I have a 90 s15 jimmy 2 door 4wd Sierra classic, got it for 700$ during the beginning of COVID, redid the suspension and tons of replacement parts to get it reliable, working on doing a full interior restoration now. This truck will clean up nice sweet find man.

I grew up around 82-93 square body S-10 and S-15's. The only new vehicle my late father bought was a fully loaded 1982 S-10 Tahoe truck. Never cared for the round body S-10's

Looks like it'll clean up really well! I'm looking forward to the progress on it.

Should have added to my comment that I am rehabbing (with help) a 1986 S-15 truck that I purchased new and am the only owner. Life happened and I also let it sit for years-in a driveway, though. I anticipate following your project. Good luck!

Those steering columns are known for coming loose especially in old Square body pickups cause people pull on them to get in when you take the steering wheel off thwre are 4 stainless star head screws that come loose its hard to get to all 4 I think you can do 3 without tipping more apart but check those screws thats usually the issue

    • @KnuckleHeadGarage27

Hmm that's interesting tho just that causes the center shaft to move up and down and in and out like that. I can literally go under the hood and pull on the steering shaft and it will make the same sounds and poping and it goes up and down . Like as if the rag joint is shot or something else

@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 maybe it's not idk I know those screws come loose and also rag joints go bad alot maybe the columb is junk them things usually last for ever ha

@@SethsBudgetBuilds yeah could be in hoping not cause don't look easy to get the whole thing removed . Also yeah the rag joints I know was very common on the old chevy C10s like I had

@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 I've removed them its actually pretty simple couple plugs the 4bolts on the fire wall and I think 2 big ones holding it to the dash

@@SethsBudgetBuilds I see yeah a bit easyer than a fwd vehicle sorta in a way . Might be easyer to do in long run , definitely need to take the colum apart and see and If that don't fix it I'll be swapping columns for sure .

I bought an old 91 S10 after I turned 16, still has the owners manual, window sticker, and even the delivery tag from the dealership that delivered it to the first one owner

Thank you misread those inspection mileages. Looks like it had around 23,000 miles in the first one and about 88,000 in the second.

I just got an '83 with the 2.8l. I'd love to see someone put a 90's 3.8l v6 from a Bonneville or something like that in one of these.. They gave good power imho

Awesome , everybody hates the old people names but I love them I'm actually saving one that's in a 83 S10 pickup 2wd I'll leave a link to the video
Guy thought it had a blown headgasket but I actually believe its intake manifold gasket failure and timing cover gasket.
It's all on my channel and more content coming on it too

Yes that would be cool a 3.8 or 3800 . The 3.4 from a Camaro will drop in of place of that 2.8 tho if u ever wanted to do something like that

Disassemble the steering column internals. Remove the two tilt joints. Then there are 4 bolts that have to be tightened. It is a PITA, but not terrible.
