Hey Jason, I got your name from reading the comments. I'll call ya brother in you don't mind. Brother that's looking great nice job. I'm messing with crete also. I rented a lift and I'm trying to repoint a chimney and clean it while I'm up there. after 30 years it was showing signs of leaking. You did a sweet job should make a big difference this winter. Cheers bud!
@@HomesteadingNorthernMichigan I bet! What did you end up doing to finish off the top few inch gap? I am good, went up to the UP weekend before last and hiked around, tons of snowmobilers up there!
That is some hard work Jason. My stepdad was a tuck pointer, so you really have to take care with your hands, lotion up my friend. Looking good though.
Good morning Jason!! The skirting is turning out great.Should make for a nice toasty home this winter. I loved watching you jam with a guitar, lol, awesome
Good Morning and Happy Birthday!! Here from Sandi's Channel where she gave you a shoutout. As a fellow Michigander I am extremely intrigued by your channel as well as your journey. Looking forward to following more of you
Hey Jason, I'm a new subscriber and posted an earlier question below you might have missed. Growing a channel and keeping up with questions can be tough, so just wanting to make sure a fellow yooper is welcome here. lol. Didn't want to unsubscribe without double checking, and would be grateful if you replied to my question. Thanks for your interest my friend, and stay warm!!!
Hey bud everything is looking good! You guy's are for sure getting some snow up there now. It snowed here in Ohio for the first time this winter today. Keep up the good work Jason!
Wow tough hands using your fingers as a trowel and trimming tool. I noticed since its a skirting and not load bearing you didnt put in a cement footer. I am thinking of doing the same as the cinder blocks will be just used as a skirting as well.
They're aren't that tough, that hurt like hell... I wasn't for sure if the trailer itself would be stable enough to set her on and since my goal was to keep the pipes from freezing it wasn't necessary.... All trailers naturally settle so I guess I'm a few years I'll know if this is a problem... The existing single block wall is cemented into the ground or you do mean like a formed and poured footer?
@@HomesteadingNorthernMichigan I meant a formed poured footer with R-bar. I couldnt see any cement other than what was used between all of the blocks. So in essence I didnt see a cement base where the blocks get stacked on top. Hope that makes sense.
I like what you're doing there, but it would have been super helpful to tell us the ingredients and their ratio for the cinder block mortar. Also I'm curious about long-term stability of the cinder block "footer" because of ground heave and frost level.
@@12thDecember the weight of the home isn't on the block so I don't think the preexisting footer will matter much.. there was a couple loose spots on the footer but I havn't seen any cracking or anything
hahahahahahahahahaha thats funny you down in the right hand corner playing guitar. looks good. Did all the snow melt already? I though you got some snow.
At 6:31 there is a 2 inch gap between the wood and block. Camera changes and there's better light 2 seconds later and the gap is gone! What did you do?
Hey there fellow Yooper! Nice work and solid job! I just left the Munising area and headed down to Florida for the winter. I was wondering if this video was shot several days ago as I heard much of the U.P. has snow now. What's the snow report up there?
Oh yeah this footage was shot weeks ago... I just finished a couple days ago so the next video will be up soon... I'm actually a troll 😂😂😂 I live under the bridge but Gaylord isn't too far away.... The wife and I got some waterfalls in munising last year, beautiful up there
@@HomesteadingNorthernMichigan Hey Jason thanks for the reply and I was shocked to hear you're a troll! lol. Well I'm a snowbird and only live in the U.P. six months a year so guess I'm not a true yooper either. I've been through Gaylord many times and hopefully you're still snow free because I hear the U.P. got blasted this weekend. Anyway, thanks for saying hello and I appreciate you valuing my subscription. I look forward to your next video!
