Personally, I think the Venza is awesome. It's sleek and sophisticated, while the Rav4 is rugged and tough in appearance. Both appeal to very different demographics. Also, there are so many Rav4's on the road. I like the fact that the Venza is unique and there aren't as many.

    • @radguurl
      @radguurl ปีที่แล้ว +13

THIS. This is exactly why I want a Venza versus a Rav 4. There are so many Rave 4s on the road. I don't go off roading or camping but do want an SUV for all city driving I do. I also don't want to blow an extra $20k on a Lexus. Also, the Lexus and other luxury vehicles generally require premium gas, which I don't want to pay for. Between that, the great gas mileage due it being a hybrid and Toyota reliability, it's a Venza for me. This hits that sweet spot between the more rugged Rav 4 and the more luxurious Lexus.
Now, I just need Toyota to HURRY UP AND MAKE THEM. Been on a waiting list for a few months for a Limited Edition, lol.

The Venza is not redundant like this guy insinuates. I test drove both. The comfort level of the Venza far exceeds that of RAV4. I felt every bump I hit when driving the Rav. The Venza seating was significantly more comfortable.

  • @jonofjord1663

Test drove a Rav4 and a Venza last week. While their handling characteristics were very similar the Venza was more comfortable and much quieter at highway speeds. Less wind noise and engine noise in particular. More bells and whistles on the base model Venza, also.

  • @g.richardson6883

I think the Venza appeals to a different buyer than the RAV4; i.e. those who prefer the more elegant styling of the Venza over the more offroad look of the RAV4.

Venza is like RAV-4 for old people. I am old people. Love my Venza. It’s like a Diet Lexus. Very comfortable and not a dime a dozen on the road like RAV-4.

  • @MaureenStapletonFan

The RAV4 is very utilitarian with its appearance and interior design. Almost truck like. The Venza is a bit softer with its design. Definitely intended for different buyers.

The Venza is a much more stylish vehicle compared to the Rav4. It doesnt make much sense in Utah or the inter-mountain West in general but in a much larger urban setting I guess it does.

mmmm its a rav4 for old farts that think lexus nx350h is a waste of money
i put 16" rav4 wheels and AT tires on my venza and put in stiffer springs that have an extra turn and lifted the stance by 3/4" for 8.5" of clearance loaded. i added oem mudguards, roof rack and front aux led trail lights. the stock headlights on this plush car suck. my last car was a 1999 4runner ltd 2wd with 220k miles. the venza does ok on fire roads in norm mode with trax ctrl on. and gets better mileage than my 15mpg 4runner.
my car payment plus gasoline for my venza is equal to my gas costs for the 4runner by itself.
venza is much faster, more stable on highways and curvy mountain roads that the 4runner has to be careful on.
i never got stuck in the 2wd 4runner bc i knew whete not to go.
it is nice to have awd with the venza out on the trails.

Thing you’re not in the marketing department Ben. There’s a lot of differences between Venza and RAV looks are huge and more people base their buying decision on aesthetics. Plus it’s more upscale than any RAV, much quieter and yeah there are a lot of reasons for the Venza which are selling very well

  • @cbrown1232
    @cbrown1232 ปีที่แล้ว +33

Dude, you didn’t actually DRIVE the car. Had you taken it further, eg on the highway you’d immediately notice just how much quieter and smoother the ride is vs the RAV4. It’s much more comparable to the Lexus NX or RX, which I drove before I bought a 2021 Venza limited. I couldn’t justify spending $10k+ more just to have a Lexus badge.

I bought a 2019 RAV4 LE for my son. And I just bought a 2023 Venza Limited in red with the exact interior as shown in this video for my wife. I think the RAV4 looks more rugged. And the Venza exudes finesse and elegance. I’m glad Toyota came up with so many vehicles. So, we may have options. I have a request for you to consider concerning cargo room. The Venza is rated at ~29 cu ft and RAV4 at ~37 cu ft. So at first glance at the numbers, it seems that the Venza has considerably less cargo space. But if you just look at the length and width of the cargo floor, I'll bet there isn't as much difference between the two vehicles.
To me, I'd much rather see square feet than cubic feet because I never load cargo higher than the back seat height (for safety/visibility reasons.) Or maybe cubic feet up to the height of the top of the back seat (not including head rests.) So all the extra height that the RAV4 has (and hence much greater cubic feet) isn't all that meaningful to me. So the request is to consider measuring the floor area of the different vehicles so people can compare the *practical* usable cargo space. I realize that the Venza cargo floor is not a rectangle (it gets smaller as you get closer to the back seat) so maybe my request isn't practical. But hopefully you see my point. Thanks Ben, and Happy New Year!

Bought our 21’ limited with the optional fancy pano glass. My wife has put 31k miles between her work commute and family vacation miles. She averages 47mph. Cabin is well executed and very comfortable. A lot of soft touch leather. Not having “hard buttons” has not been an issue. Everything is very responsive and user friendly. Only complaint which is the pano glass. A burnt black mark appeared with a frosted circular outer layer. Long story short, this is an electrical short within the glass which enables the frost and regular toggling. It’s an 8k repair which we were able to get done under warranty. Extended warranty will not warrant this so read the fine print. We paid 51k OTD with the extended platinum warranty. Southern California. 1k markup

Just picked up my Venza Limited two days ago. I will say that the Titanium Glow is a gorgeous color. I picked the Venza over the RAV4 due to look of it. The Venza's are so popular, you have to put money down the minute the dealer gets notice that one is on the way to their dealership (especially the limited). And in central Florida, the dealers are adding upcharges on their vehicles (which I didn't pay or buy from these dealers).

You keep asking WHY THE VENZA?.... as a reviewer, have you ever reviewed the LEXUS NX350H Hybrid? The Venza from Toyota is essentially the same car as the Lexus NX350H. Sure, a few less horsepower on the Venza, No need for Premium Fuel on the Venza, perhaps a bit less integration of the center display into the driver's cluster than on the NX, a more subdued front grill treatment on the Venza. But other than those things the Venza is to top of the line in comfort and luxury (including folding mirrors I might add (a wife MUST feature)). So, my take is.... if you are looking at the RAV4 Limited you owe it to yourself to look at the Venza... and if you do not desire to wait 9+ months for a Lexus NX350H then perhaps you can find a Venza and save perhaps $10K as well. We moved from a 2021 RAV4 Limited to the 2023 Venza Limited. After a short period of time at the wheel, you are aware that the Venza is the RAV4 Limited's more beautiful, comfortable and refined family member. The Venza's Lexus genes just are that evident....

Of note, re Canada, I am told the 2023 deliveries are fully sold and orders for 2024 are now being taken; however, there is an expectation that there will be NO Venza deliveries for Canada in 2025! And some of these 2024 orders will end up with no Venza, merely a refund of their deposit.

Actually the Venza limited at its highest price with all the bells and whistles is less than a Lexus with the basic features. A Lexus with all the same features as a Venza will cost at least 10k over, so I say the Venza is a good deal.

@@naveenthemachine not a chance, venza is a very great car and premium for the price but definitely not better than a NX, maybe the limited could be on par with the base model but definitely not better as the NX comes with waaay more features.

I prefer the Venza over the RAV4, because it looks more elegant. I want to purchase a 2023 Venza Limited as soon as the 2024s hit Puerto Rico dealers. I’m a bit concerned about the Venza having been discontinued, but I also think it would be a great opportunity for a good deal on a feature-packed Toyota. Should I get it? Should I wait for the Signia to hit dealers and then try to get a deal on a 2023 or 2024 Venza Limited?

Why Venza? IMO this car is not made specifically for N America but Toyota sees the potential to sell more cars/SUVs by rebadging the Harrier to Venza which is a familiar name here. Easy marketing decision.

mmmm its a rav4 for old farts that think lexus nx350h is a waste of money
i put 16" rav4 wheels and AT tires on my venza and put in stiffer springs that have an extra turn and lifted the stance by 3/4" for 8.5" of clearance loaded. i added oem mudguards, roof rack and front aux led trail lights. the stock headlights on this plush car suck. my last car was a 1999 4runner ltd 2wd with 220k miles. the venza does ok on fire roads in norm mode with trax ctrl on. and gets better mileage than my 15mpg 4runner.
my car payment plus gasoline for my venza is equal to my gas costs for the 4runner by itself.
venza is much faster, more stable on highways and curvy mountain roads that the 4runner has to be careful on.
i never got stuck in the 2wd 4runner bc i knew whete not to go.
it is nice to have awd with the venza out on the trails.
why not a rav4? that plastic trim looks bad after two years and is a pita to maintain.
why not a rav4 se or xse? look great but the markup was too high.
i got venza xle for same price as rav4 xl premium at puente hills toyota. ask for Scotty.
PS. My 100% JDM, (not canada or kentucky) but made in the Japan Lexus Factory Venza is really a HARRIER and has an entire GR Gazoo Racing set of accessories and mods available.

Why ? Because the Venza a beautiful, luxurious and high MPG automobile made for comfort, vs. the Rav 4 which just looks like a squashed truck, definitely UNappealing to many who are aesthetically oriented. Also, please slow your speech and enunciate more clearly, since much of your presentation just sounded like barely audible rapid mumbling at very low volume. Best of luck !

I like the Venza, but initially auto journalists were reporting that the Venza was supposed to fit between the RAV4 and Highlander size-wise. But it is nothing of the sort! I was very excited at first, thinking it would be the same size as the previous discontinued (2015?) U.S. Venza, which was essentially a Camry wagon. But no, even the Subaru Outback is 32.6 cu ft (Venza is 28.something, so close, but definitely smaller in numbers and in feel.)
