I don't need people. I do need dogs.
That Pit Bull face is just such an adorable kind of dog face - at least in terms of appearance, very baby-like even though the stereotype about this breed is aggression.
Yup, my pitbull had an infection through his whole digestive tract, earliest sign was red paws and we had to constantly change what brand of food we used, by the time we found out it was too late, the only theory the vet really had was that he had way too much sodium when he was diagnosed and that the store bought stuff should've been replaced with homemade meals
Your dog looks EXACTLY like my Bella down to the white on her paw and I’m SHOOK I lost her last year right before I found out I was pregnant. It’s been such a crazy time. So beautiful to feel like I’m seeing her again
Oh our dog tends to get allergies and is on allergy meds - I think it's mostly outdoor stuff but I hadn't paid attention to if it's worse with certain foods. Will keep an eye out now
Also talk to a vet about the possibility of allergies. Red itchy paws can be infections, fungal growth and very often, especially for pit bulls, food allergies. If this is a recurring problem, foot bath is only a temporary solution, like putting a bandage on a gunshot wound without removing the bullet.
Aw poor baby! Groomer here ❤. You can use cornstarch to sooth it and keep it dry/prevent rubbing for in-between soaks. Also sometimes something in the food they can be allergic to which causes the itching. Makes em lick thier paws raw which leads to or adds to yeast/bacteria infections. It took me years to discover that with my doggo. It was something small that I would have never expected too. Pibbles especially are sensitive to diet and environment! ❤
As someone said, that treatment is an antimicrobial. If you have to continue using it, your problem is probably not microbes... It's probably food sensitivity. Consider a elimination diet for a short time and find out what's making her feet so itchy. My dog is sensitive to grains. We changed her food and now her feet are clear! 💕🌞🌵😷
Good idea! Never seen this before. Itchy, irritated, red paws is dermatitis. Which is dog allergies, pitbulls unfortunately have this problem a lot. Hydrocortisone cream for dogs works beautifully or daily allergy meds from the vet. But this is also great! Well done pet parents!💯❤️🐾
It is more than likely a yeast infection from feeding your dog nasty kibble or human food. Even if you have dermatitis. It's doesn't originate from thin air, there is a cause to the problem. And likely stemming from internal issues.
@@ssssjjjhhhh like I said, dermatitis is a form of allergies. Also, people feed their dogs what they can afford. So what if someone is feeding their dog “nasty kibble” in your words. Or giving them some table scraps? You find what works for your dog and stick to it. Shit happens sometimes, it matters how you handle the situation afterwards. And yeast infections can happen from a number of reasons, like food allergies, environmental allergies, even bathing your dog with non dog friendly soap, and many other things. My dog eats kibble, 100$ for a 40lb bag. Her fur is shiny, soft and her weight and body muscle is perfect. She looks fantastic. Mine also has inner digital dermatitis on her paws, which again, is a form of allergies so she gets an allergy pill everyday. Whatever the reason is why this dog has red paws, the owners are handling the problem.
@@ssssjjjhhhhmy dog has dermatitis and its not from "nasty food." His 18lb bag of food is $100 and is keto because he's diabetic. Dogs can get dermatitis for many reasons.
How much your kibble costs is irrelevant. Feed your dog a raw food species specific diet, and I can guarantee that they will no longer have those issues. Dogs don't just become diabetic either, clearly a sign you've been feeding your dog unhealthy food.
@@ssssjjjhhhh you are a judgemental pr*ck. I adopted him at 12 years old. I had no control what he ate before he was with me. And changing his diet isnt going to get rid of his diabetes
Some dogs are allergic to grass. Some dogs are allergic to the shampoo you use to wash them. Always, Always, ALWAYS rinse them with CLEAN fresh water. Not the bath water. 😊
It's probably a great start. If you don't see the issue resolved, I'd try conditioner -- it's also good for tangles if your dog is long-haired.@@FoxHartman97
What they used is Betadine... It is a topical antiseptic that contains povidone-iodine, a complex of iodine and polyvinylpyrrolidone. It can be used to treat common skin infections, prevent infections in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns, and as an antimicrobial agent. It is not shampoo. Rinsing would defeat the purpose of it.
It is not called ''dog dad'' nor ''dog mom'' smfh! That is unless you are talking of the ONLY dad and mom possible to an animal, animals, bcz that is other animals so then you would be right. Otherwise not.

Our Pit/Rotweiler mix had the same issue. We got an allergy testing kit and found out what she was allergic to. Then we switched her to a raw food diet and she’s been 100% cured! Amazing results!
@@nadinere3785 amazing how the vets just wanted to do allergy shots. She transformed from miserable to happy in a matter of weeks. I guess it’s no different with our current human healthcare system. Meds, meds, meds, when all we really need to do is clean up our diet.
Pitties get yeast infections like that easily. Apv from the mother deluted in spray bottle works great and coconut oil. Make sure monitor the ears. They scratch and spread the yeast infection to thier ears. My pittie had that issue.
@traycee1301 I wipe them down with cotton balls with apple cider vinegar. I also fed my pittie some plain Greek yogurt and put some the vinegar in his food. Try different foods. If like corn or alot of grains are in the food well just like for us the grain turns to sugar and that's what feeds yeast. You can also use monastate, yes the same humans use for yeast infections on them.
My dog has skin issues and her paws get bad sometimes. We took her to see a vet couple weeks ago and the vet told that many people and dogs are actually allergic to that brown povidone iodine! That was new info for me🤯
@@susanbedard2295 It really foes depend on the problem the pet has. Is it a yeast infection? Mites? Food or environmental allergen? An immune mediated skin condition? Bacterial infection like pseuodomonas? There are products like chlorohexadine wipes but these can be quite drying. There are shampoos like malaseb or malabeze for yeast. Or shampoos and mousses like duoxo pyo or sebolytic. There's are soothing oat and aloe products like coatex and afterwards there are barrier creams like the ones by Aniwell that double as a pet safe sunblock. However the best think is likely diet change to a derm or hypoallergenic diet and nutraceuticals such and nutavet: nutramega. At least they heal from the inside out.

My dog had itchy red paws and balding on her nose and tummy. It turned out to be food allergies. She was allergic to wheat and poultry. As soon as we switched her food, her feet healed and her fur started growing back. I hope you're able to figure out why your sweet pup's paws are inflammed! ❤🐶❤
Ours has a grain allergie. We switched to grain free and everything cleared up. Did your fur baby rub his face on things after eating? Ours would rub his face on his blanket or anything he could find soft enough to rub it on. At first we were like, aww look he's so smart, he's wiping his face off after he eats 😂 a few weeks of that and we started to realize.
@JessicaL085 Yes she did, and she would chew her paws and lick her tummy a lot. Poor thing must have been feeling so itchy, so I'm really glade we figured it out
I rescued/foster a pitty who is allergic to ALL kibble. I have legit tried everything. She would CHEW her pads right off. Bleeding and she couldnt walk on her bare feet. She had Welts that would ooze and burst with pus. Hair loss. Welts around her mouth and underarms, belly. It was horrible. I started meal prepping her food. And its been 2 months and she is completely cleared up. She only eats. White rice. Sweet potatoes, Peas, broccoli, carrots, blueberries, strawberries, turkey, salmon and chicken. Salmon oil. She also gained 10lbs. Shes up to 40 now. 🎉 She is ready for her furever home. ❤ Im so happy i figured out it was kibble, i just dont know exactly what ingredient.
@janessareyes9263 I'm so glad you were able to get your pup feeling better and in good health! The worst part about kibble is if you do manage to figure out an allergen and find a good kibble, they'll randomly change or rename ingredients, and there's no warning. You have to read the whole ingredients list every time you purchase a bag and hope it's still okay. Cooking from scratch seems like it would be harder, or take more time, but it really isn't, plus you have full control over what goes into the food. Best of luck, and give your pup some love from me! ❤️
What good pup!!!! That would be a nightmare at my house...😅 Mine would tip the crate, lick the water, snezee profoundly, get the zoomies, splash that water in every nock and cranny and laugh at you with the tongue slapping everywhere...yup..something like that...probably forget something..
It’s good if you do this once in a while My dog had open wounds everywhere and was itching all the time but changing the food to hypoallergenic was the best with only one protein source like horse, no grain at all and all treats only with the same meat It helped him a lot but we never got rid of it completely
Have you thought of changing her diet to raw or freeze dried, Or homemade. That is generally a reaction to food. Yeasty and irritated paws. Nice looking pit and so glad to see her in a home that loves her!😊
Coming from a vetstudent, it usually doesn't have to do with raw/cooked diet but with certain protein spources that some dogs might be allergic to. Way to find out is to do 2 months of a single protein diet, meaning you choose a type of meat your dog has never had before (that he hasn't had the chance to get allergic to yet), that could be horse, fish, zebra or whatever, and you make sure he gets this protein only (so if you're feeding commercial food you have to check the ingredients so that there isn't another type of meat mixed into it) and all treats also have to come from this specific sort of meet. If your dog isn't allergic to the newly tried out protein, you should see improvement of skin conditions within 2-3 months. If you don't want to go to the trouble testing out which meats might work, you can also start him on a hypo- or anallergenic kibble or wet food. I generell don't reccomend raw diets because of the risk of parasite infection or bacteria.
@@Anonym-xi8ty Unfortunately, due to protein cross-reactivity, the ONLY way to definitively rule out a food allergy component of atopic dermatitis is a strict food trial with Ultamino or Elemental, the newer ultra-hydrolyzed diets. Also, many food-allergic dogs also have environmental allergies, so a two-pronged approach is more likely to solve the issue (a food trial PLUS Atopica or immunotherapy).
1; raw ISNT the go to answer for having issues with food, other kibbles might be better like purina has an allergy sensitivity food I think 2; she isn’t a pit. She’s either an American staffordshire bull terrier or a mix. 3; raw diets should ONLY be approved by your vet, raw diets/homemade diets are extremely unbalanced because you don’t know what you’re doing 99% of the time. Kibble is balanced
There’s this dog by a boarding house that’s grown fond of me and I of her. I saw she had an irritated paw. I spritzed vinegar water that I had to spray on her so flies stopped bugging her while she laid at my feet. Did that once and it seemed to have done the trick along with giving it time. Took my chance before she ran off😂 she’s a Rhodesian ridgeback mix (has a black muzzle and black on her chest) I adore this huge puppy.
We used to have a dog that we didn't quite know what she was mixed with but my uncle said he thought she looked like a rhodesian ridgeback and she did. Some people thought German shepherd, but she didn't have any black coating on her anywhere. She was such a sweetheart!
This is most often food and treat allergies as well as yeast issues. The grains are gmo, sprayed with pesticide and often moldy or mildewed yet still used. This is an excellent way to help symptoms but doesn't cure. You can use a concentrated amount... like in a cup and dip paws, rub in, wait and rinse. I add epsom salt too. Good luck!
I’m a vet tech, I love when people love their dogs like this. Bless you
How long do you keep the dog in the solution for their paws

You should get a brush (like a tooth brush) and scrub in between her paws and stuff with that solution. Literally works wonders

@@TheMelbox68 thanks. I remember my aunt calling me dumb and extra for it but it worked. Not sure if you have pets but if you do and you ever have this problem make sure the brush isn't too hard and you brush at a decent speed. Its good for getting all the debris and bacteria out.

@@louiseb6111 you're right but with that it's not just a reddening of the skin or a certain smell and licking. The skin starts getting flakey and it looks more like a rash.

Our dogs did this when we used to feed them Milkbones. The wheat would make their paws itch like crazy.
Good tip.
Usually the chicken
@elise89536 Unfortunately a lot of the ingredients in their food is bad for them. Ive heard corn wheat and chicken are the worst.
Oh our dog tends to get allergies and is on allergy meds - I think it's mostly outdoor stuff but I hadn't paid attention to if it's worse with certain foods. Will keep an eye out now
I noticed this with my dog so I switched to salmon based and it helps but close to spitting time he’s still super itchy
Also talk to a vet about the possibility of allergies. Red itchy paws can be infections, fungal growth and very often, especially for pit bulls, food allergies. If this is a recurring problem, foot bath is only a temporary solution, like putting a bandage on a gunshot wound without removing the bullet.
Our Sharpei had the same and had to go on to a grain free diet in the end due to allergies.
i'm thinking her cookie might ironically be the very reason for her paw issues

nawwww such a sweetheart 🥰😍🩷 hope her tootsies are better ♥️
Awww her eyes! She so cuuuute! ❤

She's so beautiful! ❤

Some dogs are allergic to grass. Some dogs are allergic to the shampoo you use to wash them. Always, Always, ALWAYS rinse them with CLEAN fresh water. Not the bath water. 😊
Also, their skin can get dry too. Dog oatmeal conditioner helps dry skin after you shampoo them.
@@Nubesyxochis i have dog oatmeal shampoo. will that work too
It's probably a great start.

Pitties get yeast infections like that easily. Apv from the mother deluted in spray bottle works great and coconut oil. Make sure monitor the ears. They scratch and spread the yeast infection to thier ears. My pittie had that issue.
@ferrisbean so what do you use for the ears ,my staffie suffers will one problem ear and itchy paws vet bills are getting expensive.
Does this go for male pitties to?

@@susanbedard2295
It really foes depend on the problem the pet has.
Oh my God, she is the sweetest thing ever.
Bless you so much. You take such good care of your baby.
It is an animal, not a baby as in a child, smfh. Also, deranged one, it looks like an adult dog. If it was a younger one then they are called puppies, they have specific words for all the young animals out there if you did not know and for owls it is owlets and for horses it is foals sooo, stop the nonsense you are on.
That would be a nightmare at my house...😅
Mine would tip the crate, lick the water, snezee profoundly, get the zoomies, splash that water in every nock and cranny and laugh at you with the tongue slapping everywhere...yup..something like that...probably forget something..

My dog had open wounds everywhere and was itching all the time but changing the food to hypoallergenic was the best with only one protein source like horse, no grain at all and all treats only with the same meat
It helped him a lot but we never got rid of it completely
Horse meat?!?! NO
@@JaimeBlackBird i know.. i am vegan myself but thats the point if you have pets. They eat meat. And the point is not which meat…

oh what a sweet little pittie!!🥹💗
Have you thought of changing her diet to raw or freeze dried, Or homemade. That is generally a reaction to food. Yeasty and irritated paws. Nice looking pit and so glad to see her in a home that loves her!😊
My parent didn't feed raw but changed to a kibble with a low salt/natrium content. Dog never had itchy feet again.
1; raw ISNT the go to answer for having issues with food, other kibbles might be better like purina has an allergy sensitivity food I think
2; she isn’t a pit.
Took my chance before she ran off😂 she’s a Rhodesian ridgeback mix (has a black muzzle and black on her chest) I adore this huge puppy.
yuck
We used to have a dog that we didn't quite know what she was mixed with but my uncle said he thought she looked like a rhodesian ridgeback and she did. Some people thought German shepherd, but she didn't have any black coating on her anywhere. She was such a sweetheart!
@@KingofgraceSARA don't say that about yourself now..
Good luck!
What lovely, caring people😊
