This is a lot harder than you realize !! After doing this for close to 60 years believe me! You are one of the few of us left that know what hard work is. Keep up the good work my brother !!
Dude, you are an excellent teacher in addition to your mastery of your trade. I am 73 a retired carpenter. It's a joy to watch and listen to your discourse as well as the sound of your trowel on the block. 5 Stars++ YOU ROCK!! "If you do't SHAKE IT, it will fall off!" That's the secret revealed. Suuccess and good fortune to you.
Yes you are, an excellent teacher. I watched this video twice and enjoyed Every second of it. I believe I can do it. I just need to get my hubby on board. We are both in our mid 70's but very creative. Thank you so much for your valuable instructions. Two thumbs up👍🏾👍🏾5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😊
Bro, you make it look so easy, I've been a tender, been around lot of block layers, yet somehow never caught the reasonn for the shake,, can't wait to try me hand ! Jim
You do beautiful work. I've been doing some block work for a garden at home, and realised I needed to get more lessons, because my work was terrible. Thank you for your help and advice. You're skill makes it look much easier than it is in practice.
Thank you for sharing Ryan. I love how you explained the blocks layout. Great teacher. I'm going to try it your way 😊. I enjoyed watching your video. God's blessings be with you always.
Appreciate your help. You’re a good teacher. Fr I’ve watched many n they ok it’s just you make it ok to be new. I’m doing my first n it’s night time cuz I have kids n it’s just peaceful so I don’t feel so exposed like day time where everyone stay nozy n guys come tell me what I’m doing wrong. So ok here I go, I got ree bar n my gravel I have a huge mess lol but it’s fun. Anyway thank you💜
Hey Ryan, great video. I immediately subbed. I have a 20' x 12' pad on this property I recently moved to. I want to lay a block foundation and build a shed on it. Great information.
Thanks for the video. Most of my work is installing solar panels on roof tops, but I'm laying some 4" block right now as part of a personal project (an outdoor kitchen). Just wondering, are you in Toronto?
Do you have a video talking more about the line you use to align the wall? Interesting construction and your line seems extra stretchy. How do I get or make one? Thank you.
Hey Ryan, I want to replace steps coming out of basement and want to widen one side of wall for wider steps and place a storm door! I see you use rebar every other block! Sealing sides do you put concrete in holes or use some type of sealer for outside of blocks to prevent water seepage as steps are below coming up to ground level? Thanks for a reply!
Hi, with love from Nigeria. You are doing a great job there Ryan. Thanks for the tutorial. I however have a question for you. This is coming from the prevalent practice I see in Nigeria in which the head joints are 2 inches thick average. What I see here is something less than half an inch. Are we being wasteful or something?
Im just about to start........ any advise you can give would be helpful as im told to use family member and also that strangers would hike up the price because im a female. I am confuse so i turn to watching these videos on TH-cam. Im scared
How to prepare the foundation? Cement ? Depth? Leveling ? A from the beginning for Dummies type video please? I want to do a fence wall Please please please
He needs to pay a little more attention to his head joints. Even though it takes longer, double buttering is more efficient and effective for strength and appearance. Bed joints were a little heavy creating tags or weeping mortar inside the cells which can interfere with concrete grouting and reinforcement but is fine for cells not requiring any grout. All in all, he is quite a good mason and a good instructor.
A reminder to the fresh blood to always cut the mud before you go all tappa tappa on the block. You can't see what you're doing untill you cut the mud.
I like the video it’s informative except the biggest problem for a beginner is to know how to mix the mutter properly and how to start the project to complete the wall and avoid problems that would cause you to have start over

Thank you man. Wondering what to do if your stake is in the center of the block?
Thanks
Welcome
What about the foundation my G?
You built on top of the dirt , or you use stone and how much. Any rebar and how you use the rebar?
thanks for the lesson thumbed, subbed, bumped.
Bless up Ryan great job ,oh I heard the accent .praka praka praka
great job teaching your trade. I dont this wall would work well for a pool wall though. the concrete seams have to be without any open seams.
Are you building the complete shed or just the masonry
The complete shed
Thank you peace
It looks so easy😊😊😊
It is easy lol
Respect
Anytime!
how much rebar steel is needed for it?
Very informative, big up 💪✌️👍
Excellent work
Thank you! Cheers!

For retaining walls 6ft high can you use 6 inch block or 8 inch is very good idea

Work on them head joint .. looks good tho
But how did you prepare the earth? The ground beneath that? You already had two rows installed For the start of this video
Is it possible to offset each layer of block by 1cm and have the wall leaning back slightly.
Good work 😊😮_ & basic stuff _ donation

👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is $1000 in labor a good price for a 14 feet by 4 feet cinderblock wall?
So you don't use a level to ensure the blocks are laid straight
❤
give that man a beer can. Which is how you pronounce bacon in Jamaican

💯👌🏼👍🏼
I see so many open head joints. Are you going to tuck point this later😅
