My grandma had one as a realtor from around 2007-2010 bc of the IR blaster capabilities and the electronic locks that the agency used. It was always cool to mess around with and compare to my iPhone of the time. I even remember watching youtube on it quite a few years later to see if it worked.
Ha, my grandma was a realtor too! I thought of her when I was reading this comment, she never had any fancy Palm stuff. She only used flip phones until she got her first smartphone, which was a BlackBerry Tour 9630 on Verizon. I fondly remember going over to my grandma's house to see her new BlackBerry, and I remember she gave me her old LG when she got her Tour. Ah, that JS Bach ringtone is burned into my head thanks to Grandma using it as her ringtone when her BlackBerry rang.
Back in 2008, I had Treo 650 and I LOVED IT.
Great video! I was a 700p and then a 755p user and hands-down especially that era the palm Treo was the best phone you could use.
The calendar alone and how it would connect to your computer was why the palm OS was absolutely hands-down the best for business. I would argue to this day in many ways it’s still the best I wish I could use it but of course it’s long gone.
Kids today have no clue what it was like back in the early days of Smart phones but let me tell you nothing touched this phone and it’s eventual replacement 755p.

This phone is way beyond a pda phone. It's a smart phone.
The biggest issues it had compared to the iPhone was the slow cell network and the touch screen was low res and requires a stylus.
The physical keyboard is way better than any virtual keyboard
The Palm Trēo 700wx is the one I have, it’s a very good phone. You can find a lot of them on ebay nowadays.

Can you test if this camera phone is capable of doing a mandala effect? Looking into a parallel universe, Bernstein bears etc.

There may have been a third party app for that, but it's not capable of that in the normal camera

the reason the wifi idid not work is because verizon would not stock this phone at alll in their stores if the wifi (which was originally included fully working) was not removed. I guess they removed it for all carriers because of this. For a while there was a guy trying to reverse engineer it to put the wifi drivers back in but I dont think he was successfull. This was my first ever smart phone and I still have it in my MAGNESIUM case :)
Oh that's interesting, I didn't even know this device was originally supposed to have WiFi, but it makes sense carriers weren't too happy about that
Found a tossed out Palm Treo today, but not sure what model. Needs cleaning too! Screen is cracked, so not sure if it works! Looks like it might be a 755p by Sprint. Stylus is still in it's holder!

I somehow got a unlimited data plan that I hung onto for a few years. If I remember correctly, they discontinued that plan with the advent of 3G--if you wanted to upgrade to 3G you had to get a limited data plan.
I had this phone..It use to shut down ALL the time!
Yes it did! Made Windows ME look stable in comparison!
I had to get rid of it, spontaneous reboots during calls was the final draw for me!
I had the 700W and it was fancy and all that but hated it 😂 the so called Outlook Email was horrible. It would take a random email already sent weeks ago and resend to random contacts. Not good for a salesman!!!

Is it possible to download music and TH-cam videos with this phone? Or even hook up AirPods? My time with Palm has been limited, so I never had the chance to boot up a 700p or 650 and "watch TH-cam" on it (meaning MP4s of TH-cam videos).
Yes, with built-in SD card support, it shouldn't be too hard to load up music and videos on here. I don't think it will pair up with any Bluetooth audio devices, though

what the difference between 700p and 700w?
The operating systems are different. The 700p runs Palm OS and the 700w runs Windows CE
