Drove them both because I was in the market for an SUV. I ended up taking the QX80. It's phenomenal! Older technology but why fix what's not broken?
I have a 2020 Yukon Denali and ive never received a compliment besides when I first purchased it. I traded it in and bought a 2022 qx80 sensory and I get compliments almost daily. It’s a a beautiful machine

@@ThelilantjrTransmission is good on QX80 with 2.93 axle ratio for mpg purposes like Armada. But in international markets, the axle ratio is between 3.5 to 4 axle ratio and will climb a wall with terrible mpg once you throw in off road tires.
And 142 mph top speed smoking all GM products. Ask me how I know 😂

The compartment you try to put your phone in is designed for sunglasses, which works well because it’s lined with a soft fabric. My wife actually really likes that being there instead of up above.

Traded my 19 youkon for 21 qx. Youkon stayed in the shop. All of the bells and whistles I paid for never worked. Might as well have been driving a 1990 model. So far very happy with qx.
What’s crazy is you can pick up a good 2018 QX80 for practically almost nothing. They surely don’t keep their value so if you’re looking to buy a used one, they are there for half the price of a new one
So beautiful Infiniti Qx80, is one of my favorite cars. Good and reliable engine, good and strong transmission, nice design, a strong and durable car as the well known Nissan Patrol. Excellent car and excellent review.
Qx80 all day! Pulls a travel trailer like a dream.
Plus Japanese reliability, 140+ mph top speed when you need to haul a$$ and tow a trick if ya need to do so while driving in comfort.
I'm leasing the 2021 QX80 4WD Sensory, and I actually like it. Yeah, it's been outdated, but it is more reliable than the American and European SUVs. The Lexus LX SUV is the king of reliability with off-road capability.
Qx 80 is my Dream Car
Actually the QX80 is a Patrol with a tuxedo (mall edition). But in international markets, Patrols actually go neck and neck with LC and actually better in on road or off road performance with more aggressive axle ratio, front and rear lockers, Hydraulic suspension (HBMC works similar to a LX Hydraulic suspension), more power, more torque, more cargo space, more ground clearance, etc and yet 1000s cheaper.
Test drove LX600 and felt it was a major downgrade over our 21 LX570. Now let's see what that new Infiniti QX80 will drive like this summer. Nissan GTR engineer cooking a nice engine on that 25 QX80 with over 500 lbs/ft of torque. ❤❤❤

@@Geknight lmao I’ve had chevys last that long 😂 Also I own a Nissan, and it’s a garbage car. The CVT is terrible, the interior rattles and is one of the cheapest built interiors that I’ve seen. Also had to have part of the exhaust replaced at 30k miles because of a bad oxygen sensor. Not to mention now both front door lock mechanisms have failed rendering the keyless entry useless.
@ryanturnerboles lmao you know nothing about nissans they have some of the most reliable cars ever I have a maxima with 380k miles, then a g35 with 270k then I got a g37,q40,qx56 and another maxima an all have been good cars
if you have the money to afford either of these, fuel costs are not a concern

Interesting to see this review because I have a AT4 and my neighbor has a QX80. I like my AT4 a lot, massive and better technologies. Actually I like the buttons because they can save spaces.
My current QX80 is my 4th one. There is no other vehicle which offers the same value for money in its class. The only issue I had with the previous one was the catalytic converter going bad. Its a known issue with Nissan trucks and they haven't done anything to improve.
Besides getting the armada platinum and saving 10k 🤷🏼♂️
Do you recommend it? Is it better than Denali and Nissan Armada? Am care about daily use and long high way comfortable

The Yukon all day. I had the 2007 tahoe and just sold it with 293k miles with no problems
That was 2007... when Chevy/gm made good stuff. Fast forward like 14 years and older technology is starting to sound a lot more appealing as we start to see the problems associated with cramming more technology into vehicles.

I compared them both,I chose QX80 and I d choose it again...I m 5'10" the wife chose it,we didn t care about the roof,we never use the sunroof on our QX80.
YOU DON'T USE THE SUNROOF BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT A PLAYER !

Great video. I’ve been watching you guys for over 8 years now. Wow. Anyway both are great looking trucks. I personally picked up a 2018 Sequoia, almost new and not nearly what these cost new. I took advantage of the fact that is not a popular truck, doesn’t have all the unnecessary crap, that eventually will break, and it’s solid as a rock!! Love the space and the V8 it’s awesome. All of these are thirsty but if you need a big truck for moving around people and things, for me the sequoia did it. And I can seat 8 people comfortably. If you need a big suv, look around for certified ones.
I agree 💯 if I buy a V8 I want to hear it.
The Infiniti should be compared to the Cadillac as a luxury brand!
I owned (3) GM dealerships. Was successful with it. Sold them a year ago and retired. I've NEVER bought a car in my life and I'll do so in 2 years and I will NOT by a GM car. GM's warranty policies punished dealers who actually tried to fix problems and take time to diagnose. There's no way in hell I'm going thru that as a customer. So even though I've had Yukon Denalis for 20 years - - a new one every 6 months - I'll be going Honda, Acura, or Lexus (depending on how my investments pan out in retirement lol)
Nissan. Or infinity. At least you know you won’t be replacing an engine at 30k miles if it makes it that long.

that compartment in the GMC is for your smokes, and most shift levers now are electronic , they aren't physically connected to the transmission so going to buttons is cheaper and saves a lot of space.
At least the one in the GMC is easy to use...unlike the electronic console shifters where you have to push or pull the lever ever so slightly to put it in drive or reverse. Cadillac🙄. If they really want to do electronic shifters, they should learn from Ford (not Lincoln) or Honda.
Jeep tried electronic shifting. Had a nightmare recall. Learned their lesson.
Yeah but pulling the buttons instead of pushing to operate them is plain dumb.

The interior of the Infiniti is BEAUTIFUL but I am not a fan of the exterior styling AT ALL.

I agree with a lot of commenters in terms of f/e. If you have the means, many don't think about that. However, some may not have the means, but get the vehicle anyway. Otherwise, great video and hopefully the dog will make more cameo's in the future!

Qx80 looks so good on the outside especially in pearl white, but the cluster being super old, the trans…..they need to put the 9 speed auto, digital cluster, and aluminum window/lock switches so u don’t feel like your in a Nissan. It’s their flag ship, so if they want to compete with the big luxury domestic brands, they deff need to redo the whole interior, touch the outside a big even those it’s only 3 years old as far as the redesign.
Suspension durability and engine definitely go with the infinity that at the end is the great Nissan patrol under
You should have compared the luxury focused gmc denali trim with the luxury focused qx80 for it to be apples to apples.
When car shopping…avoid the folding running boards….my old 2013 Navigator had them and they always jammed, especially in snow…we ended up just keeping them out, but then they go out so far that they get run into curbs and get damaged. I like My QX80 running boards that stay put…
That cubby on the dash is for parking passes and cards. Very dumb, but that is what GM said it's for.
It’s for sunglasses, that is why it is felt lined. Keeps them out of sight from smash and grab and keeps them from getting scratched. I love it when people call engineers dumb. Funny I put 275/60/R20 s wrangler ATs on my wife's kid hauler and mall brawler QX80. We live up in Lake Tahoe so it is a snow machine as well, it rock and rolls through the deep snow and on the old muddy steep log trails.
My trusty Tesla Y doing pretty good in Tahoe snow storms. That QX80 running all over these deep snow terrains with that type of low end torque and 9+ inch ground clearance. I can only imagine 😊

I rented a Yukon for my visit to Estes Park, CO and the front end is so huge, I felt like I was piloting an ice breaker. It's so big, it was a bit to get used to for the short time it was used around the area.

On the QX80, you don't have to hold down the button to fold down the third row. You only have to push it once and it folds completely automatically. Nice review, though!

The harsh truth is that GM reliability with major drivetrain components has dropped so low that owning a Yukon out of warranty is a big risk. The QX80 is so old its shameful, but the engines and transmissions in these things actually last a good long time.
If you are just leasing for 3 year, definitely buy the Yukon. But if you are buying a long term vehicle to tow/haul with, buy a used 2015 Armada for less than $30K and get you'll still everything the new QX80 has.
Qx80 you can get 14k off msrp. The armada they charge obove msrp. That brings the price much closer might as well get the qx80
The GMC still has the ticking time bomb DFM lifters, now on every cylinder vs. just 4 like AFM - giving twice the likelihood of a failure 😅
It gets one more mile to the gallon than my frontier

Where have you guys been, a lot of people off road them. We went to Moab, Utah and saw 4 QX80's and 2 Armada's off roading and the only difference was that those owners had smaller rims and KO2' and Falken AT3' on them.

Why doesn’t the qx80 offer a decent diff? Elocker, mechanical, lsd, really anything other than an open diff with that abslw. I have that in my frontier it’s pathetic.
I have a GMC acadia 2008 louded , I would not get a foot close to a gmc engine again , not even if they give me it for free.
Just get the Armada Platinum for much cheaper and still has all these features, except heads up display. Actually the Platinum might even have that.
Only thing to note is that the Nissan misses out on the fancy suspension that makes the QX handle corners and stay flat

Push button transmissions arent even new or the future. They are very much the past. The Edsels had them in the 50s and i believe a chrysler 300 had a set too
