    I’m very disappointed by Mary, since she didnt even make the dish. Overall im actually very annoyed by how she is in general, she seems to have no clue about her culture which i hoped for the most in this show. I wished everyone would comment more and elaborate more about their dishes, it made me really feel like none of them even had the dish except Rithy. He was the only person that really intrigued me, because he knew the most and could comment the most and bring out the culture of my home country. Overall im very happy to see my culture on a variety show like this, it is very uncommon. I just hope there could be a better attempt of a video like this. Sorry if thats harsh

    The lady here is sooooo misplaced, she doesn't have A CLUE about any cambodian dish. So neither could she rate the dishes nor could she prepare one. If she would have only a tiny tiny dose of interest for cambodian culture and this programm, she could have googled for a good recipe at least.... but she really doesn't care... no problem with that, she was adopted, but at least leave her out of the programm. You can make a series "adoptees searching for their roots", they cook and people from the country they where born in rate the dishes, that would be more fair than this sad performance given by the lady here.....

      « Khor Ko » is a Han ethnic Chinese dish (from Teochew dialect speakers), created in the Chaoshan cultural-linguistic region ➡️ in South of Fujian province & North of Guangdong province borders, Mainland China.

      @@sonynuon1865 Is this dish made exactly the same way in Fujian and Guangdong or has it been altered to suit the taste of Cambodians? Kuy Teav is considered a Cambodian dish. Should we start calling it a Chinese dish? Kuy Teav in Cambodia isn't made the same way in mainland China and that's why it's considered a Cambodian dish. Mee Ka Tang doesn't taste the same as Chow Fun made in a Chinese restaurant. How about we start calling Cambodian curry dishes Indian dishes even though Cambodian curry is nothing like Indian curry. Or how about we start calling every "real Khmer" dishes that contains ingredients found in Ayurveda Indian dishes which would be most if not nearly all Khmer dishes.
      Teochew, along with Hokkien, Hainanese, Cantonese and Hakka, have lived in Cambodia for centuries, successfully integrated into Khmer culture, contributing to the Khmer cuisine, and keeps Khmer language, Khmer culture alive by passing it down to the next generation, even when they no longer live in Cambodia, to kids who are born outside of Cambodia. So Khor Ko, the way it's prepared by Cambodians, is considered a Cambodian dish.

    We make ours more soupy in my family and it's more brown. I've seen Vietnamese versions to be more orange red.
    In my family we don't make it as reduced and braised, but we do add eggs, and of course use beef. We don't make the pork versions. We also add carrot occasionally. It's supposed to be peppery in my opinion, but sweet and salty. Palm sugar is supposed to be glazed up before adding the beef and broth
    These do not look authentic for Cambodian y'all.

    I clicked on the video based on two keywords…Cambodian and kor ko. I was curious what in the world is Kor Ko. Lol. When the volume came on, it took a moment to realize…Kaw Ko. 😂 cute take though. Based on what I saw…I’d say Nick wins but with the consistency of Robert’s though. Mary’s is so off.

    Since I love pizza, I liked Robert's take on the dish...and aww, Mary's dish, lol...:( but I think given the circumstances and info she told us from a past video, it's understandable.

      The Ko in Kho Ko means beef. The pork belly and eggs version is Kho Jrook (pork) it is more caramelised and not as soupy 🙂

      @RonnyB0i 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leesamizpee7331 true ya your right. My mom uses beef but she adds pork belly and hard boiled eggs since the broth is so rich in flavour, I guess it more so of an extra thing

    Hi we called « Khor Ko » in Khmer, but this dish wasn’t created in Cambodia.
    This soup comes from the Chaoshan cultural-linguistic region in China (North of Guangdong province & South of Fujian province borders) ; and was only imported by Teochew dialect speakers - Han ethnic Chinese refugees.

    The producer did that girl dirty. Unless they didn't know her background they were wrong to have her on the show. She embarrassed herself and looked like a fool to everyone. I feel bad for her that she was taken advantage and bamboozled by the producers but she probably shouldn't participate d if her knowledge was low to begin with.

    Robert why don’t you just give everyone else zero so you can win all the time? Zero respect to the food. Can’t believe someone can be such a hardcore fanboy to themselves.
