“Sampling the Latest Automotive Delicacies!”
Purchased one roughly a year ago, and it is by far one of the nicest vehicles I've personally had the pleasure of calling my own. If you're considering this or a RAV4, go for it. Just be aware the Venza has 0 towing capabilities so if you want to enjoy the outdoors and haul some things behind you, then the RAV4 is where you'll be happy. If your more like me and your car is a pavement queen, then the Venza should make you very happy.
The reason I got the Venza over the RAV4 was because I wanted a Lexus and the Venza is the closest thing to a Lexus RX !!!
@@orlandovelastegui1391 I actually have upgraded my Venza that I previously typed about from the base model to an XLE. Still in love and congratulations on your purchase!
@orlandovelastegui1391
I owned a Lexus RX 350 and there's no difference in ride or quality of materials inside. Layout isn't exactly Lexus caliber but good otherwise.
I think this car fixes many of the gripes people have with the Rav4, in terms of the interior. I think Toyota is aiming for the RAV4 being the more rugged crossover and the Venza being the more luxurious option. I’ve been inside a new Venza and I can say from experience, the interior materials are way nicer than the materials used inside the RAV4. Also it’s much quieter and the suspension is softer.
id like to see a sun roof that opens
This is a completely different size and class than a RAV4.
@@tiffanyzigo647 realistically how often do you open your sunroof?
Bought a limited with rood and HUD. First CUV, first Toyota, first hybrid. Great vehicle!! Comfortable, quiet, great tech, nice audio, and 41-43 MPG. Glad I got it!
@Sandy Shines just go for it without worrying!
Do you like HUD? I want to buy limited 2022. Black interior. Exterior celectian black or blizzard pearl.
My Mom bought the Venza Limited in the same exact color in the video. She got it a few months ago. So far she loves it. Averaging 40 mpg and like 500ish miles on a tank. Love the panoramic roof. She wished it opened up
She almost got the Highlander Hybrid Platinum instead. Said she didn't really need the 3rd row so chose the Venza
How much is a full tank? :) thank u!
@@miszjonamari I believe it is a 14.5 gallon tank
As a first time mom- I bought a 2021 xle rav4, not much features but it serves great to fit stroller boxes of diapers& wipes 👍🏼. I just wish it looked as luxurious as this, keep in mind I got it last may, our dealerships didn’t have much options since they didn’t have cars. Today I went in for an oil change and they tried to get me into a venza.. i loved absolutely everything about it, I was thinking of the cargo area which seems smaller… such a hard decision but we are trying to get a new house so we’re ok with our rav4!!!
The Venza is always a great buy for it's clean and sophisticated looks.
One of the finest Toyota's SUV
One love from Nigeria 🇳🇬. Keep it up
Great video guys. One caveat:
It is a disservice for Toyota to even refer to its transmission as an eCVT, especially since a standard CVT typically has a belt that is basically designed to wear out. Toyota has been perfecting its hybrid drivetrain system for 25 years now and the gearbox is just that. Full of gears which are solid and well built.
I do agree with most drivers on the panoramic sunroof.
It's kind of gimmicky and not opening kind of sucks.
Also if you want to haul something on the roof you can't get roof rails if you have the panoramic sunroof.
This car is way quieter than a RAV4. The sound system sounds better even if both have the JBL.
The seats are much more comfortable also, and the ride is smoother.
It's truly an adult car. Much less utilitarian than a RAV4, but if I need utilitarian I'll jump into either a hybrid Highlander or even a hybrid Sienna.
Tonight during a late night cruise of about 12 miles with minimal traffic I averaged 63.9 mpg!
When I first bought the car last January we received about a 9-in snow locally. Couldn't resist testing the all-wheel drive. It had no trouble at all so I took it to a parking lot and tried to make it get squirrely testing how fast the computer would send power to the electric motor driving the rear wheels and I simply could not get it to misbehave and that was with stock all season tires on it.
If one lived in northern climes and put snow tires on it in the winter it would have no trouble at all.
I also love all the standard safety features except for the lane departure system which became really annoying so I hardly ever use it.
I went ahead and put a full-blown hitch on it instead of their accessory hitch that's only supposed to be used for bike racks.
Toyota doesn't say it, but it's basically got the same towing capacity of a RAV4 since it's the same chassis.
Great fuel economy, near legendary Toyota reliability, basically an entry level Lexus.
My kids are grown otherwise I would have looked at a sienna or Highlander hybrid.
In my opinion this is a big step up from a RAV4.
You do lose a little bit of functionality for the comfort level but for me it was an easy choice.
It's basically an entry-level Lexus for about $17 Grand less than a Lexus. A RAV4 isn't anywhere close to a Lexus.
Toyota officially does not rate the Venza for towing, or at least did not initially. You might void the warranty if you install a hitch on your own.
@@JBM425 or you might not.
Is it true that the Venza kick sensor needs to be removed if an aftermarket Draw-Tite or Kurt hitch is installed?
Yes, I agree. I test drove RAV4 hybrid 2021 and Venza 2021 and Venza is much nicer! Going to order Venza limited 2022 in January. Coming from Avalon limited 2007!
@@thekenthouse6428 I don't think you have to remove it it just won't work anymore.
I love the 2021 Toyota Venza, it’s very nice and saves you gas, I love hybrid cars and electric cars
100% Made In Japan
You guys missed talking about one of the best features for the new Venza. The 2300 watt JBL sound system in our Limited is by far the best sounding OEM system that we've owned. I think it sounds better balanced than the Mark Levinson that I had in my Lexus IS.
Blasphemy! M&L is still better 😂.
Welcome back Venza - with the exception of the very low rear turn signals !!! Move them up into the regular tail light assembly - can easily be integrated !!!
Agree, I always get nervous the person behind me won't see it
Agree specifically during heavy snow it might covered by the snow we expected bit higher and bigger
I love how the Venza is more luxury-looking than the Rav4. The Rav4 is too rugged for me. And I love how the Venza has a similar body look to the Lexus RX 350. I hope Toyota streamlines the front facia of 2023 which I'm planning on purchasing. I want the Lexus RX 350 look without the price. And making all the Venza models hybrid SUVs is another plus factor. Good job Toyota!
When a Toyota forgets its place, also known as being below Lexus. Just when I thought Toyota forgot how design interiors, he deliver a knockout for the price. Love the design of this. My only wish would be if they'd offer the RAV4 Prime's powertrain. That would be amazing.
Best hybrid hands down. Toyota does it again.
Beautiful car. Averaging 44 mpg. Quiet and comfortable ride. On short city trips I am getting 50+ mpg. Smart climate controls. Touch controls not the best, but I use the steering wheel controls. In eco mode, the engine switches btw electric and gas even at higher speeds to maximize efficiency. Battery has a 150,000 mile warranty and free maintenance for two years. Traded up from a platinum Nissan Murano.
I really like mine too.
Also due to regenerative braking if one were to keep their car long enough to need a new battery not having to pay for brakes basically covers the cost of the battery replacement. This is SO much more of an adult ride over a RAV4.
Although I've pulled off some pretty amazing MPG numbers I'm only averaging around Toyotas quoted number of 39 mpg.
Even if one were to drive in sport mode continuously and drive it like a drunken teenager you will still get 37. 😂
you literally summarized the entire review for actual car seekers :")
I can’t get over 36 mpg. What’s the secret? What should I be doing to you my MPg?
@@hershilparekh8654 Use gradual acceleration, run in econ on flat highways. At speeds of 60 mph+ the motor will run electric. My regular commute is 37 miles and I avg 50-60% of that in EV.
Thank you for that. I will try to do this more often. Do you know what the ready sign is on the gauge cluster to the right. That has always perplexed me.
That fixed panoramic roof is a bummer for me. I might as well get one without it, if I can't enjoy the open air.
That's a deal breaker for me.
My grandpa had a 2010 Venza. Loved that one, love this one. 👍
I test drove this, it's a really smooth ride nice interior but it was too small for the price. Toyota is making an SUV for every "feeling" you have geeez. Now they have the Corolla Crossover.
Nothing wrong with that, they are an automobile company after all. Why wouldn’t they? It’s clear you aren’t a business minded guy.
100% Made In Japan VIN starts JT Japan Toyota ~ Toyota Harrier in Japanese domestic market
He actually drives the thing
@17:17 after all the chit chat
I’m happy to see you guys getting cars from the manufacturer now!
Great Review. My biggest gripes with the Venza are: a smallish cargo area, rear turn signals at bumper level, and the lack of a "opening moonroof" to let in fresh air.
The cargo area could be larger than now but as long as the second row is foldable, it has not been a big issue for me at all. Also rear turn siganls at bumper level is not quite an issue either because of the fact that the side mirrors have turn signals. By the way, I kind a miss an openining moonroof as you mentioned.
+Fog lights
U want to see the moon, just step outside the vehicle 😄
thats what windows are for ..jk
How is the visibility looking back at the rear window, compared to, say, a Rav4?
I wish they brought back the Honda Crosstour just like they brought back the Toyota Venza.
I've always said the Crosstour and Venza were literally 10 years too early. They would fit right in nowadays. If MB can sell the GLC-Coupe and BMW the X4/X6, a modern Crosstour would be nice!
Crosstour was an awesome all around vehicle!!
@@clapon1907 The Crosstour had the most bad-ass extended visors
As an update to my previous review, I still love mine but some things to add. Wind noise can be annoying and mine has started to get some type of rattle or knocking at high speed and not sure what from. The wireless phone charging port area doesn't work well/at all. My fuel tank door recently stopped opening (heard it's a common issue). I have almost 60k miles on it now. I also wish the radio had a "scan" button to search for stations while driving. All it has is "seek" where you literally have to press it forward to go to every single next station and who wants to do that. Other than that it drives nice, has awesome fuel economy, feels nice inside compared to rav4 which to me feels more basic/plastic/sporty.
If only that roof actually opened. And move those rear turn signals up where they belong.
I know if you get the LE or the XLE with the 8 inch screen. You will get more hard buttons and knobs.
I thought I would really miss having knobs. Truthfully it is forced me to use the steering wheel controls which makes me keep my eyes on the road much more.
Great review guys!! But Toyota made a few blunders. Zero towing capacity and no fog lights even though the lower grill has a place for them, as well as no heated seats in the second row.
Get a truck if you want to tow
@@coreywhite4073 I KNOW, RIGHT????
It does not have a Trunk and it's not a HWY car. If you want to drive safely at TRAFFIC speed you will need a larger GAS tank, plus the road noise increases with speed. Love driving it around town.
It's those fuel savings tires! Replaced mine with the Pirelli scorpion AS Plus 3, and the difference is significant.
Very nice I wish Highlander could have some of its features like the LED turn signals and power folding mirrors
It’s basically a Lexus!
@@Logo800 A JDM Harrier is what it really is, hence some features expected by the Japanese like power folding mirrors to get into their super tight parking spaces that may not seem very important in North America.
I don’t like the soft middle console which is a waste of space and can see drink stains on it. No fog lights. Is a decent hybrid
Can’t decide between the xle with smaller screen and dials and limited. Please compare seat comfort. I don’t want glass roof, but do like surround view and rear view camera. Why do most reviewers hate the capacitance screens with no dials?
Apparently the designer gave up when it came to the gauges and - oof - that startup noise screams 2001.
I don't know how manufactures get away with putting crucial lights like reverse and turn signals in the bottom of the bumper. Especially if you're driving a vehicle that sits high, you may completely not see it and be caught off guard when someone merges or backs up simply because their lights are in a stupid location.
It's really a non-issue.
I've been driving a Venza for 9 months now without any problems.
Had a friend following me when we arrived I asked about the turn signals. No issues.
Stargaze option is nice but it's a gimmick. It's pointless to have a sun/moon roof that does not open.
I love the new Venza! Nice to see an old Toyota nameplate return!! Great review guys! How are you doing Mason?
Mason is so cool and he got his new car! It’s a beautiful ride
Thanks! He's feeling much much better now, thanks for asking
i got a 2009 Toyota Venza, boyyyy do I want this one
Venza vs NX, pls...wanna see same company rival
Great content guys. Could you please mention the Toyota Venza paint color you both drove in the video? Thanks.
Thanks! This color is called Titanium Glow
I guess like all Toyotas top speed is 180mph and what is the acceleration from 0 to 60mph?
7.8 certainly not slow.
If they start button was closer to the steering wheel, this vehicle would be perfect for me. I’m not feeling where it’s located
Not much mention about the standard all wheel drive and how it effects the drive.
Had me until there was no rear heated seats or hvac controls in the rear even on the Limited. Deal kiler
Great review as always guys. Any chance doing a review or POV on the upcoming Corolla Cross .??
I’m sure it will come soon since others have done it. Cool but slow.
Thanks, David! Hopefully we will be able to review the Corolla Cross soon but Toyota did not invite us to the press event so we will have to wait for a loan or to arrive at dealerships
@@CarConfections I'm suprised. With your excellent reviews they should not have overlooked you. Over 251,000 subscribers. Toyota definitely flunked bynot inviting you.. Soybean from Redbone Reviews Kurt Kreifels also there.
Does the Titanium Glow paint have Metallic in it? I cannot tell from the video. I am considering between Titanium Glow and Celestial Black.
Only thing I dont like about mine is the stereo surfaces, I use micro cloth and STILL have micro scratches galore. Sun hits it and I looks like a war zone.
I'm so aggravated 😒 about toyota not having fogs lights available for this car, it's been 2 years 😤. Also no matter where i look i cannot find the toyota venza harrier body kit purchase 😫 😢 . Why do manufacturers make sht like this so difficult.
I like the old design just the way it was. Why change it?
Nice.
I want to buy it and will surely buy it.
Link!
This car is great. But the size is too small for the price. I think it smaller than rav4 and crv.
It's much more luxurious than a RAV4 or a CRV.
This Venza is 4 inches longer than the current RAV-4
Toyota should offer this in a PHEV as well.
I wish the Highlander have power fold side mirrors live the venza 😭😢😥
Where do you want to buy this car?
A wonderful car..I owned a Limited Venza version, however very cheap and plasticky ( a RAV4 is a RAV4 ) . I traded mine and found the newest and redesigned and re-thought ACURA’S are true quality and fun fun power. Venza was pitiful slow but had super mileage. The fake driving lights were pointed out and these and other cost cutting measures are found throughout… everything is just cheap cheap but looks fantastic. Looks don’t translate into owner pride…another example I remember .. those seat heater buttons..worse than a child’s toy, cheesy carpet..on and on. Well anyway, super quality car but I’ve conveyed my own experience. ( last note..I had the opaque moonroof…it defaults to off and you have to push the button every time you start the car..super annoying and after 2 days I kept the shade closed and never saw it again. Oh one more, lol. The monitor rear view mirror cannot “see” a half opened garage door from three feet away because the camera is mounted off-site. Another thing never used and risky. Camera mirror also does not work with eyeglass wearers (progressives). Bottom line….super quality and will last forever ; it’s nice Toyota offers this for those not wanting to spend Lexus money.
Yep. I ended up with a new Mazda CX-5 after testing a Venza 3x
Cheap and plasticky? Did it have a Lexus badge on it? If not then I’m not sure what you expect out of a Toyota. This actually has a huge upgrade of interior materials in comparison to the RAV4
I agree, I don’t think he realizes that he just compared a Toyota (non-Lexus) to an Acura product.
Acura is a premium brand not a luxury brand like Lexus. It’s a common misperception but you can search and see they seek different markets. Toyota and within their line-up target the widest range of non- luxury from their discontinued Avalon to their $100k land cruiser. They did a great job with the Venza I think but stopped short of hiding it’s RAV4 truth. Great car. Didn’t mean to offend anyone.
I disagree that the Venza is pitiful slow. It drives more like 7.5 sec for 0-60 accelleration, which is more than adequte for any mid size tall SUV like this. There are ton of other vehicle of this size that goes a lot slower than Venza out there.
That startup chime gots to go ASAP get some new tones toyota.
@@drunksquirrel2051 FYI I’m 50 so take your little drunk ass and move along squirrel.
Great review 😊
Thank you!
Venza battery 0.9 kWh , rav4 battery 1.7kWh - new technology ?
we love ours
Very nice review on the venza
Excellent video!😸
I think this is a very good Toyota really a great thing
The venzas ORVM looks like the one in Toyota Voxy minivan
Hello,
How is the fuel consumption of this car? For example, running about 100 miles consumes how many liters of gasoline?
What is the selling price of this car?
Thanks.
It depends if you're driving in the city or highway. 100 miles would be about 2-3 gallons of gas. It starts around 32k for the basic trim
I had 107 miles on my tank last week and topped it off. It took 2.5 gallons. I hope that helps.
44 is the norm for me.
AWD , is it an electric motor or mechanical ?
It's powered by a rear electric motor
. Capacitive touch controls are a hard no on the Limited.
It's beautiful. Although I don't understand who approved of those rear blinkers. They're just absurd.
Prius have the same type of rear blinkers.. as long as the side mirrors have those blinkers, none issue for me.
Can you guys review the 2022 Outlander
We're still trying to get in touch with someone at Mitsubishi... But we are definitely planning on it!
I speak from experience of being a two time Venza owner and I was contemplating becoming one for the third time but Toyota totally missed that up, the New Venza lacks the Classy look that the Venza is known for not to mention the space on the inside is smaller somethings shouldn't change perhaps the Technology but not the Regal look of the vehicle; I was totally disappointed and the Salesperson convinced me to take a test drive in hopes of changing my mind but I could not get past the appearance of my favorite car because I am a Toyota Fan (all my vehicles have been Toyota but now BMW will most likely be it for me somethings should just be left alone. Who wants a Rav4 look alike, really Toyota the Venza was in a class of its own.
I kind of disagree, the older venzas look to me more on the side of mini vans and look basic inside. However the newer ones I think look sleek from the SIDE and almost look like a lexus, but from the front and back they're narrow looking and not as attractive. Inside looks nicer than the old venzas I think. The biggest difference is that they're smaller/narrower than the older venzas but I wouldn't say it's the styling. Just my opinion
@@curlygurlxo agree, the older model venza to me is ugly. This new venza is classic and beautiful and remind me of Lexus.
LOL the old Venza was a station wagon in appearance.
You mean the grandparent look? New Vensa is much better looking.
I've had my Venza limited for a couple of months now and while I love it, the lack of storage is maddening!! there is no room. I had twice as much room to pack suitcases and such in my Nissan Altima! Also I should have done a little bit more research on the gas mileage it gets great mileage in the city but I go on long road trips about once a month for anywhere from a week to two weeks at a time and am on interstate highways and get horrible mileage.
What kind of gas mileage are you getting on the freeway? We pick ours up in two days. Have heard nothing but great feedback on it this far
@@DMAX-ed7pq I’ve had my Venza Limited since end of May. Just completed a 2600 mile round trip to the east coast. The highway mileage is as noted by Toyota. I averaged 38.7 mpg for the trip. The problem is the range. I could only get a max of 415 miles out of a tank @ 10.7 gallons at empty. Toyota claims the tank is 14.5 gallons but I’ve yet to put in more than 11.3 gallons. The cars been back to the dealer twice for this and each time, they claim everything checks out? I’ve opened up a case with Toyota corporate AND I’m not the only Venza owner with this issue. Be aware of this because it’s a problem that Toyota had with the RAV4 hybrid 2019-2021 and Toyota replaced the gas tank on some Venzas. I’m sure if enough owners complain, eventually it will be recalled. Hope this helps.
@@ivandoneshefsky4762 mine doesn't fill to 14 either

What color is this one? Blizzard Pearl?
Titanium Glow I believe is what it's called
Where the front license plate go?
Any confirmation that the Venza is getting a 2022 model?
Yes. Fog lights come on Limited too.
Does anyone know if the driver's seat tilts up & down? I'm tall and usually have to tilt the front of the seat up to get enough thigh support. If the seat is 8-way adjusting and the lumbar is 4-way I doubt that the driver's seat has a tilt function. Thanks.
Hi Brad - the the driver’s seat does have this function.
@@jamesflorence9402 That's good news. Thank you.
Does anyone know why my 2021 venza limited does not have a sunroof, and the speedometer on the windshield?
@med
Becuz the frosty moonroof is a $1500 dollar option.
It doesn't come standard with any package.
It's strictly an option.
Also... The heads up display (HUD) is optional on the limited.
It comes with the optional convenience package that also includes auto rain sensing wipers.
Enjoy your Limited.
The sunroof and auto wipers aren't really necessary.
Although they are nice on a rainy evening.
We have the same car! Only in Blue. It's a great vehicle, but too much ROAD NOISE! It is TERRIBLE!
TOYOTA needs to do something with the ROAD NOISE, as on some roads, conversation is difficult.
Is this Mac from "Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia"?
Is the price in Canadian or US currency?
This is U.S dollars
While this is a nice CUV, there are better vehicles out there for the money rather than RAV4 upgrade. Average American driving less than 30 mi a day. So paying extra money for this upgraded rav4 with mediocre driving experience is not worth it.
I almost bought one of these in June. Went next door to Mazda and bought a CX-5 Grand Touring w/ premium package, no regrets
@@2004cyrus Mazda CX-5 is way superior to all CR-V is second. Tucson is unique and looks much better in person and drives very nice but styling can be hit or miss.
@@clapon1907 I drove the CR-V but as a young guy I didn’t think I’d like the styling after a couple months. I preferred styling and interior and steering and mainly no CVT in the Mazda. I got the ventilated seats and heated steering wheel and Heads Up Display as well as heated back seat, and heated windshield and Wi-Fi hotspot and parchment leather amongst other goodies for $32,700 and the dealer paid for my TT&L because they made some mistakes on my paperwork and I had to drive back several times to sign the contract again. I’m very happy except some minor details, there is no light in the glovebox. The seats are a little hard for my taste, and the brakes aren’t near as quick and grippy as any of my Volkswagen products. I currently have a 2019 GTI and a I sold my 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan to Carmax with low miles for a ridiculously good amount of money since the pandemic has changed the new car inventory. I think I won. I’m happy.
@@2004cyrus I am happy for you too!! CX-5 is strikingly good looking CUV and overall comparison, nothing in that segment can touch it!
@@clapon1907 I have to agree lol thanks!
Super cute car. I like it.
Major fail: the Venza is not rated for towing, while the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid which shares the same platform can tow close to 2,000 pounds. That defeats the purpose of a crossover/SUV. It’s supposed to be the 21st century station wagon.
Does it have Apple CarPlay/ android auto??
Yes
Why does the gas tank not fill to 14.5 gallons
Great question
Would you mind comparing this to the Hyundai Tucson ??
The Tucson compares more to the Rav4. The Venza is shorter and interior space is smaller.
That Venza is a strange mishmash of features. It doesn't do it for me.
Better than RAV4 😌
Remote start monthly fee?
After the trial ends, yes
@@CarConfections my heart...
I love mine but the negatives are the horizontal strip tail lights aren't very attractive, the low blinkers, the hybrid whistle at low speeds make dogs turn and stare lol and kind of slow acceleration. The car looks 10/10 from the side profile but to me almost a 4/10 from the front and back..super narrow looking
Y did Toyota stop making the Venza
They stopped for the same reason they discontinued the Prius 5. Just plain stupid. If they made the Prius 5 SUV I would buy another today. Wonderful car and hard to find on the used car market.
Smaller than previous Venza didn’t care for it…so disappointed…
I don’t understand the purpose of this car given Toyota has like four SUVs in the exact same class.
Good Beautiful quality 🙂🙂🙂
Looks too soft, Prefer highlander or rx350
told my wife this was the suv to buy. she is still mith me
My mom got this car
Here we go AGAIN, Toyota has gone for a more CLEAN AND SOPHISTICATED look.
WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN.
Good looking car, but the start button position is not ideal for me. Very strange placement 🤔
Looks kinda like Ford Edge
Jesus loves you
It's another name Toyota Harrier
The wheels are hideous-looking, hard to clean, too many spoke on wheels! They just used the same style on the wheels from the Highlander Platinum! The wheels matter and they compliment the overall aesthetic look of the vehicle in my opinion.
