that actually have guard rails that prevent drivers from falling off the track. Now I'm more miserable towards that track after watching this countdown.
Bowser's Castle has always been my favorite of any mario kart but they are tough. Also, had no clue about that yoshi track shortcut.
I knew of one, but that other one where you take that hidden lower tunnel that surprised me. I'll have that game for 20 years this coming Christmas, and I never knew about it.
Same thing with Dino Dino Jungle, where we saw Luigi and Daisy fall. I never knew about that path.
I think the only reason I never knew about them was because I was constantly trying to win every time.

SNES Rainbow Road from the ORIGINAL Super Mario Kart is, without a doubt, the hardest Mario Kart track of all time.

Instead of Toads Turnpike, there should have been Yoshis Valley on the list. Toads Turnpike isn´t that hard at all. Yoshis Valley is even problematic in navigation. So many times I just run the wrong way. Not even talking about the "best way" which is so small and has no guard rails, you actually have to fall of the track or go so slow everyone else can pass you in that time.
People actually got lost on Yoshi’s Valley? Never even knew it was possible that you could go the wrong way.

Now way they just put MK8 Bowsers Castle above maps like Yoshi Circuit and Grumble Volcano or any SNES track. Also funny how he said every rainbow road is hard when ones like N64 rainbow exist. That track is even easier in MK8.

It's a freaking survival mode and a complete nightmare when you get knocked off the Racecourse
yoshi circuit is easy what 💀
All but 1 Rainbow Road would've easily made this list, and that 1 is the original version of N64 Rainbow Road, it's very wide making virtually useless, the chain chomps are only a pain on the turns but that's only if you're not careful enough, and the entire track is covered in guardrails making falling off impossible without an exploit, plus it's far too long, not even it's predecessor took as long to finish and you had to race 5 laps on it
Yeah, I never found that track difficult. Usually just boring.

The hardest track is Bone Dry Dunes 200cc in Mario Kart 8. You can't fall down, but driving through there without bumping really takes skill.
I remember during my early days of playing Mario kart wii I would constantly, and I do mean CONSTANTLY, fall off rainbow road (I think it was because I was steering too hard)
I think Dolphin Shoals from mario kart 8 is hard.

I was going to say most of the tracks on 200cc is annoying bc as you’re about to taste victory, they gang up on you!
By the way the tracks yoshi*s circuit and dino dino jungle from mario kart double dash isn*t as hard as you think, it*s a bit challenging by some twists and turns and it may look long or take time but trust me it*s not that difficult, intead you should*ve included wario colosseum and waluigi stadium from mario kart double dash

Wii Rainbow Road is ABSOLUTELY NOT as hard as everyone says it is. Heck, I struggled more with EVERY OG SNES course more that this

@@jimbo9208 MK8 Bowser Castle, Wario’s Goldmine, MK Wii Rainbow Road, Grumble Volcano, Neo Bowser City. Never played Double Dash version of Yoshi’s Circuit but MK8 version is pretty easy. Only hard tracks are SNES tracks just because the game is so hard to control and the tracks are really weird.
Neo Bowser city really that shouldn’t even come close to the hardest courses. 3:10

Mario kart double dash doesn’t have a 200 CC mode
TBH I think Moonview Highway is a way harder city track than Toad's Turnpike, Moonview Highway has big annoying trucks & Bob-Omb cars, also the cars can squish you & some parts of the track have no gaurd rails, Toad's Turnpike just has huge busses & lots of traffic, the reason why I think Toad's Turnpike is easier than Moonview Highway is because the entire track has gaurd rails, you can possibly fall off of Moonciew Highway if your using an outside drifting bike like the Phantom, or if your not careful enough

Bowsers Castle Mario Kart 8 is for sure not Top 10 in difficulty. It’s not even one of the top 10 hardest tracks in Mario Kart 8. Nr. 2 is a joke… probably not even second hardest Bowser Castle. I love this track exactly because of its above average difficulty, but the whole track has not a single hard curve and hazardous are generally very avoidable.
